1Conjugate calculation of a film-cooled blade for improvement of the leading edge cooling configuration显示文摘Great efforts are still put into the design process of advanced film-cooling configurations.In particular,the vanes and blades of turbine front stages have to be cooled extensively for a safe operation.The conjugate calculation technique is used for the three dimensional thermal load prediction of a fim-cooled test blade of a modern gas turbine.Thus,it becomes possible to take into account the interaction of internal flows,external flow,and heat transfer without the prescription of heat transfer ooefficients.The focus of the investigation is laid on the leading edge part of the blade.The numerical model consists of all internal flow passages and cooling hole rows at the leading edge.Furthermore,the radial gap flow is also part of the model.The comparison with thermal pyrometer measurements shows that with respect to regions with high thermal load a qualitatively and quantitatively good agreement of the conjugate results and the measurements can be found.In particular,the region in the vicinity of the mid-span section is exposed to a higher thermal load,which requires further improvement of the cooling arrangement.Altogether the achieved results demonstrate that the conjugate calculation technique is applicable for reasonable prediction of three-dimensional thermal load of complex cooling configurations for blades.Norbert Moritz Karsten Kusterer Dieter Bohn Takao Sugimoto Ryozo Tanaka Tomoki Taniguchi 2013Propulsion and Power Research2013,2,1:3
2Repeated Multiview Imaging for Estimating Seedling Tiller Counts of Wheat Genotypes Using Drones显示文摘Early generation breeding nurseries with thousands of genotypes in single-row plots are well suited to capitalize on high throughput phenotyping.Nevertheless,methods to monitor the intrinsically hard-to-phenotype early development of wheat are yet rare.We aimed to develop proxy measures for the rate of plant emergence,the number of tillers,and the beginning of stem elongation using drone-based imagery.We used RGB images(ground sampling distance of 3mm pixel-1)acquired by repeated flights(≥2 flights per week)to quantify temporal changes of visible leaf area.To exploit the information contained in the multitude of viewing angles within the RGB images,we processed them to multiview ground cover images showing plant pixel fractions.Based on these images,we trained a support vector machine for the beginning of stem elongation(GS30).Using the GS30 as key point,we subsequently extracted plant and tiller counts using a watershed algorithm and growth modeling,respectively.Our results show that determination coefficients of predictions are moderate for plant count(R^(2)=0:52),but strong for tiller count(R^(2)=0:86)and GS30(R^(2)=0:77).Heritabilities are superior to manual measurements for plant count and tiller count,but inferior for GS30 measurements.Increasing the selection intensity due to throughput may overcome this limitation.Multiview image traits can replace hand measurements with high efficiency(85-223%).We therefore conclude that multiview images have a high potential to become a standard tool in plant phenomics.Lukas Roth Moritz Camenzind Helge Aasen Lukas Kronenberg Christoph Barendregt Karl-Heinz Camp Achim Walter Norbert Kirchgessner Andreas Hund 2020Plant Phenomics2020,2,1:2
3Covalent linkage of sulfated hyaluronan to the collagen scaffold Mucograft® enhances scaffold stability and reduces proinflammatory macrophage activation in vivo显示文摘Sulfated glycosaminoglycans(sGAG)show interaction with biological mediator proteins.Although collagen-based biomaterials are widely used in clinics,their combination with high-sulfated hyaluronan(sHA3)is unexplored.This study aims to functionalize a collagen-based scaffold(Mucograft®)with sHA3 via electrostatic(sHA3/PBS)or covalent binding to collagen fibrils(sHA3+EDC/NHS).Crosslinking without sHA3 was used as a control(EDC/NHS Ctrl).The properties of the sHA3-functionalized materials were characterized.In vitro growth factor and cytokine release after culturing with liquid platelet-rich fibrin was performed by means of ELISA.The cellular reaction to the biomaterials was analyzed in a subcutaneous rat model.The study revealed that covalent linking of sHA3 to collagen allowed only a marginal release of sHA3 over 28 days in contrast to electrostatically bound sHA3.sHA3+EDC/NHS scaffolds showed reduced vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),transforming growth factor beta 1(TGF-β1)and enhanced interleukin-8(IL-8)and epithelial growth factor(EGF)release in vitro compared to the other scaffolds.Both sHA3/PBS and EDC/NHS Ctrl scaffolds showed a high proinflammatory reaction(M1:CD-68+/CCR7+)and induced multinucleated giant cell(MNGC)formation in vivo.Only sHA3+EDC/NHS scaffolds reduced the proinflammatory macrophage M1 response and did not induce MNGC formation during the 30 days.SHA3+EDC/NHS scaffolds had a stable structure in vivo and showed sufficient integration into the implantation region after 30 days,whereas EDC/NHS Ctrl scaffolds underwent marked disintegration and lost their initial structure.In summary,functionalized collagen(sHA3+EDC/NHS)modulates the inflammatory response and is a promising biomaterial as a stable scaffold for full-thickness skin regeneration in the future.Sarah Al-Maawi Sandra Rother Norbert Halfter Karen M.Fiebig Juliane Moritz Stephanie Moeller Matthias Schnabelrauch Charles James Kirkpatrick Robert Sader Hans-Peter Wiesmann Dieter Scharnweber Vera Hintze Shahram Ghanaati 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,2:1
