Relationship between Th17 immune response and cancer显示文摘Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide and epidemiological projections predict growing cancer mortality rates in the next decades.Cancer has a close relationship with the immune system and, although Th17 cells are known to play roles in the immune response against microorganisms and in autoimmunity, studies have emphasized their roles in cancer pathogenesis. The Th17 immune response profile is involved in several types of cancer including urogenital, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and skin cancers. This type of immune response exerts pro and antitumor functions through several mechanisms, depending on the context of each tumor, including the protumor angiogenesis and exhaustion of T cells and the antitumor recruitment of T cells and neutrophils to the tumor microenvironment.Among other factors, the paradoxical behavior of Th17 cells in this setting has been attributed to its plasticity potential, which makes possible their conversion into other types of T cells such as Th17/Treg and Th17/Th1 cells.Interleukin(IL)-17 stands out among Th17-related cytokines since it modulates pathways and interacts with other cell profiles in the tumor microenvironment, which allow Th17 cells to prevail in tumors. Moreover, the IL-17 is able to mediate pro and antitumor processes that influence the development and progression of various cancers, being associated with variable clinical outcomes. The understanding of the relationship between the Th17 immune response and cancer as well as the singularities of carcinogenic processes in each type of tumor is crucial for the identification of new therapeutic targets.Hanna Santos Marques Breno Bittencourt de Brito Filipe Antônio França da Silva Maria Luísa Cordeiro Santos Júlio César Braga de Souza Thiago Macêdo Lopes Correia Luana Weber Lopes Nayara Silva de Macêdo Neres Rafael Santos Dantas Miranda Dórea Anna Carolina Saúde Dantas Lorena Lôbo Brito Morbeck Iasmin Souza Lima Amanda Alves de Almeida Maiara Raulina de Jesus Dias Fabrício Freire de Melo 2021World Journal of Clinical Oncology2021,12,10:5
Pancreatitis after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography:A narrative review显示文摘Acute post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography pancreatitis(PEP)is a feared and potentially fatal complication that can be as high as up to 30%in high-risk patients.Pre-examination measures, during the examination and after the examination are the key to technical and clinical success with a decrease in adverse events.Several studies have debated on the subject, however, numerous topics remain controversial, such as the effectiveness of prophylactic medications and the amylase dosage time. This review was designed to provide an update on the current scientific evidence regarding PEP available in the literature.Igor Braga Ribeiro Epifanio Silvino do Monte Junior Antonio Afonso Miranda Neto Igor Mendonça Proença Diogo Turiani Hourneaux de Moura Mauricio Kazuyoshi Minata Edson Ide Marcos Eduardo Lera dos Santos Gustavo de Oliveira Luz Sergio Eiji Matuguma Spencer Cheng Renato Baracat Eduardo Guimarães Hourneaux de Moura 2021World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,20:5
Role of pancreatography in the endoscopic management of encapsulated pancreatic collections-review and new proposed classification显示文摘Pancreatic fluids collections are local complications related to acute or chronic pancreatitis and may require intervention when symptomatic and/or complicated.Within the last decade, endoscopic management of these collections via endoscopic ultrasound-guided transmural drainage has become the gold standard treatment for encapsulated pancreatic collections with high clinical success and lower morbidity compared to traditional surgery and percutaneous drainage.Proper understanding of anatomic landmarks, including assessment of the main pancreatic duct and any associated lesions–such as disruptions and strictures-are key to achieving clinical success, reducing the need for reintervention or recurrence, especially in cases with suspected disconnected pancreatic duct syndrome.Additionally, proper review of imaging and anatomic landmarks, including collection location, are pivotal to determine type and size of pancreatic stenting as well as approach using long-term transmural indwelling plastic stents.Pancreatography to adequately assess the main pancreatic duct may be performed by two methods:Either non-invasively using magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography or endoscopically via retrograde cholangiopancreatography.Despite the critical need to understand anatomy via pancrea tography and assess the main pancreatic duct,a standardized approach or uniform assessment strategy has not been described in the literature. Therefore, the aim of this review was to clarify the role of pancreatography in the endoscopic management of encapsulated pancreatic collections and to propose a new classification system to aid in proper assessment and endoscopic treatment.Igor Mendonca Proença Marcos Eduardo Lera dos Santos Diogo Turiani Hourneaux de Moura Igor Braga Ribeiro Sergio Eiji Matuguma Spencer Cheng Thomas R McCarty Epifanio Silvino do Monte Junior Paulo Sakai Eduardo Guimaraes Hourneaux de Moura 2020World Journal of Gastroenterology2020,26,45:3

Species richness and similarity of the flora on four lajedos in Boa Nova, Bahia, Brazil显示文摘The municipality of Boa Nova,in northeastern Brazil,is in an ecotone zone between the Caatinga and Atlantic Forest phytogeographic domains. The transition phytophysiognomy is seasonal forest and known locally as mata de cipó.In these phytophysiognomies there are lajedos, which are rock outcrops colonized by vegetation welladapted to extreme microclimatic variation and vegetation diversity is affected by the vegetation types of the surrounding areas.Due to the singularity of these environments and the relevance of floristic studies for conservation, this work aimed to identify the species richness and compare the similarity of the flora on four rock outcrops in Boa Nova. The flora was surveyed during exploratory walks along lajedos between 2016 and 2019.In total,162 species were identified on the Boa Nova outcrops. The flora has a composition and structure similar to semiarid outcrops,as well as endemic species that also occur in surrounding phytophysiomies.Despite the proximity,a similarity index revealed there is floristic dissimilarity between the areas.Nine new occurrences were recorded for the region, five species are threatened with extinction(Aosa gilgiana,Ficus cyclophylla,Hippeastrum stigmovittatum,Pleroma caatingae and Trixis pruskii),and 43 species are common in anthropogenic areas. This reinforces the importance of actions to conserve these areas.Morgana Maria DO CARMO BARBOSA Anderson FERREIRA PINTO MACHADO Andrea Karla ALMEIDA DOS SANTOS Raymundo JoséDE Sá-NETO Michele MARTINS CORRêA 2023Journal of Mountain Science2023,20,6:0
Non-Polar Chemical Constituents of Atemoya and Evaluation of the Cytotoxic and Antimicrobial Activity显示文摘This study aimed to identify the chemical composition of essential oil from fruits(EOAF)and the hexanic crude extract from aerial parts(At-Hex)of atemoya(Annona cherimola x Annona squamosa),a hybrid belonging to the Annonaceae family.Cytotoxic and antimicrobial activity was also evaluated.OEAF was obtained by hydrodistillation using a Clevenger apparatus, and their composition was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)analyses.Cytotoxicity was tested against human tumor cell lines HCT-116(colon carcinoma),SF-295(glioblastoma),OVCAR-8(ovarian carcinoma)and HL60(leukemia)using 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide(MTT)assay, while antimicrobial activity was conducted by bioauthography method against eleven microorganisms strains.Twenty-four compounds were identified in the EOAF and twenty-nine in At-Hex.The monoterpenes linalool(25.70%),α-pinene(10.38%),β-pinene(9.12%),transocimene(7.43%),and the sesquiterpene bicyclogermacrene(12.58%)were the major constituents of EOAF,whereas the sesquiterpene spathulenol(13.91%)was the main compound of At-Hex.At-Hex showed a high cytotoxicity against SF-295(glioblastoma).These findings show an important chemotaxonomic contribution for the Annonaceae family, mainly for the Annona genus.Atemoya proved to be a promising source of substances with potential cytotoxic activity.Suzana Vieira Rabêlo Fernanda Granja da Silva Oliveira Michele Miriam Calixto de Lira Livia Macedo Dutra Adilson Sartoratto Marta Cristina Teixeira Duarte Maria Claudia dos Santos Luciano Maria Francilene Souza Silva Cláudia doÓPessoa Manoel Odorico de Moraes Filho Emmanoel Vilaça Costa Jackson Roberto Guedes da Silva Almeida 2021Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,3:0
