Stenting for symptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis in China:1-year outcome of a multicentre registry study显示文摘background and purpose A multicentre prospective registry study of individually tailored stenting for a patient with symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis(ICAS)combined with poor collaterals in China showed that the short-term safety and efficacy of stenting was acceptable. However,it remained uncertain whether the low event rate could be of a long term.We reported the 1-year outcome of this registry study to evaluate the long-term efficacy of individually tailored stenting for patients with severe symptomatic ICAS combined with poor collaterals. Methods Patients with symptomatic ICAS caused by 70%-99% stenosis located at the intracranial internal carotid, middle cerebral, intracranial vertebral or basilar arteries combined with poor collaterals were enrolled.Balloon-mounted stent or balloon plus self-expanding stent were selected based on the ease of vascular access and lesion morphology determined by the operators. The primary outcome was the rate of 30-day stroke, transient ischaemic attack and death, and 12-month ischaemic stroke within the same vascular territory, haemorrhagic stroke and vascular death after stenting.results From September 2013 to January 2015,300 patients(ages 58.3±9.78 years)were recruited.Among them,159 patients were treated with balloon-mounted stent and 141 with balloon plus self-expanding stent.During the 1-year follow-up,25 patients had a primary end point event. The probability of primary outcome at 1 year was 8.1%(95% CI 5.3% to 11.7%).In 76 patients with digital subtraction angiography follow-up,27.6%(21/76)had re-stenosis≥50% and 18.4%(14/76)had re-stenosis≥70%.No baseline characteristic was associated with the primary outcome. Conclusion The event rate remains low over 1 year of individually tailored stenting for patients with severe symptomatic ICAS combined with poor collaterals.Further randomised trial of comparing individually tailored stenting with best medical therapy is needed. | Ning Ma Yong Zhang Jie Shuai Changchun Jiang Qiyi Zhu Kangning Chen Li Liu Baomin Li Xiangqun Shi Lianbo Gao Yajie Liu Feng Wang Yongli Li Tieyan Liu Hongbo Zheng Dapeng Mo Feng Gao Yilong Wang Yongjun Wang Lei Feng Zhongrong Miao | 2018 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2018,3,3: | 29

Aerobic granules cultivated and operated in continuous-flow bioreactor under particle-size selective pressure显示文摘A novel method based on the selective pressure of particle size(particle-size cultivation method, PSCM) was developed for the cultivation and operation of aerobic granular sludge in a continuous-flow reactor, and compared with the conventional method based on the selective pressure of settling velocity(settling-velocity cultivation method, SVCM). Results indicated that aerobic granules could be cultivated in continuous operation mode by this developed method within 14 days. Although in the granulation process, under particle-size selective pressure, mixed liquor suspended solids(MLSS) in the reactor fluctuated greatly and filamentous bacteria dominated the sludge system during the initial operation days, no obvious difference in profile was found between the aerobic granules cultivated by PSCM and SVCM. Moreover, aerobic granules cultivated by PSCM presented larger diameter, lower water content and higher specific rates of nitrification, denitrification and phosphorus removal, but lower settling velocity. Under long term operation of more than 30 days, aerobic granules in the continuous-flow reactor could remain stable and obtain good chemical oxygen demand(COD), NH4+-N, total nitrogen(TN) and total phosphorus(TP) removal. The results indicate that PSCM was dependent on the cultivation and maintenance of the stability of aerobic granules in continuous-flow bioreactors. | Hongbo Liu Hang Xiao Shuai Huang Huijun Ma He Liu | 2014 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,11: | 8
Suppression of strong random noise in seismic data by using time-frequency peak filtering显示文摘Time-frequency peak filtering (TFPF) is highly efficient in suppressing random noise in seismic data. Although the hypothesis of stationary Gaussian white noise cannot be fulfilled in practical seismic data, TFPF can effectively suppress white and colored random noise with different intensities, as can be theoretically demonstrated by detecting such noise in synthetic seismic data. However, a 'zero-drift' effect is observed in the filtered signal and is independent of the average power and variance of the random noise, but related to its mean value. Furthermore, we consider the situation where the local linearization of the seismic data cannot be satisfied absolutely and study the 'distortion' characteristics of the filtered signal using TFPF on a triangular wave. We found that over-compensation is possible in the frequency band for the triangular wave. In addition, it is nonsymmetrical and has a relationship to the time-varying curvature of the seismic wavelet. The results also present an improved approach for TFPF. | LI Yue YANG BaoJun LIN HongBo MA HaiTao NIE PengFei | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,7: | 5
Protective effect of oxysophoridine on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in mice显示文摘Oxysophoridine, a new alkaloid extracted from Sophora alopecuroides L., has been shown to have a protective effect against ischemic brain damage. In this study, a focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury model was established using middle cerebral artery occlusion in mice. Both 62.5, 125, and 250 mg/kg oxysophoridine, via intraperitoneal injection, and 6 mg/kg nimodipine, via intragastric administration, were administered daily for 7 days before modeling. After 24 hours of reperfusion, mice were tested for neurological deficit, cerebral infarct size was assessed and brain tissue was collected. Results showed that oxysophoridine at 125, 250 mg/kg and 6 mg/kg nimodipine could reduce neurological deficit scores, cerebral infarct size and brain water content in mice. These results provided evidence that oxysophoridine plays a protective role in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. In addition, oxysophoridine at 62.5, 125, and 250 mg/kg and 6 mg/kg nimodipine increased adenosine-triphosphate content, and decreased malondialdehyde and nitric oxide content. These compounds enhanced the activities of glutathione-peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, catalase, and lactate dehydrogenase, and decreased the activity of nitric oxide synthase. Protein and mRNA expression levels of N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunit NR1 were markedly inhibited in the presence of 250 mg/kg oxysophoridine and 6 mg/kg nimodipine. Our experimental findings indicated that oxysophoridine has a neuroprotective effect against cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury in mice, and that the effect may be due to its ability to inhibit oxidative stress and expression of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor subunit NR1. | Hongbo Wang Yuxiang Li Ning Jiang Xiaoping Chen Yi Zhang Kuai Zhang Tengfei Wang Yinju Hao Lin Ma Chengjun Zhao Yanrong Wang Tao Sun Jianqiang Yu | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,15: | 5
Experimental study on broadband bistable energy harvester with L-shaped piezoelectric cantilever beam显示文摘This paper presents an experimental study of the broadband energy harvesting and dynamic responses of an L-shaped piezoelectric cantilever beam.Experimental results show that the L-shaped piezoelectric beam generates two optimal voltage peaks when the horizontal beam size is similar to the vertical beam size.Several optimized L-shaped piezoelectric cantilever beam structures are proposed.Power generation using the inverted bistable L-shaped beam is better. It is observed experimentally that the inverted bistable L-shaped beam structure shows obvious bistable characteristics and hard spring characteristics.Furthermore, the corresponding relationship between the bistable phase portrait and the potential energy curve is found in the experiment. This is the first time that a phase portrait for stiffness hardening of an L-shaped beam has been found experimentally. These results can be applied to analysis of new piezoelectric power generation structures. | Minghui Yao Pengfei Liu Li Ma Hongbo Wang Wei Zhang | 2020 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2020,36,3: | 5
Clinical applications of free medial tibial flap with posterior tibial artery for head and neck reconstruction after tumor resection显示文摘Tumor resection causes damage in the head and neck which creates problems in swallowing, chewing, articulation, and vision, all of which seriously affect patients' quality of life. In this work, we evaluated the application of a free medial tibial flap in reconstruction of head and neck defects after tumor resection. We discussed the anatomy, surgical technique, and the advantages and disadvantages of the flap. We found several benefits for the flap, such as,it is especially effective for the defects that require thin-layer epithelium to cover or the separated soft tissue defect;a two-team approach can be used because the donor site is far away from the head and neck; and the flap is easy to integrate because of the subcutaneous fat layer of the free medial tibial flap is thin and the flap is soft. Thus, the medial tibial flap could replace the forearm flap for certain applications. | Qi Zhong Jugao Fang Zhigang Huang Xiaohong Chen Lizhen Hou Yang Zhang Pingdong Li Hongzhi Ma Hongbo Xu | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,3: | 5
In situ synthesis of CNTs/Fe-Ni/TiO_2 nanocomposite by fluidized bed chemical vapor deposition and the synergistic effect in photocatalysis显示文摘Carbon nanotube(CNTs)/Fe-Ni/TiO_2 nanocomposite photocatalysts have been synthesized by an in situ fluidized bed chemical vapor deposition(FBCVD) method. The composite photocatalysts were characterized by XRD,Raman spectroscopy,BET,FESEM,TEM,UV-vis spectroscopy, and XPS.The results showed that the CNTs were grown in situ on the surface of TiO_2.Fe(lll) in TiO_2 showed no chemical changes in the growth of CNTs.Ni(Ⅱ) was partly reduced to metal Ni in the FBCVD process, and the metal Ni acted as a catalyst for the growth of CNTs.The photocatalytic activities of CNTs/Fe-Ni/TiO_2 decreased with the rise of the FBCVD reaction temperature. For the sample synthesized at low FBCVD temperature(500℃),more than 90% and nearly 50% of methylene blue were removed under UV irradiation in 180 min and under visible light irradiation in 300 min, respectively. The probable mechanism of synergistic enhancement of photocatalysis on the CNTs/Fe-Ni/TiO_2 nanocomposite is proposed. | Lei Ma Aiping Chen Jindong Lu Zhe Zhang Hongbo He Chunzhong Li | 2014 | Particuology2014,12,3: | 5
Impermeability of Y_3Al_5O_(12) ceramic against molten glassy calcium-magnesium-alumina-silicate显示文摘Degradation of thermal barrier coatings(TBCs) caused by calcium-magnesium-aluminasilica(CMAS) glassy penetration is becoming an urgent issue for TBCs industrial applications. In this work, yttrium aluminum garnet(Y_3Al_5O_(12), YAG) nano-powders were synthesized through a chemical co-precipitation route. The resistance of YAG ceramic to glassy CMAS infiltration at1250 °C was evaluated. YAG ceramic bulk sintered at 1700 °C for 10 h was comprised of a single garnet-type Y_3Al_5O_(12) phase. The molten CMAS glass was suppressed on the surface of the YAG ceramic at 1250 °C. A chemical reaction between YAG and the molten CMAS glass did not occur at 1250 °C for 24 h, suggesting that YAG could act as an impermeable material against glassy CMAS deposits in the TBC field. | Zhaolu XUE Yue MA Shengkai GONG Hongbo GUO | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2018,31,12: | 4
A zinc finger protein, interacted with cyclophilin, affects root development via IAA pathway in rice显示文摘The plant hormone auxin plays a crucial role in lateral root development. To better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying lateral root formation,an auxin-responsive gene OsCYP2(Os02g0121300) was characterized from rice. Compared to the wild type,OsCYP2-RNAi(RNA interference) lines exhibited distinctive defects in lateral root development. Yeast two-hybrid and glutathione S-transferase pull-down results confirmed that OsCYP2 interacted with a C2HC-type zinc finger protein(OsZFP, Os01g0252900) which is located in the rice nucleus. T_2 OsZFP-RNAi lines had significantly fewer lateral roots than did wild-type plants, which suggests a role for OsCYP2 and OsZFP in regulating lateral root development.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction showed that the expression of certain Aux/IAA(auxin/indole-3-acetic acid) genes was altered in OsCYP2-and Os ZFP-RNAi lines in response to IAA. These findings imply that OsCYP2 and OsZFP participate in IAA signal pathways controlling lateral root development. More importantly, OsIAA11 showed functional redundancy not only in OsCYP2-RNAi lines but also in Os ZFP-RNAi lines, which provides important clues for the elucidation of mechanisms controlling lateral root development in response to auxin. | Peng Cui Hongbo Liu Songlin Ruan Basharat Ali Rafaqat Ali Gill Huasheng Ma Zhifu Zheng Weijun Zhou | 2017 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2017,59,7: | 4
Targeting a novel inducible GPX4 alternative isoform to alleviate ferroptosis and treat metabolic-associated fatty liver disease显示文摘Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),which is previously known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),represents a major health concern worldwide with limited therapy. Here,we provide evidence that ferroptosis,a novel form of regulated cell death characterized by iron-driven lipid peroxidation, was comprehensively activated in liver tissues from MAFLD patients. The canonical-GPX4(cGPX4),which is the most important negative controller of ferroptosis,is downregulated at protein but not mRNA level.Interestingly,a non-canonical GPX4 transcript-variant is induced(inducible-GPX4,iGPX4)in MAFLD condition. The high fat-fructose/sucrose diet(HFFD)and methionine/choline-deficient diet(MCD)-induced MAFLD pathologies, including hepatocellular ballooning, steatohepatitis andfibrosis, were attenuated and aggravated, respectively,in cGPX4-and iGPX4-knockin mice.cGPX4 and iGPX4 isoforms also displayed opposing effects on oxidative stress and ferroptosis in hepatocytes.Knockdown of iGPX4 by siRNA alleviated lipid stress, ferroptosis and cell injury.Mechanistically, the triggered iGPX4 interacts with cGPX4 to facilitate the transformation of cGPX4 from enzymatic-active monomer to enzymatic-inactive oligomers upon lipid stress, and thus promotes ferroptosis.Co-immunoprecipitation and nano LC–MS/MS analyses confirmed the interaction between iGPX4 and cGPX4.Our results reveal a detrimental role of non-canonical GPX4 isoform in ferroptosis, and indicate selectively targeting iGPX4 may be a promising therapeutic strategy for MAFLD. | Jie Tong Dongjie Li Hongbo Meng Diyang Sun Xiuting Lan Min Ni Jiawei Ma Feiyan Zeng Sijia Sun Jiangtao Fu Guoqiang Li Qingxin Ji Guoyan Zhang Qirui Shen Yuanyuan Wang Jiahui Zhu Yi Zhao Xujie Wang Yi Liu Shenxi Ouyang Chunquan Sheng Fuming Shen Pei Wang | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,9: | 3
Single-cell transcriptomic landscape of human blood cells显示文摘High throughput single-cell RNA-seq has been successfully implemented to dissect the cellular and molecular features underlying hematopoiesis. However,an elaborate and comprehensive transcriptome reference of the whole blood system is lacking. Here,we profiled the transcriptomes of 7551 human blood cells representing 32 immunophenotypic cell types, including hematopoietic stem cells, progenitors and mature blood cells derived from 21 healthy donors. With high sequencing depth and coverage,we constructed a single-cell transcriptional atlas of blood cells(ABC) on the basis of both protein-coding genes and long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs),and showed a high consistence between them.Notably, putative lncRNAs and transcription factors regulating hematopoietic cell differentiation were identified. While common transcription factor regulatory networks were activated in neutrophils and monocytes, lymphoid cells dramatically changed their regulatory networks during differentiation.Furthermore,we showed a subset of nucleated erythrocytes actively expressing immune signals, suggesting the existence of erythroid precursors with immune functions. Finally,a web portal offering transcriptome browsing and blood cell type prediction has been established. Thus, our work provides a transcriptional map of human blood cells at single-cell resolution, thereby offering a comprehensive reference for the exploration of physiological and pathological hematopoiesis. | Xiaowei Xie Mengyao Liu Yawen Zhang Bingrui Wang Caiying Zhu Chenchen Wang Qing Li Yingying Huo Jiaojiao Guo Changlu Xu Linping Hu Aiming Pang Shihui Ma Una Wang Wenbin Cao Shulian Chen Qiuling Li Sudong Zhang Xueying Zhao Wen Zhou Hongbo Luo Guoguang Zheng Erlie Jiang Sizhou Feng Lixiang Chen Lihong Shi Hui Cheng Sha Hao Ping Zhu Tao Cheng | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,3: | 3

Attitude Control of Rigid Body with Inertia Uncertainty and Saturation Input显示文摘In this paper, the attitude control problem of rigid body is addressed with considering inertia uncertainty, bounded time-varying disturbances, angular velocity-free measurement, and unknown non-symmetric saturation input. Using a mathematical transformation, the effects of bounded time-varying disturbances, uncertain inertia, and saturation input are combined as total disturbances. A novel finite-time observer is designed to estimate the unknown angular velocity and the total disturbances. For attitude control, an observer-based sliding-mode control protocol is proposed to force the system state convergence to the desired sliding-mode surface; the finite-time stability is guaranteed via Lyapunov theory analysis. Finally, a numerical simulation is presented to illustrate the effective performance of the proposed sliding-mode control protocol. | Xi Ma Fuchun Sun Hongbo Li Bing He | 2017 | Tsinghua Science and Technology2017,22,1: | 2
Stochastic formulation of particle kinetics in wall-bounded two-phase flows显示文摘This paper presents a generalized framework of stochastic modeling for particle kinetics in wall-bounded flow.We modified a reflected Brownian motion process and straightforwardly obtained a Kramers equation for particle probability density function(PDF).After the wall effects were accounted for as a drift from zero in the mean displacement and suppression in the diffusivity of a particle,an analytical solution was worked out for PDF.Three distinguishable mechanisms were identified to affect the profile of particle probability distribution:external forces, turbophoresis effect, and wall-drift effect. The proposed formulation covers the Huang et al.(2009)model of a wall that produces electrostatic repulsion force and van der Waals force,as well as Monte-Carlo solutions for the Peter and Barenbrug(2002)model under a variety of relaxation times. Moreover,it successfully reproduces the two patterns of particle concentration profiles observed in experiments of sediment-laden open-channel flows. The strength of the wall-drift effect was found to be connected with the interaction frequency between particle and wall.Further exploration of the relationship among flow turbulence, particle inertia, and particle concentration is worthwhile. | MA HongBo FU XuDong | 2014 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,10: | 2
A rapid compensation method for launch data of long-range rockets under influence of the Earth's disturbing gravity field显示文摘Regarding the rapid compensation of the influence of the Earth' s disturbing gravity field upon trajectory calculation, the key point lies in how to derive the analytical solutions to the partial derivatives of the state of burnout point with respect to the launch data.In view of this, this paper mainly expounds on two issues:one is based on the approximate analytical solution to the motion equation for the vacuum flight section of a long-range rocket, deriving the analytical solutions to the partial derivatives of the state of burnout point with respect to the changing rate of the finalstage pitch program;the other is based on the initial positioning and orientation error propagation mechanism, proposing the analytical calculation formula for the partial derivatives of the state of burnout point with respect to the launch azimuth. The calculation results of correction data are simulated and verified under different circumstances. The simulation results are as follows:(1) the accuracy of approximation between the analytical solutions and the results attained via the difference method is higher than 90%,and the ratio of calculation time between them is lower than 0.2%,thus demonstrating the accuracy of calculation of data corrections and advantages in calculation speed;(2) after the analytical solutions are compensated, the longitudinal landing deviation of the rocket is less than 20 m and the lateral landing deviation of the rocket is less than 10 m,demonstrating that the corrected data can meet the requirements for the hit accuracy of a long-range rocket. | Baolin MA Hongbo ZHANG Wei ZHENG Jie WU | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,3: | 2
MTCrossBit: A dynamic binary translation system based on multithreaded optimization显示文摘Dynamic optimization has been proposed to overcome many limitations caused by static optimization and is widely applied in dynamic binary translation (DBT) to effectively enhance system performance. However, almost all the existing dynamic optimization techniques or methods employed in DBT systems for a single-threaded executive environment considerably increase the complexity of the hardware or the striking runtime overhead. We propose a multithreaded DBT framework with no associated hardware called the MTCrossBit,where a helper thread for building a hot trace is employed to significantly reduce the overhead. In addition, the main thread and helper thread are each assigned to different cores to use the multi-core resources efficiently to attain better performance, two novel methods yet to be implemented in the MTCrossBit are presented: the dual-special-parallel translation caches and the new lock-free threads communication mechanism—assembly language communication (ASLC).We then apply quantitative analysis to prove that MTCrossBit can speed up the original CrossBit.Simultaneously,we present results from the implementation of the MTCrossBit on the uniprocessor machines with multi-cores utilizing the benchmark-SPECint 2000,and illustrate that we achieved some success with the above concurrent architecture. | GUAN HaiBing MA RuHui YANG HongBo YANG YinDong LIU Liang CHEN Ying | 2011 | Science China(Information Sciences)2011,54,10: | 2
Triangulation of red sprites observed above a mesoscale convective system in North China显示文摘The triangulation of red sprites was obtained, based on concurrent observations over a mesoscale convective system(MCS) in North China from two stations separated by about 450 km. In addition, broadband sferics from the sprite-producing lightning were measured at five ground stations, making it possible to locate and identify the individual causative lightning discharges for different elements in this dancing sprite event. The results of our analyses indicate that the sprites were produced above the trailing stratiform region of the MCS, and their parent strokes were located mainly in the peripheral area of the stratiform. The lateral offset between sprites and causative strokes ranges from a few km to more than 50 km. In a particularly bright sprite, with a distinct halo feature and streamers descending down to an altitude of approximately 48 km, the sprite current signal identified in the electric sferic, measured at a range of about 1,110 km, peaked at approximately 1 ms after the return stroke. | YongPing Wang GaoPeng Lu Ming Ma HongBo Zhang YanFeng Fan GuoJin Liu ZheRun Wan Yu Wang Kang-Ming Peng ChangZhi Peng FeiFan Liu BaoYou Zhu BinBin Ni XuDong Gu Long Chen Juan Yi RuoXian Zhou | 2019 | Earth and Planetary Physics2019,3,2: | 2
CD38 deficiency alleviates Ang II-induced vascular remodeling by inhibiting small extracellular vesicle-mediated vascular smooth muscle cell senescence in mice显示文摘CD38 is the main enzyme for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NAD)degradation in mammalian cells.Decreased NAD levels are closely related to metabolic syndromes and aging-related diseases. Our study showed that CD38 deficiency significantly alleviated angiotensin II(Ang ll)-induced vascular remodeling in mice,as shown by decreased blood pressures;reduced vascular media thickness,media-to-lumen ratio, and collagen deposition;and restored elastin expression. However, our bone marrow transplantation assay showed that CD38 deficiency in lymphocytes led to lack of protection against Ang ll-induced vascular remodeling, suggesting that the effects of CD38 on Ang ll-induced vascular remodeling might rely primarily on vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs),not lymphocytes. In addition,we observed that CD38 deficiency or NAD supplementation remarkably mitigated Ang ll-induced vascular senescence by suppressing the biogenesis, secretion, and internalization of senescence-associated small extracellular vesicles(SA-sEVs),which facilitated the senescence of neighboring non-damaged VSMCs.Furthermore,we found that the protective effects of CD38 deficiency on VSMC senescence were related to restoration of lysosome dysfunction, particularly with respect to the maintenance of sirtuin-mediated mitochondrial homeostasis and activation of the mitochondria-lysosomal axis in VSMCs.In conclusion, our findings demonstrated that CD38 and its associated intracellular NAD decline are critical for Ang ll-induced VSMC senescence and vascular remodeling. | Lu Gan Demin Liu Jing Liu Erya Chen Chan Chen Lian Liu Hang Hu Xiaohui Guan Wen Ma Yanzi Zhang Yarong He Bofu Liu Songling Tang Wei Jiang Jianxin Xue Hongbo Xin | 2021 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,7: | 2
