1Study on interaction between the coastal water, shelf water and Kuroshio water in the Huanghai Sea and East China Sea显示文摘The main processes of interaction between the coastal water, shelf water and Kuroshiowater in the Huanghai Sea (HS) and East China Sea (ECS) are analyzed based on the observation andstudy results in recent years. 2Role of Kuroshio frontal eddy in exchange between shelf water and Kuroshio water in East China Sea显示文摘Basic patterns of the reversal of the Kuroshio water toward the shelf, intrusion of the shelf mixed waterinto the Kuroshio and uplifting of the near-bottom nutrient-rich water into the upper layer by the pumping of the frontal eddy are analyzed on the basis of satellite infrared images and hydrologic, chemical and biological observations. Results show that the Kuroshio frontal eddies play a very important role in the exchange between the shelf water and the Kuroshio water. The estimation of the average volume transports for three frontal eddy events indicates that the shelf mixed water entrained by an eddy into Kuroshio is 0.44×10~6 m3/s and the reversal Kuroshio water onto the shelf region only 0.04×10~6 m3/s. Along the whole shelf edge, the volume transport of the shelf mixed water entrained by the eddies into the Kuroshio is 1.8×10~6 m3/s. The nutrient (NO3-N) flux pumped to the euphotic zone and input to the continental shelf through a column with 1 m wide is 974 μmol/(s·m) when there is frontal eddy and only 79 μmol/(s·m) in the case of no frontal eddy. 5Dye-Enhanced Self-Electrophoretic Propulsion of Light-Driven TiO_2–Au Janus Micromotors显示文摘Light-driven synthetic micro-/nanomotors have attracted considerable attention in recent years due to their unique performances and potential applications. We herein demonstrate the dye-enhanced self-electrophoretic propulsion of light-driven Ti O_2–Au Janus micromotors in aqueous dye solutions. Compared to the velocities of these micromotors in pure water, 1.7, 1.5, and 1.4 times accelerated motions were observed for them in aqueous solutions of methyl blue(10-5g L^(-1)), cresol red(10^(-4)g L^(-1)),and methyl orange(10^(-4)g L^(-1)), respectively. We determined that the micromotor speed changes depending on thetype of dyes, due to variations in their photodegradation rates. In addition, following the deposition of a paramagnetic Ni layer between the Au and Ti O_2 layers, the micromotor can be precisely navigated under an external magnetic field. 7Marine hydrographic spatial-variability and its cause at the northern margin of the Amery Ice Shelf显示文摘Conductivity,temperature and depth(CTD) data collected along a zonal hydrographic section from the northern margin of the Amery Ice Shelf on 25-27 February 2008 by the 24th Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition (CHINARE) cruise in the 2007/2008 austral summer are analyzed to study thermohaline structures.Analysis reveals warm subsurface water in a limited area around the east end of the northern margin,where the temperature,salinity and density have east-west gradients in the surface layer of the hydrographic section.The localization of the warm subsurface water and the causes of the CTD gradients in the surface layer are discussed.In addition,the results from these CTD data analyses are compared with those from the 22nd CHINARE cruise in the 2005/2006 austral summer.This comparison revealed that the thermoclines and haloclines had deepened and their strengths weakened in the 2007/2008 austral summer.The difference between the two data sets and the cause for it can be reasonably explained and attributed to the change in ocean-ice-atmosphere interactions at the northern margin of the Amery Ice Shelf.GE RenFeng DONG ZhaoQian CHEN HongXia LIU Na SHI JiuXing PU ShuZhen 2011Advances in Polar Science2011,22,2:3
8The Application of the Acoustic Method to the Exploration of Urban Active Faults and a Comparison with the Artificial Earthquake, and Radar Methods显示文摘The depth of upper fault point is the key data for ascertaining the active age of a buried fault on a plain. The difference of depth obtained from same fault may be dozens to several hundred meters when using different geophysical methods. It can result in the absolutely opposite conclusions when judging fault activity. Because of a lack of an artificial earthquake source with wide band and high central frequency, many kinds of methods have to be used together. The higher the frequency of the artificial earthquake wave, electromagnetic wave and sonic wave, the higher the resolution. However the attenuation is also very fast and the exploration depth is very shallow. The reverse is also true. The frequency of artificial seismic waves is in the tens of Hz. Its exploration depth is big and the resolution is poor. The frequency of radar electromagnetic waves is about a million Hz, indicating that the resolving power is better, but the exploration depth is very shallow. However, the acoustic frequency is thousands of Hz, its resolving power is better than that of the artificial earthquake method and the exploration depth is larger than that of the radar method. So it is suitable for extra shallow exploration in the thick deposit strata of the Quaternary. 17Effect of cyclovirobuxine D on human growth-associated protein 43 and neurocan expression in ischemic brain tissue of stroke-prone renovascular hypertensive rats显示文摘BACKGROUND: Experimental data indicate that human growth-associated protein 43 mRNA expression coincides with axonal growth during nerve ganglion development; while neurocan, secreted from astrocytes, can inhibit sprouting and elongation of the axonal growth cone. OBJECTIVE: To verify regulatory effects of cyclovirobuxine D (CVB-D) extracted from Chinese box branchlet on human growth-associated protein 43 (GAP-43), and neurocan expression in brain tissue of stroke-prone renovascular hypertensive (RHRSP) rats, at different time points after cerebral ische-mia/reperfusion. DESIGN: Randomized grouping design and controlled animal study. SETTING: This study was performed at the Center of Guangdong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (a national key laboratory) from March 2003 to September 2006. MATERIALS: 100 healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats, aged 2-3 months and weighing 90-120 g, were se- lected for this study. CVB-D was provided by Nanjing Xiaoying Pharmaceutical Factory (Batch number: 307701). METHODS: The initial tip of renal arteries was clamped bilaterally for 10 weeks to establish the RHRSP model. 100 RHRSP rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: naive group (n = 10), sham surgery group (n = 10), CVB-D group (n = 40), and lesion group (n = 40). Rats in the naive group did not undergo any treatment, and cervical vessels of rats in the sham surgery group were exposed, but not blocked. The right middle cerebral artery of rats in the CVB-D group and lesion group were occluded to establish cerebral ischemia. Rats in the CVB-D group were intraperitoneally injected with CVB-D (6.48 mg/kg) every day and with saline (1.5 mL/injection) twice a day. Rats in the lesion group were intraperitoneally injected with saline (2 mL/injection). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Immunohistochemistry was applied to detect GAP-43 and neurocan expression in the ischemic penumbra region of CVB-D and lesion brains at 2 hours post-cerebral ischemia and at 1, 7, 14, and 30 days post-perfusion (n = 10 at each time point). Similarly, GAP-43 and neurocan expres- sion was detected in the right hemisphere of na?ve and sham-operated animals. The results were expressed as positive cells. RESULTS: A total of 100 rats were included in the final analysis. The number of GAP-43 positive cells in- creased in the CVB-D group 1, 7, 14, and 30 days post-cerebral ischemia/perfusion compared to the lesion group, as indicated by a significant difference between the CVB-D and lesion group (P < 0.05-0.01). The number of neurocan-positive cells decreased in the CVB-D group on the first day compared to the model group; however, there was no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). On post-ischemia days 7, 14, and 30, the number of neurocan-positive cells in the CVB-D group was significantly less than in the lesion group (P < 0.05). Both, GAP-43 and neurocan expression was not detectable in brains of na?ve and sham-operated animals. 20Hypoxia-induced RBBP7 promotes esophagus cancer progression by inducing CDK4 expression显示文摘Hypoxia-induced epigenetic regulation calls for more effective therapeutic targets for esophageal cancer.We used GEPIA and UALCAN databases to screen survival-related and cancer stage-associated genes.Eca109 and KYSE450 esophageal cancer cell lines were cultured under normoxia,hypoxia,or CoCl2-induced hypoxia conditions,which were further transfected with plasmids expressing RB binding protein 7(RBBP7),hypoxia-inducible factor 1(HIF1)-α,or RBBP7 shRNA.Colony formation and MTT assays were used to detect cell proliferation.Tumor sphere formation and stemness marker detection were applied to assess cell stemness.RT-PCR and western blot analysis were used to detect the relative mRNA level and protein expression,respectively.Luciferase assay was utilized to detect the direct interaction between HIF1αand RBBP7.Up-regulated RBBP7 was identified as one of the most prominent survival-related genes,which is negatively correlated with the overall survival(OS),disease recurrencefree survival(DFS),and tumor stages.Hypoxia-induced HIF1αup-regulates RBBP7 expression,which promotes esophagus cancer cell viability,proliferation,and stemness with increased cyclin-dependent kinase 4(CDK4)expression.Luciferase reporter assay verified that HIF1αtranscriptionally regulates the expression of RBBP7.We conclude that hypoxia induces high expression of RBBP7 which is at least partially mediated by HIF1α,up-regulates the expression of downstream CDK4,and thereby promotes tumor progression in esophageal cancer cells.Renfeng Wang Zhiliang Huang Zhenyang Lin Borong Chen Xuguang Pang Chaoxiang Du Hong Fan 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,2:1
