11Efficient Feature Selection and ML Algorithm for Accurate Diagnostics显示文摘Machine learning algorithms have been deployed in numerous optimization,prediction and classification problems.This has endeared them for application in fields such as computer networks and medical diagnosis.Although these machine learning algorithms achieve convincing results in these fields,they face numerous challenges when deployed on imbalanced dataset.Consequently,these algorithms are often biased towards majority class,hence unable to generalize the learning process.In addition,they are unable to effectively deal with high-dimensional datasets.Moreover,the utilization of conventional feature selection techniques from a dataset based on attribute significance render them ineffective for majority of the diagnosis applications.In this paper,feature selection is executed using the more effective Neighbour Components Analysis(NCA).During the classification process,an ensemble classifier comprising of K-Nearest Neighbours(KNN),Naive Bayes(NB),Decision Tree(DT)and Support Vector Machine(SVM)is built,trained and tested.Finally,cross validation is carried out to evaluate the developed ensemble model.The results shows that the proposed classifier has the best performance in terms of precision,recall,F-measure and classification accuracy.Vincent Omollo Nyangaresi Nidhal Kamel Taha El-Omari Judith Nyakanga Nyakina 2022Journal of Computer Science Research2022,4,1:1

14Numerical investigation of velocity ratio effect in combined wall and offset jet flows显示文摘In the present work, we propose to numerically study a combined turbulent wall and offset jet flow(this combination will be denoted WOJ). Several turbulence models were tested in this study: the standard k-w, SST k-w, standard k-ε, RNG, and realizable k-ε model. A parametric study was performed to determine the effect of offset ratio H and the velocity ratio r on the longitudinal and transverse positions of the merge point(MP), the combined point(CP), the upper vortex center(UVC) and the lower vortex center(LVC). Correlations that predict the position of these characteristic points of the WOJ flow as a function of H and r have been provided. Results show that any increase in the velocity ratio causes a displacement of the MP, CP, UVC and LVC further upstream along the longitudinal direction. Concerning the transverse positions, the increase of velocity ratio results in a deviation of the merge point(MP) and the lower vortex center(LVC) toward the strong jet(LWJ) whereas the transverse position of combined point(CP) and the upper vortex center(UVC) is almost independent of the velocity ratio.Nidhal Hnaien Salwa Marzouk Habib Ben Aissia Jacques Jay 2018Journal of Hydrodynamics2018,30,6:1

18Detection of Copy-Move Forgery in Digital Images Using Singular Value Decomposition显示文摘This paper presents an improved approach for detecting copy-move forgery based on singular value decomposition(SVD).It is a block-based method where the image is scanned from left to right and top to down by a sliding window with a determined size.At each step,the SVD is determined.First,the diagonal matrix’s maximum value(norm)is selected(representing the scaling factor for SVD and a fixed value for each set of matrix elements even when rotating thematrix or scaled).Then,the similar norms are grouped,and each leading group is separated into many subgroups(elements of each subgroup are neighbors)according to 8-adjacency(the subgroups for each leading group must be far from others by a specific distance).After that,a weight is assigned for each subgroup to classify the image as forgery or not.Finally,the F1 score of the proposed system is measured,reaching 99.1%.This approach is robust against rotation,scaling,noisy images,and illumination variation.It is compared with other similarmethods and presents very promised results.Zaid Nidhal Khudhair Farhan Mohamed Amjad Rehman Tanzila Saba Saeed Ali bahaj 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,2:1
