1Relationship between MODIS-NDVI data and wheat yield: A case study in Northern Buenos Aires province, Argentina显示文摘In countries like Argentina,whose economy depends heavily on crop production,the estimation of harvests is an elementary requirement.Besides providing objectivity,the use of remote sensing allows estimating yield in advance.Since the time of maximum leaf area in wheat corresponds with the critical period of the crop,a good relationship is expected between the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)and yield.The present study was carried out in the North of Buenos Aires province,Argentina.Based on the type of soil,the study area can be divided into two homogeneous subzones:a subzone with lower clay content in the southwestand a subzone with higher clay content in the northeast.Nine growing seasons(2003–2011)were studied.In the first five years,an empirical model was calibrated and validated with field-observed wheat yields and MOD13q1 product-NDVI data,whereas in the other four years,the calibrated model was applied by means of yield maps and by comparing with official yields.The MOD13q1 image corresponding to Julian day 289 showed the best fit between NDVI and yield to estimate wheat yield early.Through yield maps,better weather conditions showedhigher yields and higher soil productivity presented a greater proportion of the area occupied by higher yields.At department level,an R2 value of 0.75 was found after relating the estimation of the calibrated empirical model with official yields.The method used allows predicting wheat yield 30 days before harvest.Through yield maps,the NDVI perceived the temporal and spatial variability in the study area.Mariano F.Lopresti Carlos M.Di Bella Américo J.Degioanni 2015Information Processing in Agriculture2015,2,2:8

3Polyethoxylation and polypropoxylation reactions:Kinetics,mass transfer and industrial reactor design显示文摘Ethoxylation and propoxylation reactions are performed in the industry to produce mainly non-ionic surfactants and ethylene oxide(EO)–propylene oxide(PO) copolymers.Both the reactions occur in gas–liquid reactors by feeding gaseous EO,PO or both into the reactor containing a solution of an alkaline catalyst(KOH or Na OH).Non-ionic surfactants are produced by using liquid starters like fatty alcohols,fatty acids or alkyl-phenols,while when the scope is to prepare EO–PO copolymers the starter can be a mono-or multi-functional alcohol of low molecular weight.Both reactions are strongly exothermic,and EO and PO,in some conditions,can give place to runaway and also to explosive side reactions.Therefore,the choice of a suitable reactor is a key factor for operating in safe conditions.A correct reactor design requires:(i) the knowledge of the kinetic laws governing the rates of the occurring reactions;(ii) the role of mass and heat transfer in affecting the reaction rate;(iii) the solubility of EO and PO in the reacting mixture with the non-ideality of the reacting solutions considered;(iv) the density of the reacting mixture.All these aspects have been studied by our research group for different starters of industrial interest,and the data collected by using semibatch well stirred laboratory reactors have been employed for the simulation of industrial reactors,in particular Gas–Liquid Spray Tower Loop Reactors.E.Santacesaria R.Tesser M.Di Serio 2018Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2018,26,6:2

12Genetic characterization of an almond germplasm collection and volatilome profiling of raw and roasted kernels显示文摘Almond is appreciated for its nutraceutical value and for the aromatic profile of the kernels.In this work,an almond collection composed of 96 Sicilian accessions complemented with 10 widely cultivated cultivars was phenotyped for the production of volatile organic compounds using a proton-transfer time-of-flight mass spectrometer and genotyped using the Illumina Infinium®18 K Peach SNP array.The profiling of the aroma was carried out on fresh and roasted kernels enabling the detection of 150 mass peaks.Sixty eight,for the most related with sulfur compounds,furan containing compounds,and aldehydes formed by Strecker degradation,significantly increased during roasting,while the concentration of fifty-four mass peaks,for the most belonging to alcohols and terpenes,significantly decreased.Four hundred and seventy-one robust SNPs were selected and employed for population genetic studies.Structure analysis detected three subpopulations with the Sicilian accessions characterized by a different genetic stratification compared to those collected in Apulia(South Italy)and the International cultivars.The linkage-disequilibrium(LD)decay across the genome was equal to r^(2)=0.083.Furthermore,a high level of collinearity(r^(2)=0.96)between almond and peach was registered confirming the high synteny between the two genomes.A preliminary application of a genome-wide association analysis allowed the detection of significant marker-trait associations for 31 fresh and 33 roasted almond mass peaks respectively.An accurate genetic and phenotypic characterization of novel germplasm can represent a valuable tool for the set-up of marker-assisted selection of novel cultivars with an enhanced aromatic profile.M.Di Guardo B.Farneti I.Khomenko G.Modica A.Mosca G.Distefano L.Bianco M.Troggio F.Sottile S.La Malfa F.Biasioli A.Gentile 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:1

16THE ONE-DIMENSIONAL HUGHES MODEL FOR PEDESTRIAN FLOW:RIEMANN-TYPE SOLUTIONS显示文摘This paper deals with a coupled system consisting of a scalar conservation law and an eikonal equation,called the Hughes model.Introduced in [24],this model attempts to describe the motion of pedestrians in a densely crowded region,in which they are seen as a 'thinking'(continuum) fluid.The main mathematical difficulty is the discontinuous gradient of the solution to the eikonal equation appearing in the flux of the conservation law.On a one dimensional interval with zero Dirichlet conditions(the two edges of the interval are interpreted as 'targets'),the model can be decoupled in a way to consider two classical conservation laws on two sub-domains separated by a turning point at which the pedestrians change their direction.We shall consider solutions with a possible jump discontinuity around the turning point.For simplicity,we shall assume they are locally constant on both sides of the discontinuity.We provide a detailed description of the localin-time behavior of the solution in terms of a 'global' qualitative property of the pedestrian density(that we call 'relative evacuation rate'),which can be interpreted as the attitude of the pedestrians to direct towards the left or the right target.We complement our result with explicitly computable examples.Debora Amadori M.Di Francesco 2012Acta Mathematica Scientia2012,32,1:0
17气-液半间歇反应器中甘油氯化:用于生产氯代醇的新型催化剂(英)显示文摘Glycerol from biodiesel production can be an important industrial feedstock for chemical commodities as it can be used in the food,cosmetic,pharmaceutical and tobacco industries.However,crude glycerol derived from biodiesel production has a low value because of impurities.The purification of this glycerol into a high grade involves high costs and is not economically feasible for small and medium size plants.The glycerol conversion into chlorohydrins was studied using new homogeneous catalysts and hydrochloric acid as chlorination agent.This is an interesting alternative route to epichlorohydrin and then to epoxy resins.The behavior of two series of homologous catalysts,glycolic acid series(glycolic acid,di-glycolic acid and thio-glycolic acid) and amminoacid series(glutamic acid,aspartic acid and cysteine),were investigated for their activity and selectivity.Glycolic acids were more active than amminoacids.The pK_a values had a strong influence on selectivity(mono-chlorohydrins/di-chlorohydrins) for the amminoacid series,which was not observed for the glycolic acids.A kinetic model and reaction mechanism developed in a previous work were used for interpreting the kinetic runs.R.Vitiello V.Russo R.Turco R.Tesser M.Di Serio E.Santacesaria 2014催化学报2014,35,5:0
