| 1 | Epidemiology, causes, clinical manifestation and diagnosis, prevention and control of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) during the early outbreak period: a scoping review显示文摘Background:The coronavirus disease(COVID-19)has been identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness in Wuhan,Hubei Province,China beginning in December 2019.As of 31 January 2020,this epidemic had spread to 19 countries with 11791 confirmed cases, including 213 deaths. The World Health Organization has declared it a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. Methods:A scoping review was conducted following the methodological framework suggested by Arksey and O'Malley. In this scoping review,65 research articles published before 31 January 2020 were analyzed and discussed to better understand the epidemiology, causes, clinical diagnosis, prevention and control of this virus. The research domains, dates of publication, journal language, authors'affiliations, and methodological characteristics were included in the analysis. All the findings and statements in this review regarding the outbreak are based on published information as listed in the references. Results:Most of the publications were written using the English language(89.2%).The largest proportion of published articles were related to causes(38.5%)and a majority(67.7%)were published by Chinese scholars.Research articles initially focused on causes, but over time there was an increase of the articles related to prevention and control.Studies thus far have shown that the virus7 origination is in connection to a seafood market in Wuhan, but specific animal associations have not been confirmed.Reported symptoms include fever, cough, fatigue, pneumonia, headache, diarrhea, hemoptysis, and dyspnea.Preventive measures such as masks, hand hygiene practices, avoidance of public contact, case detection, contact tracing, and quarantines have been discussed as ways to reduce transmission. To date,no specific antiviral treatment has proven effective;hence, infected people primarily rely on symptomatic treatment and supportive care. Conclusions:There has been a rapid surge in research in response to the outbreak of COVID-19.During this early period, published research primarily explored the epidemiology, causes, clinical manifestation and diagnosis,as well as prevention and control of the novel coronavirus.Although these studies are relevant to control the current public emergency, more high-quality research is needed to provide valid and reliable ways to manage this kind of public health emergency in both the short-and long-term. | Sasmita Poudel Adhikari Sha Meng Yu-Ju Wu Yu-Ping Mao Rui-Xue Ye Qing-Zhi Wang Chang Sun Sean Sylvia Scott Rozelle Hein Raat Huan Zhou | 2020 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2020,9,2: | 28 |
| 2 | First dark matter search results from the PandaX-Ⅰ experiment显示文摘We report on the first dark-matter(DM)search results from PandaX-I,a low threshold dual-phase xenon experiment operating at the China JinPing Underground Laboratory. In the 37-kg liquid xenon target with 17.4 live-days of exposure,no DM particle candidate event was found. This result sets a stringent limit for low-mass DM particles and disfavors the interpretation of previously-reported positive experimental results. The minimum upper limit,3.7×10-44cm2,for the spin-independent isoscalar DM-particle-nucleon scattering cross section is obtained at a DM-particle mass of 49 GeV/c2at 90%confidence level. | XIAO MengJiao XIAO Xiang ZHAO Li CAO XiGuang CHEN Xun CHEN YunHua CUI XiangYi FANG DeQing FU ChangBo GIBONI Karl L. | 13 | Different responses of two Mosla species to potassium limitation in relation to acid rain deposition显示文摘The increasingly serious problem of acid rain is leading to increased potassium(K) loss from soils, and in our field investigation,we found that even congenerically relative Mosla species show different tolerance to K-deficiency.A hydroponic study was conducted on the growth of two Mosla species and their morphological, physiological and stoichiometric traits in response to limited(0.35 mmol K/L),normal(3.25 mmol K/L) and excessive(6.50 mmol K/L) K concentrations.Mosla hangchowensis is an endangered plant, whereas Mosla dianthera a widespread weed.In the case of M.hangchowensis,in comparison with normal K concentration,K-limitation induced a significant reduction in net photosynthetic rate(Pn),soluble protein content, and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity, but an increase in malondialdehyde(MDA) concentration. However, leaf mass ratio(LMR) and root mass ratio(RMR) were changed little by K-limitation.In contrast, for M.dianthera,K-limitation had little effect on Pn,soluble protein content,SOD activity, and MDA concentration, but increased LMR and RMR.Critical values of N(nitrogen):K and K:P(phosphorus) ratios in the shoots indicated that limitation in acquiring K occurred under K-limited conditions for M.hangchowensis but not for M.dianthera.We found that low K content in natural habitats was a restrictive factor in the growth and distribution of M.hangchowensis, and soil K-deficiency caused by acid rain worsened the situation of M.hang-chowensis,while M.dianthera could well acclimate to the increasing K-deficiency.We suggest that controlling the acid rain and applying K fertilizers may be an effective way to rescue the endangered M.hangchowensis. | Meng WANG Bao-jing GU Ying GE Zhen LIU De-an JIANG Scott X. | 14 | Modulation of the electronic states of perovskite SrCrO3 thin films through protonation via low-energy hydrogen plasma implantation approaches显示文摘Hydrogenation of transition metal oxides offers a powerful platform to tailor physical functionalities as well as for potential applications in modern electronic technologies. An ideal nondestructive and efficient hydrogen incorporation approach is important for the realistic technological applications. We demonstrate the proton injection on SrCro3 thin films via an efficient low-energy hydrogen plasma implantation experiments, without destroying the original lattice framework.Hydrogen ions accumu-late largely at the interfacial regions with amorphous character which extend about one-third of the total thickness. The Hx.SrCro3(HSCO)thin films appear like exfoliated layers which however retain the fully strained state with distorted perovskite structure.Proton doping induces the change of Cr oxidation state from Cr^4+to Cr^3+in HSCO thin films and a transition from metallic to insulat-ing phase. Our investigations suggest an attractive platform in manipulating the electronic phases in proton-based approaches and may offer a potential peeling off strategy for nanoscale devices through low-energy hydrogen plasma implantation approaches. | Meng Wu Shanquan Chen Chuanwei Huang Xing Ye Haiping Zhou Xiaochun Huang Kelvin H.L.Zhang Wensheng Yan Lihua Zhang Kisslinger Kim Yingge Du Scott Chambers Jin-Cheng Zheng Hui-Qiong Wang | 2020 | Frontiers of physics2020,15,1: | 0 |
| 15 | Bulk preparation of free-standing single-iron-atom catalysts directly as the air electrodes for high-performance zinc-air batteries显示文摘The keen interest in fuel cells and metal-air batteries stimulates a great deal of research on the development of a cost-efficient and high-performance catalyst as an alternative to traditional Pt to boost the sluggish oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)at the cathode.Herein,we report a facile and scalable strategy for the large-scale preparation of a free-standing and flexible porous atomically dispersed Fe-N-doped carbon microtube(FeSAC/PCMT)sponge.Benefiting from its unique structure that greatly facilitates the catalytic kinetics, mass transport, and electron transfer, our FeSAC/PCMT electrode exhibits excellent performance with an ORR potential of 0.942 V at^(-3) mA cm^(-2).When the FeSAC/PCMT sponge was directly used as an oxygen electrode for liquid-state and flexible solid-state zinc-air batteries, high peak power densities of 183.1 and 58.0 mW cm^(-2) were respectively achieved, better than its powdery counterpart and commercial Pt/C catalyst.Experimental and theoretical investigation results demonstrate that such ultrahigh ORR performance can be attributed to atomically dispersed Fe-N_(5) species in FeSAC/PCMT.This study presents a cost-effective and scalable strategy for the fabrication of highly efficient and flexible oxygen electrodes, provides a significant new insight into the catalytic mechanisms, and helps to realize significant advances in energy devices. | Hong-Bo Zhang Yu Meng Hong Zhong Lili Zhang Shichao Ding Lingzhe Fang Tao Li Yi Mei Peng-Xiang Hou Chang Liu Scott P.Beckman Yuehe Lin Hui-Ming Cheng Jin-Cheng Li | 2023 | Carbon Energy2023,5,5: | 0 |
| 16 | Intrinsic and Extrinsic Exciton Recombination Pathways in AgInS_(2)Colloidal Nanocrystals显示文摘Ternary I-III-VI2 nanocrystals(NCs),such as AgInS_(2) and CuInS_(2),are garnering interest as heavy-metal-free materials for photovoltaics, luminescent solar concentrators,LEDs,and bioimaging. The origin of the emission and absorption properties in this class of NCs is still a subject of debate.Recent theoretical and experimental studies revealed that the characteristic Stokesshifted and long-lived luminescence of stoichiometric CuInS_(2) NCs arises from the detailed structure of the valence band featuring two sublevels with different parity. The same valence band substructure is predicted to occur in AgInS_(2) NCs,yet no experimental confirmation is available to date. Here,we use complementary spectroscopic,spectro-electrochemical,and magneto-optical investigations as a function of temperature to investigate the band structure and the excitonic recombination mechanisms in stoichiometric AgInS_(2) NCs.Transient transmission measurements reveal the signatures of two subbands with opposite parity, and photoluminescence studies at cryogenic temperatures evidence a dark state emission due to enhanced exchange interaction, consistent with the behavior of stoichiometric CuInS_(2) NCs.Lowering the temperature as well as applying reducing electrochemical potentials further suppress electron trapping, which represents the main nonradiative channel for exciton decay, leading to nearly 100%emission efficiency. | Matteo L.Zaffalon Valerio Pinchetti Andrea Camellini Sergey Vikulov Chiara Capitani Bing Bai Meng Xu Francesco Meinardi Jiatao Zhang Liberato Manna Margherita Zavelani-Rossi Scott A.Crooker Sergio Brovelli | 2021 | Energy Material Advances2021,,1: | 0 |
