| 1 | Antibacterial activity of some actinomycetes from Tamil Nadu,India显示文摘Objective:To isolate novel actinomycetes and to evaluate their antibacterial activity.Methods:Three soil samples were collected from Vengodu(village)in Kanchipuram district,Tamil Nadu,India.Actinomycetes were isolated using serial dilution and plating method on actinomycetes isolation agar.Results:Totally 35 isolates were obtained on the basis of colony characteristics on actinomycetes isolation agar.All the isolates were screened for antibacterial activity by cross streak method.Medium and optimization of day were done for the potent strains using Nathan's agar well diffusion method.Isolation of bioactive compounds from significant active isolates was done by using different media.The most active isolate VAS 10 was identified as Actinobacterium Loyola PBT VAS 10(accession No.JF501398)using 16s rRNA sequence method.The hexane,ethyl acetate,dichloromethane and butanol extracts of VAS 10 were tested against bacteria.The maximum antibacterial activity was observed in dichloromethane and ethyl acetate;maximum zones of inhibition were observed against Enterococcus durans.The rRNA secondary structure and the restriction sites of Actinobacterium Loyola VAS 10 were predicted using Genebee and NEBCutter online tools respectively.Conclusions:The present study showed that among the isolated actinomycetes,Actinobacterium Loyola PBT VAS 10(accession No.JF501398)showed good antibacterial activity against the tested bacteria. | Pachaiyappan Saravana Kumar John Poonga Preetam Raj Veeramuthu Duraipandiyan Savarimuthu Ignacimuthu | 2012 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012,2,12: | 4 |
| 2 | Primary endoscopic stapedotomy using 3 mm nasal endoscope:Audiologic and clinical outcomes显示文摘Objective:To report the use of a 3 mm rigid nasal endoscope in primary endoscopic stapedotomy and clinical and audiological outcomes.Materials and methods:Thirty patients diagnosed with primary otosclerosis underwent endoscopic stapedotomy that was performed using a 3 mm nasal endoscope(Karl Storz).At 6 months follow-up,the patients were evaluated for intraoperative findings,postoperative hearing outcomes and complications.Results:Canaloplasty was performed in 2(6.66%)patients,and no curettage of the canal wall was required in 12(40%)patients.Transposition of the chorda tympani nerve was conducted in 11(36.66%)patients.The average duration of surgery was 36 min(range 31e65 min).The air-bone gap(ABG)was 35 dB(range 24e50 dB)preoperatively and 14.63 dB(range 9e20 dB)postoperatively(p?0.00).At 6 months follow-up,<20 dB ABG was achieved in 93.33%of the patients.No major intraoperative/postoperative complications were detected.Conclusion:A 3 mm rigid nasal endoscope can be effectively used in stapedotomy to obtain adequate audiological outcomes.It can be considered as a better alternative to the standard microscope or 4 mm endoscope in preserving the posterior canal wall and chorda tympani nerve while minimizing operative time without causing significant complications. | Pradeep Pradhan Chappity Preetam Pradipta kumar Parida | 2020 | Journal of Otology2020,15,4: | 2 |

| 4 | NiCo2O4 decorated PANI–CNTs composites as supercapacitive electrode materials显示文摘Hierarchical Ni Co_2O_4/PANI/CNTs hybrid composites were designed and fabricated having a layer of Ni Co_2O_4 on the surface of PANI encapsulated CNTs with different morphologies. Physicochemical attributes of the synthesized composites were examined by FTIR, UV–visible and X-ray diffraction(XRD)techniques. Morphological aspects were evaluated by field-emission scanning microscopy(FESEM),electron diffraction spectroscopy(EDS), high resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM) and selected area electron diffraction(SAED) studies. Electrochemical measurements revealed an improved specific capacitance of 2250 F/g at a scan rate of 5 m V/s and 2000 F/g at a current density of 1 A/g with good rate capability using a three-electrode system.
