| 4 | Metastatic tumors to the stomach: Clinical and endoscopicfeatures显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the clinical and endoscopic patterns in a large series of patients with metastatic tumors in the stomach. METHODS: A total of 64 patients with gastric meta- stases from solid malignant tumors were retros- pectively examined between 1990 and 2005. The clinicopathological findings were reviewed along with tumor characteristics such as endoscopic pattern, location, size and origin of the primary sites. RESULTS: Common indications for endoscopy were anemia, bleeding and epigastric pain. Metastases presented as solitary (62.5%) or multiple (37.5%) tumors were mainly located in the middle or upper third of stomach. The main primary metastatic tumors were from breast and lung cancer and malignant melanoma. CONCLUSION: As the prognosis of cancer patients has been improving gradually, gastrointestinal (GI) metastases will be encountered more often. | 13 | Gemcitabine-induced peripheral vascular disease and prolonged response in a patient with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Gemcitabine is an antimetabolite used in the treatment of pancreatic cancer.One of the side effects of gemcitabine is vascular toxicity.Here,we report the case of a patient treated with gemcitabine who had peripheral vascular disease concomi-tant with a prolonged antitumor response.CASE SUMMARY A 75-year-old man was diagnosed with locally recurrent pancreatic cancer.Partial response was achieved after 9 mo of gemcitabine.At the same time,the patient reported peripheral vascular disease without necrosis.Chemotherapy was suspended,and after one month the Positron Emission Tomography(PET)scan showed locoregional tumor recurrence.Gemcitabine was resumed and partial response was obtained,but peripheral vascular disease occurred.CONCLUSION Our results suggest that the appearance of peripheral vascular disease may be related to a prolonged response to gemcitabine. | Moinard-Butot Fabien Poprawa Elodie Schohn Anna Pietro Addeo Benabdelghani Meher | 2023 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2023，11，6： | 0 |
