| 1 | GIS Based Spatial Data Analysis for Landslide Susceptibility Mapping显示文摘Landslide susceptibility map delineates the potential zones for landslides occurrence. The paper presents a statistical approach through spatial data analysis in GIS for landslide susceptibility mapping in parts of Sikkim Himalaya. Six important causative factors for landslide occurrences were selected and corresponding thematic data layers were prepared in GIS. Topographic maps,satellite image,field data and published maps constitute the input data for thematic layer preparation. Numerical weights for different categories of these factors were determined based on a statistical approach and the weighted thematic layers were integrated in GIS environment to generate the landslide susceptibility map of the area. The landslide susceptibility map classifies the area into five different landslide susceptible zones i.e.,very high,high,moderate,low and very low. | 5 | QTL analysis for some quantitative traits in bread wheat显示文摘Quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis was conducted in bread wheat for 14 important traits utilizing data from four different mapping populations involving different approaches of QTL analysis. Analysis for grain protein content (GPC) sug- gested that the major part of genetic variation for this trait is due to environmental interactions. In contrast, pre-harvest sprouting tolerance (PHST) was controlled mainly by main effect QTL (M-QTL) with very little genetic variation due to environmental interactions; a major QTL for PHST was detected on chromosome arm 3AL. For grain weight, one QTL each was detected on chromosome arms 1AS, 2BS and 7AS. QTL for 4 growth related traits taken together detected by different methods ranged from 37 to 40; nine QTL that were detected by single-locus as well as two-locus analyses were all M-QTL. Similarly, single-locus and two-locus QTL analyses for seven yield and yield contributing traits in two populations respectively allowed detection of 25 and 50 QTL by composite interval mapping (CIM), 16 and 25 QTL by multiple-trait composite interval mapping (MCIM) and 38 and 37 QTL by two-locus analyses. | 11 | An Approach Using Fuzzy Sets and Boosting Techniques to Predict Liver Disease显示文摘The aim of this research is to develop a mechanism to help medical practitioners predict and diagnose liver disease.Several systems have been proposed to help medical experts by diminishing error and increasing accuracy in diagnosing and predicting diseases.Among many existing methods,a few have considered the class imbalance issues of liver disorder datasets.As all the samples of liver disorder datasets are not useful,they do not contribute to learning about classifiers.A few samples might be redundant,which can increase the computational cost and affect the performance of the classifier.In this paper,a model has been proposed that combines noise filter,fuzzy sets,and boosting techniques(NFFBTs)for liver disease prediction.Firstly,the noise filter(NF)eliminates the outliers from the minority class and removes the outlier and redundant pair from the majority class.Secondly,the fuzzy set concept is applied to handle uncertainty in datasets.Thirdly,the AdaBoost boosting algorithm is trained with several learners viz,random forest(RF),support vector machine(SVM),logistic regression(LR),and naive Bayes(NB).The proposed NFFBT prediction system was applied to two datasets(i.e.,ILPD and MPRLPD)and found that AdaBoost with RF yielded 90.65%and 98.95%accuracy and F1 scores of 92.09%and 99.24%over ILPD and MPRLPD datasets,respectively. | Pushpendra Kumar Ramjeevan Singh Thakur | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,9: | 0 |
| 12 | Antioxidant and antiarthritic potential of berberine: In vitro and in vivo studies显示文摘Objective: To extract and isolate berberine from Berberis aristata(Berberidaceae). Isolated berberine was characterised using spectroscopy and its antioxidant and antiarthritic activity was analyzed.Methods: The berberine was isolated from B. aristata using microwave-assisted extraction(MAE) and characterised by a spectroscopic technique. The isolated berberine was evaluated for its antioxidant activity in DPPH, nitric oxide, and superoxide scavenging assays, while antiarthritic activity was evaluated in the complete freund’s adjuvant(CFA)-induced arthritis rat model.Results: The antioxidant activity of berberine revealed potent antioxidant activity in DPPH, nitric oxide,and superoxide scavenging assays. The in vivo antiarthritic activity of berberine in the CFA-induced arthritis rat model showed a significant reduction in paw diameter, arthritic score, and an increase in body weight. Furthermore, a concentration-dependent ameliorating action of berberine on haematological parameters was noticed. Proinfammatory biomarkers, including IL-6, IL-10, and TGF-b in serum were reported, and histopathology examination revealed that berberine decreased pannus formation, synovial hyperplasia, and bone erosion. | 14 | Decomposing the Socio-economic Inequalities in Utilization of Full Antenatal Care in Jharkhand State,India显示文摘It is widely evidenced that low socio-economic status is significantly associated with poor health,but inequalities caused by social and economic factors are poorly quantified.This paper attempts to measure contributions of selected factors to the differences in full antenatal care(ANC)utilization in the state of Jharkhand,India,based on the third wave of District Level Household and Facility Survey(DLHS-3)data in 2007–2008.Full ANC is defined as having a minimum of three antenatal visits,at least two tetanus toxoid injections and receiving folic acid tablets for at least 90 days or more during the last pregnancy.Multivariate and decomposition statistical techniques were employed to examine the factors associated with utilization of ANC services and their contributions to inequalities in utilization.Results show that the factors with the largest contribution to utilization of ANC services were poor economic status of women(37.53%),mass media exposure(30.71%),and residence in a rural area(15.56%).The relative contributions of region,mothers’education,age,and birth order of the women in generating inequalities were small.Therefore,to improve maternal health and to reduce socio-economic gaps in the state,more focus is needed on vulnerable sections of society and regions where the effects of government health programs hardly reach. | Abha Gupta Pushpendra Kumar Olalemi Adewumi Dorcas | 2016 | International Journal of Population Studies2016,2,2: | 0 |

This research workis framed to analyzing the structure of the well-known Lassa hemorrhagic epidemic;adangerous epidemic for pregnant women, via new generalized Caputo type nonintegerorder derivative with the help of a modified Predictor–Corrector scheme. Lassa hemorrhagic disease is an epidemical and biocidal fever, whose negative impacts were initiallyrecognized in the countries of Africa. This virus has killed many pregnant women ascompared to the Ebola epidemic. It was noticed that Lassa virus was isolated in Verocell cultures from a blood pattern, and after 12 days it was ejective, after the climb ofthe sickness. In this research study, necessary theorems and lemmas are reminded toprove the existence of a unique solution and stability of given fractional approximationscheme. All necessary results are reminded to confirm the effectiveness of the proposedapproximation algorithm by graphical observations for various fractional-order values.In our practical calculations, we plotted the graphs for two different values of naturaldeath rate along with various values of given fractional-order operator.
