| 1 | Performance Comparison of Artificial Neural Network Models for Daily Rainfall Prediction显示文摘With an aim to predict rainfall one-day in advance, this paper adopted different neural network models such as feed forward back propagation neural network(BPN), cascade-forward back propagation neural network(CBPN), distributed time delay neural network(DTDNN) and nonlinear autoregressive exogenous network(NARX), and compared their forecasting capabilities. The study deals with two data sets, one containing daily rainfall, temperature and humidity data of Nilgiris and the other containing only daily rainfall data from 14 rain gauge stations located in and around Coonoor(a taluk of Nilgiris). Based on the performance analysis,NARX network outperformed all the other networks. Though there is no major difference in the performances of BPN, CBPN and DTDNN, yet BPN performed considerably well confirming its prediction capabilities. Levenberg Marquardt proved to be the most effective weight updating technique when compared to different gradient descent approaches. Sensitivity analysis was instrumental in identifying the key predictors. | S.Renuga Devi P.Arulmozhivarman C.Venkatesh Pranay Agarwal | 2016 | International Journal of Automation and computing2016,13,5: | 3 |
| 2 | One-pot hydrothermal preparation of hierarchical manganese oxide nanorods for high-performance symmetric supercapacitors显示文摘An eco-friendly,new,and controllable approach for the preparation of manganese oxide(a-MnO_(2))nanorods has been introduced using hydrothermal reaction for supercapacitor application. The in-depth crystal structure analysis ofα-MnO_(2) is analyzed by X-ray Rietveld refinement by using Full Prof program with the help of pseudo-Voigt profile function. The developed a-MnO_(2) electrode attains a remarkable capacitance of 577.7 F/g recorded at a current density value of 1 A/g with an excellent cycle life when is used for 10,000 repeated cycles due to the porous nanorod-morphology assisting the ease penetration of electrolyte ions into the electroactive sites. The diffusive and capacitive contributions of the electrode have been estimated by considering standard numerical packages in Python. After successfully assembling the aqueous symmetric supercapacitor(SSC)cell by utilizing the as-preparedα-MnO_(2),an excellent capacitance of 163.5 F/g and energy density of 58.1 Wh/kg at the constant current density of 0.5 A/g are obtained with an expanded potential frame of 1.6 V.Moreover, the cell has exceptionally withstood up to 10,000 cycles with an ultimate capacitance retention of 94.1%including the ability to light an LED for 18 s.Such findings recommend the developed a-MnO_(2) electrode to be a highly felicitous electrode for the field of energy storage. | Bidhan Pandit Emad S.Goda Mahmoud H.Abu Elella Aafaq ur Rehman Sang Eun Hong Sachin R.Rondiya Pranay Barkataki Shoyebmohamad F.Shaikh Abdullah M.Al-Enizi Salah MEl-Bahy Kuk Ro Yoon | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,2: | 2 |

| 6 | Effects of a novel isoflavonoid from the stem bark of Alstonia scholaris against fructose-induced experimental cataract显示文摘Objective: The present study investigated the anticataract activity of a novel isoflavonoid, isolated from stem bark of Alstonia scholaris, against fructose-induced experimental cataract. Methods: The bioactivity of fractions extracted from A. scholaris, an isolated isoflavonoid(ASII) was screened using in vitro(goat lens) and in vivo(albino rats) experimental cataract models. For the in vivo evaluation, albino rats(12–15 weeks old) were divided into five groups(n = 6). Group I(normal)received 0.3% carboxymethyl cellulose solution(10 m L/[kgád], p.o.). Group II(control) received 10%(w/v)fructose solution in their drinking water. Groups III–V received ASII at three different doses, 0.1, 1.0 and10 mg/(kgád), concurrently with 10%(w/v) fructose solution. Treatment was given daily for 8 consecutive weeks. During the protocol, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, blood glucose level and lenticular opacity were monitored at 2-week intervals. Pathophysiological markers(catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, reduced glutathione and malondialdehyde) in eye lenses were examined at the end of the 8-week treatment period. Results: The results of in vitro study showed that A. scholaris extract and the active fraction(A3) reduced the lenticular opacity as compared to toxic control group. The in vivo study showed that 8-week administration of ASII(0.1, 1.0 and 10 mg/[kgád], p.o.) led to significant reduction in blood pressure and blood glucose level and retarded the initiation and evolution of cataractogenesis, compared to the fructoseinduced cataract model control. Additionally, ASII treatment led to significant improvement in lens antioxidants(catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase and reduced glutathione) and decreased lens malondialdehyde, compared to the control group(group II).Conclusion: Results revealed that administration of ASII played a crucial role in the reduction of cataract formation in diabetic and hypertensive models. | Pranay Soni Rajesh Choudhary Surendra H.Bodakhe | 2019 | Journal of Integrative Medicine2019,17,5: | 1 |

| 20 | Oncogenic BRAF^(V600E) induces microglial proliferation through extracellular signal-regulated kinase and neuronal death through c-Jun N-terminal kinase显示文摘Activating V600E in v-Raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B(BRAF)is a common driver mutation in cancers of multiple tissue origins, including melanoma and glioma.BRAF^(V600E) has also been implicated in neurodegeneration. The present study aims to characterize BRAF^(V600E) during cell death and proliferation of three major cell types of the central nervous system:neurons, astrocytes, and microglia.Multiple primary cultures(primary cortical mixed culture)and cell lines of glial cells(BV2)and neurons(SH-SY5Y)were employed.BRAF^(V600E) and BRAF^(WT) expression was mediated by lentivirus or retrovirus.Blockage of downstream effectors(extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 and JNK1/2)were achieved by siRNA.In astrocytes and microglia,BRAF^(V600E) induces cell proliferation, and the proliferative effect in microglia is mediated by activated extracellular signal-regulated kinase, but not c-Jun N-terminal kinase.Conditioned medium from BRAF^(V600E)-expressing microglia induced neuronal death. In neuronal cells,BRAF^(V600E) directly induces neuronal death, through c-Jun N-terminal kinase but not extracellular signal-regulated kinase. We further show that BRAF-related genes are enriched in pathways in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Our study identifies distinct consequences mediated by distinct downstream effectors in dividing glial cells and in neurons following the same BRAF mutational activation and a causal link between BRAF-activated microglia and neuronal cell death that does not require physical proximity. It provides insight into a possibly important role of BRAF in neurodegeneration as a result of either dysregulated BRAF in neurons or its impact on glial cells. | Qing Ye Pranay Srivastava Nasser Al-Kuwari Xiqun Chen | 2023 | Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,7: | 1 |
