1Influence of alumina/MWCNT hybrid nanoparticle additives on tribological properties of lubricants in turning operations显示文摘A hybrid lubricant with improved thermal and tribological properties was developed by blending multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs) with alumina-based nanoparticles into cutting fluid at fixed volumetric proportions(10:90). The hybrid cutting fluid was prepared in different volumetric concentrations(0.25, 0.75, and 1.25 vol%), and the tribological properties and contact angles were measured using pin-on-disc tribometry and goniometry, respectively. The study showed a reduction in wear and friction coefficient with increasing nanoparticle concentration. The cutting fluid performance was investigated using minimum quantity lubrication(MQL) in the turning of AISI 304 stainless steel. Regression models were developed for measuring the temperature and tool flank wear in terms of cutting speed, feed, depth of the cut, and nanoparticle concentration using response surface methodology. 2基于软X射线成像的储粮害虫米象生长阶段检测显示文摘为了准确检测单粒小麦内部是否感染米象(Sitophilus oryzae),利用软X射线成像检测技术对感染不同生长阶段米象的小麦颗粒进行成像,试图通过图像分析来确定小麦内部米象的幼虫、蛹和成虫等不同生长阶段,并利用随机重复抽样建模来评价结果可靠性。通过对被感染米象虫卵不同天数小麦的图像分析发现,图像灰度分布直方图随感染天数变化明显,低灰度值区域(灰度值为10~102)的灰度区域像素点随感染天数增加而减少,中灰度(灰度值为103~162)和高灰度区域(灰度值为163~232)则随感染天数增加而增多。使用包括图像灰度分布和纹理特征等47个特征值,利用线性判别分析(Linear Discriminant Analysis,LDA)与二次判别分析(Quadratic Discriminant Analysis,QDA)建立判别模型,并通过多次随机重复抽样(1000次)对模型预测效果进行评估分析。结果表明:在95%置信区间下,在感染与未感染小麦的分类判别中,LDA的判别准确率都在76%以上,除幼虫外生长阶段判别正确率达到95%以上;而QDA的平均判别准确率较低且判别误差也相对较高。因此,该研究使用随机重复抽样方法LDA模型判别小麦是否受到米象感染和区分不同生长阶段是准确可靠的。邵小龙 杨晓静 徐水红 李慧 Jitendra Paliwal 2020农业工程学报2020,36,18:6
3Recent advances in chronic granulomatous disease显示文摘Chronic granulomatous disease(CGD)is an inherited defect of phagocyte function due to defective NADPH oxidase.Patients with CGD are not able to effectively clear the infections because of the defect in the phagocyte production of oxygen free radicals and are prone to recurrent bacterial and fungal infections.Inflammatory complications are also noted in CGD such as colitis,non-infective granulomas causing gastrointestinal or urinary tract obstruction,hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis,and arthritis.Studies on toll-like receptor pathways and neutrophil extracellular traps in CGD have shed light on the role of NADPH oxidase in the innate immunity and pathogenesis of infections in CGD.Some reports also indicate a reduction of memory B cells and defective production of functional antibodies in CGD.Though the exact mechanisms for non-infective inflammatory complications in CGD are not yet clear,studies on efferocytosis and defective autophagy with inflammasome activation have made a substantial contribution to our understanding of the pathogenesis of inflammation in CGD.We also discuss the clinical and molecular features of p40phox defects and a newer genetic defect,EROS.Clinical phenotypes of X-linked carriers of CYBB are also discussed.Gummadi Anjani Pandiarajan Vignesh Vibhu Joshi Jitendra Kumar Shandilya Dharmagat Bhattarai Jyoti Sharma Amit Rawat 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,1:6
4A new framework for population balance modeling of spray fluidized bed agglomeration显示文摘Previous work(Hussain et al.(2013).Chemical Engineering Science,101,35) has pointed out that the conventional,one-dimensional population balance equation for aggregation can be expanded to accurately reproduce the results of discrete simulations of spray fluidized bed agglomeration.However,some parameters had to be imported from the discrete simulation(Monte-Carlo).The present paper shows how the expanded population balance can be run without importing parameters from the Monte-Carlo simulation.The expanded population balance still reproduces the results of Monte-Carlo simulations accurately,taking into account key micro-scale phenomena(sessile droplet drying,efficiency of collisions),but with much lower computational cost.Required input parameters are just the drying time of sessile droplets(calculated in advance),and the pre-factor of an equation that correlates particle collision frequency with fluidized bed expansion.In this way,the expanded population balance is,apart from autonomous,also(nearly) predictive.Its performance is demonstrated by comparisons with both Monte-Carlo results and experimental data for various operating conditions(binder mass flow rate,gas temperature).Despite formally being a one-dimensional expression,the expanded population balance captures additional properties,such as the number of wet particles and the number of droplets in the system,which are even difficult to measure in experiments.Mubashir Hussain Jitendra Kumar Evangelos Tsotsas 2015Particuology2015,13,2:5
5Modeling phase equilibria of semiclathrate hydrates of CH_4,CO_2 and N_2 in aqueous solution of tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide显示文摘Semiclathrate hydrates of tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide(TBAB) offer potential solution for gas storage,transportation,separation of flue gases and CO2 sequestration.Models for phase equilibria for these systems have not yet been developed in open literatures and thus require urgent attention.In this work,the first attempt has been made to model phase equilibria of semiclathrate hydrates of CH4,CO2 and N2 in aqueous solution of TBAB.A thermodynamic model for gas hydrate system as proposed by Chen and Guo has been extended for semiclathrate hydrates of gases in aqueous solution of TBAB.A correlation for the activity of water relating to the system temperature,concentration of TBAB in the system and the nature of guest gas molecule has been proposed.The model results have been validated against available experimental data on phase equilibria of semiclathrate hydrate systems of aqueous TBAB with different gases as guest molecule.The extended Chen and Guo's model is found to be suitable to explain the promotion effect of TBAB for the studied gaseous system such as,methane,carbon dioxide and nitrogen as a guest molecule.Additionally,a correlation for the increase in equilibrium formation temperature(hydrate promotion temperature,ΔTp) of semiclathrate hydrate system with respect to pure gas hydrate system has been developed and applied to semiclathrate hydrate of TBAB with several gases as guest molecules.The developed correlation is found to predict the promotion effect satisfactorily for the system studied.Abhishek Joshi Prathyusha Mekala Jitendra S.Sangwai 2012Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2012,21,4:5
6Alcoholism and critical illness: A review显示文摘Alcohol is the most commonly used and abused drug in the world, and alcohol use disorders pose a tremendousburden to healthcare systems around the world. The lifetime prevalence of alcohol abuse in the United States is estimated to be around 18%, and the economic consequences of these disorders are staggering. Studies on hospitalized patients demonstrate that about one in four patients admitted to critical care units will have alcohol-related issues, and unhealthy alcohol consumption is responsible for numerous clinical problems encountered in intensive care unit(ICU) settings. Patients with alcohol use disorders are not only predisposed to developing withdrawal syndromes and other conditions that often require intensive care, they also experience a considerably higher rate of complications, longer ICU and hospital length of stay, greater resource utilization, and significantly increased mortality compared to similar critically ill patients who do not abuse alcohol. Specific disorders seen in the critical care setting that are impacted by alcohol abuse include delirium, pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, trauma, and burn injuries. 8Assessment of Diversity, Distribution, Conservation Status and Preparation of Management Plan for Medicinal Plants in the Catchment Area of Parbati Hydroelectric Project Stage-Ⅲ in Northwestern Himalaya显示文摘The developmental activities, particularly the construction of hydroelectric projects are causing a great loss of biodiversity in the Indian Himalayan Region. The Himachal Pradesh, a part of IHR is well known for the development of hydroelectric projects. The Parbati H.E. Project is amongst the major projects of the State. The different stages of the project are all causing loss of biodiversity of the area. Stage Ⅲ of the Parbati H.E. Project is a run of the river scheme on the Sainj River downstream of Power House of Parbati H.E. Project Stage Ⅱ. The project shall utilize regulated discharge of Parbati H.E. Project Stage Ⅱ and inflow of River Sainj for power generation, and has been contemplated as a peaking station operating in tandem with Stage Ⅱ. The present study has been undertaken to see the impact of hydroelectric project on the biodiversity, particularly on medicinal plants. A total of 104 species of medicinal plants, belonging to different life forms, i.e., trees (23 spp.), shrubs (22 spp.), herbs (57 spp.) and ferns (2 spp.) were recorded. The species have been analyzed and studied for their distribution, classification, altitudinal zones, part (s) used, indigenous uses, nativity, endemism and rarity.Different parts of these species, such as whole plants, roots (including rhizomes and tubers), leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, stems, barks, spikes, nuts and insect galls are used by the inhabitants for curing various diseases and ailments. 30 species are native to the Himalayan region, 9 species native to the Himalayan region and adjacent countries also and 65 species are non-natives. 9 species are near endemics. Considering the whole Himalaya as a biogeographic unit (sensu lato), the near endemics are endemic to the Himalaya. Among these species, Zanthoxylum armatum is categorized as Endangered and Valeriana wallichii as Vulnerable. Hedychium spicatum, Rhus javanica, Berberis lycium, Thalictrum foliolossum, Salvia lanata, Rubia cordifolia and Bergenia ligulata may be considered as threatened species due to their over exploitation for trade. 90 species are propagated by seeds, 8 species by seeds and rhizomes/roots/tubers, 4 species by seeds and cuttings, and 2 species by sori. A management plan for the cultivation and conservation of the medicinal plants in the dam submergence area, and the commercially viable medicinal plants with high value in the catchment area is suggested.S.S. 12Designing a Mini-Core Collection Effectively Representing 3004 Diverse Rice Accessions显示文摘Genetic diversity provides the foundation for plant breeding and genetic research.Over 3000 rice genomes were recently sequenced as part of the 3K Rice Genome(3KRG)Project.We added four additional Indian rice accessions to create a panel of 3004 accessions.However,such a large collection of germplasm is difficult to preserve and evaluate.The construction of core and mini-core collections is an efficient method for the management of genetic resources.In this study,we developed a mini-core comprising 520 accessions that captured most of the SNPs and represented all of the phenotypes and geographic regions from the original panel.The mini-core was validated using different statistical analyses and contained representatives from all major rice groups,including japonica,indica,aus/boro,and aromatic/basmati.Genomewide association analyses of the mini-core panel efficiently reproduced the marker–trait associations identified in the original panel.Haplotype analysis validated the utility of the mini-core panel.In the current era with many ongoing large-scale sequencing projects,such a strategy for mini-core design should be useful in many crops.The rice mini-core collection developed in this study would be valuable for agronomic trait evaluation and useful for rice improvement via marker-assisted molecular breeding.Angad Kumar Shivendra Kumar Kajol B.M.Singh Manoj Prasad Jitendra K.Thakur 2020Plant Communications2020,1,5:3
13Slumping in the Upper Jurassic Baisakhi Formation of the Jaisalmer Basin, western India: Sign of synsedimentary tectonics?显示文摘A spectacularly exposed slump is described from a 120-m-long road cut between the villages of Kanod and Deva in the northeastern Jaisalmer Basin of Rajasthan,India.The Upper Jurassic part of the sediments at the outcrop was formed in a near-shore setting and belongs to the Ludharwa Member of the Baisakhi Formation.The 3-m-thick unit shows a number of asymmetric folds and thrust faults leading to an imbrication of partly lithified sandstone beds.The deformation structures allow the reconstruction of a movement towards the northwest.This agrees well with the basin configuration that shows a deepening into this direction.Although the determination of a specific trigger mechanism is difficult for soft-sediment deformation structures,an earthquake caused by synsedimentary tectonics in the basin seems to be the most likely explanation.Matthias Alberti Dhirendra K.Pandey Jitendra K.Sharma Narendra K.Swami Alfred Uchman 2017Journal of Palaeogeography2017,6,4:2
14Deciphering the superior thermoelectric property of posttreatment-free PEDOT:PSS/IL hybrid by X-ray and neutron scattering characterization显示文摘In this work,a polymer and ionic liquid(IL)hybrid with superior thermoelectric performance is prepared via a system design of the chemical composition,molar ratio of the constituent molecules and manipulating the structure in solution and dried films.The solution-casted hybrid film,consisting of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tricyanomethanide(EMIM:TCM),shows the highest power factor of 175μW m^(−1) K^(−2) in the polymer hybrid prepared by a post-treatment-free method.With a set of complementary structure characterization methods,it is found that EMIM:TCM can induce the structure reorganization of PEDOT:PSS in solution from a core-shell model to a rod-like model,during which PEDOT partially separates from PSS that eases the conductive network formation.In addition,the oxidation level of PEDOT:PSS is reduced by adding EMIM:TCM.Based on which,the PEDOT:PSS/IL hybrid shows the best performance in optimizing the conductivity(1163 S cm^(−1))and Seebeck coefficient(38.8μV K^(−1))simultaneously.Xin Li Ruike Zou Zhen Liu Jitendra Mata Ben Storer Yu Chen Weiheng Qi Zekun Zhou Peng Zhang 2022npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1:2
15Delayed presentation of a loose body in undisplaced paediatric talar neck fracture显示文摘Fractures of the talus are rare in children.A high index of suspicion is needed to avoid missing such an injury,which is not an uncommon occurrence especially with undisplaced fractures.We present an unusual case of an undisplaced talar neck fracture in a five-year-old child leading to a delayed presentation of a symptomatic osteochondral loose body in the ankle joint.To our knowledge there are no reports in the literature of osteochondral loose bodies occurring in conjunction with an associated undisplaced talar neck fracture in either children or adults.The loose body was removed using anterior ankle arthroscopy.The child had an uneventful post operative recovery and regained full range of movement and function of his ankle joint and was discharged at one year follow-up.We aim to highlight the need to have a low threshold to further evaluate symptomatic children after fracture healing of an undisplaced talar neck fracture for a possible associated loose bodyin the ankle joint.Vishal Patel Benjamin Bloch Nicholas Johnson Jitendra Mangwani 2014World Journal of Orthopedics2014,5,3:2

17Imidazolium-Based Ionic Liquids as an Anticorrosive Agent for Completion Fluid Design显示文摘Most of the onshore and offshore oil and gas reservoirs are facing operational challenges due to high temperature and high salinity, thus requiring advanced techniques for realizing the expected oil recovery with the use of specially designed chemicals. During oil and gas well development, completion fluids, which are solids-free liquids, are used to complete an oil or gas well. Completion fluids consisting of brines are primarily used for oil and gas well stabilization and are corrosive in nature. There is a need to develop additives to be added with completion fluids to address the corrosive nature. The present investigation involved the usage of two imidazolium ionic liquids(ILs) as corrosion inhibitors for mild steel in various completion brine(Ca Cl_2, HCOOCs and ZnBr_2) fluids. The study was performed using various techniques, such as, potentiodynamic polarization, weight loss measurements and exposure studies. All the above techniques showed promising results which indicated that the ILs as corrosion inhibitors used were of the mixed-type following both physisorption and chemisorption over the mild steel surface. Among the two inhibitors studied here, 1-octyl-3-methyl imidazolium chloride([OMIM]^+[Cl]^-) with longer alkyl chain exhibited better inhibition efficiency and much lesser corrosion rate than 1-butyl-3-methyl imidazolium chloride([BMIM]^+[Cl]^-) with a shorter alkyl chain. 18Diagnostic assays developed for the control of foot-andmouth disease in India显示文摘Foot-and-mouth disease(FMD) is a highly contagious and economically devastating disease of livestock, primarily affecting cattle, buffalo and pigs. FMD virus serotypes O, A and Asia1 are prevalent in India and systematic efforts are on to control and eventually eradicate the disease from the country. FMD epidemiology is complex due to factors like co-circulation, extinction, emergence and re-emergence of genotypes/lineages within the three serotypes, animal movement, diverse farm practices and large number of susceptible livestock in the country. Systematic vaccination, prompt diagnosis, strict biosecurity measures, and regular monitoring of vaccinal immunity and surveillance of virus circulation are indispensible features for the effective implementation of the control measures. Availability of suitable companion diagnostic tests is very important in this endeavour. 19Population structure analysis and determination of neurotoxin content in a set of grass pea (Lathyrus sativus L.) accessions of Bangladesh origin显示文摘Grass pea(Lathyrus sativus L.) is a crop that is considered one of the more resilient to climate change. With protein-rich seeds and leaves, it has strong potential as human food as well as animal feed and fodder. However, genetic improvement in this crop remains stagnant owing to the poor characterization of its genetic resources. In this study, we characterized 118 accessions of grass pea with 18 EST-SSR markers. A total of 118 accessions, 101 of L. sativus(100 cultivated accessions from Bangladesh and one wild accession) and 17 wild accessions of other Lathyrus species, were used. A total of 67 alleles were detected, with an average of 3.72 alleles per locus and average polymorphism information content of 0.52. A dissimilarity matrix was formed and hierarchical cluster analysis performed using the UPGMA method grouped genotypes into four main clusters. Cluster analysis based on the genetic dissimilarity revealed a clear grouping of the 100 cultivated and 18 wild accessions into four main groups. Group I consisted of 20 accessions with high β-N-oxalyl-L-α,β-diaminopropionic acid(β-ODAP) concentration. Of these 20 accessions, 17 were wild accessions. Only one wild accession(L. cicera) was clustered in group II, which contained 35 accessions. Most of the group II accessions contained low β-ODAP. Group III was represented by 34 accessions, many of them with high β-ODAP. Group IV consisted of 29 accessions, a few of which had very high β-ODAP concentrations. Analysis of molecular variance of the microsatellite data showed significantly higher values of molecular variance between(83%) than within(17%) populations. 20溶胶凝胶法制备的MgO粉末通过电子束蒸发形成作为绝缘体保护体应用在PDP领域的MgO薄膜显示文摘MgO优异的发射和保护性能会由于水吸附作用形成Mg(OH)2而变差。为了证明这一点,实验首先采用Sol-gel法合成了纯净的MgO粉末:将硝酸镁六水合物和草酸溶解在乙醇中形成凝胶体,接着将该凝胶体在100℃时烘24h以形成草酸镁,然后升温到600℃使之裂解,将其磨碎,再使用240mesh筛分,最后再在1000℃时烧结2h,形成MgO。该法制成的MgO在气压为10^-5mbar的气氛中通过电子束蒸发到玻璃衬底上形成薄膜。以上方法制成的MgO薄膜和在450℃直接退火的MgO薄膜在以下几点做了对比:(a)生长过程和结构;(b)表面形貌;(c)透光度;(d)OH键。以上对比结果表明前者:(i)具有fcc结构,其晶格常数a为4.216±0.005A,(ii)具有在〈100〉和〈110〉之间的择优取向。另外前者还有以下特征:(i)表面形貌呈锥柱状、(ii)可视光范围的高透光度(〉88-92%)、(iii)无OH键。此外,如果MgO薄膜的晶粒取向{100}和{110}之类的中性面,那么其水合作用就可以得到有效的控制。Ashok Kumar Jitendra Kumar 2008电子器件2008,31,1:2
