Extension Protocol for the Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Patients with Common Cancers in China(INSCOC)Study:2021 update显示文摘Background Malnutrition is common in patients with cancer, and this adversely affects the survival and quality of life of patients.Chinese Society for Nutritional Oncology issued a multi-center,large-scale,long-term follow-up prospective study, the Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Patients with Common Cancers in China(INSCOC study)since 2013.This is an extension to the previous 2013-2020 study protocol. This study still sought to:①address the prognostic impact of nutritional factors and quality of life on cancer patient survival;②describe the overall and cancer-specific incidence and/or distribution of malnutrition and different measurements of patient quality of life. Methods and study design This is an observational,multi-centered,hospital-based prospective cohort study.Data collection will be performed at baseline(within 48 hours after patient admission),during the hospital stay and 30 days after hospital admission.Follow-up will be conducted for 1-20 years after enrollment. The primary outcome will be the all-cause mortality/overall survival, and secondary outcomes will be the length of hospital stay and costs of hospitalization.Study factors will include demographic characteristics, tumor characteristics, information about chronic diseases, hematological measurements(e.g.,red blood cell count, total lymphocyte counts,hemoglobin,albumin,prealbumin,creatinine,C-reactive protein,IL-6),anthropometric measurements(e.g.,height,weight,arm circumference, arm muscle circumference, triceps skinfold thickness, and waist circumference),body composition parameters,PG-SGA scores, quality of life(as indicated by the QLQ-C30 questionnaire),muscle mass(as indicated by the calf circumference),muscle strength(as indicated by the handgrip strength),muscle function(as indicated by the six-meter walking speed test)and physical status assessments(as indicated by the Karnofsky Performance Status scores). This clinical study protocol was approved by local Ethics Committees of all the participating hospitals.Written informed consent is required for each subject included.Discussion This multi-center,large-scale,long-term follow up prospective study will help improve the diagnosis of malnutrition in cancer patients and identify the risk factors associated with adverse clinical outcomes. The anticipated results of this study will highlight the need for a truly scientific appraisal of nutrition therapy in Chinese oncology populations, and finally help treat the potentially reversible elements of malnutrition in cancer patients to improve their clinical outcomes in the future.Hong Xia Xu Chun Hua Song Liang Yu Yin Chang Wang Zhen Ming Fu Zeng Qing Guo Yuan Lin Ying Ying Shi Wen Hu Yi Ba Su Yi Li Zeng Ning Li Kun Hua Wang Jing Wu Ying He Jia Jun Yang Cong Hua Xie Fu Xiang Zhou Xin Xia Song Gong Yan Chen Wen Jun Ma Su Xia Luo Zi Hua Chen Zhi Kang Chen Ming Hua Cong Hu Ma Chun Ling Zhou Wei Wang Qi Luo Yong Mei Shi Yu Mei Qi Hai Ping Jiang Wen Xian Guan Jun Qiang Chen Xiang Hua Wu Jia Xin Chen Yu Fang Lan Zhou Yong Dong Feng Rong Shao Tan Tao Li Jun Wen Ou Qing Chuan Zhao Jian Xiong Wu Min Weng Qing Hua Yao Ya Yin Yu Quan Jun Lyu Hong Qiu Ming Liu Wei Li Han Ping Shi The Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Common Cancers(INSCOC)Group 2022Journal of Nutritional Oncology2022,7,2:3
Dietary Behaviors and Influencing Factors among Rural Left-behind Children Aged below 7 Years in China显示文摘Left-behind children comprise a special population in Chinese rural areas. According to the 2007 China Census, the number of left-behind children aged ≤ 14 years was estimated at 58 million, which suggested that these children constituted a large population, especially in Chinese rural areas[1]. Till date, only a few studies have investigated the problems of dietary behaviors in rural left-behind children. A pilot study indicated that approximately 50% of left-behind children in Chinese rural areas had poor dietary behaviors[2]. Nevertheless, there is still a lack of research with large sample sizes that could reveal the actual background of dietary behaviors in these children. Therefore, we conducted this study to explore the dietary behaviors and their influencing factors among rural left-behind children aged < 7 years in China, which may provide a scientific basis to improve the dietary behaviors of these children.FAN Chun Li MA Quan Fu LUO Jia You WU Xu Feng LUO Mi Yang ZENG Rong LI Xiao Hui LI Ya Mei FANG Jun Qun 2018Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2018,31,12:2
The Mediating Effect of Body Dissatisfaction in Association between Obesity and Dietary Behavior Changes for Weight Loss in Chinese Children显示文摘Objective The aim of this study was to analyze the mediating effect of body dissatisfaction in correlation between obesity and dietary behavior changes for weight loss(DBCWL).Methods A total of 680 primary and middle school students were included in this study. Their body height, weight, and waistline were effectively measured, and they were also evaluated to assess their body dissatisfaction, perception of dietary behaviors, and DBCWL. The correlation among these factors was analyzed using mediating effect models. Results The prevalence of overweight/obesity and abdominal obesity was significantly higher in males than in females(P < 0.05). Overweight/obesity, abdominal obesity, and body dissatisfaction significantly increased the risk for DBCWL(OR = 2.57, 2.77, and 1.95, respectively). Overweight/obesity and abdominal obesity significantly increased the risk for body dissatisfaction(OR = 6.00 and 4.70,respectively). Significant mediating effects of body dissatisfaction were observed in correlation between overweight/obesity and DBCWL and between abdominal obesity and DBCWL(OR = 2.20 and 1.92,respectively;P < 0.05), and the proportions of mediating effects among the total effects were 48.89% and 46.60%, respectively. Conclusion Body dissatisfaction might play an important mediating effect in association between DBCWL and obesity, which indicates that guiding children to correctly recognize their body might be more conducive than promoting obese children toward weight loss through dietary behavior changes.GAO Huai Quan WANG Bang Xuan SUN Li Li LI Ting WU Lu FU Lian Guo MA Jun 2019Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2019,32,9:2

MEMBRANE EMULSIFICATION SYSTEMS显示文摘Microcapsules (or microspheres) with small size and narrow size distribution have potential applications as carriers of proteins and polypeptides. However the conventional preparation methods severely limit their real applications. Membrane emulsification technology may become a new preparation method of microcapsules with monodisperse droplets, mild conditions, good stability, low energy consumption and easy to realize mass production. In this paper, studies on membrane emulsification systems and the possible existing problems are summarized, and primary attempts on preparing alginate/chitosan microcapsules are conducted.Liu Xiudong, Liu Qun, He Yang, Xiong Ying, Fu Yingli, Ma Xiaojun and Yuan Quan (Lab. of biomedical material engineering, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS 116023) 2000化工学报2000,51,S1:1
Exploring exosomes to provide evidence for the treatment and prediction of Alzheimer’s disease显示文摘Exosomes are extracellular vesicles with a 30–150 nm diameter originating from endosomes. In recent years, scientists have regarded exosomes as an ideal small molecule carrier for the targeted treatment of Alzheimer’s disease(AD)across the blood-brain barrier due to their nanoscale size and low immunogenicity.A large amount of evidence shows that exosomes are rich in biomarkers, and it has been found that the changes in biomarker content in blood, cerebrospinal fluid, and urine are often associated with the onset of AD patients. In this paper, some recent advances in the use of exosomes in the treatment of AD are reviewed, and various exosome markers and some latest detection methods are summarized to provide some evidence for the detection or treatment of AD by exosomes.XIANGYU QUAN XUETING MA GUODONG LI XUEQI FU JIANGTAO LI LINLIN ZENG 2023BIOCELL2023,47,10:0
Numerical and experimental study of the effects of wind turbine operation on sand-dust transport characteristics显示文摘Given factors such as reduced land availability for onshore wind farms, wind resource enrichment levels, and costs, there is a growing trend of establishing wind farms in deserts, the Gobi, and other arid regions. Therefore, the relationship between sanddust weather environments and wind turbine operations has garnered significant attention. To investigate the impact of wind turbine wakes on sand-dust transportation, this study employs large eddy simulation to model flow fields, coupled with an actuator line model for simulating rotating blades and a multiphase particle in cell model for simulating sand particles. The research focuses on a horizontal axis wind turbine model and examines the motion and spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of four typical sizes of sand particles in the turbine wake. The findings reveal that sand particles of varying sizes exhibit a spiral settling pattern after traversing the rotating plane of wind turbine blades, influenced by blade shedding vortex and gravity.Sand particles tend to cluster in the peripheries of the vortex cores of low vorticity in the wind turbine wake. The rotation of wind turbines generates a wake vortex structure that causes a significant clustering of sand particles at the tip vortex. As the wake distance increases, the particles that cluster at the turbine's tip gradually spread outward to approximately twice the rotor diameter and then begin to mix with the incoming flow environment.Wind turbines have a noticeable impact on sand-dust transportation, hindering their movement to a significant extent. The average sand-blocking rate exhibits a trend of initially increasing and then decreasing as the wake distance increases. At its peak, the sand-blocking rate reaches an impressive 67.55%.The presence of wind turbines induces the advanced settling of sand particles, resulting in a“triangular”distribution of the deposition within the ground projection area of the wake.Gaosheng Ma Hong Han Ye Li Deshun Li Yan Wang Ning Fu Quan Zheng Rennian Li 2024Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2024,67,4:0
Use of Rich BHI Medium Instead of Synthetic TMH Medium for Gene Regulation Study in Yersinia pestis显示文摘Objective This study is to verify the use of rich BHI medium to substitute synthetic media for gene regulation studies in Yersinia pestis. Methods The transcriptional regulation of rovA by PhoP or via temperature upshift, and that of pla by CRP were investigated when Y. pestis was cultured in BHI. After cultivation under 26 °C, and with temperature shifting from 26 to 37 °C, the wild-type (WT) strain or its phoP or crp null mutant (ΔphoP or Δcrp, respectively) was subject to RNA isolation, and then the promoter activity of rovA or pla in the above strains was detected by the primer extension assay. The rovA promoter-proximal region was cloned into the pRW50 containing a promoterless lacZ gene. The recombinant LacZ reporter plasmid was transformed into WT and ΔphoP to measure the promoter activity of rovA in these two strains with the β-Galactosidase enzyme assay system. Results When Y. pestis was cultured in BHI, the transcription of rovA was inhibited by PhoP and upon temperature upshift while that of pla was stimulated by CRP. Conclusion The rich BHI medium without the need for modification to be introduced into the relevant stimulating conditions (which are essential to triggering relevant gene regulatory cascades), can be used in lieu of synthetic TMH media to cultivate Y. pestis for gene regulation studies.ZHANG Yi Quan MA Li Zhi WANG Li GAO He TAN Ya Fang GUO Zhao Biao QIU Jing Fu YANG Rui Fu ZHOU Dong Sheng 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,6:0

Highly Stretchable Shape Memory Self-Soldering Conductive Tape with Reversible Adhesion Switched by Temperature显示文摘With practical interest in the future applications of next-generation electronic devices,it is imperative to develop new conductive interconnecting materials appropriate for modern electronic devices to replace traditional rigid solder tin and silver paste of high melting temperature or corrosive solvent requirements.Herein,we design highly stretchable shape memory self-soldering conductive(SMSC)tape with reversible adhesion switched by temperature, which is composed of silver particles encapsulated by shape memory polymer.SMSC tape has perfect shape and conductivity memory property and anti-fatigue ability even under the strain of 90%.It also exhibits an initial conductivity of 2772 S cm^(−1) and a maximum tensile strain of~100%.The maximum conductivity could be increased to 5446 S cm^(−1) by decreasing the strain to 17%.Meanwhile,SMSC tape can easily realize a heating induced reversible strong-to-weak adhe-sion transition for self-soldering circuit. The combination of stable conductivity, excellent shape memory performance, and temperature-switching reversible adhesion enables SMSC tape to serve two functions of electrode and solder simultaneously. This provides a new way for conductive interconnecting materials to meet requirements of modern electronic devices in the future.Mengyan Wang Quan Zhang Yiwen Bo Chunyang Zhang Yiwen Lv Xiang Fu Wen He Xiangqian Fan Jiajie Liang Yi Huang Rujun Ma Yongsheng Chen 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,8:0
