First dark matter search results from the PandaX-Ⅰ experiment显示文摘We report on the first dark-matter(DM)search results from PandaX-I,a low threshold dual-phase xenon experiment operating at the China JinPing Underground Laboratory. In the 37-kg liquid xenon target with 17.4 live-days of exposure,no DM particle candidate event was found. This result sets a stringent limit for low-mass DM particles and disfavors the interpretation of previously-reported positive experimental results. The minimum upper limit,3.7×10-44cm2,for the spin-independent isoscalar DM-particle-nucleon scattering cross section is obtained at a DM-particle mass of 49 GeV/c2at 90%confidence level. | XIAO MengJiao XIAO Xiang ZHAO Li CAO XiGuang CHEN Xun CHEN YunHua CUI XiangYi FANG DeQing FU ChangBo GIBONI Karl L. | 3 | The Influence of Extractable Organic Matter on Pore Development in the Late Triassic Chang 7 Lacustrine Shales, Yanchang Formation, Ordos Basin, China显示文摘To investigate the influence of extractable organic matter(EOM) on pore evolution of lacustrine shales, Soxhlet extraction, using dichloromethane, was performed on a series of Chang 7 shale samples(Ordos Basin, China) with vitrinite reflectance of 0.64% to 1.34%. Low-pressure gas adsorption experiments were conducted on the samples before and after extraction. The pore structure parameters were calculated from the gas adsorption data. The results show complex changes to the pore volumes and surface areas after extraction. The pore development of both the initial and extracted samples is strongly controlled by total organic carbon(TOC) content. Micropores developed mainly in organic matter(OM), while mesopores and macropores predominantly developed in fractions other than OM. The influence of EOM on micropores is stronger than on mesopores and macropores. Organic solvents with a higher boiling point should be used to explore the effect of EOM on pore structure in the future. | HAN Hui LIU Pengwei DING Zhengang SHI Pitong JIA Jianchao ZHANG Wei LIU Yan CHEN Shijia LU Jungang Chen Kang PENG Xudong WANG Zhiyong XIAO Shuqi GAO Yuans | 2018 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2018,92,4: | 8
Neomycin biosynthesis is regulated positively by AfsA-g and NeoR in Streptomyces fradiae CGMCC 4.7387显示文摘Neomycins are a group of aminoglycoside antibiotics with both clinical and agricultural applications. To elucidate the regulatory mechanism of neomycin biosynthesis,we completed draft genome sequencing of a neomycin producer Streptomyces fradiae CGMCC 4.7387 from marine sediments, and the neomycin biosynthesis gene cluster was identified.Inactivation of the afsA-g gene encoding a γ-butyrolactone(GBL) synthase in S.fradiae CGMCC 4.7387 resulted in a significant decrease of neomycin production.Quantitative RT-PCR analysis revealed that the transcriptional level of neoR and the aphA-neoGH operon were reduced in the afsA-g::aac(3)Ⅳ mutant.Interestingly,a conserved binding site of AdpA,a key activator in the GBL regulatory cascade, was discovered upstream of neoR,a putative regulatory gene encoding a protein with an ATPase domain and a tetratricopeptide repeat domain. When neoR was inactivated, the neomycin production was reduced about 40%in comparison with the WT strain.Quantitative RT-PCR analysis revealed that the transcriptional levels of genes in the aphA-neoGH operon were reduced clearly in the neoR::aac(3)Ⅳ mutant. Finally, the titers of neomycin were improved considerably by overexpression of qfsA-gand neoR in S.fradiae CGMCC 4.7387. | Xiangxi Meng Wenzhao Wang Zhoujie Xie Pengwei Li Yue Li Zhengyan Guo Yingjian Lu Jie Yang Kaile Guan Zhaoxin Lu Huarong Tan Yihua Chen | 2017 | Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,9: | 7
Virtual Inertia Estimation Method of DFIG-based Wind Farm with Additional Frequency Control显示文摘With the increasing penetration of wind power, using wind turbines to participate in the frequency regulation to support power system has become a clear consensus. To accurately quantify the inertia provided by the doubly-fed induction generator(DFIG)based wind farm, the frequency response model of DFIG with additional frequency control is established, and then by using Routh approximation, the explicit expression of the virtual moment of inertia is derived for the DFIG gridconnected system. To further enhance the availability of the expression,an estimation method is proposed based on the matrix pencil method and the least squares algorithm for estimating the virtual moment of inertia provided by the wind farm. Finally, numerical results tested by a DFIG grid-connected system and a modified IEEE 30-bus system verify the derived expression of the virtual moment of inertia and the proposed estimation method. | Pengwei Chen Chenchen Qi Xin Chen | 2021 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2021,9,5: | 7
Dark matter direct search sensitivity of the PandaX-4T experiment显示文摘The Panda X-4T experiment, a 4-ton scale dark matter direct detection experiment, is being planned at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory. In this paper we present a simulation study of the expected background in this experiment. In a 2.8-ton fiducial mass and the signal region between 1-10 keV electron equivalent energy, the total electron recoil background is found to be 4.9 × 10^(-5) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). The nuclear recoil background in the same region is 2.8 × 10^(-7) kg^(-1) d^(-1) keV^(-1). With an exposure of 5.6 ton-years, the sensitivity of Panda X-4 T could reach a minimum spin-independent dark matter-nucleon cross section of 6 × 10^(-48) cm^2 at a dark matter mass of 40 Ge V/c^2. | HongGuang Zhang Abdusalam Abdukerim Wei Chen Xun Chen YunHua Chen XiangYi Cui BinBin Dong DeQing Fang ChangBo Fu Karl Giboni Franco Giuliani LinHui Gu XuYuan Guo ZhiFan Guo Ke Han ChangDa He ShengMing He Di Huang XingTao Huang Zhou Huang Peng Ji XiangDong Ji YongLin Ju ShaoLi Li Yao Li Heng Lin HuaXuan Liu JiangLai Liu YuGang Ma YaJun Mao KaiXiang Ni JinHua Ning XiangXiang Ren Fang Shi AnDi Tan AnQing Wang Cheng Wang HongWei Wang Meng Wang QiuHong Wang SiGuang Wang XiuLi Wang XuMing Wang Zhou Wang MengMeng Wu ShiYong Wu JingKai Xia MengJiao Xiao PengWei Xie BinBin Yan JiJun Yang Yong Yang ChunXu Yu JuMin Yuan JianFeng Yue Dan Zhang Tao Zhang Li Zhao QiBin Zheng JiFang Zhou Ning Zhou XiaoPeng Zhou | 2019 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2019,62,3: | 6
The RECEPTOR-LIKE PROTEIN53 immune complex associates with LLG1 to positively regulate plant immunity显示文摘Pattern recognition receptors(PRRs)sense ligands in pattern-triggered immunity(PTI).Plant PRRs include numerous receptor-like proteins(RLPs),but many RLPs remain functionally uncharacterized. Here,we examine an Arabidopsis thaliana RLP,RLP53,which positively regulates immune signaling. Our forward genetic screen for suppressors of enhanced disease resistance1(edr1)identified a point mutation in RLP53 that fully suppresses disease resistance and mildewinduced cell death in edr1 mutants. The rlp53 mutants showed enhanced susceptibility to virulent pathogens, including fungi, oomycetes, and bacteria, indicating that RLP53 is important for plant immunity. The ectodomain of RLP53 contains leucine-rich repeat(LRR)motifs.RLP53 constitutively associates with the LRR receptorlike kinase SUPPRESSOR OF BRASSINOSTEROIDINSENSITIVE1-ASSOCIATEDKINASE(BAK1)-INTERACTINGRECEPTORKINASE1(SOBIR1)and interacts with the co-receptor BAK1 in a pathogen-induced manner. The double mutation sobir1-12 bak1-5 suppresses edr1-mediated disease resistance, suggesting that EDR1 negatively regulates PTI modulated by the RLP53–SOBIR1–BAK1 complex. Moreover, the glycosylphosphatidylinositol(GPI)-anchored protein LORELEI-LIKE GPI-ANCHORED PROTEIN1(LLG1)interacts with RLP53 and mediates RLP53 accumulation in the plasma membrane. We thus uncovered the role of a novel RLP and its associated immune complex in plant defense responses and revealed a potential new mechanism underlying regulation of RLP immune function by a GPI-anchored protein. | Renjie Chen Pengwei Sun Guitao Zhong Wei Wang Dingzhong Tang | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,9: | 4
The genome and gene editing system of sea barleygrass provide a novel platform for cereal domestication and stress tolerance studies显示文摘The tribe Triticeae provides important staple cereal crops and contains elite wild species with wide geneticdiversity and high tolerance to abiotic stresses. Sea barleygrass (Hordeum marinum Huds.), a wildTriticeae species, thrives in saline marshlands and is well known for its high tolerance to salinity and waterlogging. Here, a 3.82-Gb high-quality reference genome of sea barleygrass is assembled de novo, with 3.69Gb (96.8%) of its sequences anchored onto seven chromosomes. In total, 41 045 high-confidence (HC)genes are annotated by homology, de novo prediction, and transcriptome analysis. Phylogenetics, nonsynonymous/synonymous mutation ratios (Ka/Ks), and transcriptomic and functional analyses provide genetic evidence for the divergence in morphology and salt tolerance among sea barleygrass, barley, andwheat. The large variation in post-domestication genes (e.g. IPA1 and MOC1) may cause interspecies differences in plant morphology. The extremely high salt tolerance of sea barleygrass is mainly attributed tolow Na+ uptake and root-to-shoot translocation, which are mainly controlled by SOS1, HKT, and NHX transporters. Agrobacterium-mediated transformation and CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing systems weredeveloped for sea barleygrass to promote its utilization for exploration and functional studies of hubgenes and for the genetic improvement of cereal crops. | Liuhui Kuang Qiufang Shen Liyang Chen Lingzhen Ye Tao Yan Zhong-Hua Chen Robbie Waugh Qi Li Lu Huang Shengguan Cai Liangbo Fu Pengwei Xing Kai Wang Jiari Shao Feibo Wu Lixi Jiang Dezhi Wu Guoping Zhang | 2022 | Plant Communications2022,3,5: | 2
An Impedance-based Parameter Design Method for Active Damping of Load Converter Station in MTDC Distribution System显示文摘To achieve the efficient application of impedance analysis in the stability assessment and enhancement of multiterminal DC distribution systems, this paper proposes the DCside reduced-order impedance models with power control and AC voltage control, respectively, by taking the load converter station as the object. By using the DC-side current as the feedforward state, the active compensator applied to the load converter station with two control modes is also derived as well as the corresponding reduced-order impedance models. Combined with the reduced-order impedance models, a method based on damping factor sensitivity is further proposed to design the parameters of the derived active compensators. The verification results in the frequency domain and time domain demonstrate the accuracy of the reduced-order impedance and the effectiveness of the proposed compensator parameter design method. | Pengwei Chen Wenmeng Zhao Xin Chen Wenwei Jiang | 2022 | Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2022,10,5: | 2
Uncertainty quantification and reduction in metal additive manufacturing显示文摘Uncertainty quantification(UQ)in metal additive manufacturing(AM)has attracted tremendous interest in order to dramatically improve product reliability.Model-based UQ,which relies on the validity of a computational model, has been widely explored as a potential substitute for the time-consuming and expensive UQ solely based on experiments. However, its adoption in the practical AM process requires overcoming two main challenges:(1)the inaccurate knowledge of uncertainty sources and(2)the intrinsic uncertainty associated with the computational model. Here,we propose a data-driven framework to tackle these two challenges by combining high throughput physical/surrogate model simulations and the AM-Bench experimental data from the National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST).We first construct a surrogate model, based on high throughput physical simulations, for predicting the three-dimensional(3D)melt pool geometry and its uncertainty with respect to AM parameters and uncertainty sources. We then employ a sequential Bayesian calibration method to perform experimental parameter calibration and model correction to significantly improve the validity of the 3D melt pool surrogate model. The application of the calibrated melt pool model to UQ of the porosity level,an important quality factor,of AM parts, demonstrates its potential use in AM quality control. The proposed UQ framework can be generally applicable to different AM processes, representing a significant advance toward physicsbased quality control of AM products. | Zhuo Wang Chen Jiang Pengwei Liu Wenhua Yang Ying Zhao Mark F.Horstemeyer Long-Qing Chen Zhen Hu Lei Chen | 2020 | npj Computational Materials2020,,1: | 2

Identifying factors that influence soil heavy metals by using categorical regression analysis:A case study in Beijing,China显示文摘Identifying the factors that influence the heavy metal contents of soil could reveal the sources of soil heavy metal pollution. In this study,a categorical regression was used to identify the factors that influence soil heavy metals.First, environmental factors were associated with soil heavy metal data, and then, the degree of influence of different factors on the soil heavy metal contents in Beijing was analyzed using a categorical regression. The results showed that the soil parent material, soil type, land use type, and industrial activity were the main influencing factors, which suggested that these four factors were important sources of soil heavy metals in Beijing. In addition, population density had a certain influence on the soil Pb and Zn contents. The distribution of soil As,Cd,Pb,and Zn was markedly influenced by interactions, such as traffic activity and land use type, industrial activity and population density. The spatial distribution of soil heavy metal hotspots corresponded well with the influencing factors, such as industrial activity, population density, and soil parent material. In this study, the main factors affecting soil heavy metals were identified, and the degree of their influence was ranked.A categorical regression represents a suitable method for identifying the factors that influence soil heavy metal contents and could be used to study the genetic process of regional soil heavy metal pollution. | Jun Yang Jingyun Wang Pengwei Qiao Yuanming Zheng Junxing Yang Tongbin Chen Mei Lei Xiaoming Wan Xiaoyong Zhou | 2020 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,3: | 1
Restored intestinal integrity, nutrients transporters, energy metabolism, antioxidative capacity and decreased harmful microbiota were associated with IUGR piglet's catch-up growth before weanling显示文摘Background:Intrauterine growth restriction(IUGR)is a major inducer of higher morbidity and mortality in the pig industry and catch-up growth(CUG)before weanling could significantly restore this negative influence. But there was limited knowledge about the underlying mechanism of CUG occurrence. Methods:Eighty litters of newborn piglets were divided into normal birth weight(NBW)and IUGR groups according to birth weight. At 26 d,those piglets with IUGR but over average body weight of eighty litters of weaned piglets were considered as CUG,and the piglets with IUGR still below average body weight were considered as NCUG.This study was conducted to systemically compare the intestinal difference among NBW,CUG and NCUG weaned piglets considering the crucial role of the intestine for piglet growth. Results:The results indicated that the m RNA expression of nutrients(amino acids, glucose, and fatty acids)transporters, and mitochondrial electron transport chain(ETC)I were upregulated in CUG piglets'gut with improved morphology compared with those NCUG,as well as the ratio of P-AMPK/AMPK protein expression which is the indicator of energy metabolism.Meanwhile,CUG piglet's gut showed higher antioxidative capacity with increased SOD and GSHPx activity, decreased MDA levels,as well as higher m RNA expressions of Nrf2,Keap1,SOD,and GSH-Px.Furthermore,inflammatory parameters including TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,and IL-12 factors, and the activation of MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways were significantly elevated in the NCUG intestine, while the protein expression of ZO-1,Occludin and Claudin-1 was reduced. The alpha diversity of fecal microbiota was higher in CUG piglets in contrast with NCUG piglets, and the increased beneficial bacteria and decreased pathogenic bacteria was also observed in CUG piglets. Conclusions:CUG piglet's intestine showed comprehensive restoration including higher nutrients transport, energy metabolism, antioxidant capacity, and intestinal physical barrier, while lower oxidative stress, inflammatory response, and pathogenic microbiota. | Chang Cui Caichi Wu Jun Wang Ziwei Ma Xiaoyu Zheng Pengwei Zhu Nuan Wang Yuhua Zhu Wutai Guan Fang Chen | 2023 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2023,14,1: | 1

Activation of three natural product biosynthetic gene clusters from Streptomyces lavendulae CGMCC 4.1386 by a reporter-guided strategy显示文摘Along with the fast developing of DNA sequencing technology,a great number of natural product biosynthetic gene clusters have been discovered by bioinformatic analysis, which demands novel high-throughput genome mining methods to obtain the diverse compounds dictated by those gene clusters. In this work,a method based on the reporter gene xylE was established to screen for the activation conditions of thirteen different gene clusters from Streptomyces lavendulae CGMCC 4.1386.In this reporter-guided method, the key structure gene was replaced by a xylE-kanaR cassette with the xylE gene being controlled by the transcription and translation machinery of the key structure gene.It not only facilitated the screening of activation conditions, but also provided the null mutants of specific natural product gene clusters as controls to link those clusters with their products conveniently. The potential activation conditions of eleven gene clusters from S.lavendulae CGMCC 4.1386 were obtained. In addition, activation of three of the eleven gene clusters was confirmed and their products were identified. | Pengwei Li Zhengyan Guo Wei Tang Yihua Chen | 2018 | Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2018,3,4: | 1
Enhanced photon communication through Bayesian estimation with an SNSPD array显示文摘Laser communication using photons should consider not only the transmission environment’s effects, but also the performance of the single-photon detector used and the photon number distribution.Photon communication based on the superconducting nanowire single-photon detector(SNSPD)is a new technology that addresses the current sensitivity limitations at the level of single photons in deep space communication. The communication’s bit error rate(BER)is limited by dark noise in the space environment and the photon number distribution with a traditional single-pixel SNSPD,which is unable to resolve the photon number distribution. In this work,an enhanced photon communication method was proposed based on the photon number resolving function of four-pixel array SNSPDs.A simulated picture transmission was carried out,and the error rate in this counting mode can be reduced by 2 orders of magnitude when compared with classical optical communication. However,in the communication mode using photon-enhanced counting, the four-pixel response amplitude for counting was found to restrain the communication rate, and this counting mode is extremely dependent on the incident light intensity through experiments, which limits the sensitivity and speed of the SNSPD array’s performance advantage. Therefore,a BER theoretical calculation model for laser communication was presented using the Bayesian estimation algorithm in order to analyze the selection of counting methods for information acquisition under different light intensities and to make better use of the SNSPD array’s high sensitivity and speed and thus to obtain a lower BER.The counting method and theoretical model proposed in this work refer to array SNSPDs in the deep space field. | XIANG LI JINGROU TAN KAIMIN ZHENG LABAO ZHANG LIJIAN ZHANG WEIJI HE PENGWEI HUANG HAOCHEN LI BIAO ZHANG QI CHEN RUI GE SHUYA GUO TAO HUANG XIAOQING JIA QINGYUAN ZHAO XUECOU TU LIN KANG JIAN CHEN PEIHENG WU | 2020 | Photonics Research2020,8,5: | 1
Extending the nuclear chart by continuum:From oxygen to titanium显示文摘Nuclear masses ranging from O to Ti isotopes are systematically investigated with relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov(RCHB)theory,which can provide a proper treatment of pairing correlations in the presence of the continuum. From O to Ti isotopes, there are 402 nuclei predicted to be bound by the density functional PC-PK1.For the 234 nuclei with mass measured, the root mean square(rms)deviation is 2.23 MeV.It is found that the proton drip-lines predicted with various mass models are roughly the same and basically agree with the observation. The neutron drip-lines predicted, however, are quite diferent.Due to the continuum couplings, the neutron drip-line nuclei predicted are extended further neutron-rich than other mass models.By comparison with finite-range droplet model(FRDM),the neutron drip-line nucleus predicted by RCHB theory has respectively2(O),10(Ne),10(Na),6(Mg),8(Al),6(Si),8(P),6(S),14(K),10(Ca),10(Sc),and 12(Ti)more neutrons. | QU XiaoYing CHEN Ying ZHANG ShuangQuan ZHAO PengWei SHIN Ik Jae LIM Yeunhwan KIM Youngman MENG Jie | 2013 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,11: | 1
Enhanced efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells by 2D perovskite vapor-assisted interface optimization显示文摘Organic–inorganic perovskites solar cells(PSCs)have attracted great attention due to their rapid progress in power conversion efficiency(PCE).However, there is still an enormous challenge to achieve both high efficiency and stability devices as the decomposition of perovskite materials under humid and light conditions.Herein,we demonstrate that high efficiency and stability of PSCs can be obtained by the reaction of three-dimensional(3D)perovskite with 1,4-butanediamine iodide(BEAI2)vapor.The incorporation of BEAI2 intensively promotes the crystallization of perovskite film with large grain size(~500 nm).Further characterization reveals that the post-treatment perovskite film delivered low interface trap density with long carrier lifetime(>200 ns),long carrier diffusion length(>600 nm)and large carrier mobility(>1.5 cm^2 V-1S-1).Solar cells employing such post-treatment films demonstrated 19.58%PCE without hysteresis. Moreover, the post-treatment devices can retain over 90%original efficiencies stored under ambient atmospheric conditions and exhibit better stability under 85℃and continuous illumination as a two-dimensional(2D)perovskite thin layer is formed on the surface/or at the grain boundaries of 3D perovskite. This study offers an effective way to obtain PSCs with high efficiency and stability. | Minghui Chen Pengwei Li Chao Liang Hao Gu Weishuang Tong Shiping Cheng Weili Li Ganqing Zhao Guosheng Shao | 2020 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,6: | 1

Insights into the biosynthesis of septacidin L-heptosamine moiety unveils a VOC family sugar epimerase显示文摘L-Heptopyranoses are important components of bacterial polysaccharides and biological active secondary metabolites like septacidin(SEP),which represents a group of nucleoside antibiotics with antitumor, antifungal, and pain-relief activities. However, little is known about the formation mechanisms of those L-heptose moieties. In this study,we deciphered the biosynthetic pathway of the L,L-gluco-heptosamine moiety in SEPs by functional characterizing four genes and proposed that SepI initiates the process by oxidizing the 4’-hydroxyl of L-glycero-α-D-manno-heptose moiety of SEP-328(2)to a keto group.Subsequently,SepJ(C5 epimerase)and SepA(C3 epimerase)shape the 4’-keto-L-heptopyranose moiety by sequential epimerization reactions. At the last step,an aminotransferase SepG installs the 4’-amino group of the L,L-gluco-heptosamine moiety to generate SEP-327(3).An interesting phenomenon is that the SEP intermediates with 4’-keto-L-heptopyranose moieties exist as special bicyclic sugars with hemiacetal-hemiketal structures.Notably,L-pyranose is usually converted from D-pyranose by bifunctional C3/C5 epimerase.SepA is an unprecedented monofunctional L-pyranose C3 epimerase.Further in silico and experimental studies revealed that it represents an overlooked metal dependent-sugar epimerase family bearing vicinal oxygen chelate(VOC)architecture. | Meng Chen Zhengyan Guo Jinyuan Sun Wei Tang Min Wang Yue Tang Pengwei Li Bian Wu Yihua Chen | 2023 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,2: | 0
