| 1 | Combustion performance studies of aluminum and boron based composite solid propellants in sub-atmospheric pressure regimes显示文摘The aim of present study is to investigate the burning rate, ignition delay, and flame characteristics of ammonium perchlorate(AP)-hydroxyl terminated poly-butadiene(HTPB)[AP/HTPB]based composite propellants(CSP's)in sub-atmospheric pressure regimes(13 kPae100 kPa).Several fuels and catalyzed were used to evaluate their effects on the combustion characteristics of AP based propellants in sub-atmospheric pressure regimes. In fuels, aluminum(Al)and boron(B)were selected as metallic and non-metallic fuel respectively. While in catalyst, butyl ferrocene(B.F.)and ferric oxide(F.O.)were selected as liquid and solid catalyst respectively.Apart from these, other ingredients that were used are di-octyl adipate(DOA),toluene di-isocyanate(TDI),and glycerol. The article throws some light on the burning rate and ignition delay properties for these new classes of prepared propellant samples. At subatmospheric pressures, all propellants are susceptible to irregular burning with the ejection of soot's,fumes, and unburned particles.F.O.based catalyzed propellants can sustain its combustion up to the lowest pressure. | Pratim Kumar Mayank Varshney Aniket Manash | 2019 | Propulsion and Power Research2019,8,4: | 3 |
| 2 | Surface charge induced tuning of electrical properties of CVD assisted graphene and functionalized graphene sheets显示文摘We demonstrate a new approach to tune the electrical properties of graphene and functionalized graphene. Graphene was synthesized using thermal chemical vapour deposition(TCVD) method on copper foil using precursor gas acetylene and co-catalyst H2 gas. TCVD assisted graphene was successfully transferred onto a silicon wafer. Transferred graphene sheet was then functionalized to prepare graphene oxide(GO) and reduced graphene oxide(rGO). Different surface charge carbon nanoparticles, e.g. carbon nanoparticle with net positive charge and carbon nanoparticle with net negative charge were then immobilized on transferred graphene and functionalized graphene sheets. The functionalized graphene and charge mobilized functionalized graphene were characterized by Uv–vis spectroscopy,Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. After immobilization of carbon nanomaterials, the ac electrical conductivity was found to increase due to enhancement of the surface charge, electron density, and mobility. It was observed that negative surface charge immobilized graphene and functionalized graphene show higher conductivity. Thus, the electrical property of graphene and functionalized graphene can be tuned by surface modification with different surface charge carbon nanomaterials. | Manash Jyoti Deka Devasish Chowdhury | 2019 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,1: | 3 |

| 4 | COVID-19 and gut immunomodulation显示文摘The disease coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a severe respiratory illness that has emerged as a devastating health problem worldwide. The disease outcome is heterogeneous, and severity is likely dependent on the immunity of infected individuals and comorbidities.Although symptoms of the disease are primarily associated with respiratory problems, additional infection or failure of other vital organs are being reported.Emerging reports suggest a quite common co-existence of gastrointestinal(GI)tract symptoms in addition to respiratory symptoms in many COVID-19 patients, and some patients show just the GI symptoms. The possible cause of the GI symptoms could be due to direct infection of the epithelial cells of the gut, which is supported by the fact that(1)The intestinal epithelium expresses a high level of angiotensin-converting enzyme-2 and transmembrane protease serine 2 protein that are required for the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)entry into the cells;(2)About half of the severe COVID-19 patients show viral RNA in their feces and various parts of the GI tract;and(3)SARS-CoV-2 can directly infect gut epithelial cells in vitro(gut epithelial cells and organoids)and in vivo(rhesus monkey). The GI tract seems to be a site of active innate and adaptive immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 as clinically, stool samples of COVID-19 patients possess proinflammatory cytokines(interleukin 8),calprotectin(neutrophils activity),and immunoglobulin A antibodies. In addition to direct immune activation by the virus, impairment of GI epithelium integrity can evoke immune response under the influence of systemic cytokines, hypoxia, and changes in gut microbiota(dysbiosis)due to infection of the respiratory system, which is confirmed by the observation that not all of the GI symptomatic patients are viral RNA positive. This review comprehensively summarizes the possible GI immunomodulation by SARS-CoV-2 that could lead to GI symptoms, their association with disease severity, and potential therapeutic interventions. | Koushik Roy Sidra Agarwal Rajib Banerjee Manash K Paul Prabhat K Purbey | 2021 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,46: | 2 |
| 5 | Viral Genotypes and Associated Risk Factors of Hepatocellular Carcinoma in India显示文摘Objective This study aims to investigate the etiological relationship among hepatitis B virus(HBV),hepatitis C virus(HCV),and alcohol as risk factors in a cohort of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) patients from India. The clinical and biochemical profiles and tumor characteristics in the HCC cases were also evaluated. Methods A total of 357 consecutive cases of HCC fulfilling the diagnostic criteria from the Barcelona-2000 EASL conference were included in the study. The blood samples were evaluated for serological evidence of HBV and HCV infection, viral load, and genotypes using serological tests, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction, and restriction fragment length polymorphism. Results The male/female ratio for the HCC cases was 5.87:1.Majority of the HCC patients(33.9% ) were 50 to 59 years of age, with a mean age of 4±13.23 years.More than half the cases(60.8% ) had underlying cirrhosis at presentation.Among the HCC patients,68.9% were HBV related,21.3% were HCV related,18.8% were alcoholic, and 18.2% were of cryptogenic origin. The presence of any marker positive for HBV increased the risk for developing HCC by almost 27 times[OR:27.33;(12.87-60.0)].An increased risk of 10.6 times was observed for HCC development for cases positive for any HCV marker[OR:10.55;(3.13-42.73)].Heavy alcohol consumption along with HCV RNA positivity in cirrhotic patients was found to be a risk for developing HCC by 3 folds[OR:3.17;(0.37-70.71)]. Conclusions Patients of chronic HBV infection followed by chronic HCV infection were at higher risk of developing HCC in India. Chronic alcohol consumption was found to be a risk factor in cirrhotic cases only when it was associated with HCV RNA positivity. Most of the patients had a large tumor size(>5 cm) with multiple liver nodules, indicating an advanced stage of the disease thus making curative therapies difficult. | Manash Pratim Sarma Mohammad Asim Subhash Medhi Thayumanavan Bharathi Richa Diwan Premashis Kar | 2012 | Clinical oncology and cancer resexreh2012,9,3: | 2 |
