| 2 | Carbon materials for stable Li metal anodes: Challenges, solutions, and outlook显示文摘Lithium(Li)metal is regarded as the ultimate anode for next-generation Li-ion batteries due to its highest specific capacity and lowest electrochemical potential.However,the Li metal anode has limitations,including virtually infinite volume change,nonuniform Li deposition,and an unstable electrode-electrolyte interface,which lead to rapid capacity degradation and poor cycling stability,significantly hindering its practical application.To address these issues,intensive efforts have been devoted toward accommodating and guiding Li deposition as well as stabilizing the interface using various carbon materials,which have demonstrated excellent effectiveness,benefiting from their vast variety and excellent tunability of the structure-property relationship.This review is intended as a guide through the fundamental challenges of Li metal anodes to the corresponding solutions utilizing carbon materials.The specific functionalities and mechanisms of carbon materials for stabilizing Li metal anodes in these solutions are discussed in detail.Apart from the stabilization of the Li metal anode in liquid electrolytes,attention has also been paid to the review of anode-free Li metal batteries and solid-state batteries enabled by strategies based on carbon materials.Furthermore,we have reviewed the unresolved challenges and presented our outlook on the implementation of carbon materials for stabilizing Li metal anodes in practical applications. | Qiongqiong Lu Yulin Jie Xiangqi Meng Ahmad Omar Daria Mikhailova Ruiguo Cao Shuhong Jiao Yan Lu Yaolin Xu | 2021 | Carbon Energy2021,3,6: | 6 |
| 3 | Optimal dietary copper requirements and relative bioavailability for weanling pigs fed either copper proteinate or tribasic copper chloride显示文摘Background: The objective of this study was to determine the effects of supplementing Cu on growth performance, Cu metabolism and Cu-related enzyme activities of weanling pigs fed diets with two different Cu sources, and to estimate optimal Cu requirements and relative bioavailability from these two sources for pigs.Methods: Weanling pigs were allocated to 14 treatments arranged factorially, including 6 added Cu levels(5, 10,20, 40, 80, 160 mg/kg), and 2 mineral sources(tribasic Cu chloride, TBCC and copper proteinate, Cu Pro), as well as one negative control(0 mg/kg added Cu level) and one maximum allowed level treatment(200 mg/kg TBCC) for the entire 38-d experiment. Growth performance, mineral status and enzyme activities were measured at the end of this study.Results: Increasing levels of Cu showed linear and quadratic responses(P < 0.01) for final BW, ADG and FCR regardless of the sources. Supplementation with TBCC(> 80 mg/kg) and Cu Pro(> 20 mg/kg) significantly decreased(P < 0.05) diarrhea incidence of weanling pigs. There were linear and quadratic increases(P < 0.01) in bile, hepatic,and intestinal Cu concentrations, fecal Cu contents, and plasma enzyme activities(alkaline phosphatase,ceruloplasmin, Cu, Zn-Superoxide dismutase(Cu/Zn SOD), and glutathione peroxidase), whereas plasma malondialdehyde decreased(P < 0.01) linearly and quadratically as dietary Cu level increased. Similarly, pigs fed Cu Pro absorbed and retained more Cu and excreted less Cu than those fed TBCC when supplemented 80 mg/kg and above. Optimal dietary Cu requirements for pigs from 28 to 66 d of age estimated based on fitted broken-line models(P < 0.05) of bile Cu, plasma Cu/Zn SOD and growth performance were 93–140 mg/kg from TBCC, and 63–98 mg/kg from Cu Pro accordingly. According to slope ratios from multiple linear regression, the bioavailability value of Cu Pro relative to TBCC(100%) was 156–263%(P < 0.01).Conclusion: The findings indicated that Cu recommendation from current NRC(5–6 mg/kg) was not sufficient to meet the high requirement of weanling pigs. | 8 | AT_1 receptor in rostral ventrolateral medulla mediating blunted baroreceptor reflex in spontaneously hypertensive rats显示文摘AIM: To determine the role of AT1 receptor in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) in mediating the blunted baroreceptor reflex in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). METHODS: Intravenous injections of graded doses of phenylephrine (1, 5, 10, 20, and 40μg/kg) increased the blood pressure to elicit the baroreceptor reflex in both SHR and normotensive Wistar rats anesthetized with urethane. The baroreceptor reflex sensitivity (BRS) was determined before and after microinjection of Ang II, losartan, or AT1 receptor antisense oligodeoxynucleotides into the RVLM. AT1 receptor protein level in the RVLM was measured by Western blotting. RESULTS: The BRS was significantly decreased in SHR compared with normal rats. Bilateral microinjection of AT~ receptor antagonist losartan (250 nmol/h) into the RVLM partly reversed the blunted BRS in SHR, but had no significant effect on the BRS in normal rats. Ang II (1.5 nmol/h) significantly inhibited the BRS in normal rats, which was completely abolished by pretreatment with losartan. However, no significant change in the BRS was observed after microinjection of Ang Ⅱ into the RVLM in SHR. Bilateral microinjection of AT1 receptor antisense oligodeoxynucleotides (ASODN) into the RVLM partially recovered the blunted BRS in SHR after 3 h, but no significant change in the BRS was observed in normal rats. The AT1 receptor protein level significantly decreased after administration of ASODN. | 9 | Effect of calcium formate as an additive on desulfurization in power plants显示文摘SO_2 in flue gas needs to be eliminated to alleviate air pollution. As the quality of coal decreases and environmental standard requirements become more stringent, the highefficiency desulfurization of flue gas faces more and more challenges. As an economical and environmentally friendly solution, the effect of calcium formate as an additive on desulfurization efficiency in the wet flue gas desulfurization(WFGD) process was studied for the first time. Improvement of the desulfurization efficiency was achieved with limited change in p H after calcium formate was added into the reactor, and it was found to work better than other additives tested. The positive effects were further verified in a power plant, which showed that adding calcium formate could promote the dissolution of calcium carbonate, accelerate the growth of gypsum crystals and improve the efficiency of desulfurization. | 12 | Molybdenum-doped ordered L1_(0)-PdZn nanosheets for enhanced oxygen reduction electrocatalysis显示文摘Ultrathin Pd-based two-dimensional(2D)nanosheets(NSs)with tunable physicochemical properties have emerged as promising candidate for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).Unfortunately,structurally ordered Pd-based NSs can be hardly prepared as high temperature annealing(>600℃)is necessary for disorder to order phase transition,making it a considerable challenge for morphology control.Herein,a new class of ultrathin structurally ordered Mo-doped L1_(0)-PdZn NSs with curved geometry and abundant defects/lattice distortions is reported as an efficient oxygen reduction electrocatalyst in alkaline solution.It is found that Mo(CO)_(6) serves as reducing agent and Mo source to generate the unique ordered 2D morphology,which leads to the significantly modified electronic structure.The developed L1_(0)-Mo-PdZn NSs exhibit excellent ORR mass activity of 2.6 A mg_(Pd)^(−1) at 0.9 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode,31.5 and 17.6 times higher than those of Pd/C and Pt/C,respectively,outperforming most of the reported Pdbased ORR electrocatalsyts.Impressively,L1_(0)-Mo-PdZn NSs is extremely stable for ORR,with only 2.3% activity loss after 10000 potential cycles.Density functional theory study suggests that ordered L1_(0) structure and Mo doping can raise the vacancy formation energy of Pd atom and thus promote the ORR stability. | Jiashun Liang Yu Xia Xuan Liu Fanyang Huang Jinjia Liu Shenzhou Li Tanyuan Wang Shuhong Jiao Ruiguo Cao Jiantao Han Hsing-Lin Wang Qing Li | 2022 | SusMat2022,2,3: | 1 |

| 15 | Structural analysis and design of frost resistance function for subgrade of high-speed railway ballasted track in cold regions显示文摘According to the technical characteristics of short fixed wheelbase of a high-speed carriage, a subgrade-track integrated space mechanical response analysis model is proposed for trains under the action of biaxial load after the comparison of the stress distribution characteristics of the ballast track subgrade bed structures for high-speed railway under the action of uniaxial load and biaxial load. The loading threshold value(high-cycle long-term dynamic strength) under the circumstance where the cumulative deformation of subgrade structure gradually develops and finally reaches the convergent state, and its relationship with the foundation coefficient K30 were deduced, based on the characteristics of cumulative deformation evolution obtained from the unit structure filling model test under the action of cyclic loading. In view of structure stability and frost resistance requirements of the railway subgrade in cold regions, technical conditions to maintain good service performance of subgrade structure of high-speed railway ballasted track are discussed and analyzed. Study results show that the additive effect manifests itself obviously for railway train bogies under the action of biaxial load than uniaxial load, which has a significant dynamic effect on the subgrade bed bottom and a slight effect on the surface layer. Thus, the adoption of a biaxial load model in the design of a high-speed railway subgrade accurately reflects the vehicle load. Pursuant to the structure design principle, the design method of the subgrade structure of high-speed railway ballasted track is proposed to meet the technical requirements such as structural strength, bearing stiffness and high-cyclic and long-term stability. Technical indicators are obtained for the variation of thickness of the surface layer of reinforced subgrade bed in the double-layer subgrade mode along with the change of K30 at the subgrade bed bottom. The double-layer structure mode of 'closure on the upper layer and drainage on the lower layer' was proposed in order to meet the waterproofing and drainage requirements of the upper layer of the subgrade bed in cold regions.
