| 5 | A data-driven model predictive control for lighting system based on historical occupancy in an office building: Methodology development显示文摘The lighting system accounts for 8%of the total electricity consumption in commercial buildings in the United States and 12%of the total electricity consumption in public buildings globally.This consumption share can be effectively reduced using the demand-response control.The traditional lighting system control method commonly depends on the real-time occupancy data collected using the passive infrared(PIR)sensor.However,the detection inaccuracy of the PIR sensor usually results in false-offs.To diminish the false-error frequency,the existing lighting system control simply deploys a delayed reaction period(e.g.,5 to 20 min),which is not sufficiently accurate for the demand-response operation.Therefore,in this research,a novel data-driven model predictive control(MPC)method that is based on the temporal sequential-based artificial neural network(TS-ANN)is proposed to overcome this challenge using an updated historical occupancy status.Using an office as case study,the proposed model is also compared with the traditional lighting system control method.In the proposed model,the occupancy data was trained to predict the occupancy pattern to improve the control.It was found that the occupancy prediction mainly correlates with the historical occupancy ratio and the time sequential feature.The simulation results indicated that the proposed method achieved higher accuracy(97.4%)and fewer false-offs(from 79.5 with traditional time delay method to 0.6 times per day)are achieved by the MPC model.The proposed TS-ANN-MPC method integrates the analysis of the occupant behavior routine into on-site control and has the potential to further enhance the control performance practice for maximum energy conservation. | Yuan Jin Da Yan Xingxing Zhang Jingjing An Mengjie Han | 2021 | Building Simulation2021,14,1: | 6 |
| 6 | Discrimination of False Negative Results in RT-PCR Detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNAs in Clinical Specimens by Using an Internal Reference显示文摘Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)is an essential method for specific diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection.Unfortunately,false negative test results are often reported.In this study,we attempted to determine the principal causes leading to false negative results of RT-PCR detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNAs in respiratory tract specimens.Multiple sputum and throat swab specimens from 161 confirmed COVID-19 patients were tested with a commercialfluorescent RT-PCR kit targeting the ORF1 ab and N regions of SARS-CoV-2 genome.The RNA level of a cellular housekeeping gene ribonuclease P/MRP subunit p30(RPP30)in these specimens was also assessed by RT-PCR.Data for a total of 1052 samples were retrospectively re-analyzed and a strong association between positive results in SARS-CoV-2 RNA tests and high level of RPP30 RNA in respiratory tract specimens was revealed.By using the ROC-AUC analysis,we identified Ct cutoff values for RPP30 RT-PCR which predicted false negative results for SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR with high sensitivity(95.03%–95.26%)and specificity(83.72%–98.55%)for respective combination of specimen type and ampli-fication reaction.Using these Ct cutoff values,false negative results could be reliably identified.Therefore,the presence of cellular materials,likely infected host cells,are essential for correct SARS-CoV-2 RNA detection by RT-PCR in patient specimens.RPP30 could serve as an indicator for cellular content,or a surrogate indicator for specimen quality.In addition,our results demonstrated that false negativity accounted for a vast majority of contradicting results in SARS-CoV-2 RNA test by RT-PCR. | Yafei Zhang Changtai Wang Mingfeng Han Jun Ye Yong Gao Zhongping Liu Tengfei He Tuantuan Li Mengyuan Xu Luping Zhou Guizhou Zou Mengji Lu Zhenhua Zhang | 2020 | Virologica Sinica2020,35,6: | 5 |

And the appropriate BSA concentration was explored. Compared with DBM, the scaffold with BSA coating had a smaller pore size and a lower porosity, also, the degradation rate was accelerated and the hydrophilic property was improved. | 14 | Achieving simultaneous Cu particles anchoring in meso-porous TiO_(2) nanofabrication for enhancing photo-catalytic CO_(2) reduction through rapid charge separation显示文摘A facile solvo-thermal approach was successfully employed to prepare titanium oxide (TiO_(2)) nano-aggregates with simultaneous copper particles anchoring. The as-synthesized composite could convert CO_(2) into CH_(4) and CO products under simulated solar irradiation. The impact of copper loading amounts on the photo-reduction capability was evaluated. It was found proper amount of Cu loading could enhance the activity of CO_(2) photo-reduction. As a result, the optimal composite (TiO_(2)^(-)Cu-5%) consisting of TiO_(2) supported with 5% (mole ratio) Cu exhibits 2.2 times higher CH_(4) yield and 3 times higher CO yield compared with pure TiO_(2). Conduction band calculated from the band gap and valence X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) indicated TiO_(2) nano-aggregates have suitable band edge alignment with respect to the CO_(2)/CH_(4) and CO_(2)/CO redox potential. Furthermore, with involving of Cu particles, an efficient separation of photo-generated charges was achieved on the basis of photocurrent response and photoluminescence spectra results, which contributed to the improved photo-catalytic performance. | 17 | Driving forces behind the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of land-use and land-cover change:A case study of the Weihe River Basin,China显示文摘The impact of socioeconomic development on land-use and land-cover change(LUCC)in river basins varies spatially and temporally.Exploring the spatiotemporal evolutionary trends and drivers of LUCC under regional disparities is the basis for the sustainable development and management of basins.In this study,the Weihe River Basin(WRB)in China was selected as a typical basin,and the WRB was divided into the upstream of the Weihe River Basin(UWRB),the midstream of the Weihe River Basin(MWRB),the downstream of the Weihe River Basin(DWRB),the Jinghe River Basin(JRB),and the Luohe River Basin(LRB).Based on land-use data(cultivated land,forestland,grassland,built-up land,bare land,and water body)from 1985 to 2020,we analyzed the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of LUCC in the WRB using a land-use transfer matrix and a dynamic change model.The driving forces of LUCC in the WRB in different periods were detected using the GeoDetector,and the selected influencing factors included meteorological factors(precipitation and temperature),natural factors(elevation,slope,soil,and distance to rivers),social factors(distance to national highway,distance to railway,distance to provincial highway,and distance to expressway),and human activity factors(population density and gross domestic product(GDP)).The results indicated that the types and intensities of LUCC conversions showed considerable disparities across different sub-basins,where complex conversions among cultivated land,forestland,and grassland occurred in the LRB,JRB,and UWRB,with higher dynamic change before 2000.The conversion of other land-use types to built-up land was concentrated in the UWRB,MWRB,and DWRB,with substantial increases after 2000.Additionally,the driving effects of the influencing factors on LUCC in each sub-basin also exhibited distinct diversity,with the LRB and JRB being influenced by the meteorological and social factors,and the UWRB,MWRB,and DWRB being driven by human activity factors.Moreover,the interaction of these influencing factors indicated an enhanced effect on LUCC.This study confirmed the spatiotemporal heterogeneity effects of socioeconomic status on LUCC in the WRB under regional differences,contributing to the sustainable development of the whole basin by managing sub-basins according to local conditions. | WU Jingyan LUO Jungang ZHANG Han YU Mengjie | 2023 | Journal of Arid Land2023,15,3: | 0 |
| 18 | HIV incidenee and risk factors among transgender women and cisgender men who have sex with men in two cities of China:a prospective cohort study显示文摘Background:HIV epidemic among men who have sex with men(MSM)remains a major public health concern in China.Despite a growing body of research on transgender women worldwide,little is known about Chinese transgender women within MSM.We sought to estimate HIV incidence and distinguish risk factors of HIV acquisition among them from that among cisgener(non-transgender)MSM(cis-MSM).Methods:We conducted an open cohort study among Chinese MSM,including those who were identifed as transgender in Shanghai and Tianjin.Participants were initially recruited by local community-based organizations from January to June,2016,and were followed up approximately every 6 months until June 2018.At each visit,a structured questionnaire was used to gather information on demographics,sexual risk behaviors,and HIV status.HIV incidence was calculated as the number of seroconversions divided by total number of person-years of follow-up among HIV-negatives at baseline.Risk factors of HIV acquisition were assessed by univariate and multivariate Cox regression models with time-dependent variables.Results:A total of 1056 participants contributed 1260.53 person-years(PYs)of follow-up,33 HIV seroconversions occurred during the follow-up period,yielding an estimated HIV incidence of 2.62(95%CI 1.80–3.68)per 100 PYs.HIV incidence among transgender women was 4.42 per 100 PYs,which was signifcantly higher than that of 1.35 per 100 PYs among cis-MSM,demonstrating a threefold higher odds of HIV infection than cis-MSM.For transgender women,those lived locally≤2 years(adjusted hazard ratio[aHR]=1.76,95%CI 1.13–2.76)and unprotected anal sex last time(aHR=4.22,95%CI 1.82–9.79)were more likely to acquire HIV.For cis-MSM,factors associated with HIV acquisition were frequency of anal sex≥3 times in past one month(aHR=4.19,95%CI 1.06–16.47)and unprotected anal sex last time(aHR=5.33,95%CI 1.52–18.73).Conclusions:Compared to cis-MSM,transgender women were at higher risk of HIV acquisition,highlighting an urgent need of tailored prevention.Future HIV program should consider to include them to ensure that this population in China are not left behind. | Duo Shan Zhen Ning Maohe Yu Huang Zheng Jie Yang Hui Gong Jian Li Hui Liu Lu Liu Vania Wang Xiong Ran Mengjie Han Dapeng Zhang | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,2: | 0 |
| 19 | Bacteria-mediated tumor-targeted delivery of tumstatin(54-132)significantly suppresses tumor growth in mouse model by inhibiting angiogenesis and promoting apoptosis显示文摘Tumor growth is an angiogenesis-dependent process and accompanied by the formation of hypoxic areas.Tumstatin is a tumor-specific angiogenesis inhibitor that suppresses the proliferation and induces the apoptosis of tumorous vascular endothelial cells.VNP20009,an attenuated Salmonella typhimurium strain,preferentially accumulates in the hypoxic areas of solid tumors.In this study,a novel Salmonella-mediated targeted expression system of tumstatin(VNP-Tum5)was developed under the control of the hypoxia-induced J23100 promoter to obtain anti-tumor efficacy in mice.Treatment with VNP-Tum5 effectively suppressed tumor growth and prolonged survival in the mouse model of B16F10 melanoma.VNP-Tum5 exhibited a higher efficacy in inhibiting the proliferation and inducing the necrosis and apoptosis of B16F10 cells in vitro and in vivo compared with VNP(control).VNP-Tum5 significantly inhibited the proliferation and migration of mouse umbilical vascular endothelial cells to impede angiogenesis.VNP-Tum5 downregulated the expression of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor A,platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1,phosphorylated phosphoinositide 3 kinase,and phosphorylated protein kinase B and upregulated the expression of cleaved-caspase 3 in tumor tissues.This study is the first to use tumstatin-transformed VNP20009 as a tumor-targeted system for treatment of melanoma by combining anti-tumor and anti-angiogenic effects. | Feifei Bao Mengjie Liu Wenhua Gai Yuwei Hua Jing Li Chao Han Ziyu Zai Jiahuang Li Zichun Hua | 2022 | Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,6: | 0 |
| 20 | Self-shrinking supramolecular nanoparticles syndicate energy suppression and NIR-II mild photothermal amplification of mitochondrial oxidative stress for breast cancer therapy显示文摘Photothermal therapy(PTT)may lead to healthy tissue damage,tumor metastasis,and recurrence,which makes mild photothermal therapy(mild PTT)stand out.However,overcoming heat resistance,insufficient therapeutic effect,and poor photothermal conversion efficiency has become new challenge.Herein,we report a dynamic supramolecular nanocarrier formed from amide-sericin and aldehyde-polyhydroxy glucan(denoted as SDA),the loose cavity of which can be filled by using the pharmaceutical combination of lonidamine(LND)and NIR-II photothermal agent of IR-1061,producing SDLI with a tighter inner hole,smaller and uniform particle size and excellent stability due to multiple pulling forces.Moreover,the intricate internal network structure prevents the hydrophobic IR-1061 from forming aggregates in the small cavity,and the photothermal conversion efficiency(PCE)can reach 48.9%.At the acidic tumor microenvironment of pH 6.5,the controlled release of LND can solve the problem of heat resistance of NIR-II mild PTT and significantly improve the therapeutic effect of NIR-II mild PTT.Meanwhile,SDLI also shows a reasonable tumor inhibition rate,so the synergistic strategy of inhibiting tumor energy metabolism and NIR-II mild PTT to magnify mitochondrial oxidative stress,continuous cell stress state-induced immunogenic cell death to promote the induction of tumor apoptosis is proposed to achieve more effective cancer treatment. | Hongmei Liu Jiming Xu Mengjie Ye Hengbo Zhang Linlin Han Jingting Wang Peng Xue Yuejun Kang Zhigang Xu | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,5: | 0 |
