A review on synthesis of graphene,h-BN and MoS2 for energy storage applications:Recent progress and perspectives显示文摘The significance of graphene and its two-dimensional(2D)analogous inorganic layered materials especially as hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)and molybdenum disulphide(MoS2)for“clean energy”applications became apparent over the last few years due to their extraordinary properties. In this review article we study the current progress and selected challenges in the syntheses of graphene,h-BN and MoS2 including energy storage applications as supercapacitors and batteries.Various substrates/catalysts(metals/insulator/semiconducting)have been used to obtain graphene,h-BN and MoS2 using different kinds of precursors. The most widespread methods for synthesis of graphene,h-BN and MoS2 layers are chemical vapor deposition(CVD),plasma-enhanced CVD,hydro/solvothermal methods, liquid phase exfoliation, physical methods etc.Current research has shown that graphene,h-BN and MoS2 layered materials modified with metal oxide can have an insightful influence on the performance of energy storage devices as supercapacitors and batteries. This review article also contains the discussion on the opportunities and perspectives of these materials(graphene,h-BN and MoS2)in the energy storage fields. We expect that this witen review article including recent research on energy storage will help in generating new insights for further development and practical applications of graphene,h-BN and MoS2 layers based materials.Rajesh Kumar Sumanta Sahoo Ednan Joanni Rajesh Kumar Singh Ram Manohar Yadav Rajiv Kumar Verma Dinesh Pratap Singh Wai Kian Tan Angel Perez del Pino Stanislav A.Moshkalev Atsunori Matsuda 2019Nano Research2019,12,11:12
Role of bisphosphonates in the management of acute Charcot foot显示文摘Diabetes mellitus is the most common cause of Charcot neuropathy affecting foot and ankle. Acute Charcot foot(CF) presents with a red and swollen foot in co-ntrast to the painless deformed one of chronic CF. En-hanced osteoclastogenesis plays a central role in the pathogenesis of acute CF. Many studies have shown elevated levels of bone turnover markers in patients with acute CF confirming it. These findings have led cl-inicians to use anti-resorptive agents [bisphosphonates(BP), calcitonin, and denosumab] along with immobi-lization and offloading in acute CF patients. The ma-ximum evidence among all anti-resorptive agents is available for BPs, although its quality is low. Pamidronate has been shown to reduce the markers of activity of CF like raised skin temperature, pain, edema, and bone turnover markers in the majority of studies. Intravenous BPs are known to cause acute phase reactions leading to flu-like illness following their first infusion, which can be ameliorated by oral acetaminophen. Alendronate is the only oral BP used in these patients. It needs to be taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water to avoid esophagitis. The side-effects and contraindications to BPs should be kept in mind while treating acute CF patients with them.Harsh Durgia Jayaprakash Sahoo Sadishkumar Kam-alanathan Rajan Palui Kalyani Sridharan Henith Raj 2018World Journal of Diabetes2018,9,7:9
SGLT-2 inhibitors in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: A systematic review显示文摘BACKGROUND Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a common comorbidity with type 2 diabetes. The existing therapeutic options for NAFLD are not adequate.Hypocaloric diet and exercise is the cornerstone of therapy in NAFLD.Pioglitazone is the only drug recommended in diabetes patients with biopsy proven non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. The frequent coexistence of NAFLD and type 2 diabetes with their combined adverse health consequences and inadequate therapeutic options makes it necessary to search for newer alternatives.AIM To assess the effect of sodium glucose cotransporter-2(SGLT-2)inhibitors on liver enzymes in type 2 diabetes patients with NAFLD.METHODS We searched PubMed/MEDLINE,Cochrane library,Google scholar, and Clinicaltrials.gov for the relevant articles to be included in this systematic review.Human studies done in type 2 diabetes patients with NAFLD treated with SGLT-2 inhibitors for at least 12 wk were included.Data from eight studies(four randomised controlled trials and four observational studies)were extracted and a narrative synthesis was done.A total of 214 patients were treated with SGLT-2 inhibitors in these studies(94 in randomised controlled trials and 120 in observational studies).RESULTS The primary outcome measure was change in serum alanine aminotransferase level.Out of eight studies, seven studies showed a significant decrease in serum alanine aminotransferase level. Most of the studies revealed reduction in serum level of other liver enzymes like aspartate aminotransferase and gamma glutamyl transferase.Five studies that reported a change in hepatic fat exhibited a significant reduction in hepatic fat content in those treated with SGLT-2 inhibitors.Likewise, among the three studies that evaluated a change in indices of hepatic fibrosis, two studies revealed a significant improvement in liver fibrosis. Moreover, there was an improvement in obesity, insulin resistance, glycaemia, and lipid parameters in those subjects taking SGLT-2 inhibitors. The studies disclosed that about 17%(30/176)of the subjects taking SGLT-2 inhibitors developed adverse events and more than 40%(10/23)of them had genitourinary tract infections.CONCLUSION Based on low to moderate quality of evidence,SGLT-2 inhibitors improve the serum level of liver enzymes, decrease liver fat,and fibrosis with additional beneficial effects on various metabolic parameters in type 2 diabetes patients with NAFLD.Henith Raj Harsh Durgia Rajan Palui Sadishkumar Kamalanathan Sandhiya Selvarajan Sitanshu Sekhar Kar Jayaprakash Sahoo 2019World Journal of Diabetes2019,10,2:9
Synthesis and Characterization of Bio-based Epoxy Blends from Renewable Resource Based Epoxidized Soybean Oil as Reactive Diluent显示文摘A novel bioresin, epoxidized soybean oil was synthesized by in situ method and was characterized employing FTIR and NMR. The bioresin was blended with epoxy(DGEBA) at different ratios as reactive diluents for improved processibility and toughened nature. The composition with 20 wt% bioresin exhibited improved impact strength to the tune of 60% as compared to virgin epoxy. Fracture toughness parameters critical stress intensity factor(KIC) and critical strain energy release rate(GIC) were evaluated using single edge notch bending test and demonstrated superior enhancement in toughness. Dynamic mechanical, thermal, thermo mechanical and fracture morphological analyses have been studied for bio-based epoxy blends. Curing kinetics has been evaluated through DSC analysis to investigate the effect of bioresin on cross-linking reaction of neat epoxy with triethylenetetramine as curing agent.Sushanta K Sahoo Smita Mohanty Sanjay K Nayak 2015Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2015,33,1:8

Optimization of flotation variables for the recovery of hematite particles from BHQ ore显示文摘The technology for beneficiation of banded iron ores containing low iron value is a challenging task due to increasing demand of quality iron ore in India. A flotation process has been developed to treat one such ore, namely banded hematite quartzite (BHQ) containing 41.8wt% Fe and 41.5wt% SiO2,by using oleic acid, methyl isobutyl carbinol (MIBC), and sodium silicate as the collector, frother, and dispersant, respectively. The relative effects of these variables have been evaluated in half-normal plots and Pareto charts using central composite rotatable design. A quadratic response model has been developed for both Fe grade and recovery and optimized within the experimental range. The optimum reagent dosages are found to be as follows: collector concentration of 243.58 g/t, dispersant concentration of 195.67 g/t, pH 8.69, and conditioning time of 4.8 min to achieve the maximum Fe grade of 64.25% with 67.33% recovery. The predictions of the model with regard to iron grade and recovery are in good agreement with the experimental results.Swagat S. Rath Hrushikesh Sahoo B. 8A Novel Multi-agent Formation Control Law With Collision Avoidance显示文摘In this paper a stable formation control law that simultaneously ensures collision avoidance has been proposed. It is assumed that the communication graph is undirected and connected. The proposed formation control law is a combination of the consensus term and the collision avoidance term(CAT).The first order consensus term is derived for the proposed model, while ensuring the Lyapunov stability. The consensus term creates and maintains the desired formation shape, while the CAT avoids the collision.During the collision avoidance, the potential function based CAT makes the agents repel from each other. This unrestricted repelling magnitude cannot ensure the graph connectivity at the time of collision avoidance.Hence we have proposed a formation control law, which ensures this connectivity even during the collision avoidance. This is achieved by the proposed novel adaptive potential function. The potential function adapts itself, with the online tuning of the critical variable associated with it.The tuning has been done based on the lower bound of the critical variable, which is derived from the proposed connectivity property. The efficacy of the proposed scheme has been validated using simulations done based on formations of six and thirty-two agents respectively.Arindam Mondal Laxmidhar Behera Soumya Ranjan Sahoo Anupam Shukla 2017IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2017,4,3:7
Effect of lanthanum, neodymium on piezoelectric, dielectric and ferroelectric properties of PZT显示文摘The effect of La^(3+)and Nd^(3+)on piezoelectric, dielectric and ferroelectric properties of PZT(Pb(Zr_(0.53)Ti_(0.47))O_(3))was studied. The powders were prepared by“wet-chemical”route followed by calcination at 800℃for 4 h.XRD analysis of the calcined powders confirms the tetragonal phase in the undoped PZT,which gradually decreases with the dopant concentration and the appearance of rhombohedral phase simultaneously.SEM study of sintered pellets reveals the decrease in grain size with the increase in dopant concentration beyond 0.02 mol Nd^(3+)and 0.03 mol La^(3+)respectively.The piezoelectric constant(d_(33))and dielectric properties were maximum for 0.02 mol Nd^(3+)and 0.03 mol La^(3+)respectively.The remnant polarization of La^(3+)-doped sample was higher than Nd^(3+)-doped sample, and the sample with combined dopants shows intermediate remnant polarization(P_(r)).Based on the above study,it is concluded that La^(3+)is more effective than Nd^(3+),including in a mixture of La^(3+)and Nd^(3+)dopants.Benudhar SAHOO Prasanta Kumar PANDA 2013Journal of Advanced Ceramics2013,2,1:6
Frequency and temperature dependent electrical characteristics of CaTiO_(3) nano-ceramic prepared by high-energy ball milling显示文摘Nanocrystalline calcium titanate(CT)ceramic has been synthesized by a combination of solid-state reaction and high-energy ball milling. This nano-ceramic is characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),dielectric study and impedance spectroscopy. The XRD pattern shows single phase ceramic of orthorhombic symmetry. The frequency-dependent dielectric study shows that the dielectric constant is maximized at low frequencies and decreases with an increase in frequency.Impedance spectroscopy analyses reveal a non-Debye type relaxation phenomenon.A significant shift in impedance loss peaks toward the higher-frequency side indicates conduction in the material favoring the long-range motion of mobile charge carriers. The grain conduction effect is observed from the complex impedance spectrum by the appearance of one semicircular arc in Nyquist plot.It is also observed that the resistance decreases with an increase in temperature showing a negative temperature coefficient of resistance(NTCR).Various thermistor parameters have been calculated by fitting with Steinhart-Hart equation. The modulus plots represent the presence of temperature-dependent electrical relaxation phenomenon with the material. The frequency-dependent AC conductivity at different temperatures indicates that the conduction process is thermally activated. The activation energy has been calculated from an Arrhenius plot of DC conductivity and relaxation frequency.Subhanarayan SAHOO Umasankar DASH S.K.S.PARASHAR S.M.ALI 2013Journal of Advanced Ceramics2013,2,3:6
Cinnamon extract suppresses experimental colitis through modulation of antigen-presenting cells显示文摘AIM:To investigate the anti-inflammatory effects of cinnamon extract and elucidate its mechanisms for targeting the function of antigen presenting cells.METHODS:Cinnamon extract was used to treat murine macrophage cell line(Raw 264.7),mouse primary antigen-presenting cells(APCs,MHCII+) and CD11c+dendritic cells to analyze the effects of cinnamon extract on APC function. The mechanisms of action of cinnamon extract on APCs were investigated by analyzing cytokine production, and expression of MHC antigens and co-stimulatory molecules by quantitative real-time PCR and flow cytometry. In addition, the effect of cinnamon extract on antigen presentation capacity and APC-dependent T-cell differentiation were analyzed by [H3]-thymidine incorporation and cytokine analysis, respectively. To confirm the anti-inflammatory effects of cinnamon extract in vivo, cinnamon or PBS was orally administered to mice for 20 d followed by induction of experimental colitis with 2,4,6 trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid. The protective effects of cinnamon extract against experimental colitis were measured by checking clinical symptoms, histological analysis and cytokine expression prof iles in inflamed tissue.RESULTS:Treatment with cinnamon extract inhibited maturation of MHCII+ APCs or CD11c+ dendritic cells(DCs) by suppressing expression of co-stimulatory molecules(B7.1,B7.2,ICOS-L),MHCII and cyclooxygenase(COX)-2.Cinnamon extract induced regulatory DCs(rDCs) that produce low levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines [interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,IL-12,interferon(IFN)-γ and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α] while expressing high levels of immunoregulatory cytokines(IL-10 and transforming growth factor-β).In addition,rDCs generated by cinnamon extract inhibited APC-dependent T-cell proliferation, and converted CD4+ T cells into IL-10high CD4+ T cells.Furthermore, oral administration of cinnamon extract inhibited development and progression of intestinal colitis by inhibiting expression of COX-2 and pro-inflammatory cytokines(IL-1β,IFN-γ and TNF-α),while enhancing IL-10 levels.CONCLUSION:Our study suggests the potential of cinnamon extract as an anti-inflammatory agent by targeting the generation of regulatory APCs and IL-10+ regulatory T cells.Ho-Keun Kwon Ji-Sun Hwang Choong-Gu Lee Jae-Seon So Anupama Sahoo Chang-Rok Im Won Kyung Jeon Byoung Seob Ko Sung Haeng Lee Zee Yong Park Sin-Hyeog Im 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,8:6
A Novel Cascaded PID Controller for Automatic Generation Control Analysis With Renewable Sources显示文摘Present day power scenarios demand a high quality uninterrupted power supply and needs environmental issues to be addressed. Both concerns can be dealt with by the introduction of the renewable sources to the existing power system. Thus, automatic generation control(AGC) with diverse renewable sources and a modified-cascaded controller are presented in the paper. Also, a new hybrid scheme of the improved teaching learning based optimization-differential evolution(hITLBO-DE) algorithm is applied for providing optimization of controller parameters. A study of the system with a technique such as TLBO applied to a proportional integral derivative(PID), integral double derivative(IDD) and PIDD is compared to hITLBO-DE tuned cascaded controller with dynamic load change. The suggested methodology has been extensively applied to a 2-area system with a diverse source power system with various operation time non-linearities such as dead-band of, generation rate constraint and reheat thermal units. The multi-area system with reheat thermal plants, hydel plants and a unit of a wind-diesel combination is tested with the cascaded controller scheme with a different controller setting for each area. The variation of the load is taken within 1% to 5% of the connected load and robustness analysis is shown by modifying essential factors simultaneously by± 30%. Finally, the proposed scheme of controller and optimization technique is also tested with a 5-equal area thermal system with non-linearities. The simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed controller and algorithm under a dynamically changing load.Aurobindo Behera Tapas Kumar Panigrahi PrakashK·Ray Arun Kumar Sahoo 2019IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2019,6,6:5
Islet cell dysfunction in patients with chronic pancreatitis显示文摘Chronic pancreatitis(CP)is characterized by progressive inflammation and fibrosis of the pancreas that eventually leads to pancreatic exocrine and endocrine insufficiency.Diabetes in the background of CP is very difficult to manage due to high glycemic variability and concomitant malabsorption.Progressive beta cell loss leading to insulin deficiency is the cardinal mechanism underlying diabetes development in CP.Alpha cell dysfunction leading to deranged glucagon secretion has been described in different studies using a variety of stimuli in CP.However, the emerging evidence is varied probably because of dependence on the study procedure, the study population as well as on the stage of the disease. The mechanism behind islet cell dysfunction in CP is multifactorial. The intra-islet alpha and beta cell regulation of each other is often lost. Moreover, secretion of the incretin hormones such as glucagon like peptide-1 and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide is dysregulated. This significantly contributes to islet cell disturbances.Persistent and progressive inflammation with changes in the function of other cells such as islet delta cells and pancreatic polypeptide cells are also implicated in CP.In addition, the different surgical procedures performed in patients with CP and antihyperglycemic drugs used to treat diabetes associated with CP also affect islet cell function.Hence, different factors such as chronic inflammation, dysregulated incretin axis, surgical interventions and anti-diabetic drugs all affect islet cell function in patients with CP.Newer therapies targeting alpha cell function and beta cell regeneration would be useful in the management of pancreatic diabetes in the near future.Ayan Roy Jayaprakash Sahoo Sadishkumar Kamalanathan Dukhabandhu Naik Pazhanivel Mohan Biju Pottakkat 2020World Journal of Diabetes2020,11,7:5
Inversion of radiative transfer model for retrieval of wheat biophysical parameters from broadband reflectance measurements显示文摘This study describes the retrieval of wheat biophysical variables of leaf chlorophyll(Cab),leaf area index(LAI),canopy chlorophyll(CCC),and leaf wetness(Cw)from broadband reflectance data corresponding to IRS LISS-3(Linear Imaging Self Scanner)sensor by inversion of PROSAIL5B canopy radiative transfer model.Reflectance data of wheat crop, grown under different treatments, were measured by hand-held spectroradiometer and later integrated to LISS-3 reflectance using its band-wise relative spectral response function.Three inversion techniques were used and their performance was compared using different statistical parameters and target diagram. The inversion techniques tried were:a look up table with best solution(LUT-I),a look up table with mean of best 10%solutions(LUT-II)and an artificial neural network(ANN).All the techniques could estimate the biophysical variables by capturing variability in their observed values, though accuracy of estimation varied among the three techniques.Target diagram clearly depicted the superiority of LUT-II over the other two approaches indicating that a mean of best 10%solutions is a better strategy while ANN was worst performer showing highest bias for all the parameters. In all the three inversion techniques, the general order of retrieval accuracy was LAI>Cab>CCC>Cw.The range of Cw was very narrow and none of the techniques could estimate variations in it.In most of the cases, the parameters were underestimated by model inversion. The best identified LUT-II technique was then applied to retrieve wheat LAI from IRS LISS-3 satellite image of 5-Feb-2012 in Sheopur district. The comparison with ground observations showed that the RMSE of LAI retrieval was about 0.56,similar to that observed in ground experimentation. The findings of this study may help in refining the protocol for generating operational crop biophysical products from IRS LISS-3 or similar sensors.Vinay Kumar Sehgal Debasish Chakraborty Rabi Narayan Sahoo 2016Information Processing in Agriculture2016,3,2:5

基尼系数是一个完备的不平等程度的度量指标吗?显示文摘Gini coefficient is not free from biasness as a measuring index of inequality. When income levels are classified into various groups, there is every possibility of problem of overlapping. In such case, use of Gini coefficient may result in inappropriateness of the objective of the inequality study. If not meticulously implemented,it may yield results far from reality also. The residual term may create biased result.Hence, utmost caution should be taken while using it,particularly while undertaking a decomposition study to determine the exact coefficients in between groups and within groups.Kashinath Sahoo 潘霁 2006统计研究2006,23,5:4
Genetic Relationship and Structure Analysis of Root Growth Angle for Improvement of Drought Avoidance in Early and Mid-Early Maturing Rice Genotypes显示文摘Deeper rooting 1(Dro1)and Deeper rooting 2(Dro2)are the QTLs that contribute considerably to root growth angle assisting in deeper rooting of rice plant. In the present study,a set of 348 genotypes were shortlisted from rice germplasm based on root angle study.Screening results of the germplasm lines under drought stress identified 25 drought tolerant donor lines based on leaf rolling, leaf drying, spikelet fertility and single plant yield.A panel containing 101 genotypes was constituted based on screening results and genotyped using Dro1 and Dro2 markers.Structure software categorized the genotypes into four sub-populations with different fixation index values for root growth angle. The clustering analysis and principal coordinate analysis could differentiate the genotypes with or without deeper rooting trait. The dendrogram constructed based on the molecular screening for deep rooting QTLs showed clear distinction between the rainfed upland cultivars and irrigated genotypes.Eleven genotypes, namely Dular,Tepiboro,Surjamukhi,Bamawpyan,N22,Dinorado,Karni,Kusuma,Bowdel,Lalsankari and Laxmikajal, possessed both the QTLs,whereas 67 genotypes possessed only Dro1.The average angle of Dro positive genotypes ranged from 82.7°to 89.7°.These genotypes possessing the deeper rooting QTLs can be taken as donor lines to be used in marker-assisted breeding programs.Elssa PANDIT Rajendra Kumar PANDA Auromeera SAHOO Dipti Ranjan PANI Sharat Kumar PRADHAN 2020Rice science2020,27,2:4
Response of blood pressure after percutaneous transluminal renal artery angioplasty and stenting显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the short and intermediate term out-come of percutaneous transluminal renal artery angioplasty (PTRA) and stenting particularly on blood pressure (BP) control and renal function and to evaluate predictors of poor BP response after successful PTRA and stenting. METHODS: We conducted a prospective analysis of all patients who underwent PTRA and stenting in our institute between August 2010 to September 2012. A total number of 86 patients were underwent PTRA and renal stenting. Selective angiography was done to confirm at least 70% angiographic stenosis. The predilatation done except few cases with critical stenosis, direct stenting was done in the rest of cases. All patients received aspirin 325 mg orally, and clopidogrel 300 mg orally within 24 h before the procedure. Heparin was used as the procedural anticoagulant agent. Optimal results with TIMI-Ⅲ flow obtained in all cases. Following stent placement, aspirin 150 mg orally once daily was continued for a minimum of 12 mo and clopidogrel 75 mg orally once daily for at least 4 wk. The clinical, radiological, electrocardiography, echocardiography and treatment data of all patients were recorded. The BP measurement, serum creatinine and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) were recorded before the procedure and 1 and 6 mo after PTRA. RESULTS: A total of 86 patients were included in the study. The mean age of study population was 55.87±11.85 years old and 67 (77.9%) of patients were male. There was a significant reduction in both systolic and diastolic BP at 1 mo after the procedure: 170.15±20.10 mmHg vs 146.60±17.32 mmHg and 98.38±10.55 mmHg vs 89.88±9.22 mmHg respectively (P=0.0000). The reduction in BP was constant throughout the follow-up period and was evident 6 mo after the procedure: 144.23±18.19 and 88.26±9.79 mmHg respectively (P=0.0000). However, no improvement in renal function was observed at any time during the follow-up period. After multivariate analysis, we found male sex, low GFR (<60 mL/min) and higher baseline mean BP as a poor predictors of successful outcome on BP response after PTRA and stenting. CONCLUSION: The PTRA and stenting can be considered as an effective therapeutic intervention for improving BP control with minimal effect on renal function. The male sex, higher baseline BP and low GFR are associated with poor BP response after successful PTRA and stenting.Jayesh S Prajapati Sharad R Jain Hasit Joshi Shaurin Shah Kamal Sharma Sibasis Sahoo Kapil Virparia Ashok Thakkar 2013World Journal of Cardiology2013,5,7:3
Diabetes and pancreatic cancer:Exploring the two-way traffic显示文摘Pancreatic cancer(PC)is often associated with a poor prognosis.Long-standing diabetes mellitus is considered as an important risk factor for its development. This risk can be modified by the use of certain antidiabetic medications. On the other hand,new-onset diabetes can signal towards an underlying PC in the elderly population.Recently, several attempts have been made to develop an effective clinical tool for PC screening using a combination of history of new-onset diabetes and several other clinical and biochemical markers. On the contrary, diabetes affects the survival after treatment for PC.We describe this intimate and complex two-way relationship of diabetes and PC in this review by exploring the underlying pathogenesis.Ayan Roy Jayaprakash Sahoo Sadishkumar Kamalanathan Dukhabandhu Naik Pazhanivel Mohan Raja Kalayarasan 2021World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,30:3
Antioxidant Protection Mechanisms Reveal Significant Response in Drought-Induced Oxidative Stress in Some Traditional Rice of Assam, India显示文摘Drought tolerance levels and antioxidant protection mechanisms were evaluated for 21 traditional rice varieties of Assam, India, along with Sahbhagi Dhan(drought tolerant) and IR64(drought sensitive) as controls. Drought was imposed in hydroponic culture with polyethylene glycol 6000(PEG6000) that was initially standardized with different concentrations. All the rice varieties showed apparent decreases in growth characteristics under drought stress(initially at 15% for 7 d followed by 20% PEG6000 for 7 d in Yoshida medium). On the basis of standard evaluation score(SES), eight rice varieties showed high drought tolerance which were carried forward for further biochemical analyses. Based on different morphophysiological parameters, SN03(Bora), SN04(Prosad Bhog), SN05(Kola Joha), SN06(Helash Bora), SN08(Salihoi Bao), SN12(Kola Amona), SN20(Ronga Bora) and SN21(Sok-Bonglong) were identified as promising drought tolerant varieties. The non-enzymatic antioxidants activities viz., glutathione, ascorbate and enzymatic antioxidant activities such as superoxide dismutase(SOD), catalase(CAT), guaiacol peroxidase(GPX), ascorbate peroxidase(APX), glutathione reductase(GR) in shoots and roots of all the selected varieties revealed significant level of protection mechanisms as compared with controls. Enhancement in activities of the overall antioxidant enzymes including SOD, GPX, CAT, GR and APX under drought stress reflects their role in the adaptation process under water stress.Shamsun NAHAR Lakshminarayana R.VEMIREDDY Lingaraj SAHOO Bhaben TANTI 2018Rice science2018,25,4:3
