| 9 | Hall Effect on Falkner–Skan Boundary Layer Flow of FENE-P Fluid over a Stretching Sheet显示文摘The Falkner-Skan boundary layer steady flow over a flat stretching sheet is investigated in this paper.The mathematical model consists of continuity and the momentum equations, while a new model is proposed for MHD Finitely Extensible Nonlinear Elastic Peterlin(FENE-P) fluid. The effects of Hall current with the variation of intensity of non-zero pressure gradient are taken into account. The governing partial differential equations are first transformed to ordinary differential equations using appropriate similarity transformation and then solved by Adomian decomposition method(ADM). The obtained results are validated by generalized collocation method(GCM) and found to be in good agreement. Effects of pertinent parameters are discussed through graphs and tables. | 10 | The Netflix Translation of Humour from the Egyptian Vernacular Dialect into MSA: the Case of “el-Limby” and “Illy Baly Balak” Films显示文摘Humour is the infallible and never-outdated medium for creating intimacy and collective understanding among peoples of versatile interests and,sometimes,conflicting attitudes.It is the moment of catching the humorous effect that counts.Humour creation is not easy because the factors that would trigger laughter vary from one person to another.Creating humour on an international level demands distinguished abilities,as it is hard to accommodate all the factors that would motivate diverse peoples and social brackets to laugh at the same time for the same reason,due to national,historical and cultural factors.The hypothesis is based upon the assumption that the world societies speak the same language with the same dialect.Yet,the situation gets complicated if translation problems and techniques are considered,and it turns to exigently complex when the source dialect differs from that of the targeted audience.However,the latter case has never been a problem for the Egyptian drama,as the entire Middle Eastern societies can transcend the dialect barrier.Notably,the vernacular dialects in the Middle East region are fundamentally diverse to extent that they are,sometimes,incomprehensible altogether.Recently,along with the growing hegemony of the online streaming forums as well as their attempt to glo-balise the streamed content to attract more subscribers,an active process of subtitling and dubbing are initiated.In the process,all the problems of translation,subtitling and dubbing came to the fore.The article discusses the Netflix intralingual subtitling/dubbing of the Egyptian comedies from the Egyptian vernacular dialect into MSA with reference to the famous^([20])and hilariously comic Egyptian films“el-Limby”(2002)and“Illy Baly^([21])Balak[You-Know-Who]”(2003)starred by the Egyptian actor Mohamed S’ad.The article also seeks to underline the influence of the Netflix subti-tled/dubbed MSA content upon the Middle East region. | Naeema Abdelgawad | 2022 | Journal of Linguistics and Education Research2022,5,1: | 0 |
| 11 | Dual Solutions of MHD Boundary Layer Flow of a Micropolar Fluid with Weak Concentration over a Stretching/Shrinking Sheet显示文摘We investigate the dual solutions for the MHD flow of micropolar fluid over a stretching/shrinking sheet with heat transfer. Suitable relations transform the partial differential equations into the ordinary differential equations.Closed forms solutions are also obtained in terms of confluent hypergeometric function. This is the first attempt to determine the exact solutions for the non-linear equations of MHD micropolar fluid model. It is demonstrated that the microrotation parameter helps in increasing Nusselt number and the dual solutions exist for all fluid flow parameters under consideration. | 12 | Estimation of boundary-layer flow of a nanofluid past a stretching sheet: A revised model显示文摘The previous model for the boundary layer nanofluid flow past a stretching surface with a specified nanoparticle volume fraction on the surface is revisited.The major limitation of the previous model is the active control of the nanoparticle volume fraction on the surface.In a revised model proposed in this paper,the nanoparticle volume fraction on the surface is passively controlled,which accounts for the effects of both the Brownian motion and the thermophoresis under the boundary condition,whereas the Buongiorno's model considers both effects in the governing equations.The assumption of zero nanoparticle flux on the surface makes the model physically more realistic.In the revised model,the dimensionless heat transfer rates are found to be higher whereas the dimensionless mass transfer rates are identically zero due to the passive boundary condition.It is also found that the Brownian motion parameter has a negligible effect on the Nusselt number. | Naeema ISHFAQ Zafar Hayat KHAN Waqar Ahmad KHAN Richard J.CULHAM | 2016 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2016,28,4: | 0 |
