3Occupant evacuation model based on cellular automata in fire显示文摘By applying the rules set in traffic flow and pedestrian flow models, a basic cellular automata model is presented to simulate occupant evacuation in fire. Some extended models are introduced to study the special phenomena of evacuation from the fire room. The key of the models is the introduction of the danger grade which makes the route choice convenient and reasonable. Fire not only influences the emotional and behavioral characteristics of an individual but also affects his physical constitution, which reduces his maximal possible velocity. The models consider these influence factors by applying a set of simple but effective rules. It is needed to emphasize that all rules are established according to the essential phenomenon in fire evacuation, that is, all the occupants would try to move to the safest place as fast as possible. 4Oroxindin inhibits macrophage NLRP3 inflammasome activation in DSS-induced ulcerative colitis in mice via suppressing TXNIP-dependent NF-κB pathway显示文摘Oroxindin is a flavonoid isolated from the traditional Chinese medicine Huang-Qin,which has shown various pharmacological activities including anti-inflammatory,antitumor,antioxidant,etc.Thus far,the effect of oroxindin on colonic inflammation and the underlying mechanism remain unknown.In this study,we investigated the tissue distribution of oroxindin and its therapeutic effects on ulcerative colitis(UC)as well as the underlying mechanisms.UC model was established in mice by administrating dextran sulfate sodium(DSS)in drinking water for 7 d.We first showed that oroxindin was largely absorbed by the colon as an active ingredient after normal mice received Huang-Qin-Tang,a traditional Chinese medicine decoction.UC mice were then treated with oroxindin(12.5,25,50 mg-kg^-1·d^-1,i.g.)for 10 d.We found that oroxindin treatment greatly suppressed massive macrophages infiltration and attenuated pathological changes in colonic tissue.Furthermore,oroxindin treatment significantly inhibited the generation of IL-13 and IL-18 in the colon via inhibiting the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor 3(NLRP3)inflammasome formation and activation.In cultured macrophages,LPS induced NLRp3 inflammasome formation and caspase-1 activation,which were suppressed by oroxindin(12.5-50μM).In LPS-treated macrophages,oroxindin dose-dependently restored the expression of TXNIP protein,leading to suppressing TXNIP-dependent NF-κB activation.In conclusion,these results demonstrate that oroxindin could be absorbed by the colon and attenuate inflammatory responses via inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome formation and activation,which is related to the inhibitory effect on TXNIP-dependent NF-κB-signaling pathway.Hence,oroxindin has the potential of becoming an effective drug for treating UC.Qi Liu Rui Zuo Kai Wang Fei-fei Nong Ya-jun Fu Shao-wei Huang Zeng-feng Pan Yi Zhang Xia Luo Xiang-liang Deng Xiao-xue Zhang Lian Zhou Yang Chen 2020Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,6:15

8Multiscale carbon foam confining single iron atoms for efficient electrocatalytic CO2 reduction to CO显示文摘Electrocatalytic CO2 reduction to CO is a sustainable process for energy conversion.However,this process is still hindered by the diffusi limited mass transfer,low electrical conductivity and catalytic activity.Therefore,new strategies for catalyst design should be adopted to solve these problems and improve the electrocatalytic performa nee for CO production.Herein,we report a multiscale carb on foam confining〔single iron atoms prepared with the assistant of S1O2 template.The pore-enriched environment at the macro-scale facilitates the diffusion of reacta nts and products.The graphe ne nano sheets at the nano-scale promote the charge tran sfer duri ng the reaction.The single iron atoms con fined in carb on matrix at the atomic-scale provide the active sites for electrocatalytic CO2 reductio n to CO.The optimized catalyst achieves a CO Faradaic efficiency of 94.9%at a moderate potential of-0.5 V vs.RHE.Furthermore,the performance can be maintained over 60 hours due to the stable single iron atoms coordi nated with four n itroge n atoms in the carb on matrix.This work provides a promising strategy to improve both the activity and stability of single atom catalysts for electrocatalytic CO2 reduction to CO.Zheng Zhang Chao Ma Yunchuan Tu Rui Si Jie Wei Shuhong Zhang Zhen Wang Jian-Feng Li Ye Wang Dehui Deng 2019Nano Research2019,12,9:11

11Controlled synthesis of single cobalt atom catalysts via a facile one-pot pyrolysis for efficient oxygen reduction and hydrogen evolution reactions显示文摘Metal-nitrogen doped carbon catalysts(M-N/C) with abundantly accessible M-Nxsites, particularly single metal atom M-N/C(SAM-N/C), have been developed as a substitute for expensive Pt-based catalysts.These catalysts are used to increase the efficiency of otherwise sluggish oxygen reduction reactions(ORR) and hydrogen evolution reactions(HER). However, although the agglomerated metal nanoparticles are usually easy to form, they are very difficult to remove due to the protective surface-coating carbon layers, a factor that significantly hampers SAM-N/C fabrication. Herein, we report a one-step pyrolysis approach to successfully fabricate single cobalt atom Co-N/C(SACo-N/C) by using a Co2+-SCN-coordination compound as the metal precursor. Thanks to the decomposition of Co2+-SCN-compound at lower temperature than that of carbon layer deposition, Co-rich particles grow up to larger ones before carbon layers formation. Even though encapsulated by the carbon layers, it is difficult for the large Co-rich particle to be completely sealed. And thus, it makes the Co atoms possible to escape from incomplete carbon layer, to coordinate with nitrogen atoms, and to form SACo-N/C catalysts. This SACo-N/C exhibits excellent performances for both ORR(half-wave potential of 0.878 V) and HER(overpotential at 10 mA/cm2 of178 m V), and is thus a potential replacement for Pt-based catalysts. When SACo-N/C is integrated into a Zn-O2 battery, battery with high open-circuit voltage(1.536 V) has high peak power density(266 mW/cm2)and large gravimetric energy density(755 mA h/gZn) at current densities of 100 mA/cm2. 13Ursolic acid induces U937 cells differentiation by PI3K/Akt pathway activation显示文摘AIM: Ursolic acid(UA), a pentacyclic triterpenoid, is used as an anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer agent. There were few studies on the effects of UA on differentiation, and this is the first time to elucidate the potential effect and molecular mechanism of UA on inducing differentiation in the human leukemia cell line U937. METHODS: Wright-Giemsa staining, nitroblue tetrazolium reduction assay and flow cytometric analysis were utilized to demonstrate the differentiation of U937 cells induced by UA. Western blotting and immunofluorescence assay were used to investigate the possible mechanism. RESULTS: It was found that UA could induce the differentiation of U937cells and Akt-activity was significantly increased during differentiation. Additionally, LY294002, a PI3K-Akt inhibitor, could block the differentiation of U937 cells induced by UA. 14Hierarchically porous nitrogen-doped carbon as cathode for lithium–sulfur batteries显示文摘Porous nitrogen-doped carbon is an especially promising material energy storage due to its excellent conductivity, stable physicochemical properties, easy processability, controllable porosity and low price.Herein, we reported a novel well-designed hierarchically porous nitrogen-doped carbon(HPNC) via a combination of salt template(ZnCl_2) and hard template(SiO_2) as sulfur host for lithium–sulfur batteries. The low-melting ZnCl_2 is boiled off and leaves behind micropores and small size mesopores during pyrolysis process, while the silica spheres are removed by acid leaching to generate interconnected 3D network of macropores. The HPNC-S electrode exhibits an initial specific capacity of 1355 mAh g^(–1) at 0.1 C(1 C = 1675 m Ah g^(–1)), a high-rate capability of 623 m Ah g^(–1) at 2 C, and a small decay of 0.13% per cycle over 300 cycles at 0.2 C. 15Association of emergency room visits for respiratory diseases with sources of ambient PM2.5显示文摘Previous studies have reported associations of short-term exposure to different sources of ambient fine particulate matter(PM2.5)and increased mortality or hospitalizations for respiratory diseases.Few studies,however,have focused on the short-term effects of source-specific PM2.5 on emergency room visits(ERVs)of respiratory diseases.Source apportionment for PM2.5 was performed with Positive Matrix Factorization(PMF)and generalized additive model was applied to estimate associations between source-specific PM2.5 and respiratory disease ERVs.The association of PM2.5 and total respiratory ERVs was found on lag4(RR=1.011,95%CI:1.002,1.020)per interquartile range(76μg/m3)increase.We found PM2.5 to be significantly associated with asthma,bronchitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)ERVs,with the strongest effects on lag5(RR=1.072,95%CI:1.024,1.119),lag4(RR=1.104,95%CI:1.032,1.176)and lag3(RR=1.091,95%CI:1.047,1.135),respectively.The estimated effects of PM2.5 changed little after adjusting for different air pollutants.Six primary PM2.5 sources were identified using PMF analysis,including dust/soil(6.7%),industry emission(4.5%),secondary aerosols(30.3%),metal processing(3.2%),coal combustion(37.5%)and traffic-related source(17.8%).Some of the sources were identified to have effects on ERVs of total respiratory diseases(dust/soil,secondary aerosols,metal processing,coal combustion and traffic-related source),bronchitis ERVs(dust/soil)and COPD ERVs(traffic-related source,industry emission and secondary aerosols).Different sources of PM2.5 contribute to increased risk of respiratory ERVs to different extents,which may provide potential implications for the decision making of air quality related policies,rational emission control and public health welfare.Rui Chi Hongyu Li Qian Wang Qiangrong Zhai Daidai Wang Meng Wu Qichen Liu Shaowei Wu Qingbian Ma Furong Deng Xinbiao Guo 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,12:8
16Interaction between Schwann cells and other cells during repair of peripheral nerve injury显示文摘Peripheral nerve injury(PNI)is common and,unlike damage to the central nervous system injured nerves can effectively regenerate depending on the location and severity of injury.Peripheral myelinating glia,Schwann cells(SCs),interact with various cells in and around the injury site and are important for debris elimination,repair,and nerve regeneration.Following PNI,Wallerian degeneration of the distal stump is rapidly initiated by degeneration of damaged axons followed by morphologic changes in SCs and the recruitment of circulating macrophages.Interaction with fibroblasts from the injured nerve microenvironment also plays a role in nerve repair.The replication and migration of injury-induced dedifferentiated SCs are also important in repairing the nerve.In particular,SC migration stimulates axonal regeneration and subsequent myelination of regenerated nerve fibers.This mobility increases SC interactions with other cells in the nerve and the exogenous environment,which influence SC behavior post-injury.Following PNI,SCs directly and indirectly interact with other SCs,fibroblasts,and macrophages.In addition,the inter-and intracellular mechanisms that underlie morphological and functional changes in SCs following PNI still require further research to explain known phenomena and less understood cell-specific roles in the repair of the injured peripheral nerve.This review provides a basic assessment of SC function post-PNI,as well as a more comprehensive evaluation of the literature concerning the SC interactions with macrophages and fibroblasts that can influence SC behavior and,ultimately,repair of the injured nerve.Wen-Rui Qu Zhe Zhu Jun Liu De-Biao Song Heng Tian Bing-Peng Chen Rui Li Ling-Xiao Deng 2021Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,1:8

19Exosomal miRNA profiling before and after surgery revealed potential diagnostic and prognostic markers for lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Exosome is a crucial manner for cancer cell to cell communication and circulating exosomes sever as promising diagnostic and prognostic markers for various types of diseases.A predominant type of cargo of exosome is small RNAs,especially miRNAs.Here,we profiled plasma exosomal miRNAs of six lung adenocarcinoma patients before and after surgery,as well as six healthy individuals as normal control.Our profiling revealed 38 upregulated and 37 downregulated exosomal miRNAs in the plasma of lung adenocarcinoma patients.Additionally,we found that most upregulated miRNAs were increased in the lung adenocarcinoma samples of TCGA database.We further evaluated the correlation between the upregulated exosomal miRNAs and overall survival with Kaplan-Meier survival analysis using online databases.Our resu ltS suggested that exosomal miR-151a-5p,miR-10b-5p,miR-192-5p,miR-106b-3p,and miR-484 are potential prognostic markers for lung adenocarcinoma.Importantly,we validated candidate miRNAs in lung adenocarcinoma patients before and after surgery as well as in healthy controls and found that miR-484 was significantly increased in the plasma of lung adenocarcinoma patients and strikingly decreased post-surgery.Hence,we provided novel information on lung adenocarcinoma-derived exosomal miRNA and potential non-invasive diagnostic and prognostic markers for lung adenocarcinoma.Xinying Xue Chen Wang Zhiqiang Xue Jiaxin Wen Jun Han Xidong Ma Xuelei Zang Hui Deng Rui Guo Idorenyin Polycarp Asuquo Chong Qin Haijiao Wang Quansheng Gao Sanhong Liu Jianxin Wang 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,3:6
20Distributed sensor fault diagnosis for a formation system with unknown constant time delays显示文摘In this paper, a distributed velocity sensor fault diagnosis scheme is presented for a formation of a second-order multi-agent system with unknown constant communication time delays. An existing distributed proportion-derivation(DPD) formation control law is adopted and a delay-independent condition is proposed to guarantee the asymptotical formation stability of the formation system based on the Nyquist stability criterion. Then a distributed fault diagnosis scheme is developed. In each agent, a distributed fault detection residual generator(DFDRG) and a bank of distributed fault isolation residual generators(DFIRGs) are designed based on the closed-loop model of the whole system. Each DFIRG is built up on the basis of a reduced-order unknown input observer(UIO) which is robust to the fault of one neighboring agent. According to the robust relationship between DFIRGs and faults, distributed fault isolation can be achieved. Conditions are presented to guarantee that each agent is able to diagnose faults of itself and its neighbors despite the disturbance of time delays.
