Survey and technological analysis of laser and its defense applications显示文摘The laser technology has made remarkable progress over the past couple of decades. It is being widely employed in diverse domains, such as holography, space sciences, spectroscopy, medical sciences, micro and power electronics, industrial engineering, and most distinctively,as directed energy military weapons.Owing to their active transmissions, laser systems are similar to microwave radars to some extent;however, unlike conventional radars, the laser operates at very high frequencies thus making it a potent enabler of narrow-beam and high energy aerial deployments, both in offensive and defensive roles. In modern avionics systems, laser target indicators and beam riders are the most common devices that are used to direct the Laser Guided Weapons(LGW)accurately to the ground targets.Additionally, compact size and outstanding angular resolution of laser-based systems motivate their use for drones and unmanned aerial applications. Moreover, the narrow-beam divergence of laser emissions offers a low probability of intercept, making it a suitable contender for secure transmissions and safety-critical operations.Furthermore, the developments in space sciences and laser technology have given synergistic potential outcomes to use laser systems in space operations. This paper comprehensively reviews laser applications and projects for strategic defense actions on the ground or in space.Additionally,a detailed analysis has been done on recent advancements of the laser technology for target indicators and range-finders.It also reviews the advancements in the field of laser communications for surveillance, its earlier state of the art,and ongoing scientific research and advancements in the domain of high energy directed laser weapons that have revolutionized the evolving military battlefield.Besides offering a comprehensive taxonomy, the paper also critically analyzes some of the recent contributions in the associated domains.Syed Affan Ahmed Mujahid Mohsin Syed Muhammad Zubair Ali 2021Defence Technology(防务技术)2021,17,2:10
Electrochemical CO_(2) reduction to C_(2+) products using Cu-based electrocatalysts:A review显示文摘With the disruptive carbon cycle being blamed for global warming, the plausible electrocatalytic CO_(2)reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)to form valuable C_(2+)hydrocarbons and feedstock is becoming a hot topic.Cu-based electrocatalysts have been proven to be excellent CO_(2)RR alternatives for high energy value-added products in this regard. However, the selectivity of CO_(2)RR to form C_(2+)products via Cu-based catalysts suffers from a high overpotential, slow reaction kinetics, and low selectivity. This review attempts to discuss various cutting-edge strategies for understanding catalytic design such as Cu-based catalyst surface engineering, tuning Cu bandgap via alloying, nanocatalysis, and the effect of the electrolyte and pH on catalyst morphology. The most recent advances in in situ spectroscopy and computational techniques are summarized to fully comprehend reaction mechanisms, structural transformation/degradation mechanisms, and crystal facet loss with subsequent effects on catalyst activity.Furthermore, approaches for tuning Cu interactions are discussed from four key perspectives:single-atom catalysts, interfacial engineering,metal-organic frameworks, and polymer-incorporated materials, which provide new insights into the selectivity of C_(2+)products.Finally,major challenges are outlined, and potential prospects for the rational design of catalysts for robust CO_(2)RR are proposed. The integration of catalytic design with mechanistic understanding is a step forward in the promising advancement of CO_(2)RR technology for industrial applications.Touqeer Ahmad Shuang Liu Muhammad Sajid Ke Li Mohsin Ali Liang Liu Wei Chen 2022Nano Research Energy2022,1,2:5
Phyto-Toxicity of Chromium in Maize: Oxidative Damage, Osmolyte Accumulation, Anti-Oxidative Defense and Chromium Uptake显示文摘Agricultural production systems are immensely exposed to different environmental stresses in which heavy metal stress receives serious concerns. This study was conducted to explore the deleterious effects of different chromium(Cr) stress levels, i.e., 0, 30, 6090, 120, and 150 μmol L-1, on two maize genotypes, Wandan 13 and Runnong 35. Both genotypes were evaluated by measuring their growth and yield characteristics, Cr accumulation in different plant tissues, alterations in osmolyte accumulation, generation o reactive oxygen species(ROS), and anti-oxidative enzyme activity to scavenge ROS. The results showed that Cr stress decreased the leaf area, cob formation, 100-grain weight, shoot fresh biomass, and yield formation, while Cr accumulation in different maize tissues was found in the order of roots > leaves > stem > seeds in both genotypes. The increased Cr toxicity resulted in higher free proline soluble sugars and total phenolic contents, and lower soluble protein contents. However, enhanced lipid peroxidation was noticed in the forms of malondialdehyde, hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) and thiobarbituric acid reactive substance accumulation, and electrolyte leakage. The hyperactivity of superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, catalase, ascorbate peroxidase, especially glutathione peroxidase and glutathione reductase indicated that these anti-oxidative enzymes had a central role in protecting maize from Cr toxicity, especially for Wandan 13. Moreover, higher uptake and less translocation of Cr contents into the grains of Wandan 13 implied its importance as a potential candidate against soil Cr pollution.Shakeel Ahmad ANJUM Umair ASHRAF Imran KHAN Mohsin TANVEER Muhammad SHAHID Abdul SHAKOOR WANG Longchang 2017Pedosphere2017,27,2:3

Advances in engineered Bacillus subtilis biofilms and spores, and their applications in bioremediation, biocatalysis, and biomaterials显示文摘Bacillus subtilis is a commonly used commercial specie with broad applications in the fields of bioengineering and biotechnology.B.subtilis is capable of producing both biofilms and spores.Biofilms are matrix-encased multicellular communities that comprise various components including exopolysaccharides, proteins, extracellular DNA,and poly-γ-glutamic acid. These biofilms resist environmental conditions such as oxidative stress and hence have applications in bioremediation technologies.Furthermore, biofilms and spores can be engineered through biotechnological techniques for environmentally-friendly and safe production of bio-products such as enzymes. The ability to withstand with harsh conditions and producing spores makes Bacillus a suitable candidate for surface display technology. In recent years, the spores of such specie are widely used as it is generally regarded as safe to use.Advances in synthetic biology have enabled the reprogramming of biofilms to improve their functions and enhance the production of value-added products.Globally, there is increased interest in the production of engineered biosensors, biocatalysts, and biomaterials. The elastic modulus and gel properties of B.subtilis biofilms have been utilized to develop living materials. This review outlines the formation of B.subtilis biofilms and spores.Biotechnological engineering processes and their increasing application in bioremediation and biocatalysis,as well as the future directions of B.subtilis biofilm engineering, are discussed.Furthermore, the ability of B.subtilis biofilms and spores to fabricate functional living materials with self-regenerating,self-regulating and environmentally responsive characteristics has been summarized. This review aims to resume advances in biological engineering of B.subtilis biofilms and spores and their applications.Muhammad Zubair Mohsin Rabia Omer Jiaofang Huang Ali Mohsin Meijin Guo Jiangchao Qian Yingping Zhuang 2021Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2021,6,3:2
Stochastic Numerical Analysis for Impact of Heavy Alcohol Consumption on Transmission Dynamics of Gonorrhoea Epidemic显示文摘This paper aims to perform a comparison of deterministic and stochastic models. The stochastic modelling is a more realistic way to study the dynamics of gonorrhoea infection as compared to its corresponding deterministic model. Also, the deterministic solution is itself mean of the stochastic solution of the model. For numerical analysis, first,we developed some explicit stochastic methods, but unfortunately, they do not remain consistent in certain situations. Then we proposed an implicitly driven explicit method for stochastic heavy alcohol epidemic model. The proposed method is independent of the choice of parameters and behaves well in all scenarios. So,some theorems and simulations are presented in support of the article.Kamaleldin Abodayeh Ali Raza Muhammad Shoaib Arif Muhammad Rafiq Mairaj Bibi Muhammad Mohsin 2020Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,3:2
Ag-Co3O4:Synthesis,characterization and evaluation of its photo-catalytic activity towards degradation of rhodamine B dye in aqueous medium显示文摘Synthesis, characterization of Co_3O_4 and Ag-Co_3O_4 composites and evaluation of their photo-catalytic activities towards photo-degradation of aqueous solution of rhodamine B dye under irradiation of visible light have been described in this paper.Co_3O_4 was prepared by solid phase mechano chemical process using Co(NO_3)_2·6H_2O and NH_4 HCO_3 as precursor materials.Ag was deposited on Co_3O_4 from AgNO_3 using Calotropis gigantea extract as reducing agent.XRD,SEM and FTIR were used for characterization of prepared composites.Photo-catalytic efficiencies of as-prepared Co_3O_4 and Ag-Co_3O_4 were evaluated for aqueous phase photo-degradation of rhodamine B.It was found that deposition of Ag on Co_3O_4 highly enhanced the photo-catalytic activity of Co_3O_4.Photo-catalytic degradation followed the Eley–Rideal mechanism.About 100% and 91% photo-degradation of 40 ml dye solution achieved at 313 K in 90 and 120 min over 0.05 g of Ag-Co_3O_4 as photo-catalyst using 100 and 200 mg·L^(-1) as initial concentration of dye respectively.Muhammad Saeed Majid Muneer Nida Mumtaz Mohsin Siddique Nadia Akram Muhammad Hamayun 2018Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2018,26,6:1

Connective tissue growth factor expression hints at aggressive nature of colorectal cancer显示文摘BACKGROUND Connective tissue growth factor(CTGF)is a mediator of transforming growth factor-beta signaling and plays a key role in connective tissue remodeling, inflammatory processes and fibrosis in various illnesses including cancer.AIM To investigate the role of CTGF in colorectal cancer(CRC)progression and to compare the CTGF expression with different clinicopathological parameters.METHODS Real-time polymerase chain reaction, immunohistochemistry and Western blotting was performed to evaluate the CTGF expression and the results were statistically analyzed against the clinicopathological variables of patient data using STATA software version 16.RESULTS CTGF expression levels in tumor specimens were significantly higher than their paired normal specimens. The higher protein expression levels showed a significant association with smoking, staging, tumor grade, invasion depth, necrosis of tumor tissue, and both lymphovascular and perineural invasion. As per the cox regression model and classification tree analysis,tumor-nodemetastasis stage and perineural invasion were important predictors for CTGF expression and prognosis of CRC patients.Survival analysis indicated that CTGF overexpression was associated with poorer overall and disease-free survival.CONCLUSION Expression of CTGF was increased in CRC and was linked with poor overall and disease-free survival of CRC patients. These findings support prior observations and thus CTGF may be a possible prognostic marker in CRC.Ishrat Parveiz Bhat Tahseen Bilal Rather Irfan Maqbool Gowhar Rashid Kulsum Akhtar Gulzar A Bhat Fazl Q Parray Besina Syed Ishrat Younas Khan Mohsin Kazi Muhammad D Hussain Mudassar Syed 2022World Journal of Gastroenterology2022,28,5:1

Predatory Efficacy of Cotton Inhabiting Spiders on Bemisiatabaci, Amrascadevastans Thripstabaci and Helicoverpa armigera in Laboratory Conditions显示文摘Distinction of predator's diet and prey choice preference is a hot topic of current investigations. Spider being generalist predator and cosmopoliter in nature acts as biological control agent in many agro-ecosystems. In the current study, predatory efficacy of five spiders(Pardosa birmanica, Cyclosa insulana, Thomisus projectus, Plexippus paykulli and Lycosa terrestris) inhabiting the cotton fi eldevaluated in the laboratory conditions maintained at(27±2)℃ temperature, 65%±5% relative humidity and 12 : 12 h of light and dark photoperiod. Four key cotton pests' viz. Bemisiatabaci, Amrascadevastans Thripstabaci and Helicoverpa armigera were utilized in the choice and no-choice predatory studies. The findings of current investigation revealed that each predatory spider utilized at least one pest species. Predation rate was found higher in the no-choice predation because of unavailability of substitutes feeding source. The investigation also indicated each predatory spider killed more pests than consumed. The findings of this study support the predatory role of spiders in controlling the cotton major pests.Mohsin S B Li Yi-jing Tang Li-jie Maqsood I Ting Ma-sun Han Le-meng Khalil U R Andleeb S Muhammad S K Saleem M A 2015Journal of Northeast Agricultural University(English Edition)2015,22,3:1
Fishery stock assessment of Kiddi shrimp (Parapenaeopsis stylifera) in the Northern Arabian Sea Coast of Pakistan by using surplus production models显示文摘Pakistani marine waters are under an open access regime.Due to poor management and policy implications, blind fishing is continued which may result in ecological as well as economic losses. Thus,it is of utmost importance to estimate fishery resources before harvesting. In this study, catch and effort data,1996-2009,of Kiddi shrimp Parapenaeopsis stylifera fishery from Pakistani marine waters was analyzed by using specialized fishery software in order to know fishery stock status of this commercially important shrimp.Maximum, minimum and average capture production of P.stylifera was observed as 15 912 metric tons(mt)(1997),9 438 mt(2009) and 11 667 mt/a.Two stock assessment tools viz.CEDA(catch and effort data analysis) and ASPIC(a stock production model incorporating covariates) were used to compute MSY(maximum sustainable yield) of this organism. In CEDA,three surplus production models,Fox,Schaefer and Pella-Tomlinson,along with three error assumptions, log, log normal and gamma, were used. For initial proportion(IP) 0.8,the Fox model computed MSY as 6 858 mt(CV=0.204,R^2=0.709) and 7 384 mt(CV=0.149,R^2=0.72) for log and log normal error assumption respectively. Here, gamma error produced minimization failure.Estimated MSY by using Schaefer and Pella-Tomlinson models remained the same for log,log normal and gamma error assumptions i.e.7 083 mt,8 209 mt and 7 242 mt correspondingly. The Schafer results showed highest goodness of fit R^2(0.712) values.ASPIC computed MSY,CV,R^2,F_(MSY)and B_(MSY) parameters for the Fox model as 7 219 mt,0.142,0.872,0.111 and 65 280,while for the Logistic model the computed values remained 7 720 mt,0.148,0.868,0.107 and 72 110 correspondingly. Results obtained have shown that P.stylifera has been overexploited.Immediate steps are needed to conserve this fishery resource for the future and research on other species of commercial importance is urgently needed.MOHSIN Muhammad 慕永通 MEMON Aamir Mahmood KALHORO Muhammad Talib SHAH Syed Baber Hussainin 2017Chinese Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2017,35,4:1
Essential Features Preserving Dynamics of Stochastic Dengue Model显示文摘Nonlinear stochasticmodelling plays an important character in the different fields of sciences such as environmental, material, engineering, chemistry, physics, biomedical engineering, and many more.In the current study,we studied the computational dynamics of the stochastic dengue model with the real material of the model.Positivity, boundedness, and dynamical consistency are essential features of stochastic modelling. Our focus is to design the computational method which preserves essential features of the model. The stochastic non-standard finite difference technique is most efficient as compared to other techniques used in literature.Analysis and comparison were explored in favour of convergence. Also,we address the comparison between the stochastic and deterministic models.Wasfi Shatanawi Ali Raza Muhammad Shoaib Arif Muhammad Rafiq Mairaj Bibi Muhammad Mohsin 2021Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2021,,1:1
Stochastic Analysis for the Dynamics of a Poliovirus Epidemic Model显示文摘Most developing countries such as Afghanistan,Pakistan,India,Bangladesh, and many more are still fighting against poliovirus.According to the World Health Organization, approximately eighteen million people have been infected with poliovirus in the last two decades. In Asia, still, some countries are suffering from the virus. The stochastic behavior of the poliovirus through the transition probabilities and non-parametric perturbation with fundamental properties are studied. Some basic properties of the deterministic model are studied, equilibria, local stability around the stead states, and reproduction number.Euler Maruyama, stochastic Euler, and stochastic Runge-Kutta study the behavior of complex stochastic differential equations. The main target of this study is to develop a nonstandard computational method that restores dynamical features like positivity, boundedness, and dynamical consistency.Unfortunately, the existing methods failed to fix the actual behavior of the disease. The comparison of the proposed approach with existing methods is investigated.Ali Raza Dumitru Baleanu Zafar Ullah Khan Muhammad Mohsin Nauman Ahmed Muhammad Rafiq Pervez Anwar 2023Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2023,,7:1
De-convolution and De-noising of SAR Based GPS Images Using Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization显示文摘Synthetic aperture radar(SAR) imaging is an efficient strategy which exploits the properties of microwaves to capture images.A major concern in SAR imaging is the reconstruction of image from back scattered signals in the presence of noise. The reflected signal consist of more noise than the target signal and it is a challenging problem to reduce the noise in the collected signal for better reconstruction of an image.Current studies mostly focus on filtering techniques for noise removal. This can result in an undesirable point spread function causing extreme smearing effect in the desired image. In order to handle this problem,a computational technique, particle swarm optimization(PSO) is used for de-noising purpose and later the target performance is further improved by an amalgamation of Wiener filter. Moreover,to improve the de-noising performance we have exploited the singular value decomposition based morphological filtering. To justify the proposed improvements we have simulated the proposed techniques and results are compared with the conventional existing models. The proposed method revealed considerable decrease in mean square error compared to Wiener filter and PSO techniques.Quantitative analysis of image restoration quality are also presented in comparison with Wiener filter and PSO based on the improvement in signal to noise ratio and peak signal to noise ratio.Rizwan Sadiq Muhammad Bilal Qureshi Muhammad Mohsin Khan 2023Chinese Journal of Electronics2023,32,1:1

Oblique propagation of nonlinear ion-acoustic cnoidal waves in magnetized electron–positron–ion plasmas with nonextensive electrons显示文摘Theoretical investigation of nonlinear electrostatic ion-acoustic cnoidal waves(IACWs) is presented in magnetized electron–positron–ion plasma with nonextensive electrons and Maxwellian positrons. Using reductive perturbation technique, Korteweg–de Vries equation is derived and its cnoidal wave solution is analyzed. For given plasma parameters, our model supports only positive potential(compressive) IACW structures. The effect of relevant plasma parameters(viz., nonextensive parameter q, positron concentration p, temperature ratio σ,obliqueness l3) on the characteristics of IACWs is discussed in detail.Muhammad KHALID Ghufran ULLAH Mohsin KHAN Sheraz AHMAD Sardar NABI Daud KHAN 2021Plasma Science and Technology2021,23,3:0
Nanoscaled MnSnO_(2)@CsPbBr_(3) quantum dots heterostructure photocatalyst as efficient organic pollutants degradation by peroxymonosulfate;DFT calculation显示文摘In this work,we developed a promising photocatalyst in CsPbBr_(3) quantum dots(QDs)because of their exceptional optoelectronic characteristics. However,QDs applications in the field of photocatalysis were mainly hampered by their poor stability and insufficient charge transfer efficiency.Herein,a novel and efficient MnSnO_(2)@CsPbBr_(3)(MSO@QDs)nanocomposite was first time effectively designed and synthe-sized by a wet impregnation method for peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation under the light. The newly generated interface phase of QDs between MnSnO_(2)(MSO)showed great potential to improve light ab-sorption,leading to effective separation and transfer of photoelectron-hole pairs. This novel nanocompos-ite MSO@QDs showed great Flurbiprofen(FL)removal efficiency under the PMS/Light system. It should be noted that this nanocomposite removed 85.74%of FL in just 70 min, which was almost 1.11 and 2.51 times greater than using pure QDs and pure MSO,respectively.Based on thorough measurements of structural analysis,Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET),UV-vis spectra, electrochemical impedance spec-troscopy(EIS),transient photocurrent response, and a potential mechanism for organic pollutants degra-dation over MSO@QDs nanocomposite was envisioned. The principal reactive species of photoinduced holes(h^(+)),i.e.O_(2)^(˙−),SO_(4)^(˙−),^(˙)OH,and non-radical(^(1)O_(2))were characterized via scavengers’technique and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)measurements. The highest photocatalytic performance for the re-moval of MO,MB,and IBU was demonstrated by MSO@QDs nanocomposite/PMS,revealing their excellent ability to remove organic pollutants through photo-oxidation.Furthermore,the developed nanocompos-ite exhibited good stability in an aqueous medium.According to computational investigation using the density functional theory(DFT)method, the site’s higher Fukui index f^(0) value corresponds to a greater propensity to be attacked by reactive species. This work offers a fresh perspective on developing further high-efficiency,low-cost photocatalysts for wastewater treatment.Raqiqa Tur Rasool Ghulam Abbas Ashraf Mohsin Pasha Muhammad Farooq Saleem Djamel Ghernaout Mohammed M.Fadhali Hai Guo 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,22:0
Climate Change Perceptions , Impacts and Adaptation Strategies of F arm Households in Potohar Region of Punjab, Pakistan显示文摘Climate change has become a global phenomenon and is adversely affecting agricultural development across the globe.Developing countries like Pakistan where 18.9%of the GDP(gross domestic product)came from the agriculture sector and also 42%of the labor force involved in agriculture. They are directly and indirectly affected by climate change due to an increase in the frequency and intensity of climatic extreme events such as floods, droughts and extreme weather events. In this paper,we have focused on the impact of climate change on farm households and their adaptation strategies to cope up the climatic extremes. For this purpose,we have selected farm households by using multistage stratified random sampling from four districts of the Potohar region i.e.Attock,Rawalpindi,Jhelum and Chakwal. These districts were selected by dividing the Potohar region into rain-fed areas. We have employed logistic regression to assess the determinants of adaptation to climate change and its impact. We have also calculated the marginal effect of each independent variable of the logistic regression to measure the immediate rate of change in the model. In order to check the significance of our suggested model,we have used hypothesis testing.Sohaib Aqib Syed Mohsin Ali Kazmi Muhammad Amjad Ahmed Ali Soomro Ghulam Farooque Khoso 2023Journal of Energy and Power Engineering2023,17,4:0
