| 1 | HYDRODYNAMIC AND ELASTOHYDRODYNAMIC STUDIES OF A CYLINDRICAL JOURNAL BEARING显示文摘In this article,the effect of the bearing elastic deformation on the performance characteristics of a cylindrical journal bearing is analyzed.The variety of simulation models covers hydrodynamic(HD) and elastohydrodynamic(EHD) lubrication theories.The Reynolds equations governing the flow in the clearance space of the journal bearing are obtained by considering the effect of mass transfer across the fluid film.The finite element method with an iteration scheme was employed to solve both the Reynolds equation and the three-dimensional elasticity equation representing the displacement field in the bearing shell.The converged solutions for the lubricant flow and elastic deformation vector are obtained.Dynamic characteristics of the journal bearing are computed for HD and EHD theories.Numerical simulation results show that the flexibility of bearing liner has a significant influence on the performance of a cylindrical journal bearing.Indeed,the elastic deformations of the bearing liner extend the pressure area in the bearing and increase the minimum film thickness.Although,dynamic coefficient,load capacity and attitude angle decrease. | ATTIA HILI Molka BOUAZIZ Slim MAATAR Mohamed FAKHFAKH Tahar HADDAR Mohamed | 2010 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2010，22，2： | 12 |
| 2 | Metachronous cancer of gallbladder and pancreas with pancreatobiliary maljunction显示文摘Pancreaticobiliary maljunction is a congenital anomaly in which the junction between the pancreatic duct and the common bile duct is located outside the sphincter of Oddi.It is well known that pancreaticobiliary maljunction is frequently associated with carcinoma of the biliary tract.We report a case of metachronous cancer of the gallbladder and pancreas associated with pancreaticobiliary maljunction and cystic dilatation of common bile duct in a 68-year-old Tunisian woman who underwent a cholecystectomy for acute cholecystitis.The pancreatic tumor was an adenosquamous carcinoma.Pancreaticobiliary maljunction allows for pancreatobiliary or biliopancreatic reflux which may induce biliary tract carcinoma.Few cases of multifocal cancer associated with this anomaly have been reported.The association with pancreatic carcinoma remains rare.Close attention should be given to both the biliary tract system and pancreas during the long-term follow-up of patients with pancreaticobiliary maljunction,especially after they have undergone a choledochojejunostomy. | Ahlem Lahmar Sadri Ben Abid Mohamed Nafaa Arfa Rached Bayar Mohamed Tahar Khalfallah Sabah Mzabi-Regaya | 2010 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery2010，2，4： | 8 |
| 3 | Formal Reasoning About Finite-State Discrete-Time Markov Chains in HOL显示文摘Markov chains are extensively used in modeling different aspects of engineering and scientific systems, such as performance of algorithms and reliability of systems. Different techniques have been developed for analyzing Markovian models, for example, Markov Chain Monte Carlo based simulation, Markov Analyzer, and more recently probabilistic model-checking. However, these techniques either do not guarantee accurate analysis or are not scalable. Higher-order-logic theorem proving is a formal method that has the ability to overcome the above mentioned limitations. However, it is not mature enough to handle all sorts of Markovian models. In this paper, we propose a formalization of Discrete-Time Markov Chain (DTMC) that facilitates formal reasoning about time-homogeneous finite-state discrete-time Markov chain. In particular, we provide a formal verification on some of its important properties, such as joint probabilities, Chapman-Kolmogorov equation, reversibility property, using higher-order logic. | 14 | Evaluating the impact of mass housings'in-between spaces'spatial configuration on users'social interaction显示文摘This research examines the impact of in-between space configuration on users'social practices.The effects of different degrees of permeability of these spaces on the social interactions of the inhabitants are also analyzed.This research is based on a comparative approach using space syntax analysis and snapshot observations on four mass housing neighborhoods in Serif,Algeria.The neighborhoods are selected according to their degree of permeability,location in the city,realization period,and syntax measures from integrated to segregated.The activity patterns of two-week days for each study case are observed and recorded.Correlation results of observed social activities and syntactic measures demonstrate that spatial configuration affects people's use of in-between spaces.Moreover,connectivity and clustering coefficients are revealed to be important indicators of social activities.Previous urban studies argued that integrated spaces are mostly used by people.However,social interaction in the studied cases increases in the least connected areas,adjoining spaces to the buildings,and most closed spaces.This research finds that social activities are dependent on the degree of permeability,which when low,gives rise to increased social interaction and activities. | Wiem Zerouati Tahar Bellal | 2020 | Frontiers of Architectural Research2020，9，1： | 1 |
