| 1 | MdATG18a overexpression improves basal thermotolerance in transgenic apple by decreasing damage to chloroplasts显示文摘High temperature is an abiotic stress factor that threatens plant growth and development.Autophagy in response to heat stress involves the selective removal of heat-induced protein complexes.Previously,we showed that a crucial autophagy protein from apple,MdATG18a,has a positive effect on drought tolerance.In the present study,we treated transgenic apple(Malus domestica)plants overexpressing MdATG18a with high temperature and found that autophagy protected them from heat stress.Overexpression of MdATG18a in apple enhanced antioxidase activity and contributed to the production of increased beneficial antioxidants under heat stress.Transgenic apple plants exhibited higher photosynthetic capacity,as shown by the rate of CO_(2) assimilation,the maximum photochemical efficiency of photosystem II(PSII),the effective quantum yield,and the electron transport rates in photosystems I and II(PSI and PSII,respectively).We also detected elevated autophagic activity and reduced damage to chloroplasts in transgenic plants compared to WT plants.In addition,the transcriptional activities of several HSP genes were increased in transgenic apple plants.In summary,we propose that autophagy plays a critical role in basal thermotolerance in apple,primarily through a combination of enhanced antioxidant activity and reduced chloroplast damage. | Liuqing Huo Xun Sun Zijian Guo Xin Jia Runmin Che Yiming Sun Yanfei Zhu Ping Wang Xiaoqing Gong Fengwang Ma | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 9 |
| 2 | Review of low timing jitter mode-locked fiber lasers and applications in dual-comb absolute distance measurement显示文摘Passively mode-locked fiber lasers emit femtosecond pulse trains with excellent short-term stability. The quantum-limited timing jitter of a free running femtosecond erbium-doped fiber laser working at room temperature is considerably below one femtosecond at high Fourier frequency. The ultrashort pulse train with ultralow timing jitter enables absolute time-of-flight measurements based on a dual-comb implementation, which is typically composed of a pair of optical frequency combs generated by femtosecond lasers. Dead-zone-free absolute distance measurement with sub-micrometer precision and kHz update rate has been routinely achieved with a dual-comb configuration, which is promising for a number of precision manufacturing applications, from large step-structure measurements prevalent in microelectronic profilometry to three coordinate measurements in large-scale aerospace manufacturing and shipbuilding. In this paper, we first review the sub-femtosecond precision timing jitter characterization methods and approaches for ultralow timing jitter mode-locked fiber laser design. Then, we provide an overview of the state-of-the-art dual-comb absolute ranging technology in terms of working principles, experimental implementations, and measurement precisions. Finally, we discuss the impact of quantum-limited timing jitter on the dual-comb ranging precision at a high update rate. | 4 | Discovery of double-peaking potassic volcanic rocks in Langshan Group of the Tanyaokou hydrothermal- sedimentary deposit, Inner Mongolia, and its indicating significance显示文摘It is revealed that the protolith of gray-light brown potash-feldspar-leucogranulites and granulites in the 2nd formation of the LG in Tanyaokou deposit are quartz kerotophyre of synsedimentary eruption based on the following facts and features: (1) The rocks look compact and homogeneous without obvious crystals with naked eyes; (2) they contain blastoporphyritic or glomeroporphyritic and blasto-crystalloclastic crystals consisting of quartz with wavy extinction and albite with obvious alteration and deformation; (3) they also contain radiated and fibrous blasto-microspherulitic texture and swallow-tailed bifurcate and blasto-hollow-skeleton crystal texture, representing the rapid cooling characteristic of the magma during submarine volcanic eruption; (4) the major chemical compositions of the rocks are: SiO2 = 70.80%―76.00%, K2O (4.83%―6.22%)>Na2O(2.78%―3.80%), and K2O+Na2O = 8.63%―9.00%; and (5) their petro-chemical diagrams indicate that they are volcanic rocks. Together with the characteristic that they occur in the same sequence with potassic spilite (SiO2 = 46.12%―50.68%, K2O = 4.23%―5.93%>Na2O = 2.15%―3.14%, K2O+Na2O = 6.51%―8.08%), it can be confirmed that the vol-canics occurring in the 2nd Formation of the LG in Tanyaokou district are double-peaking potas-sic volcanic rocks. The discovery, together with the tuffs with ore minerals and the distribution of lead isotopic as well as the value of Co/Ni of pyrites >1 showing the obvious endogenic metali-zation, can prove that the Tanyaokou deposit is an untypical SEDEX-type deposit formed in the extension fault basin in the Mesoproterozonic aulacogen of the northern margin of the North China Platform, and its metallogenesis is related to the synsedimentary volcanic activities and the hydrothermal exhalation, and both the ore-forming material source and volcanics came from mantle or lower crust. These facts mentioned above, together with the meta-volcanic rocks (double-peaking) found in the Dongshengmiao and Huogeqi districts and the host stratigraphic sequence of LG, can further prove that the Mesoproterozoic aulacogen of passive continental margin of Langshan-Zhaertaishan area had been unevenly expanded. | 6 | Ore-forming Response to Syndepositional Submarine Volcanism in Langshan-Zhaertai Mesoproterozoic SEDEX Ore Belt, Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘Ore forming process of the Dongshengmiao, Huogeqi, Tanyaokou and Jiashengpan deposits in Langshan Zhaertai Mesoproterozoic SEDEX metallogenic belt is closely related to the syndepositional volcanic activities based on the following facts: (1) The Sm Nd isochron age of the basic volcanic rocks varies from 1 491 Ma to 1 824 Ma (more than or close to the model age of the lead isotope of all sulfide minerals) in these deposits, with ε (Nd, t ) =(3.48-6.40)±0.80, whose REE composition is enriched in LREE and depleted in HREE, indicating that these volcanic rocks were derived from the mantle or lower crust. (2) The REE composition of some Pb Zn Py ores is also enriched in LREE and depleted in HREE. The chondrite normalized REE patterns are similar to those of the basic volcanic rocks. (3) In the lead isotope composition diagram of Doe and Zartman, most of sphalerite, galena, pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite are plotted on both sides of the line for the mantle or between the lines for the mantle and lower crust. (4) Cobalt content of some pyrites is much higher than their nickel content ( w (Co)/ w (Ni)= 11.91- 12.19). (5) Some volcanic blocks and debrises have been picked out from some pyrite and pyrrhotite ores. (6) All Zn Pb Cu Fe sulfide orebodies in these deposits occur in the strata overlying the metamorphic volcanic rocks in the only second ore bearing formation. The Jiashengpan deposit lacks in syndepositional volcanic rocks in the host succession, only Pb and Zn occur without Cu, but the Dongshengmiao, Tanyaokou and Huogeqi deposits with syndepositonal volcanic rocks in the host succession contain Cu, indicating the relatively high ore forming temperatures, besides Pb and Zn. | 8 | Issues on China Regional Metallogeny显示文摘According to geotectonic evolution and regional lithospheric features, the authors proposed six metallogenic domains in China: (1) Tianshan Xingmeng metallogenic domain, (2) Tarim North China metallogenic domain, (3) Qinling Qilian Kunlun metallogenic domain, (4) Yangtze metallogenic domain, (5) South China metallogenic domain and (6) Himalaya Sanjiang metallogenic domain. In this paper, the authors also discuss, on the bases of geotectonic background and metallogenic evolutionary history, some metallogenic features of China: (1) A large percentage of ore formation occurred in paleo continental margins, including continental marginal rift and continental marginal accretionary orogenic belt. The majority of main mineral deposits are discovered on continental margins. (2) Superimposition of mineralization, favored the building up of giant and large mineral deposits, but often made the mineral deposits more complex in composition (associated components), morphology and structure. (3) Mineralization of crust derived anatectic granite is intensive and especially concentrated in the South China metallogenic domain. Mineralizations, including W, Sn and REE, are the products of long and mature development of W Sn polymetal rich earth crust in the metamorphic basement of South China Caledonian fold belt. (4) Epithermal ore forming system is well developed in the southwest part of Yangtze continental block. Ore deposits of Hg, Sb, As, Au, Ag and U densely occur in sedimentary strata of the Late Paleozoic to Triassic. Ge, Tl, Te can also constitute independent ore deposits. (5) Ore formation caused by tectonic dynamic activities is distinctive. Small scale continental blocks of China display intensive activities, which played a widespread and diverse role in ore control. Junctions of faults, synchronous faults, shear zone structure and metamorphic core complex are main ore control structures. (6) The gold mineralization is complex and diversified. The greenstone type gold ores in China were emplaced in the Mesozoic Yanshanian epoch after repeated mineralization and enrichment. As a result, the co product gold constituted 32 % of the gold output of China. (7) The mineralization is characterized by multiple stages and heterogeneity. The metallogenic epoch of China almost covers all geological periods. The general trend, the increase in intensity with time, culminates in Mesozoic Cenozoic and so do the varieties of ores and types of mineral deposits. (8) Ore mineralization culminated on continental margin in the Mesozoic, especially in the Yanshanian orogeny of the east part of China, resulting in the diversity of ores and intensive mineralization. The two critical parameters of the travel delay and queue length, which reflect the temporal and spatial properties of incident-induced congestion, cannot be directly determined from commonly used loop sensors. The modified queuing diagram is used here to quantify incident-induced queues and travel delays on signalized arteries using sensor data from the targeted and upstream links. | 12 | Overexpression of MdATG8i improves water use efficiency in transgenic apple by modulating photosynthesis, osmotic balance, and autophagic activity under moderate water deficit显示文摘Water deficit is one of the major limiting factors for apple(Malus domestica)production on the Loess Plateau,a major apple cultivation area in China.The identification of genes related to the regulation of water use efficiency(WUE)is a crucial aspect of crop breeding programs.As a conserved degradation and recycling mechanism in eukaryotes,autophagy has been reported to participate in various stress responses.However,the relationship between autophagy and WUE regulation has not been explored.We have shown that a crucial autophagy protein in apple,MdATG8i,plays a role in improving salt tolerance.Here,we explored its biological function in response to long-term moderate drought stress.The results showed that MdATG8i-overexpressing(MdATG8i-OE)apple plants exhibited higher WUE than wild-type(WT)plants under long-term moderate drought conditions.Plant WUE can be increased by improving photosynthetic efficiency.Osmoregulation plays a critical role in plant stress resistance and adaptation.Under long-term drought conditions,the photosynthetic capacity and accumulation of sugar and amino acids were higher in MdATG8i-OE plants than in WT plants.The increased photosynthetic capacity in the OE plants could be attributed to their ability to maintain optimal stomatal aperture,organized chloroplasts,and strong antioxidant activity.MdATG8i overexpression also promoted autophagic activity,which was likely related to the changes described above.In summary,our results demonstrate that MdATG8i-OE apple lines exhibited higher WUE than WT under long-term moderate drought conditions because they maintained robust photosynthesis,effective osmotic adjustment processes,and strong autophagic activity. | Xin Jia Ke Mao Ping Wang Yu Wang Xumei Jia Liuqing Huo Xun Sun Runmin Che Xiaoqing Gong Fengwang Ma | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 1 |
