| 1 | Neuroprotective effects of autophagy inhibition on hippocampal glutamate receptor subunits after hypoxia-ischemia-induced brain damage in newborn rats显示文摘Autophagy has been suggested to participate in the pathology of hypoxic-ischemic brain damage(HIBD).However,its regulatory role in HIBD remains unclear and was thus examined here using a rat model.To induce HIBD,the left common carotid artery was ligated in neonatal rats,and the rats were subjected to hypoxia for 2 hours.Some of these rats were intraperitoneally pretreated with the autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine(10 m M in 10 μL) or the autophagy stimulator rapamycin(1 g/kg) 1 hour before artery ligation.Our findings demonstrated that hypoxia-ischemia-induced hippocampal injury in neonatal rats was accompanied by increased expression levels of the autophagy-related proteins light chain 3 and Beclin-1 as well as of the AMPA receptor subunit GluR 1,but by reduced expression of GluR 2.Pretreatment with the autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine blocked hypoxia-ischemia-induced hippocampal injury,whereas pretreatment with the autophagy stimulator rapamycin significantly augmented hippocampal injury.Additionally,3-methyladenine pretreatment blocked the hypoxia-ischemia-induced upregulation of Glu R1 and downregulation of GluR2 in the hippocampus.By contrast,rapamycin further elevated hippocampal Glu R1 levels and exacerbated decreased GluR2 expression levels in neonates with HIBD.Our results indicate that autophagy inhibition favors the prevention of HIBD in neonatal rats,at least in part,through normalizing Glu R1 and GluR2 expression. | Li-xiao Xu Xiao-juan Tang Yuan-yuan Yang Mei Li Mei-fang Jin Po Miao Xin Ding Ying Wang Yan-hong Li Bin Sun Xing Feng | 2017 | Neural Regeneration Research2017,12,3: | 12 |
| 2 | Advanced oxidation of bromide-containing drinking water: A balance between bromate and trihalomethane formation control显示文摘Addition of H2O2 has been employed to repress bromate formation during ozonation of bromide-containing source water.However,the addition of H2O2 will change the oxidation pathways of organic compounds due to the generation of abundant hydroxyl radicals,which could afect the removal efcacy of trihalomethane precursors via the combination of ozone and biological activated carbon(O3-BAC).In this study,we evaluated the efects of H2O2 addition on bromate formation and trihalomethane formation potential(THMFP)reduction during treatment of bromide-containing(97.6–129.1μg/L)source water by the O3-BAC process.At an ozone dose of 4.2 mg/L,an H2O2/O3(g/g)ratio of over 1.0 was required to maintain the bromate concentration below 10.0μg/L,while a much lower H2O2/O3ratio was sufcient for a lower ozone dose.An H2O2/O3(g/g)ratio below 0.3 should be avoided since the bromate concentration will increase with increasing H2O2 dose below this ratio.However,the addition of H2O2 at an ozone dose of 3.2 mg/L and an H2O2/O3 ratio of 1.0 resulted in a 43% decrease in THMFP removal when compared with the O3-BAC process.The optimum H2O2/O3(g/g) ratio for balancing bromate and trihalomethane control was about 0.7–1.0.Fractionation of organic materials showed that the addition of H2O2 decreased the removal efcacy of the hydrophilic matter fraction of DOC by ozonation and increased the reactivity of the hydrophobic fractions during formation of trihalomethane,which may be the two main reasons responsible for the decrease in THMFP reduction efcacy.Overall,this study clearly demonstrated that it is necessary to balance bromate reduction and THMFP control when adopting an H2O2 addition strategy. | Yongjing Wang Jianwei Yu Po Han Jing Sha Tao Li Wei An Juan Liu Min Yang | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,11: | 9 |

| 6 | The role of pineal microRNA-325 in regulating circadian rhythms after neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain damage显示文摘Circadian rhythm disorder is a common,but often neglected,consequence of neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain damage(HIBD).However,the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unknown.We previously showed that,in a rat model of HIBD,up-regulation of microRNA-325(miR-325)in the pineal gland is responsible for the suppression of Aanat,a key enzyme involved in melatonin synthesis and circadian rhythm regulation.To better understand the mechanism by which miR-325 affects circadian rhythms in neonates with HIBD,we compared clinical samples from neonates with HIBD and samples from healthy neonates recruited from the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University(Dushuhu Branch)in 2019.We found that circulating miR-325 levels correlated positively with the severity of sleep and circadian rhythm disorders in neonates with HIBD.Furthermore,a luciferase reporter gene assay revealed that LIM homeobox 3(LHX3)is a novel downstream target of miR-325.In addition,in miR-325 knock-down mice,the transcription factor LHX3 exhibited an miR-325-dependent circadian pattern of expression in the pineal gland.We established a neonatal mouse model of HIBD by performing doublelayer ligation of the left common carotid artery and exposing the pups to a low-oxygen environment for 2 hours.Lhx3 mRNA expression was significantly down-regulated in these mice and partially rescued in miR-325 knockout mice subjected to the same conditions.Finally,we showed that improvement in circadian rhythm-related behaviors in animals with HIBD was dependent on both miR-325 and LHX3.Taken together,our findings suggest that the miR-325-LHX3 axis is responsible for regulating circadian rhythms and provide novel insights into the identification of potential therapeutic targets for circadian rhythm disorders in patients with neonatal HIBD.The clinical trial was approved by Institutional Review Board of Children’s Hospital of Soochow University(approval No.2015028)on July 20,2015.Animal experiments were approved by Animal Care and Use Committee,School of Medicine,Soochow University,China(approval No.XD-2016-1)on January 15,2016. | Ning Sha Hua-Wei Wang Bin Sun Min Gong Po Miao Xiao-Lu Jiang Xiao-Feng Yang Mei Li Li-Xiao Xu Chen-Xi Feng Yuan-Yuan Yang Jie Zhang Wen-Jing Zhu Yuan-Yuan Gao Xing Feng Xin Ding | 2021 | Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,10: | 4 |

| 9 | Therapeutic effect of autologous concentrated growth factor on lower-extremity chronic refractory wounds:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Management of chronic refractory wounds is one of the toughest clinical challenges for surgeons.Because of poor blood supply,less tissue coverage,and easy exposure,the lower leg is a common site for chronic refractory wounds.The current therapeutic regimens often lead to prolonged hospital stay and higher healthcare costs.Concentrated growth factor(CGF)is a novel blood extract that contains various growth factors,platelets,and fibrins to promote wound healing process.However,there has been little research reported on the treatment of lower extremity wounds with CGF.CASE SUMMARY A 37-year-old man,without any past medical history,presented an ulcerated chronic wound on his right lower leg.The skin defect exhibited clear boundaries,with a size of 2.0 cm×3.5 cm.The depth of wound was up to the layer of deep fascia.Staphylococcus aureus was detected by bacterial culture.The final diagnosis was right lower extremity ulcers with infection.Cefathiamidine,silver sulfadiazine,and mupirocin cream were applied to control the infection.CGF gel was prepared from the patient’s blood sample,and was used to cover the wound after thorough debridement.The skin wound was successfully healed after three times of CGF treatment.CONCLUSION CGF displays an excellent wound healing promoting effect in patients with lowerextremity chronic refractory wounds. | Po Liu Yang Liu Chang-Neng Ke Wei-Shan Li Yue-Ming Liu Shi Xu | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,18: | 3 |

| 12 | Growth of cucumber seedlings in different varieties as affected by light environment显示文摘High-quality cucumber seedlings are a prerequisite for ensuring high yield of cucumbers.With the continuous increase of cucumber planting area in China,the demand for high-quality cucumber seedlings is also increasing.One of the important ways to improve the quality of cucumber seedlings is to improve the light environment by using artificial light source.In this study,three cucumber seedlings(cv.Jintong,cv.Yunv and cv.Xiazhiguang)were grown for 23 d under eight levels of daily light integral(DLI)at 4.3 mol/(m^(2)·d),8.6 mol/(m^(2)·d),10.1 mol/(m^(2)·d),13.0 mol/(m^(2)·d),5.8 mol/(m^(2)·d),11.5 mol/(m^(2)·d),14.4 mol/(m^(2)·d)and 17.3 mol/(m^(2)·d),respectively.The results showed that when DLI was 14.4 mol/(m^(2)·d),the seedling height,stem diameter,total leaf area and shoot dry/fresh weight of all three cucumber cultivars reached the maximum,while hypocotyl length decreased with the increase of light intensity.When DLI was 14.4 mol/(m^(2)·d),Jintong and Xiazhiguang had the highest health index,which were 49.29 and 28.56,respectively,while that of Yunv was 81.59(DLI=14.4 mol/(m^(2)·d)).With the increase of DLI,the photosynthetic capacity of cucumber increases gradually.The highest net photosynthetic rate was shown at DLI of 14.4 mol/(m^(2)·d),while the chlorophyll content of cucumber seedlings of all three cultivars were less affected by DLI.Jintong and Yunv had the highest chlorophyll content when DLI was 8.6 mol/(m^(2)·d)because they were adapted to low-light environment.In conclusion,the DLI of 14.4 mol/(m^(2)·d)for Jintong and Xiazhiguang,while that of 17.3 mol/(m^(2)·d)for Yunv are suggested for the light environment design of factory-cultivated seedling for cucumber. | Fang Ji Siqi Wei Nan Liu Lijun Xu Po Yang | 2020 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2020,13,5: | 2 |

| 14 | Mitochondria Redistribution in Enterovirus A71 Infected Cells and Its Effect on Virus Replication显示文摘Enterovirus A71(EV-A71)is one of the main causative agents of hand,foot and mouth disease(HFMD)and it also causes severe neurologic complications in infected children.The interactions between some viruses and the host mitochondria are crucial for virus replication and pathogenicity.In this study,it was observed that EV-A71 infection resulted in a perinuclear redistribution of the mitochondria.The mitochondria rearrangement was found to require the microtubule network,the dynein complex and a low cytosolic calcium concentration.Subsequently,the EV-A71 non-structural protein 2BC was identified as the viral protein capable of inducing mitochondria clustering.The protein was found localized on mitochondria and interacted with the mitochondrial Rho GTPase 1(RHOT1)that is a key protein required for attachment between the mitochondria and the motor proteins,which are responsible for the control of mitochondria movement.Additionally,suppressing mitochondria clustering by treating cells with nocodazole,EHNA,thapsigargin or A23187 consistently inhibited EV?A71 replication,indicating that mitochondria recruitment played a crucial role in the EV-A71 life cycle.This study identified a novel function of the EV-A71 2BC protein and provided a potential model for the regulation of mitochondrial motility in EV-A71 infection. | Yang Yang Haolong Cong Ning Du Xiaodong Han Lei Song Wenliang Zhang Chunrui Li Po Tien | 2019 | Virologica Sinica2019,34,4: | 2 |
| 15 | Earnings Expectation and Graduate Employment:Evidence from Recent Chinese College Graduates显示文摘Chinese college graduates have faced increasing labor market com-petition since the expansion of tertiary education.Given rigid market demand,graduates with realistic earnings expectations may experience a more efficient job search.Using the 2008 MYCOS College Graduate Employment Survey,this study finds that a 1000 yuan reduction in a graduate’s reservation wage can significantly increase the probability of finding a job by 66%and increase the likelihood of being employed six months after graduation by 92%.In addition,the gap between the reservation wage and the market wage has a positive impact.By slightly adjusting earnings expectations,college graduates can significantly improve job search efficiency.Market wages should be seen as reference points when adjusting income expectations. | YANG Po | 2011 | Frontiers of Education in China2011,6,4: | 2 |
| 16 | Efficacy of Shenfu decoction on sepsis in rats with condition induced by cecal ligation and puncture显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy of Shenfu decoction(SFD)prepared with a traditional Chinese formula,on sepsis in rats with the condition induced by cecal ligation and puncture(CLP),and to study the possible mechanism underlying its action.METHODS:Forty clean-grade male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly into three groups:normal control group(NCG,n=10),model control group(MCG,n=15)and Shenfu decoction group(SFDG,n=15).Sham-operated rats in NCG were served as operation control,while rats in both MCG and SFDG were exposed to CLP,a procedure to develop experimental sepsis.Rats in SFDG were administered with SFD by gavage(3 mg/g of body weight,twice a day)2 h prior to CLP and directly after successful CLP,while rats in NCG and MCG were gavaged with equivalent volume of sterilized water.Rats in all groups were starved with free access to drink.After 24 h of administration,the mortality of rats in each group was assessed.The indicators of inflammatory response[the peritoneal inflammation by Simon's method Classification as well as serum concentrations of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-6(IL-6)by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)]in survival rats were evaluated.The indicators of gut barrier[The intestinal mucosal injury index,serum concentrations of D-lactic acid and secretory IgA(sIgA)in intestinal mucosa by ELISA,as well as gut microbiota by16S rRNA gene sequencing]in survival rats were evaluated.RESULTS:The mortality(20%)of rats in SFDG was lower than that(33.3%)of the MCG(P<0.01).The mortality(20%)of rats in SFDG was lower than that(33.3%)of the MCG(χ2=6.533,P=0.011).Compared with the MCG,the peritoneal inflammation as well as serum concentrations of TNF-αand IL-6 decreased significantly in SFDG(all P<0.01).Compared with the MCG,the IMII,serum concentrations of D-lactic acid,sIgA in intestinal mucosa were alleviated by SFD treatment(all P<0.01).Increase in levels of Proteobacteria and reduction levels of Bacteroidetes induced by sepsis were observed,and these two disturbed gut microbiota phyla could be regulated after SFD treatment.Increase in levels of Proteobacteria and reduction levels of Bacteroidetes induced by sepsis were observed,and these two disturbed gut microbiota phyla could be regulated after SFD treatment.CONCLUSION:SFD may play a protective role in sepsis by alleviating sepsis-induced inflammatory response and gut barrier damage in rats. | Liu Jin Liu Fusheng Liang Tengxiao Cao Po Li Jing Zhang Yin Liu Yang | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,4: | 2 |

| 18 | Conversion of Catalytically Inert 2D Bismuth Oxide Nanosheets for Effective Electrochemical Hydrogen Evolution Reaction Catalysis via Oxygen Vacancy Concentration Modulation显示文摘Oxygen vacancies(Vo)in electrocatalysts are closely correlated with the hydrogen evo-lution reaction(HER)activity.The role of vacancy defects and the effect of their concentration,how-ever,yet remains unclear.Herein,Bi2O3,an unfavorable electrocata-lyst for the HER due to a less than ideal hydrogen adsorption Gibbs free energy(ΔGH*),is utilized as a perfect model to explore the func-tion of Vo on HER performance.Through a facile plasma irradia-tion strategy,Bi2O3 nanosheets with different Vo concentrations are fabricated to evaluate the influence of defects on the HER process.Unexpectedly,while the generated oxygen vacancies contribute to the enhanced HER performance,higher Vo concentrations beyond a saturation value result in a significant drop in HER activity.By tunning the Vo concentration in the Bi_(2)O_(3)nanosheets via adjusting the treatment time,the Bi2O3 catalyst with an optimized oxygen vacancy concentration and detectable charge carrier concentration of 1.52×10^(24)cm^(−3)demonstrates enhanced HER performance with an overpotential of 174.2 mV to reach 10 mA cm^(−2),a Tafel slope of 80 mV dec−1,and an exchange current density of 316 mA cm−2 in an alkaline solution,which approaches the top-tier activity among Bi-based HER electrocatalysts.Density-functional theory calculations confirm the preferred adsorption of H*onto Bi2O3 as a function of oxygen chemical potential(ΔμO)and oxygen partial potential(PO2)and reveal that high Vo concentrations result in excessive stability of adsorbed hydrogen and hence the inferior HER activity.This study reveals the oxygen vacancy concentration-HER catalytic activity relationship and provides insights into activating catalytically inert materials into highly efficient electrocatalysts. | Ziyang Wu Ting Liao Sen Wang Janith Adikaram Mudiyanselage Aaron SMicallef Wei Li Anthony PO’Mullane Jianping Yang Wei Luo Kostya Ostrikov Yuantong Gu Ziqi Sun | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,6: | 2 |
