1Sequencing of Cultivated Peanut, Arachis hypogaea, Yields Insights into Genome Evolution and Oil Improvement显示文摘Cultivated peanut (Arachis hypogaea) is an allotetraploid crop planted in Asia, Africa, and America for edible oil and protein. To explore the origins and consequences of tetraploidy, we sequenced the allotetraploid A. hypogaea genome and compared it with the related diploid Arachis duranensis and Arachis ipaensis genomes. We annotated 39 888 A-subgenome genes and 41 526 B-subgenome genes in allotetraploid peanut. The A. hypogaea subgenomes have evolved asymmetrically, with the B subgenome resembling the ancestral state and the A subgenome undergoing more gene disruption, loss, conversion, and transposable element proliferation, and having reduced gene expression during seed development despite lacking genome-wide expression dominance. Genomic and transcriptomic analyses identified more than 2 500 oil metabolism-related genes and revealed that most of them show altered expression early in seed development while their expression ceases during desiccation, presenting a comprehensive map of peanut lipid biosynthesis. 2Methane–air explosion characteristics with different obstacle configurations显示文摘To investigate the flame and overpressure characteristics of methane–air explosion with different obstacle configurations,an experimental study has been conducted,taking account of the number of obstacles,obstacle distance from ignition source,and stream-wise and cross-wise obstacle positions.The results show that the flame speed and peak overpressure increase with the increasing number of obstacles,while the time to reach the peak is not fully determined by it.And the configuration having the farthest obstacle produces a higher overpressure and takes a longer time to reach the peak,but a slower flame propagation speed is obtained.Similar explosion characteristics are also observed in the configurations with two obstacles fixed at different stream-wise positions.Furthermore,the experimental results demonstrate that the peak overpressures and flame speeds in configurations with central or staggered obstacles are relatively higher,which should to be avoided in practical processes to minimize the risk associated with methane–air explosion.Wen Xiaoping Yu Minggao Ji Wentao Yue Meng Chen Junjie 2015International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2015,25,2:16
3Silicon-based four-mode division multiplexing for chip-scale optical data transmission in the 2 μm waveband显示文摘Based on a silicon platform, we design and fabricate a four-mode division(de)multiplexer for chip-scale optical data transmission in the 2 μm waveband for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. The(de)multiplexer is composed of three tapered directional couplers for both mode multiplexing and demultiplexing processes. In the experiment, the average crosstalk for four channels is measured to be less than-18 dB over a wide wavelength range(70 nm) from 1950 to 2020 nm, and the insertion losses are also assessed. Moreover, we further demonstrate stable 5 Gbit/s direct modulation data transmission through the fabricated silicon photonic devices with nonreturn-to-zero on–off keying signals. The experimental results show clear eye diagrams, and the penalties at a bit error rate of 3.8 × 10-3 are all less than 2.5 dB after on-chip data transmission. 4The efficacy and safety of nimodipine in acute ischemic stroke patients with mild cognitive impairment: a double-blind, randomized,placebo-controlled trial显示文摘Nimodipine might be effective in subcortical vascular dementia(VaD). Its benefit in preventing further cognitive decline in patients with acute ischemic stroke(AIS) and vascular mild cognitive impairment(VaMCI) remains to be established. In this multicenter, double-blind trial, we randomly assigned 654 eligible patients to nimodipine 30 mg three times a day or placebo. The primary outcome was any cognitive decline defined by the changes on the Mini-Mental State Examination(DMMSE à3) or vascular AD assessment scale cognitive subscale(DADAS-cog ! 4) at 6 months. Secondary outcomes included any distribution shift of DADAS-cog, DMMSE or cognitive improvement defined by DADAS-cog à2, or DMMSE ! 0. The primary outcome in the nimodipine group and placebo group were similar for DMMSE à3(4.18% and 7.22%, respectively, P = 0.15) and DADAS-cog ! 4(8.36% and 8.93% respectively,P = 0.88). The distribution shift of DADAS-cog and DMMSE differed significantly between the two groups(P = 0.03 and P = 0.05 respectively). Cognitive improvement occurred in 55.4% in the nimodipine group and 43.6% in the placebo group measured by DADAS-cog à2(Odds Ratio, 1.54; 95% confidence interval[CI] 1.10–2.14, P < 0.01) or 84.0% and 74.6% respectively by DMMSE ! 0(Odds Ratio, 1.79; 95% CI 1.18–2.70, P < 0.01). Nimodipine was associated with better cognitive function in the memory domain. The adverse events rate was similar in two groups. This study is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov,NCT01220622. 5AFM quantitative analysis and determination of shear angle of {259}_f martensitic surface relief显示文摘An attentive observation and quantitative analysis of {259}f martensitic surface relief in an Fe-23Ni-0.55C alloy are made by means of an atomic force microscope (AFM), and different martensitic variants' shear angles are determined in this paper. The experiments show that {259}f martensitic surface relief exhibits regular shape in many cases, which is in agreement with the prediction of invariant plane strain (IPS). Generally, {259}f martensitic surface relief appears to be 'N'-shaped, but it is tent-shaped in the case of zigzag-shaped martensite. The compressed deformation of parent phase diminishes the surface relief in size but with little change of its relief angle. {259}f martensitic surface relief, large or small, has approximately the same relief angles, exhibiting a good 'self-similar fractal'. 6Effects of rapid quenching on structure and cycle stability of La-Mg-Ni-Co type hydrogen storage alloy显示文摘In order to improve the cycle stability of La-Mg-Ni-Co type alloy electrode, rapid quenching technology was employed. The effects of rapid quenching on the microstructure and cycle stability of the alloy were investigated. The obtained results show that the La2Mg(Ni0.85Co0.15)9M0.1 (M=B, Cr) alloy electrodes are composed of (La, Mg)Ni3 phase, LaNi5 phase and a small amount of the LaNi2 phase. A trace of the Ni2B phase exists in the as-cast MB alloy, and the Ni2B phase in the alloy nearly disappears after rapid quenching. Rapid quenching technology can slightly improve the cycling life of the alloy. When the quenching rate increases from 0 m·s-1 (As-cast is defined as quenching rate of 0 m·s-1) to 30 m·s-1, the cycle lives of the MB, MCr alloys enhance from 86 and 87 cycles to 106 and 119 cycles, respectively. 7Abundant Production of Reactive Water Radical Cations under Ambient Conditions显示文摘Water radical cations,the crucial intermediates in many aqueous reactions and biochemical processes,are difficult to investigate experimentally due to their short lifetime andlowabundance.Herein,ahomemade device based on energy-tunable discharge was employed to deposit suitable amounts of energy to atmospheric pressure pure water vapor for abundant production of water radical cations,stabilized as(H_(2)O)n^(+·)(n=2-5)with a maximal abundance of≥8.3×10^(6) cps for(H_(2)O)_(2)^(+·),characterized by mass spectrometry(MS).The abundance of water radical cations was optimized by adjusting the experimental parameters such as the discharge voltage(2.5 kV),temperature of the MS inlet(140℃),carrier gas flow(20mL/min),and the distance between the discharge tip and MS inlet(12 mm).The ambient formation of water radical cationswas further confirmedby thehigh reactivity of as-prepared water radical cations,which reacted with benzene,ethyl acetate,and dimethyl disulfide instantly,showing rich chemistry with ionic and radical characteristics.Moreover,the computations usingCCSD(T)//MP2 method and density functional theory confirmed that the O-O single-electron bound dimer(B),as well as the hydronium hydroxyl radical complex(A),accounted for the unusual chemistry of the water radical cations,providing a facile approach to access the high reactivity ofwater radical cations under the ambient conditions.Meng Wang Xiao-Fei Gao Rui Su Peng He Yuan-Yuan Cheng Ke Li Dongbo Mi Xiaoping Zhang Xinglei Zhang Huanwen Chen R.Graham Cooks 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,4:3
8The protective effect and crucial biological pathways analysis of Trametes lactinea mycelium polysaccharides on acute alcoholic liver injury in mice based on transcriptomics and metabonomics显示文摘Trametes lactinea mycelia polysaccharides(TLMPS)have a wide range of bioactivities.The potential mechanisms of action of TLMPS against acute alcohol-induced liver injury in vivo were investigated by analyzing the physical and chemical properties of TLMPS and its protective effects on a mouse model of alcoholic liver injury.TLMPS protected the liver against alcohol-induced injury,as evidenced by the reduced alcohol-induced elevation of the liver index,serum biochemical indices,and maintenance of hepatic morphology.Potential mechanisms were analyzed using transcriptome and metabolome analyses.The transcriptome data revealed the involvement of many differentially expressed genes in chemical carcinogenesis,drug metabolism,and metabolism of xenobiotics by cytochrome P450.The metabolome analysis revealed that TLMPS significantly regulated specific metabolites in the liver,including organic acids,lipids,nucleosides,and organic oxygen compounds.KEGG enrichment analysis revealed the signifi cant involvement of different metabolites in choline metabolism,ATP-binding cassette transporters,and glycerophospholipid metabolism.Assessment of the changes in gene expression and metabolites revealed the significantly different expression of several genes encoding key enzymes and metabolites in choline metabolism pathway.The collective fi ndings confi rmed that choline metabolism plays an important role in the protective effects of TLMPS against acute alcoholic liver injury.Jinbin Hao Liyun Ye Guoliang Meng Yanjiao Song Junsheng Fu Xiaoping Wu 2021Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,4:2
9A Sequential Partial Optimization Algorithm for Design of Near Linear-Phase IIR Digital Differentiators显示文摘The linear phase is a major characteristic of digital differentiators in many signal processing applications. This study presents a sequential partial optimization method for designing a fullband infinite impulse response digital differentiator with a near linear phase. To achieve a near linear phase, the group delay is treated as an optimization variable, and the maximum phase error is minimized within a constrained domain. During each iteration of the algorithm, in addition to the whole numerator and group delay, only one second- order denominator factor is optimized. The necessary and sufficient stability triangles are applied to insure the stability of the differentiators, and the Gauss-Newton strategy is used to handle the non convexity of the design problems. 10Conserved and differentiated functions of CIK receptor kinases in modulating stem cell signaling in Arabidopsis显示文摘The shoot apical meristem(SAM)and root apical meristem(RAM)act as pools of stem cells that give rise to aboveground and underground tissues and organs in higher plants,respectively.The CLAVATA3(CLV3)-WUSCHEL(WUS)negative-feedback loop acts as a core pathway controlling SAM homeostasis,while CLV3/EMBRYO SURROUNDING REGION(ESR)40(CLE40)and WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMEOBOX5(WOX5),homologs of CLV3 and WUS,direct columella stem cell fate.Moreover,CLV3 INSENSITIVE KINASES(CIKs)have been shown to be essential for maintaining SAM homeostasis,whereas whether they regulate the distal root meristem remains to be elucidated.Here,we report that CIKs are indispensable for transducing the CLE40 signal to maintain homeostasis of the distal root meristem.We found that the cik mutant roots displayed disrupted quiescent center and delayed columella stem cell(CSC)differentiation.Biochemical assays demonstrated that CIKs interact with ARABIDOPSIS CRINKLY4(ACR4)in a ligand-independent manner and can be phosphorylated by ACR4 in vitro.In addition,the phosphorylation of CIKs can be rapidly induced by CLE40,which partially depends on ACR4.Although CIKs act as conserved and redundant regulators in the SAM and RAM,our results demonstrated that they exhibit differentiated functions in these meristems.Yafen Zhu Chong Hu Yanwei Cui Li Zeng Sunjingnan Li Mingsong Zhu Fanhui Meng Shuting Huang Li Long Jing Yi Jia Li Xiaoping Gou 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,7:2

14A H_(2)O-in-zircon perspective on the heterogeneous water content of crust-derived magmas in southern Tibet显示文摘Geophysical and geochemical evidence revealed that certain amounts of water are stored in the Earth’s interior,and its distribution exhibits temporal and spatial differences.Recent studies indicate that the H_(2)O-in-zircon has a potential to reveal magma water content.Using secondary ion mass spectrometry(SIMS),we analyzed the zircon water content and oxygen isotopes in granitoids(two-mica granite,quartz monzonite,diorite,and granodiorite)from southern Tibet.The results are used to explore the diversity of water content in crust-derived magmas,which is also supported by the LA-ICPMS zircon trace element analysis.There are low zircon water contents for two partial melting products of the ancient crust(peak at 85 and300 ppm,respectively).Meanwhile,there are high H_(2)O-in-zircon peaks(435 and 475 ppm,respectively)for two partial melting products of the juvenile crust.The calculated radiation damage accumulation in these zircon grains is below 3×10^(15)αdecay events mg^(–1),suggesting that the zircon grains are well crystalline.There is no correlation between REE+Y and H+P,indicating that the mechanism of charge balance for water uptaking into zircon,in which the excess of REE+Y to P controls Hcontent,is not applicable to the studied samples.The degree of magma fractionation cannot account for the zircon water content variation,because there is no co-variation between zircon Hf and H_(2)O contents.Similarly,the degree of partial melting was unlikely to be responsible for the H_(2)O-in-zircon distinction.We interpret that the H_(2)O-in-zircon variation reflects the influence of melting mode(dehydration vs.water-fluxed)and water content in the crustal source.In the Late Devonian,dehydration melting of the crustal rocks was facilitated at elevated temperatures,which produced magmas with the lowest water contents.Water-fluxed melting of the ancient crust would produce relatively“drier”magma than water-fluxed melting of the juvenile crust.Juntong MENG Xiaoping XIA Lin MA Ziqi JIANG Jian XU Zexian CUI Qing YANG Wanfeng ZHANG Le ZHANG 2021Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,7:1

19The Dof transcription factor COG1 acts as a key regulator of plant biomass by promoting photosynthesis and starch accumulation显示文摘Photosynthetic efficiency is the primary determinant of crop yield,including vegetative biomass and grain yield.Manipulation of key transcription factors known to directly control photosynthetic machinery can be an effective strategy to improve photosynthetic traits.In this study,we identified an Arabidopsis gain-of-function mutant,cogwheel1-3D,that shows a significantly enlarged rosette and increased biomass compared with wild-type plants.Overexpression of COG1,a Dof transcription factor,recapitulated the phenotype of cogwheel1-3D,whereas knocking out COG1 and its six paralogs resulted in a reduced rosette size and decreased biomass.Transcriptomic and quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction analyses demonstrated that COG1 and its paralogs were required for light-induced expression of genes involved in photosynthesis.Further chromatin immunoprecipitation and electrophoretic mobility shift assays indicated that COG1 can directly bind to the promoter regions of multiple genes encoding light-harvesting antenna proteins.Physiological,biochemical,and microscopy analyses revealed that COG1 enhances photosynthetic capacity and starch accumulation in Arabidopsis rosette leaves.Furthermore,combined results of bioinformatic,genetic,and molecular experiments suggested that the functions of COG1 in increasing biomass are conserved in different plant species.These results collectively demonstrated that COG1 acts as a key regulator of plant biomass by promoting photosynthesis and starch accumulation.Manipulating COG1 to optimize photosynthetic capacity would create new strategies for future crop yield improvement.Zhuoyun Wei Haoyong Zhang Meng Fang Shuyuan Lin Mingsong Zhu Yuxiu Li Limin Jiang Tianliang Cui Yanwei Cui Hong Kui Liang Peng Xiaoping Gou Jia Li 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,11:0
20Evaluation of the relationships and uncertainties of airborne and ground-based sea ice surface temperature measurements against remotely sensed temperature records显示文摘Sea ice surface temperature(IST)is an important indicator of environmental changes in the Arctic Ocean.In this study,the relative performance of four mainstream IST records,i.e.airborne IST,infrared radiometer measured IST(IR IST),longwave radiation derived IST(LWR IST),and snow and ice mass balance array buoy derived IST(Buoy IST),were evaluated against the MODIS IST product.Bias,standard deviation(STD),and root mean square error(RMSE)were used to evaluate the data quality.Results revealed that airborne IST had the best accuracy,which was 0.21 K colder than MODIS IST,with STD of 1.46 K and RMSE of 1.47 K.Ground-based ISTs were biased with each other but all warmer than the MODIS IST.The IR IST had the best overall accuracy(bias=0.55 K;STD=1.52 K;RMSE=1.61 K),while the LWR IST was the noisiest measurement with the largest outlier data percent.Besides,co-located IR and LWR ISTs were more consistent than any type of evaluated IST against MODIS IST(correlation coefficient=0.99).Airborne and IR ISTs are thus the premier choice for monitoring the rapidly changing Arctic sea ice,together with satellite observations.Pei Fan Xi Zhao Meng Qu Zhongnan Yan Ying Chen Zeyu Liang Xiaoping Pang 2022International Journal of Digital Earth2022,15,1:0
