Nutritional and medicinal characteristics of Chinese giant salamander (Andrias davidianus) for applications in healthcare industry by artificial cultivation: A review显示文摘Andrias davidianus,i.e.Chinese giant salamander(CGS),is one of the largest and oldest amphibians existing in the world and is also one of the valuable biological resources of China.Wild CGS has been threatened with extinction in the past decades due to over capturing, deterioration of natural environment, the slow breeding and growth of the wild species in nature. However,in the past twenty years, with the breakthrough and progress of artificial breeding technology by artificial insemination, the number of artificially cultivated CGS has increased rapidly.Artificially cultivated CGS can either be released to the CGS living environment to increase the population in nature or legally applied in food and medicinal industry as a feedstock due to the unique nutritional and medicinal values of CGS as recorded historically. In this review, the nutritional components, bioactive components and medicinal activities of the artificially cultivated CGS will be summarized. The mucus, skin, meat and bone of CGS contain many different bioactive substances thereby having various medicinal activities including anti-aging,anti-fatigue,anti-tumor,therapy of burn and anti-infection and other physiological functions. This paper will further discuss the potential applications of the artificially cultivated CGS in healthcare industry and prospects of future technological development. | Dong He Wenming Zhu Wen Zenga Jun Lin Yang Ji Yi Wang Chong Zhang Yuan Lu Daoquan Zhao Nan Su Xin-Hui Xing | 2018 | Food Science and Human Wellness2018,7,1: | 28
Rhizospheric microbial communities are driven by Panax ginseng at different growth stages and biocontrol bacteria alleviates replanting mortality显示文摘The cultivation of Panax plants is hindered by replanting problems, which may be caused by plantdriven changes in the soil microbial community. Inoculation with microbial antagonists may efficiently alleviate replanting issues. Through high-throughput sequencing, this study revealed that bacterial diversity decreased, whereas fungal diversity increased, in the rhizosphere soils of adult ginseng plants at the root growth stage under different ages. Few microbial community, such as Luteolibacter, Cytophagaceae, Luteibacter, Sphingomonas,Sphingomonadaceae, and Zygomycota, were observed; the relative abundance of microorganisms, namely,Brevundimonas, Enterobacteriaceae, Pandoraea, Cantharellales, Dendryphion, Fusarium, and Chytridiomycota, increased in the soils of adult ginseng plants compared with those in the soils of 2-year-old seedlings. Bacillus subtilis 50-1, a microbial antagonist against the pathogenic Fusarium oxysporum, was isolated through a dual culture technique. These bacteria acted with a biocontrol efficacy of 67.8%. The ginseng death rate and Fusarium abundance decreased by 63.3% and 46.1%, respectively, after inoculation with B. subtilis 50-1. Data revealed that microecological degradation could result from ginseng-driven changes in rhizospheric microbial communities;these changes are associated with the different ages and developmental stages of ginseng plants. Biocontrol using microbial antagonists alleviated the replanting problem. | Linlin Dong Jiang Xu Lianjuan Zhang Ruiyang Cheng Guangfei Wei He Su Juan Yang Jun Qian Ran Xu Shilin Chen | 2018 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2018,8,2: | 27
Mesenchymal stem cells alleviate TNBS-induced colitis by modulating inflammatory and autoimmune responses显示文摘AIM: To investigate the potential therapeutic effects of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), we transplanted MSCs into an experimental model of IBD. METHODS: A rectal enema of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS) (100 mg/kg body weight) was administered to female BALB/c mice. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) were derived from male green fluorescent protein (GFP) transgenic mice and were transplanted intravenously into the experimental animals after disease onset. Clinical activity scores and histological changes were evaluated. GFP and Sex determining region Y gene (SRY ) expression were used for cell tracking. Ki67 positive cells and Lgr5-expressing cells were determined to measure proliferative activity. Inflammatory response was determined by mea-suring the levels of different inflammatory mediators in the colon and serum. The inflammatory cytokines included tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interferon-γ (IFN-γ), interleukin-2 (IL-2), IL-6, IL-17, IL-4, IL-10, and transforming growth factor (TGF-β). Master regulators of Th1 cells (T-box expressed in T cells, T-bet), Th17 cells (retinoid related orphan receptor gamma(t), RORγt), Th2 cells (GATA family of transcription factors 3, GATA3) and regulatory T cells (forkhead box P3, Foxp3) were also determined. RESULTS: Systemic infusion of GFP-BMSCs ameliorated the clinical and histopathologic severity of colitis, including body weight loss, diarrhea and inflammation, and increased survival (P < 0.05). The cell tracking study showed that MSCs homed to the injured colon. MSCs promoted proliferation of intestinal epithelial cells and differentiation of intestinal stem cells (P < 0.01). This therapeutic effect was mainly mediated by downregulation of both Th1-Th17-driven autoimmune and inflammatory responses (IL-2, TNF-α, IFN-γ, T-bet; IL-6, IL-17, RORγt), and by up-regulation of Th2 activities (IL-4, IL-10, GATA-3) (P < 0.05). MSCs also induced activated CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3 + regulatory T cells (TGF-β, IL-10, Foxp3) with a suppressive capacity on Th1-Th17 effecter responses and promoted Th2 differentiation in vivo (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: MSCs are key regulators of immune and inflammatory responses and may be an attractive candidate for cell-based therapy of IBD. | Qian-Qian Chen Li Yan Chang-Zheng Wang Wei-Hua Wang Hui Shi Bin-Bin Su Qing-Huan Zeng Hai-Tao Du Jun Wan | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,29: | 25

RANKL signaling in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells negatively regulates osteoblastic bone formation显示文摘RANKL signaling is essential for osteoclastogenesis. Its role in osteoblastic differentiation and bone formation is unknown. Here we demonstrate that RANK is expressed at an early stage of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs) during osteogenic differentiation in both mice and human and decreased rapidly. RANKL signaling inhibits osteogenesis by promoting β-catenin degradation and inhibiting its synthesis. In contrast, RANKL signaling has no significant effects on adipogenesis of BMSCs.Interestingly, conditional knockout of rank in BMSCs with Prx1-Cre mice leads to a higher bone mass and increased trabecular bone formation independent of osteoclasts. In addition, rank^(flox/flox): Prx1-Cre mice show resistance to ovariectomy-(OVX) induced bone loss. Thus, our results reveal that RANKL signaling regulates both osteoclasts and osteoblasts by inhibition of osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs and promotion of osteoclastogenesis. | Xiao Chen Xin Zhi Jun Wang Jiacan Su | 2018 | Bone Research2018,6,4: | 24
NEW METHOD OF SIMULATING CONCENTRATED DRAIN HOLES IN SEEPAGE CONTROL ANALYSIS显示文摘In this paper, based upon the basic solution of sink, the approximate solution of single drain hole in finite elements is derived by use of the superposition principle. Then, the theoretical solution is extended to the case of some drain holes in one finite element, and the method is used in seepage control analysis with quick convergence and high accuracy. On the other hand, if the positions of the drain holes are changed, only some control factors of drain holes are changed, but the finite element grid need not to be reformed. Therefore, the method is more suitable in optimal research of seepage control. | Zhan Mei li, Su Bao yu , Liu Jun yong, Shen Zhen zhong College of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering, Hohai University, Nanjing 210098, P.R.China (Received Aug.1, 1998) | 1999 | Journal of Hydrodynamics1999,11,3: | 22
Antiviral treatment to prevent chronic hepatitis B or C-related hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Antiviral treatment is the only option to prevent or defer the occurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in patients chronically infected with hepatitis B virus(HBV) or hepatitis C virus(HCV). The approved medication for the treatment of chronic HBV infection is interferon-α(IFNα) and nucleos(t)ide analogues(NAs), including lamivudine, adefovir dipivoxil, telbivudine, entecavir and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. IFNα is the most suitable for young patients with less advanced liver diseases and those infected with HBV genotype A. IFNα treatment significantly decreases the overall incidence of HBV-related HCC in sustained responders. However, side effects may limit its long-term clinical application. Orally administered NAs are typically implemented for patients with more advanced liver diseases. NA treatment significantly reduces disease progression of cirrhosis and therefore HCC incidence, especially in HBV e antigen-positive patients. NA-resistance due to the mutations in HBV polymerase is a major limiting factor. Of the NA resistance-associated mutants, A181 T mutant significantly increases the risk of HCC development during the subsequent course of NA therapy. It is important to initiate treatment with NAs that have a high genetic barrier to resistance, to counsel patients on medication adherence and to monitor virological breakthroughs. The recommended treatment for patients with chronic HCV infection is peg-IFN plus ribavirin that can decrease the occurrence of HCC in those who achieve a sustained virological response and have not yet progressed to cirrhosis. IFN-based treatment is reserved for patients with decompensated cirrhosis who are under evaluation of liver transplantation to reduce post-transplant recurrence of HCV. More effective therapeutic options such as direct acting antiviral agents will hopefully increase the response rate in difficult-totreat patients with HCV genotype 1. However, the risk of HCC remains in cirrhotic patients(both chronic HBV and HCV infection) if treatment is initiated after cirrhosis is established. Future research should focus on investigating new agents, especially for those patients with hepatic decompensation or post-transplantation. | Li-Ping Chen Jun Zhao Yan Du Yi-Fang Han Tong Su Hong-Wei Zhang Guang-Wen Cao | 2012 | World Journal of Virology2012,1,6: | 23
Adverse events related to colonoscopy: Global trends and future challenges显示文摘Colonoscopy is a widely used method for diagnosing and treating colonic disease. The number of colonoscopies is increasing worldwide, and concerns about associated adverse events are growing. Large-scale studies using big data for post-colonoscopy complications have been reported. A colon perforation is a severe complication with a relatively high mortality rate. The perforation rate, as reported in large studies(≥ 50,000 colonoscopies) published since 2000, ranges from 0.005-0.085%. The trend in the overall perforation rate in the past 15 years has not changed significantly. Bleeding is a more common adverse event than perforation. Recent large studies(≥ 50,000 colonoscopies) have reported postcolonoscopy bleeding occurring in 0.001-0.687% of cases. Most studies about adverse events related to colonoscopy were performed in the West, and relatively few studies have been conducted in the East. The incidence of post-colonoscopy complications increases in elderly patients or patients with inflammatory bowel diseases. It is important to use a unified definition and refined data to overcome the limitations of previous studies. In addition, a structured training program for endoscopists and a systematic national management program are needed to reduce post-colonoscopy complications. In this review, we discuss the current trends in colonoscopy related to adverse events, as well as the challenges to be addressed through future research. | Su Young Kim Hyun-Soo Kim Hong Jun Park | 2019 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2019,25,2: | 22
Hepatitis B viral load affects prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is a complex disease that is dually challenging to treat due to underlying chronic liver disease in addition to the cancer itself. The prognosis of patients with HCC is determined by intrahepatic tumor status and reserved hepatic function.Hepatitis B virus(HBV)is an established major risk factor of HCC development, and HBV viral load is being increasingly recognized as a prognostic factor in the presence of established HCC.High HBV viral load may affect the prognosis of HBV-related HCC patients in several ways.First,it is associated with more frequent recurrence of HBV-related HCC after treatment.Second,it is associated with more occurrence and severity of potentially life-threatening HBV reactivation.Last,it is associated with more worsened liver function, which limits the therapeutic options for HBV-related HCC.HBV,directly or indirectly, can induce hepatocarcinogenesis. In patients with a high HBV DNA level and subsequent active hepatitis, adhesion molecules expressed on the sinusoidal cells are up-regulated and may increase intrahepatic metastasis.HCC progression after treatment can lead to a poor prognosis by reducing number of normal functioning hepatocytes. Thus, high HBV viral load can affect the prognosis of patientswith HCC by frequent recurrence after treatment for HCC and deterioration of hepatic function associated with HCC progression.Recent meta-analysis showed that antiviral treatment reduces HCC recurrence and liver-related mortality after curative therapy of HCC.Given the strong relationship between high HBV DNA load and poor survival outcome of HCC patients due to cancer progression,it is expected that long-term antiviral therapy results in the sustained HBV suppression, control of inflammation, reduction in HCC progression, and eventually in improved overall survival. | Su Jong Yu Yoon Jun Kim | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,34: | 21

Vision, application scenarios, and key technology trends for 6G mobile communications显示文摘With the global commercialization of the fifth-generation(5G)network,many countries, including China,USA,European countries,Japan, and Korea, have started exploring 6G mobile communication network, following the tradition of“planning the next while commercializing one generation”.Currently, studies on 6G networks are at the infancy stage.Research on the vision and requirements for 6G is still ongoing, and the industry is yet to clarify the key enabling technologies for 6G.However,6G will certainly build on the success of 5G.Therefore,developing high-quality 5G networks and seamlessly integrating 5G with verticals are the priorities before 2030,when 6G is projected to be commercialized. Also, global 5G standards will keep evolving to better support vertical applications. As a milestone, the Third-Generation Partnership Project(3GPP)published Release 16 in July 2020,which continuously enhanced the capabilities of mobile broadband service based on Release 15 and realized the support for low-delay and high-reliability applications, such as Internet of Vehicles and industrial Internet.Currently,3GPP is working on Releases 17 and 18,focusing on meeting the demands of medium-and high-data-rate machine communication with low-cost and high-precision positioning, which will be published in June 2022.Thus,6G networks will further expand the application fields and scope of the Internet of Things to accommodate those services and applications that are beyond the capabilities of 5G networks.Herein,we present our vision, application scenarios, and key technological trends for 6G networks.Furthermore,we propose several future research opportunities in 6G networks with regard to industrialization and standardization. | Zhiqin WANG Ying DU Kejun WEI Kaifeng HAN Xiaoyan XU Guiming WEI Wen TONG Peiying ZHU Jianglei MA Jun WANG Guangjian WANG Xueqiang YAN Jiying XIANG He HUANG Ruyue LI Xinhui WANG Yingmin WANG Shaohui SUN Shiqiang SUO Qiubin GAO Xin SU | 2022 | Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,5: | 17
Mitochondria-targeting drug conjugates for cytotoxic, anti-oxidizing and sensing purposes:current strategies and future perspectives显示文摘mitochondrial-targeting moieties to anticancer drugs, antioxidants and sensor molecules. Among them, the most widely applied mitochondrial targeting moiety is triphenylphosphonium(TPP), which is a delocalized cationic lipid that readily accumulates and penetrates through the mitochondrial membrane due to the highly negative mitochondrial membrane potential. Other moieties, including short peptides, dequalinium, guanidine, rhodamine, and F16, are also known to be promising mitochondrial targeting agents. Direct conjugation of mitochondrial targeting moieties to anticancer drugs, antioxidants and sensors results in increased cytotoxicity, anti-oxidizing activity and sensing activity, respectively, compared with their non-targeting counterparts, especially in drug-resistant cells. Although many mitochondria-targeted anticancer drug conjugates have been investigated in vitro and in vivo, further clinical studies are still needed. On the other hand, several mitochondria-targeting antioxidants have been analyzed in clinical phases I, II and III trials, and one conjugate has been approved for treating eye disease in Russia. | 18 | Petrological, geochemical and chronological constraints for the tectonic setting of the Dongco ophiolite in Tibet显示文摘The Dongco ophiolite occurred in the middle-western segment of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone. The thickness of the ophiolite suite is more than 5 km, which is composed, from bottom to top, of the mantle peridotite, mafic-ultramafic cumulates, basic sills (dykes) and basic lava and tectoni- cally emplaced in Jurassic strata (Mugagongru Group). The Dongco cumulates consist of dunite- troctolite-olivine-gabbro, being a part of DTG series of mafic-ultramafic cumulates. The basic lavas are characterized by being rich in alkali (Na2O+ K2O), TiO2, P2O5 and a LREE-rich type pattern dip- ping right with [La/Yb]=6.94―16.6 as well as a trace elements spider-diagram with normal anomaly of Th, Nb, Ta, Hf. Therefore, the Dongco basic lavas belong to ocean-island basalt (OIB) and dis- tinctly differ from mid-ocean ridge basalt (MORB) and island-arc basalt (IAB) formed in the plate convergence margin. The basic lavas have higher 87Sr/86Sr (0.704363―0.705007), lower 143Nd/144Nd (0.512708―0.512887) and εNd(t ) from +2.7―+5.8, indicating that they derive from a two-components mixing mantle source of depleted mantle (DM) and enriched mantle (EMI). From above it is ready to see that the Dongco ophiolite forms in oceanic island (OIB) where the mantle source is replaced by a large amount of enriched material, therefore it distinctly differs from these ophiolites formed in island-arc and mid-oecan ridge. Newly obtained SHRIMP U-Pb dating for zircon of the cumulate troctolite is 132 ± 3 Ma and whole-rock dating of ^(39)Ar/^(40)Ar for the basalt is 173.4 ± 2.7 Ma and 140.9 ± 2.8 Ma, indicating that the Dongco ophiolite formed at Early Cretaceous and the middle-western segment of the Bangong-Nujiang oceanic basin was still in the developing and evolving period at Early Cretaceous. | BAO PeiSheng XIAO XuChang SU Li WANG Jun | 2007 | Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,5: | 16

Collagen-binding basic fibroblast growth factor improves functional remodeling of scarred endometrium in uterine infertile women: a pilot study显示文摘Intrauterine adhesion(IUA) is a common cause of uterine infertility and one of the most severe clinical features is endometrial fibrosis namely endometrial scarring for which there are few cures currently. Blocked angiogenesis is the main pathological change in the scarred endometrium. The fibroblast growth factor 2(b FGF), a member of FGF family, is usually applied to promote healing of refractory ulcer and contributes to angiogenesis of tissues. In this study, the sustained-release system of b FGF100 μg was administrated around scarred endometrium guiding by ultrasound every 4 weeks in 18 patients(2–4 times). Results showed that after treatment, the menstrual blood volume, endometrial thickness and the scarred endometrial area were improved.Histological study showed blood vessel density increased obviously. Three patients(3/18) achieved pregnancy over 20 gestational weeks. Therefore, administrating the b FGF surrounding scarred endometrium may provide a new therapeutic approach for the patients with endometrial fibrosis. | Peipei Jiang Xiaoqiu Tang Huiyan Wang Chenyan Dai Jing Su Hui Zhu Minmin Song Jingyu Liu Ziqing Nan Tong Ru Yaling Li Jingmei Wang Jun Yang Bing Chen Jianwu Dai Yali Hu | 2019 | Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,12: | 16
