1Trehalose Biosynthesis in Response to Abiotic Stresses显示文摘Trehalose is a non-reducing disaccharide that is present in diverse organisms ranging from bacteria and fungi to invertebrates, in which it serves as an energy source, osmolyte or protein/membrane protectant. The occurrence of trehalose and trehalose biosynthesis pathway in plants has been discovered recently. Multiple studies have revealed regulatory roles of trehalose-6-phosphate, a precursor of trehalose, in sugar metabolism, growth and development in plants. Trehalose levels are generally quite low in plants but may alter in response to environmental stresses. Transgenic plants overexpressing microbial trehalose biosynthesis genes have been shown to contain increased levels of trehalose and display drought, salt and cold tolerance. In-silico expression profiling of all Arabidopsis trehalose-6-phosphate synthases (TPSs) and trehalose-6-phosphate phosphatases (TPPs) revealed that certain classes of TPS and TPP genes are differentially regulated in response to a variety of abiotic stresses. 2A numerical study of summer ozone concentration over the Kanto area of Japan using the MM5/CMAQ model显示文摘We assessed the ability of the MM5/CMAQ model to predict ozone (O 3) air quality over the Kanto area and to investigate the factors that affect simulation of O 3.We find that the coupled MM5/CMAQ model is a useful tool for the analysis of urban environmental problems.The simulation results were compared with observational data and were found to accurately replicate most of the important observed characteristics.The initial and boundary conditions were found to have a significant effect on simulated O3 concentrations.The results show that on hot and dry days with high O3 concentration,the CMAQ model provides a poor simulation of O3 maxima when using initial and boundary conditions derived from the CMAQ default data.The simulation of peak O3 concentrations is improved with the JCAP initial and boundary conditions.On mild days,the default CMAQ initial and boundary conditions provide a more realistic simulation.Meteorological conditions also have a strong impact on the simulated distribution and accumulation of O3 concentrations in this area.Low O3 concentrations are simulated during mild weather conditions,and high concentrations are predicted during hot and dry weather.By investigating the effects of different meteorological conditions on each model process,we find that advection and diffusion differ the most between the two meteorological regimes.Thus,differences in the winds that govern the transport of O3 and its precursors are likely the most important meteorological drivers of ozone concentration over the central Kanto area.Mai Khiem Ryozo Ooka Hong Huang Hiroshi Hayami 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2:12
3Gain-scheduling control of a floating offshore wind turbine above rated wind speed显示文摘This paper presents an application of gain-scheduling(GS) control techniques to a floating offshore wind turbine on a barge platform for above rated wind speed cases. Special emphasis is placed on the dynamics variation of the wind turbine system caused by plant nonlinearity with respect to wind speed. The turbine system with the dynamics variation is represented by a linear parameter-varying(LPV) model, which is derived by interpolating linearized models at various operating wind speeds. To achieve control objectives of regulating power capture and minimizing platform motions, both linear quadratic regulator(LQR) GS and LPV GS controller design techniques are explored. The designed controllers are evaluated in simulations with the NREL 5 MW wind turbine model, and compared with the baseline proportional-integral(PI) GS controller and non-GS controllers. 4Investigation on heat transfer enhancement and pressure loss of double swirl chambers cooling显示文摘By merging two standard swirl chambers,an alternative cooling configuration named double swirl chambers(DSC)has been developed.In the DSC cooling configuration,the main physical phenomena of the swirl flow in swirl chamber and the advantages of swirl flow in heat transfer augmentation are maintained.Additionally,three new physical phenomena can be found in DSC cooling configuration,which result in a further improvement of the heat transfer:(1)impingement effect has been observed,(2)internal heat exchange has been enhanced between fluids in two swirls,and(3)“∞”shape swirl has been generated because of cross effect between two chambers,which improves the mixing of the fluids.Because of all these improvements,the DSC cooling configuration leads to a higher globally-averaged thermal performance parameter(Nu/Nu_(∞)/(f/f0)^(1/3))than standard swirl chamber.In particular,at the inlet region,the augmentation of the heat transfer is nearly 7.5 times larger than the fully developed non-swirl turbulent flow and the circumferentially averaged Nusselt number coefficient is 41%larger than the standard swirl chamber.Within the present work,a further investigation on the DSC cooling configuration has been focused on the influence of geometry parameters e.g.merging ratio of chambers and aspect ratio of inlet duct on the cooling perfomance.The results show a very large influence of these geometry parameters in heat transfer enhancement and pressure drop ratio.Compared with the basic configuration of DSC cooling,the improved configuration with 20%to 23%merging ratio shows the highest globally-averaged themal performance parameter.With the same cross section area in tangential inlet ducts,the DSC cooling channel with larger aspect ratio shows larger heat transfer enhancement and at the same time reduced pressure drop ratio,which results in a better globally-averaged themal performance parameter.Gang Lin Karsten Kusterer Dieter Bohn Takao Sugimoto Ryozo Tanaka Masahide Kazari 2013Propulsion and Power Research2013,2,3:3
5Conjugate calculation of a film-cooled blade for improvement of the leading edge cooling configuration显示文摘Great efforts are still put into the design process of advanced film-cooling configurations.In particular,the vanes and blades of turbine front stages have to be cooled extensively for a safe operation.The conjugate calculation technique is used for the three dimensional thermal load prediction of a fim-cooled test blade of a modern gas turbine.Thus,it becomes possible to take into account the interaction of internal flows,external flow,and heat transfer without the prescription of heat transfer ooefficients.The focus of the investigation is laid on the leading edge part of the blade.The numerical model consists of all internal flow passages and cooling hole rows at the leading edge.Furthermore,the radial gap flow is also part of the model.The comparison with thermal pyrometer measurements shows that with respect to regions with high thermal load a qualitatively and quantitatively good agreement of the conjugate results and the measurements can be found.In particular,the region in the vicinity of the mid-span section is exposed to a higher thermal load,which requires further improvement of the cooling arrangement.Altogether the achieved results demonstrate that the conjugate calculation technique is applicable for reasonable prediction of three-dimensional thermal load of complex cooling configurations for blades.Norbert Moritz Karsten Kusterer Dieter Bohn Takao Sugimoto Ryozo Tanaka Tomoki Taniguchi 2013Propulsion and Power Research2013,2,1:3

7Double-loop robust tracking control for micro machine tools显示文摘This paper addresses double-loop robust tracking controller design of the miniaturized linear motor drive precision stage with mass and damping ratio uncertainties.As an inner-loop,a disturbance observer(DOB) is employed to suppress exogenous low frequency disturbances such as friction and cutting force.To further eliminate the residual disturbance and to guarantee the robust tracking to the reference input,a-synthesis outer-loop controller is designed.For eliminating the steady state error,a technique is proposed to design the-synthesis outer-loop controller with an integrator.A guideline to select the bandwidth of the Q-filter in the DOB is provided.Simulations using a model of a prototype micro-milling machine indicate that the proposed outer-loop synthesis scheme is superior to the H suboptimal control in disturbance rejection performance and steady state tracking performance.Furthermore,it is shown experimentally that the proposed double-loop robust tracking controller improves the tracking performance of the stage by 29.6% over PID control with a DOB inner-loop.FAN ShiXun NAGAMUNE Ryozo FAN DaPeng 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,11:2

10H∞position transfer and regulation for floating offshore wind turbines显示文摘This paper proposes H∞controller design for platform position transfer and regulation of floating offshore wind turbines.The platform movability of floating wind turbines can be utilized in mitigating the wake effect in the wind farm,thereby maximizing the wind farm's total power capture and efficiency.The controller is designed so that aerodynamic force is adjusted to meet the three objectives simultaneously,that is,1)to generate the desired electrical power level,2)to achieve the desired platform position,and 3)to suppress the platform oscillation.To acquire sufficient aerodynamic force to move the heavy platform,the pitch-to-stall blade pitching strategy is taken instead of the commonly-used pitch-to-feather strategy.The desired power level is attained by the standard constant-power strategy for the generator torque,while Hstate-feedback control of blade pitch and nacelle yaw angles is adopted for the position regulation and platform oscillation suppression.Weighting constants for the H∞controller design are adjusted to take the trade-off between the position regulation accuracy and the platform motion reduction.To demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed controler,a virtual 5-MW semi-submersible wind turbine is considered.Simulation results show that the designed H∞controller successfully accomplishes the platform position transfer and regulation as well as the platform oscillation reduction against wind and wave disturbances,and that it outperforms a previously-proposed linear quadratic controller with an integrator.Eduardo Eribert ESCOBAR AQUINO Ryozo NAGAMUNE 2020Control Theory and Technology2020,18,3:2
