| 3 | Remote sensing based monitoring of interannual variations in vegetation activity in China from 1982 to 2009显示文摘Terrestrial vegetation is one of the most important components of the Earth's land surface. Variations in terrestrial vegetation directly impact the Earth system's balance of material and energy. This paper describes detected variations in vegetation activity at a national scale for China based on nearly 30 years of remote sensing data derived from NOAA/AVHRR(1982–2006) and MODIS(2001–2009). Vegetation activity is analyzed for four regions covering agriculture, forests, grasslands, and China's Northwest region with sparse vegetation cover(including regions without vegetation). Relationships between variations in vegetation activity and climate change as well as agricultural production are also explored. The results show that vegetation activity has generally increased across large areas, especially during the most recent decade. The variations in vegetation activity have been driven primarily by human factors, especially in the southern forest region and the Northwest region with sparse vegetation cover. | 5 | Energy Storage Performance of a PCM in the Solar Storage Tank显示文摘High-temperature solar thermal power station with solar energy storage is one of the effective ways to solve energy shortage and environmental pollution. The heat storage characteristics of phase change materials in solar energy storage tanks directly affect the performance of the system and its future promotion and utilization. Based on the knowledge of heat transfer, fluid mechanics and engineering thermodynamics, this paper uses MATLAB software to compile the dynamic heat storage characteristics calculation program of phase change materials in energy storage tanks, and verify the results. This paper analyzes the phase change heat storage process with three PCM initial temperatures and three HTF speeds. The results show that when the initial temperature of the PCM changes from 185°C to 210°C, the latent heat storage heat increases by 21.8%, and the total heat storage decreases. Increasing the HTF speed from 1.8 m/s to 2.2 m/s, the melting time was reduced from 414 minutes to 390 minutes, and the total heat storage and sensible heat storage were also increased. The results also show that changing the initial temperature of the PCM and the flow rate of the HTF will change the thermal storage performance of the system. | 6 | A New Carbon and Oxygen Balance Model Based on Ecological Service of Urban Vegetation显示文摘The application of human induced oxygen consumption and carbon emission theory in urban region was summed up and on this base a new model of urban carbon and oxygen balance (UCOB) was constructed by calculating the carbon and oxygen fluxes. The purpose was to highlight the role of vegetation in urban ecosystems and evaluate the effects of various human activities on urban annual oxygen consumption and carbon emission. Hopefully,the model would be helpful in theory to keep the regional balance of carbon and oxygen,and provide guidance and support for urban vegetation planning in the future. To test the UCOB model,the Jimei District of Xiamen City,Fujian Province,China,a very typical urban region,was selected as a case study. The results turn out that Jimei′s vegetation service in oxygen emission and carbon sequestration could not meet the demand of the urban population,and more than 31.49 times of vegetation area should be added to meet the whole oxygen consumption in Jimei while 9.60 times of vegetation area are needed to meet the carbon sequestration targets. | 10 | Light-triggered nitric oxide release and structure transformation of peptide for enhanced intratumoral retention and sensitized photodynamic therapy显示文摘Tumor-targeted delivery of nanomedicine is of great importance to improve therapeutic efficacy of cancer and minimize systemic side effects.Unfortunately,nowadays the targeting efficiency of nanomedicine toward tumor is still quite limited and far from clinical requirements.In this work,we develop an innovative peptide-based nanoparticle to realize light-triggered nitric oxide(NO)release and structural transformation for enhanced intratumoral retention and simultaneously sensitizing photodynamic therapy(PDT).The designed nanoparticle is self-assembled from a chimeric peptide monomer,TPP-RRRKLVFFK-Ce6,which contains a photosensitive moiety(chlorin e6,Ce6),aβ-sheet-forming peptide domain(Lys-Leu-Val-Phe-Phe,KLVFF),an oligoarginine domain(RRR)as NO donor and a triphenylphosphonium(TPP)moiety for targeting mitochondria.When irradiated by light,the constructed nanoparticles undergo rapid structural transformation from nanosphere to nanorod,enabling to achieve a significantly higher intratumoral accumulation by 3.26 times compared to that without light irradiation.More importantly,the conversion of generated NO and reactive oxygen species(ROS)in a light-responsive way to peroxynitrite anions(ONOO)with higher cytotoxicity enables NO to sensitize PDT in cancer treatment.Both in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrate that NO sensitized PDT based on the well-designed transformable nanoparticles enables to eradicate tumors efficiently.The light-triggered transformable nanoplatform developed in this work provides a new strategy for enhanced intratumoral retention and improved therapeutic outcome. | Lingdong Jiang Danyang Chen Zhaokui Jin Chao Xia Qingqing Xu Mingjian Fan Yunlu Dai Jia Liu Yuanpei Li Qianjun He | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,6: | 3 |

| 14 | Determination of water content in corn stover silage using near-infrared spectroscopy显示文摘The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of utilizing near-infrared spectroscopy to determine the water content of corn stover silage across a wide range.The water contents of 208 samples were measured,and their corresponding near-infrared spectra were simultaneously collected.The effects of different preprocessing methods,such as derivation,standard normal variety(SNV),multiplicative scatter correction(MSC),and non-preprocessing methods for the obtained near-infrared spectra on the performance of calibration models were compared.The calibration models were established by modified partial least squares(MPLS)regression.The results showed that the calibration model developed from the successive preprocessing of MSC and first-order derivation(1-D)achieved the optimal performance.The correlation coefficients of the calibration and validation subset were 0.974 and 0.949,respectively,and the standard errors of the calibration and cross validation were 4.249% and 4.256%,respectively.External validation was performed on 60 samples.The correlation coefficient between the measured and predicted values of the calibration model was 0.973 and the prediction model’s relative percent deviation was 4.317.This indicated that the mathematical model of near-infrared spectroscopy predicted the water content in corn stover silage with high accuracy.The study showed that the near-infrared spectroscopy technology can be used for rapid and non-destructive testing across a wide range of water contents in the corn stover silage. | Maoqun Zhang Chao Zhao Qianjun Shao Zidong Yang Xuefen Zhang Xiaofeng Xu Muhammad Hassan | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,6: | 2 |

| 16 | Effect of Jianpi Bushen formula on aromatase-inhibitor-associated bone loss after menopause显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Jianpi Bushen(JPBS) formula on aromatase inhibitor(AI)-associated bone loss after menopause.METHODS: Six-month-old female rats were randomly divided into 6 groups: a sham group, an ovariectomized(OVX) group, an OVX treated with exemestane and 3 OVX groups each treated with a different dose of JPBS formula. Bone mineral density(BMD) at the lumbar vertebrae, histology, bone markers and serum levels of estrogen were assessed. Furthermore, a cohort study was conducted in 130 postmenopausal women with breast cancer that had undergone treatment with AIs. The subjects were given JPBS + caltrate D or caltrate D only, administered orally. BMD at the lumbar vertebrae and femoral neck and bone markers were evaluated in both control and herbal treatment groups at baseline and 12 months.RESULTS: Experimental results indicated that a high dose of JPBS significantly increased the trabecular bone area percentage(Tb.Ar %) and broadened the trabecular thickness(Tb.Th). The JPBS formula enriched the carboxyterrninal propeptide of type ipmcollagen and increased serum estrogen level significantly. The clinical investigation revealed that bone loss was decreased in the group treated with JPBS vs control(BMD T score at lumbar vertebrae, 3.9% increased vs 14.58% decreased, respectively, P = 0.004 and BMD T score on femoral neck, 1.8% decreased vs 22.45% decreased, respectively, P = 0.008). In the study,CPT was used for the inhibition of the recurrence after the operation. The hollow mesoporous silica nanoparticles were used as the carrier to improve the hydrophilic property and increase its bioavailability with the high loading capacity. The ability of the cellular uptake and antitumor activity was increased. Hydrogel was the ideal carrier for local therapy, so the CPT@HMSNs were loaded into the PLEL thermo sensitive hydrogel to be injected into the tumor sites after the tumor was resected.
