1Glial fibrillary acidic protein levels are associated with global histone H4 acetylation after spinal cord injury in rats显示文摘Emerging evidence has suggested global histone H4 acetylation status plays an important role in neural plasticity. For instance, the imbalance of this epigenetic marker has been hypothesized as a key factor for the development and progression of several neurological diseases. Likewise, astrocytic reactivity-a wellknown process that markedly influences the tissue remodeling after a central nervous system injury-is crucial for tissue remodeling after spinal cord injury(SCI). However, the linkage between the above-mentioned mechanisms after SCI remains poorly understood. We sought to investigate the relation between both glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP) and S100 calcium-binding protein B(S100B)(astrocytic reactivity classical markers) and global histone H4 acetylation levels. Sixty-one male Wistar rats(aged ~3 months) were divided into the following groups: sham; 6 hours post-SCI; 24 hours post-SCI; 48 hours post-SCI; 72 hours post-SCI; and 7 days post-SCI. The results suggested that GFAP, but not S100B was associated with global histone H4 acetylation levels. Moreover, global histone H4 acetylation levels exhibited a complex pattern after SCI, encompassing at least three clearly defined phases(first phase: no changes in the 6, 24 and 48 hours post-SCI groups; second phase: increased levels in the 72 hours post-SCI group; and a third phase: return to levels similar to control in the 7 days post-SCI group). Overall, these findings suggest global H4 acetylation levels exhibit distinct patterns of expression during the first week post-SCI, which may be associated with GFAP levels in the perilesional tissue. 9Effectiveness of traffic light system on Brazilian consumers perception of food healthfulness显示文摘Front-of-package(FOP)nutrition labelling schemes were developed to improve consumer’s comprehension about the food nutrients associated with non-communicable diseases(NCDs).Several FOPs have already been developed,and Brazil is in the process of evaluating a scheme to introduce in the products.The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of TLS,the scheme proposed by the food industry,on the product healthfulness perception.A study with 141 participants was carried out.A conjoint task was designed considering three categories and levels:types of dairy products(light yogurt,prato cheese,and chocolate flavoured milk),Traffic Light System(yes vs.no)and brand(well-known vs.unknown).The effect of TLS on perceived healthfulness was evaluated using a 9-point scales(1:not healthy;9:very healthy).Results showed that the inclusion of TLS did not influence the perceived healthfulness of the products by consumers,even among consumers with higher interest in healthy eating.These findings suggest that the proposal supported by the food industry does not seem to be the most appropriate,being recommended the development of further studies to compare the efficacy of TLS and other FOP schemes.Mayara Lima Marcela de Alcantara Amauri Rosenthal Rosires Deliza 2019Food Science and Human Wellness2019,8,4:0
10Vibration Analysis and Fatigue Assessment of Floors.Part I:Human Rhythmic Activities显示文摘Structural problems associated with excessive vibration of building floor systems when subjected to human rhythmic activities have been frequent.In this context,this research work aims to develop an analysis methodology to evaluate the human comfort and assess the fatigue performance of steel-concrete composite floors when subjected to human rhythmic activities(aerobics).The investigated structural model corresponds to a steel-concrete floor with dimensions of 10 m×10 m and a total area of 100 m^(2).The numerical model developed for the dynamic analysis of the floor adopted the usual mesh refinement techniques present in finite element method(FEM)simulations implemented in the ANSYS program.The investigated floor dynamic response was calculated through the consideration of people practicing rhythmic activities on the structure,in order to verify the occurrence of excessive vibration and to assess the human comfort.The fatigue assessment is based on a linear cumulative damage rule through the use of the Rainflow-counting algorithm and S-N curves from traditional design codes.The results indicated that,in several analysed situations,the investigated floor presents excessive vibration and user’s discomfort.On the other hand,the structure service life values were higher than those proposed by the design codes,ensuring that the members,connections and joints will not fail by fatigue cracking.Ana C.S.da Silva Elisângela A.R.Santos Leandro A.Deus Mayara M.Martins JoséG.S.da Silva 2021Journal of Civil Engineering and Architecture2021,15,10:0

12Six-Writings multimodal processing with pictophonetic coding to enhance Chinese language models显示文摘While large language models(LLMs)have made significant strides in natural language processing(NLP),they continue to face challenges in adequately addressing the intricacies of the Chinese language in certain scenarios.We propose a framework called Six-Writings multimodal processing(SWMP)to enable direct integration of Chinese NLP(CNLP)with morphological and semantic elements.The first part of SWMP,known as Six-Writings pictophonetic coding(SWPC),is introduced with a suitable level of granularity for radicals and components,enabling effective representation of Chinese characters and words.We conduct several experimental scenarios,including the following:(1)We establish an experimental database consisting of images and SWPC for Chinese characters,enabling dual-mode processing and matrix generation for CNLP.(2)We characterize various generative modes of Chinese words,such as thousands of Chinese idioms,used as question-and-answer(Q&A)prompt functions,facilitating analogies by SWPC.The experiments achieve 100%accuracy in answering all questions in the Chinese morphological data set(CA8-Mor-10177).(3)A fine-tuning mechanism is proposed to refine word embedding results using SWPC,resulting in an average relative error of≤25%for 39.37%of the questions in the Chinese wOrd Similarity data set(COS960).The results demonstrate that SWMP/SWPC methods effectively capture the distinctive features of Chinese and offer a promising mechanism to enhance CNLP with better efficiency.Li WEIGANG Mayara Chew MARINHO Denise Leyi LI Vitor Vasconcelos DE OLIVEIRA 2024Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering2024,25,1:0

14No independent associations between physical activity and clinical outcomes among hospitalized patients with moderate to severe COVID-19显示文摘Background:Regular physical activity(PA)has been postulated to improve,or at least maintain,immunity across the life span.However,the link between physical(in)activity and coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)remains to be established.This small-scale prospective cohort study is nested within a randomized controlled trial aimed to investigate the possible associations between PA levels and clinical outcomes among hospitalized patients with moderate to severe COVID-19.Methods:Hospitalized patients with COVID-19(mean age:54.9 years)were recruited from the Clinical Hospital of the School of Medicine of the University of Sao Paulo(a quaternary referral teaching hospital)and from Ibirapuera Field Hospital,both located in Sao Paulo,Brazil.PA level was assessed using the Baecke Questionnaire of Habitual Physical Activity.The primary outcome was hospital length of stay.The secondary outcomes were mortality,admission to the intensive care unit(ICU),and mechanical ventilation requirement.Results:The median hospital length of stay was 7.0§4.0 days,median§IQR;3.3%of patients died,13.8%were admitted to the ICU,and 8.6%required mechanical ventilation.Adjusted linear regression models showed that PA indices were not associated with hospital length of stay(work index:b=-0.57(95%confidence interval(95%CI):-1.80 to 0.65),p=0.355;sport index:b=0.43(95%CI:-0.94 to 1.80),p=0.536;leisure-time index:b=1.18(95%CI:-0.22 to 2.59),p=0.099;and total activity index:b=0.20(95%CI:-0.48 to 0.87),p=0.563).None of the PA indices were associated with mortality,admission to the ICU,or mechanical ventilation requirement(all p>0.050).Conclusion:Among hospitalized patients with COVID-19,PA did not independently associate with hospital length of stay or any other clinically relevant outcomes.These findings should be interpreted as meaning that,among already hospitalized patients with more severe forms of COVID-19,being active is a potential protective factor likely outweighed by a cluster of comorbidities(e.g.,type 2 diabetes,hypertension,weight excess)and older age,suggesting that the benefit of PA against the worsening of COVID-19 may vary across stages of the disease.Ana J.Pinto Karla F.Goessler Alan L.Fernandes Igor H.Murai Lucas P.Sales Bruna Z.Reis Mayara Diniz Santos Hamilton Roschel Rosa M.R.Pereira Bruno Gualano 2021Journal of Sport and Health Science2021,10,6:0
15Analgesic-like activity of perillyl acetate:In vivo and in silico studies显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the antinociceptive activity of perillyl acetate in mice and in silico simulations.Methods:The vehicle,perillyl acetate(100,150 and/or 200 mg/kg,i.p.),diazepam(2 mg/kg,i.p.)or morphine(6 mg/kg,i.p.)was administered to mice,respectively.Rotarod test,acetic acidinduced abdominal writhing,formalin-induced nociception,hot plate test,and tail-flick test were performed.Opioid receptorsinvolvement in perillyl acetate antinociceptive effect was also investigated.Results:Perillyl acetate did not affect the motor coordination of mice.However,it reduced the number of acetic acid-induced abdominal twitches and licking times in the formalin test.There was an increase of latency time in the tail-flick test of 30 and 60minutes.Pretreatment with naloxone reversed the antinociceptive effect of perillyl acetate(200 mg/kg).In silico analysis demonstrated that perillyl acetate could bind toμ-opioid receptors.Conclusions:Perillyl acetate has antinociceptive effect at the spinal level in animal nociception models,without affecting the locomotor integrity and possibly throughμ-opioid receptors.In silico studies have suggested that perillyl acetate can act as aμ-opioid receptor agonist.Renan Braga Humberto Andrade Ryldene Cruz Mayara Maia Carolina Lima Anderson Santos AndréMiranda Allana Duarte Marcus Scotti Reinaldo Almeida Damião Sousa 2022Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2022,12,4:0
16Surface Finish Evaluation of AISI P100 Steel after Grinding with MQL Technique with Different Flow Rates显示文摘Grinding operation is a finishing process often employed when high precision and narrow geometric tolerances are required.These requirements can be achieved only if cutting conditions are properly selected,especially the cooling-lubrication technique.In general,grinding is performed in presence of cutting fluid,however,due to the environmental impacts and costs of the conventional coolant delivery technique(flow rates from 4 L/min to 300 L/min),alternative cooling-lubrication techniques have been developed on restriction of the coolants use.Among the several techniques,MQL(minimum quantity of lubricant)technique has received special attention from machining users because of its advantages in terms of surface quality of workpiece and drastic reduction in use of coolant.In this context,this paper evaluated the performance of the MQL technique as compared to the flood coolant in peripheral surface grinding of AISI P100(VP100)steel with conventional aluminum oxide grinding wheel in relation to the surface roughness(Ra and Rz).Input parameters tested were equivalent chip thickness(0.09μm,0.18μm and 0.27μm)and flow rate of the cutting fluid(60 mL/h,150 mL/h and 240 mL/h)of the MQL system.Results showed that the grinding with MQL technique provided lower surface roughness values compared to conventional flood cooling,especially when machining under the intermediary cutting conditions.Also,with exception of heq of 0.09 m,the MQL technique resulted in lower values of Rz parameter as compared to the conventional coolant technique,regardless of the flow rate tested.Bruno Souza Abrão Mayara Fernanda Pereira Cleudes Guimarães Lurian Souza Vieira da Silva Rodrigo deSouza Ruzzi Rosemar Batista da Silva Eduardo Carlos Bianchi Alisson Rocha Machado 2020Journal of Mechanics Engineering and Automation2020,10,2:0
17Retrieving dental instruments through endoscopy: A literature review显示文摘Clinical accidents involving dental instruments and materials inside the oral cavity are reported in the medical literature. Specifically, ingestion and aspiration of foreign bodies have greater prevalence in the routine of medicine and dentistry. Despite being less harmful than aspirations, the accidental ingestion of dental instruments does not always culminate in favorable prognoses. Mostly, complex conditions require medical intervention through endoscopy or surgical approaches. The present research aims to review the literature pointing out the specialties of dentistry most involved with accidental ingestion of dental instruments, highlighting the important role of endoscopy for accurately locating and retrieving foreign bodies. Prosthodontics, operative dentistry, orthodontics, and maxillofacial surgery arose as the specialties in which these accidents are more prevalent. 18Correlation of Ground Penetrating Radar Data with Geotechnical Prospect Profiles: Reduto Case Study, Belém-PA, Brazil显示文摘The study presented in this manuscript aimed to relate the sedimentary strata imaged by the ground penetrating radar(GPR)method through numerical modeling with the mapping of sedimentary strata acquired through geotechnical surveys.The study aimed to expose how obtaining subsoil information through noninvasive/destructive electromagnetic waves is beneficial,as they are reliable and less costly than drilling holes beyond what is necessary to have a subsurface mapping.In this sense,physical-geological modeling was carried out.The information on the type of sediments,acquired through simple recognition surveys carried out in the city of Belém-PA,helped to create a model of a sedimentary package with its respective intrinsic physical properties.The result shows that the GPR recovered with good vertical and horizontal resolution at the beginning and end of the layers of the sedimentary package studied,proving to be very effective for locating geotechnical sounding points and safely reducing costs.Danusa Mayara de Souza Lyvio Luiz Clávio de Alcântara Júnior 2023Advances in Geological and Geotechnical Engineering Research2023,5,2:0

20Tribological Approach and Surface Quality Analysis of Stainless Steel for Cutlery Applications after Surface Grinding显示文摘In precision machining processes such as grinding,for example,analysis of machined surface is important one of most parameters to evaluate process performance.Equally important is to perform tribological analysis to understand chip formation and abrasive wheel wear,thus enabling manufacturing of components free of thermal damages.In grinding,due to high hardness of abrasive grains that remove material from workpiece in chip form and very low values of radial depth of cut,combination of low roughness values and tight dimensional tolerances is attained.Accordingly,the parameters involved in this process are determinant in surface quality that is primarily evaluated in terms of surface roughness and workpiece functionality.In this work,surface roughness(Rt parameter)and scanning electron microscope(SEM)images of ground surfaces of the AISI 420 martensitic stainless steel samples were evaluated.Tests were carried out in surface grinding with a white aluminum oxide wheel and an environmentally-friendly semisynthetic water-soluble coolant.Two values of radial depth of cut(10μm and 25μm)were tested.The results showed that the highest roughness values,deeper grooves on the machined surfaces as well as poorer surface quality were obtained after grinding under the severest cutting conditions.Mayara Fernanda Pereira Bruno Souza Abrão Rhander Viana Rosemar Batista da Silva 2020材料科学与工程(中英文B版)2020,10,4:0
