1High prevalence of multidrug-resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii and dissemination of carbapenemase-encoding genes bla_(OXA-23-like),bla_(OXA-24-like)and bla_(NDM-1) in Algiers hospitals显示文摘Objective:To assess and characterize antibiotic resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii strains recovered from 5 health-care facilities in Algiers.Methods:Antibiotic susceptibility testing was performed by agar diffusion and agar dilution methods,resistance genes were identified by PCR and sequencing,and molecular typing of isolates was carried out by enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus-PCR(ERIC-PCR).Results:Among 125 tested isolates,117(93.6% ) were multidrug-resistant.of which 94(75.2% ) were imipenem resistant.The bla_(ADC)and bla_(OXA-51-like) genes were detected in all isolates,in association with ISAba I sequence in 84% and 8% (imipenem resistant) of isolates,respectively.The bla_(OXA-23-like) and bla_(OXA-24-like)carbapenemase genes were delected in 67.02% and 20.21% of imipenem-resistant isolates,respectively.The bla_(OXA-23-like) gene is linked to ISAba1 or ISAba4 elements.The metallo-β-lactamase NDM-1 gene was found in 10(10.6% ) imipenem-resisianl strains from three hospitals,it is linked to ISAba125 clement in nine strains.Extended spectrum β-lactamases production was not detected.Imipenem and cefotaxime resistance phenolypes could not be transferred to Escherichia coli by conjugation.Outer membrane protein CarO gene was not delected in four imipenem-resisianl isolates.The aac(6')-1b.sul1,sul2,tetA and tetB genes were present in 5.31% .36.17% .77.65% .1.06% and 65.92% of strains,respectively.Class 1 integrons were detected in 23.4% strains.KRIC-PCR typing showed a genetic diversity among bla_(OXA-23-like) and bla_(OXA-24-like) positive strains,while clonality was observed among bla_(NDM-1)positives.Conclusions:This study highlighted the high prevalence of imipenem resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii in Algiers hospitals mediated mainly by bla_(OXA-23-like),bla_(OXA-24-like),and bla_(NDM-1) genes.Khadidja Khorsi Yamina Messai Moufida Hamidi Houria Ammari Rabah Bakour 2015Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2015,8,6:20
2Essential oils from Elaeoselinum asclepium: Chemical composition, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the chemical composition of the essential oil isolated from Elaeoselinum asclepium(L.) Bertol.(E. asclepium), and test the efficiency of the essential oil as an antimicrobial and antioxidant agent.Methods: Essential oil was obtained from the aerial parts of E. asclepium by hydro distillation and analyzed by gas chromatography and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry. We study for the first time the chemical composition of the essential oil of E. asclepium, followed by the in vitro antimicrobial activities, which were evaluated by agar diffusion method against six Gram-positive bacteria, five Gram-negative bacteria, and two fungi. In addition, The antioxidant activities were also investigated using assays of 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity and ferricreducing capacity.Results: The analyzed essential oil of the aerial parts of E. asclepium was rich in apinene(43.9%), other compounds detected in appreciable amounts were sabinene(27.9%) and b-pinene(16.0%). The essential oil yields 1.2%, the IC50 values of essential oil in 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl assay in the reducing power assay were 48.26 mg/m L and at 1 mg/m L, respectively. The absorbance value of essential oil at 700 nm was0.956. The antimicrobial effect was higher on Candida albicans ATCC 1024 strain with the inhibition zone 14.5 mm than bacteria and molds.Conclusions: The essential oil of E. asclepium has antimicrobial and antioxidant activities. 6Explaining the increased mortality in type 1 diabetes显示文摘Despite large improvements in the management of glucose levels and in the treatment of cardiovascular risk factors,the mortality rate in individuals with type 1 diabetes(T1D) is still high.Recently,Lind et al found that T1 D individuals with glycated hemoglobin levels of 6.9% or lower had a risk of death from any cause or from cardiovascular causes that is twice as high as the risk for matched controls.T1 D is a chronic disease with an early onset(e.g.,pediatric age) and thus in order to establish a clear correlation between death rate and the glycometabolic control,the whole history of glycemic control should be considered; particularly in the early years of diabetes.The switch from a normoto hyperglycemic milieu in an individual with T1 D in the pediatric age,represents a stressful event that may impact outcomes and death rate many years later.In this paper we will discuss the aforementioned issues,and offer our view on these findings,paying a particular attention to the several alterations occurring in the earliest phases of T1 D and to the many factors that may be associated with the chronic history of T1 D.This may help us to better understand the recently published death rate data and to develop future innovative and effective preventive strategies.Chiara Mameli Sara Mazzantini Moufida Ben Nasr Paolo Fiorina Andrea E Scaramuzza Gian Vincenzo Zuccotti 2015World Journal of Diabetes2015,6,7:1

17Enhanced radiation characteristics for antipodal Vivaldi antenna using high permittivity dielectric director显示文摘In this paper,we investigate the influence of higher permittivity dielectric director on the radiation performances of an antipodal Vivaldi antenna.An elliptical dielectric director with high permittivity is inserted in an antipodal Vivaldi antenna aperture in order to ameliorate the radiation characteristics of the antenna.Due to the capacity of elevated permittivity dielectric to confine and guide energy in the desired direction,an increment of 4 dB in the gain of the antenna is obtained.This antenna,which covers an ultra-wide frequency band of 146.8%from 2.3 GHz to 15 GHz,has approximately regular radiation patterns with reduced side lobe level and narrower beamwidth.In the interest to achieve radar application necessities,the proposed antenna is exploited to develop an antenna array which consists of four connected elements.Adding dielectric directors can significantly enhance the radiations characteristics of the antenna and reduce the mutual coupling inter-elements.So using four elements with dielectric director in the antenna array can achieve the same results obtained with eight elements without directors.This can decrease the used number of elements that form the antenna array.Rabiaa Herzi Moufida Bouslama Ali Gharsallah 2017Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2017,7,3:0

20Optimal Robust Control for Unstable Delay System显示文摘Proportional-Integral-Derivative control system has been widely used in industrial applications.For uncertain and unstable systems,tuning controller parameters to satisfy the process requirements is very challenging.In general,the whole system’s performance strongly depends on the controller’s efficiency and hence the tuning process plays a key role in the system’s response.This paper presents a robust optimal Proportional-Integral-Derivative controller design methodology for the control of unstable delay system with parametric uncertainty using a combination of Kharitonov theorem and genetic algorithm optimization based approaches.In this study,the Generalized Kharitonov Theorem(GKT)for quasi-polynomials is employed for the purpose of designing a robust controller that can simultaneously stabilize a given unstable second-order interval plant family with time delay.Using a constructive procedure based on the Hermite-Biehler theorem,we obtain all the Proportional-Integral-Derivative gains that stabilize the uncertain and unstable second-order delay system.Genetic Algorithms(GAs)are utilized to optimize the three parameters of the PID controllers and the three parameters of the system which provide the best control that makes the system robust stable under uncertainties.Specifically,the method uses genetic algorithms to determine the optimum parameters by minimizing the integral of time-weighted absolute error ITAE,the Integral-Square-Error ISE,the integral of absolute error IAE and the integral of time-weighted Square-Error ITSE.The validity and relatively effortless application of presented theoretical concepts are demonstrated through a computation and simulation example.Rihem Farkh Khaled A.Aljaloud Moufida Ksouri Faouzi Bouani 2021Computer Systems Science & Engineering2021,36,2:0
