2Effect of calcination temperature on structural properties and catalytic activity in oxidation reactions of LaNiO_3 perovskite prepared by Pechini method显示文摘The study presented the preparation of the perovskite oxide LaNiO3 by the complex citrate method, paying particular attention to evolution of its formation from the amorphous precursor with varied calcination temperatures. The products obtained after heat treatment under air between 200 and 800 ℃ were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), SBET measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results showed the formation of a single phase with perovskite structure from ca. 550 ℃. Tests on the two catalytic oxidation reactions of C3H6 and CO over the system calcined between mentioned temperatures were examined on the basis of characterization results and showed that optimum catalytic properties for such reactions were achieved for the perovskite calcined at 600 ℃. 3Ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreatic head:A focus on current diagnostic and surgical concepts显示文摘Complete surgical resection still remains the only possibility of curing pancreatic cancer,however,only 10% of patients undergo curative surgery.Pancreatic resection currently remains the only method of curing patients,and has a 5-year overall survival rate between 7%-34% compared to a median survival of 3-11 mo for unresected cancer.Pancreatic surgery is a technically demanding procedure requiring highly standardized surgical techniques.Nevertheless,even in experienced hands,perioperative morbidity rates(delayed gastric emptying,pancreatic fistula etc.) are as high as 50%.Different strategies to reduce postoperative morbidity,such as different techniques of gastroenteric reconstruction(pancreatico-jejunostomy vs pancreatico-gastrostomy),intraoperative placement of a pancreatic main duct stent or temporary sealing of the main pancreatic duct with fibrin glue have not led to a significant improvement in clinical outcome.The perioperative application of somatostatin or its analogues may decrease the incidence of pancreatic fistulas in cases with soft pancreatic tissue and a small main pancreatic duct(< 3 mm).The positive effects of external pancreatic main duct drainage and antecolic gastrointestinal reconstruction have been observed to decrease the rate of pancreatic fistulas and delayed gastric emptying,respectively.Currently,the concept of extended radical lymphadenectomy has been found to be associated with higher perioperative morbidity,but without any positive impact on overall survival.However,there is growing evidence that portal vein resections can be performed with acceptable low perioperative morbidity and mortality but does not achieve a cure.Mehdi Ouassi Urs Giger Guillaume Louis Igor Sielezneff Bernard Sastre Olivier Farges 2012World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,24:7
4Role of cetuximab in first-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer显示文摘The treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC)has evolved considerably in the last decade,currently allowing most mCRC patients to live more than two years.Monoclonal antibodies targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)and vascular endothelial growth factor play an important role in the current treatment of these patients.However,only antibodies directed against EGFR have a predictive marker of response,which is the mutation status of v-Ki-ras2 Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog(KRAS).Cetuximab has been shown to be effective in patients with KRAS wild-type mCRC.The CRYSTAL study showed that adding cetuximab to FOLFIRI(regimen of irinotecan,infusional fluorouracil and leucovorin)significantly improved results in the first-line treatment of KRAS wildtype mCRC.However,results that evaluate the efficacy of cetuximab in combination with oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy in this setting are contradictory.On the other hand,recent advances in the management of colorectal liver metastases have improved survival in these patients.Adding cetuximab to standard chemotherapy increases the response rate in patients with wild-type KRAS and can thus increase the resectability rate of liver metastases in this group of patients.In this paper we review the different studies assessing the efficacy of cetuximab in the first-line treatment of mCRC.Miguel Jhonatan Sotelo Beatriz García-Paredes Carlos Aguado Javier Sastre Eduardo Díaz-Rubio 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,15:7
5Does an association exist between chronic pancreatitis and liver cirrhosis in alcoholic subjects?显示文摘AIM: To study the possible association between chronic pancreatitis (CP) and liver cirrhosis (LC) of alcoholic etiology,after excluding any other causes.METHODS: One hundred and forty consecutive alcoholic patients were subdivided into three groups: CP (n = 53),LC (n = 57),and asymptomatic alcoholic (n = 30).Clinical,biochemical and morphological characteristics,Child-Pugh index,indocyanine green test,and fecal pancreatic elastase-1 test were assessed.RESULTS: In patients with cirrhosis,major clinical manifestations of CP such as pancreatic pain and steatorrhea,as well as imaging alterations of CP such as calcifications,duct dilation and pseudocysts were absent; insulin-dependent diabetes was present in 5.3% of cases,and elastase-1 test was altered in only 7%,and severely altered in none.In patients with CP,clinical characteristics of cirrhosis such as ascites,encephalopathy and gastrointestinal hemorrhage were present in one case,Child-Pugh grade > A in 5.7%,and altered indocyanine green test in 1.9% cases.In asymptomatic alcoholism,there was only a non-coincident alteration of elastase-1 test and indocyanine test in 14.8% and 10%,respectively,but other characteristics of cirrhosis or CP were absent.An inverse correlation (r = -0.746) between elastase-1 test and indocyanine test was found in alcoholic patients.CONCLUSION: There is a scarce coincidence in clinical and morphological alterations among patients with CP or LC of alcoholic etiology,but an inverse correlation between pancreatic and liver function tests.These findings support that these alcoholic diseases evolve in a different manner and have different etiopathogenesis.Luis Aparisi Luis Sabater Juan Del-Olmo Juan Sastre Miguel-Angel Serra Ricardo Campello Daniel Bautista Abdalla Wassel José-Manuel Rodrigo 2008World Journal of Gastroenterology2008,14,40:4

10Protein phosphatases and chromatin modifying complexes in the inflammatory cascade in acute pancreatitis显示文摘Acute pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas that may lead to systemic inflammatory response syndrome and death due to multiple organ failure. Acinar cells, together with leukocytes, trigger the inflammatory cascade in response to local damage of the pancreas. Amplification of the inflammatory cascade requires up-regulation of proinflammatory cytokines and this process is mediated not only by nuclear factor κB but also by chromatinmodifying complexes and chromatin remodeling. Among the different families of histone acetyltransferases, the p300/CBP family seems to be particularly associated with the inflammatory process. cAMP activates gene expression via the cAMP-responsive element (CRE) and the transcription factor CRE-binding protein (CREB). CREB can be phosphorylated and activated by different kinases, such as protein kinase A and MAPK, and then it recruits the histone acetyltransferase co-activator CREB-binding protein (CBP) and its homologue p300. The recruitment of CBP/p300 and changes in the level of histone acetylation are required for transcription activation. Transcriptional repression is also a dynamic and essential mechanism of down-regulation of genes for resolution of inflammation, which seems to be mediated mainly by protein phosphatases (PP1, PP2A and MKP1) and histone deacetylases(HDACs) .Class HDACs are key transcriptional regulators whose activities are controlled via phosphorylationdependent nucleo/cytoplasmic shuttling. PP2A is responsible for dephosphorylation of class HDACs, triggeringnuclear localization and repression of target genes, whereas phosphorylation triggers cytoplasmic localization leading to activation of target genes. 12Persistence and growth of faecal culturable bacterial indicators in water column and sediments of Vidy Bay,Lake Geneva,Switzerland显示文摘The aims of this study was to investigate the persistence and the growth of culturable bacterial indicators(CBI) including total coliforms(TC) and faecal coliforms represented by Escherichia coli,enterococcus(ENT) ,and aerobic mesophilic bacteria(AMB) in the surface sediments and the water column of Vidy Bay(Lake Geneva,City of Lausanne,Switzerland) . The study was carried out for 60 d using microcosms containing Sewage Treatment Plant(STP) effuent and nonsterile water without CBI,as well as contaminated and non-contaminated sediments. The effects of water temperature and of organic matter associated with sediments on the survival of CBI in the sediments and the water column were observed. The number of CBI colonies in the contaminated sediments of Vidy Bay and in the STP effuent was almost identical in the order of 105-107,104-106,103-105,and 104-107 CFU/100 g sediment or /100 mL water for TC,E. coli,ENT,and AMB respectively. A degradation of CBI was observed in the sediments where organic mater content was low and in the water column at a temperature of 10°C after 5 d of experimentation. In addition,a growth of CBI was observed in the sediment which is rich in organic matter at 20°C. The results of this study indicate:(1) the higher concentrations of the CBI observed in dierent points in the water column of Vidy Bay may not be explained only by the recent contribution of the three potential sources of the Bay contamination including STP and the Chamberonne and Flon Rivers,but also by the persistence,removal from sediment and multiplication of CBI in the sediment and water column;(2) the sediment of Vidy Bay constitute a reservoir of CBI and can even support their growth;and(3) the CBI not only survive in sediments,but also can be remobilized and increased in the water column,therefore,it become a permanent microbiological pollution in Vidy Bay.POTE John HALLER Laurence KOTTELAT Régis SASTRE Vincent ARPAGAUS Philippe WILDI Walter 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,1:2
