1Fecal microbiota transplantation cured epilepsy in a case with Crohn's disease: The first report显示文摘Fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)is a promising strategy that involves reconstruction of gut microbiota.Recently,it has been considered as a treatment of Crohn’s disease(CD)and certain neurological diseases.Here,to the best of our knowledge,we report the first case that used FMT to achieve remission of intestinal and neurological symptoms in a girl with CD and a 17-year history of epilepsy.During the 20 mo of follow-up,FMT has proved its efficacy in preventing relapse of seizures after withdrawing the antiepileptic drugs.Furthermore,this finding highlights the role of microbiota-gut-brain axis and inspires a novel treatment for epilepsy through remodeling gut microbiota.Zhi He Bo-Ta Cui Ting Zhang Pan Li Chu-Yan Long Guo-Zhong Ji Fa-Ming Zhang 2017World Journal of Gastroenterology2017,23,19:37
2Kinetic Adsorption of Ammonium Nitrogen by Substrate Materials for Constructed Wetlands显示文摘Constructed wetlands (CWs) are engineered systems that utilize natural systems including wetland vegetations,soils,and their associated microbial assemblages to assist in treating wastewater.The kinetic adsorption of ammonium nitrogen (NH4+-N) by CW substrate materials such as blast furnace slag (BFS),zeolite,ceramsite,vermiculite,gravel,paddy soil,red soil,and turf,was investigated using batch experiments and kinetic adsorption isotherms.Both Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms could adequately predict the NH4+-N adsorption process.The maximum adsorption capacities of NH4+-N,estimated from the Langmuir isotherm,ranked as:zeolite (33 333.33 mg kg-1) > turf (29 274.01 mg kg-1) > BFS (5 000 mg kg-1) > vermiculite (3 333.33 mg kg-1) > gravel (769.23 mg kg-1) > paddy soil (588.24 mg kg-1) > red soil (555.56 mg kg-1) > ceramsite (107.53 mg kg-1).Some properties of the substrate materials,including bulk density,specific gravity,hydraulic conductivity,uniformity coefficient (K60),curvature coefficient (Cc),organic matter,pH,exchangeable (or active) Cu,Fe,Zn and Mn,total Cu,and Fe,Mn,Zn,Cd,Pb and Ca,had negative correlations with NH4+-N adsorption.Other properties of the substrate materials like particle diameter values of D10,D30 and D60 (the diameters of particle sizes of a substrate material at which 10%,30% and 60%,respectively,of the particles pass through the sieve based on the accumulative frequency),cation exchange capacity (CEC),exchangeable (or active) Ca and Mg,and total K and Mg had positive correlations with NH4+-N adsorption.In addition,active K and Na as well as the total Na had significant positive correlations with NH4+-N adsorption.This information would be useful for selection of suitable substrate materials for CWs.ZHU Wen-Ling CUI Li-Hua OUYANG Ying LONG Cui-Fen TANG Xiao-Dan 2011Pedosphere2011,21,4:21
3mm Wave communications for 5G: implementation challenges and advances显示文摘The requirement of the fifth generation(5 G) wireless communication for high throughput motivates the wireless industry to use the mm Wave(millimeter wave) communications for its wide bandwidth advantage. To compensate the heavy path loss and increase the communications capacity, phased array beamforming and massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) techniques are employed at both the user equipment(UE) and base stations(BS). Considering the commercial requirements, 5 G mm Wave large array systems should be implemented in an energy-and cost-efficient way with a small form factor. To address above issues and realize a reliable communications link, taking into account the particular characteristics of5 G mm Wave systems, this paper firstly examines the design challenges and trade-offs in system implementations, then some of the design strategies are summarized. 4Melatonin alleviates intervertebral disc degeneration by disrupting the IL-1β/NF-κB-NLRP3 inflammasome positive feedback loop显示文摘The inflammatory response is induced by the overexpression of inflammatory cytokines, mainly interleukin(IL)-1β, and is one of the main causes of intervertebral disc degeneration(IVDD). NLR pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3) inflammasome activation is an important source of IL-1β. As an anti-inflammatory neuroendocrine hormone, melatonin plays various roles in different pathophysiological conditions. However, its roles in IVDD are still not well understood and require more examination. First, we demonstrated that melatonin delayed the progression of IVDD and relieved IVDD-related low back pain in a rat needle puncture IVDD model;moreover, NLRP3 inflammasome activation(NLRP3, p20, and IL-1β levels) was significantly upregulated in severely degenerated human discs and a rat IVDD model. Subsequently, an IL-1β/NF-κB-NLRP3 inflammasome activation positive feedback loop was found in nucleus pulposus(NP) cells that were treated with IL-1β. In these cells, expression of NLRP3 and p20 was significantly increased, NF-κB signaling was involved in this regulation, and mitochondrial reactive oxygen species(mt ROS)production increased. Furthermore, we found that melatonin disrupted the IL-1β/NF-κB-NLRP3 inflammasome activation positive feedback loop in vitro and in vivo. Melatonin treatment decreased NLRP3, p20, and IL-1β levels by inhibiting NF-κB signaling and downregulating mt ROS production. Finally, we showed that melatonin mediated the disruption of the positive feedback loop of IL-1β in vivo. In this study, we showed for the first time that IL-1β promotes its own expression by upregulating NLRP3 inflammasome activation. 5Adult intussusception:A retrospective review of 41 cases显示文摘AIM:To optimize the preoperative diagnosis and surgical management of adult intussusception (AI).METHODS:A retrospective review of the clinical features,diagnosis,management and pathology 41 adult patients with postoperative diagnoses of intussusception was conducted.RESULTS:Forty-one patients with 44 intussusceptions were operated on,24.4% had acute symptoms,24.4% had subacute symptoms,and 51.2% had chronic symptoms.70.7% of the patients presented with intestinal obstruction.There were 20 enteric,15 ileocolic,eight colocolonic and one sigmoidorectal intussusceptions.65.9% of intussusceptions were diagnosed preoperatively using a computed tomography (CT) scan (90.5% accurate) and ultrasonography (60.0% accurate,rising to 91.7% for patients who had a palpable abdominal mass).Coloscopy located the occupying lesions of the lead point of ileocolic,colocolonic and sigmoidorectal intussusceptions.Four intussusceptions in three patients were simply reduced.Twenty-one patients underwent resection after primary reduction.There was no mortality and anastomosis leakage perioperatively.Except for one patient with multiple small bowel adenomas,which recurred 5 mo after surgery,no patients were recurrent within 6 mo.Pathologically,54.5% of the intussusceptions had a tumor,of which 27.3% were malignant.9.1% comprised nontumorous polyps.Four intussusceptions had a gastrojejunostomy with intestinal intubation,and four intussusceptions had no organic lesion.CONCLUSION:CT is the most effective and accurate diagnostic technique.Colonoscopy can detect most lead point lesions of non-enteric intussusceptions.Intestinal intubation should be avoided.Ning Wang Xing-Yu Cui Yu Liu Jin Long Yuan-Hong Xu Ren-Xuan Guo Ke-Jian Guo 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,26:15
6Radiofrequency ablation for hepatic hemangiomas: A consensus from a Chinese panel of experts显示文摘Recent studies have shown that radiofrequency(RF) ablation therapy is a safe, feasible, and effective procedure for hepatic hemangiomas, even huge hepatic hemangiomas. RF ablation has the following advantages in the treatment of hepatic hemangiomas: minimal invasiveness, definite efficacy, high safety, fast recovery, relatively simple operation, and wide applicability. 9Laparoscopic hepaticoplasty using gallbladder as a subcutaneous tunnel for hepatolithiasis显示文摘AIM:To investigate the feasibility,efficacy and safety of laparoscopic hepaticoplasty using gallbladder as subcutaneous tunnel and sphincter-of-Oddi preservation for hepatolithiasis.METHODS:From January 2010 to July 2013,six patients with hepatolithiasis were treated at our institution.All the patients underwent laparoscopic surgery.The procedures included common hepatic duct exploration,stone clearance by fiberoptic choledochoscopy,hilar bile duct hepaticoplasty with preservation of the sphincter of Oddi,anastomosis between the hilar bile duct and neck of the gallbladder,and establishment of a subcutaneous tunnel with the gallbladder.Two patients underwent left lateral hepatectomy simultaneously.Clinical data including operation time,intraoperative blood loss,operative morbidity,hospital mortality,stone clearance,and recurrence rate were analyzed.RESULTS:All patients successfully completed laparoscopic surgery.The mean length of hospital stay was4.5±0.9 d(range:3-6 d).The mean blood loss of the hepatectomy was 450 mL(range:200-700 mL),and the blood loss of the other four was 137±151 mL (range:50-400 mL).The mean operative time was 318±68 min(range:236-450 min).The operative morbidity and hospital mortality were zero.The immediate stone clearance rate was 100%.All patients were followed up for an average of 17 mo(range:7-36 mo).One of the six patients had abdominal mass with pain,and subcutaneous tunnel cholangiography showed severe gallbladder-biliary anastomotic stricture at 4 mo postoperatively.There was no stone recurrence and no cholangitis during follow-up.CONCLUSION:Laparoscopic hepaticoplasty using gallbladder with a subcutaneous tunnel and preserving the sphincter of Oddi is feasible,safe and effective for hepatholithiasis.Long Cui Zhi Xu Xiao-Feng Ling Li-Xin Wang Chun-Sheng Hou Gang Wang Xiao-Si Zhou 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,12:13
10Lira-YOLO: a lightweight model for ship detection in radar images显示文摘For the detection of marine ship objects in radar images, large-scale networks based on deep learning are difficult to be deployed on existing radar-equipped devices. This paper proposes a lightweight convolutional neural network, LiraNet, which combines the idea of dense connections, residual connections and group convolution, including stem blocks and extractor modules.The designed stem block uses a series of small convolutions to extract the input image features, and the extractor network adopts the designed two-way dense connection module, which further reduces the network operation complexity. Mounting LiraNet on the object detection framework Darknet, this paper proposes Lira-you only look once(Lira-YOLO), a lightweight model for ship detection in radar images, which can easily be deployed on the mobile devices. Lira-YOLO's prediction module uses a two-layer YOLO prediction layer and adds a residual module for better feature delivery. At the same time, in order to fully verify the performance of the model, mini-RD, a lightweight distance Doppler domain radar images dataset, is constructed. Experiments show that the network complexity of Lira-YOLO is low, being only 2.980 Bflops, and the parameter quantity is smaller, which is only 4.3 MB. The mean average precision(mAP) indicators on the mini-RD and SAR ship detection dataset(SSDD) reach 83.21% and 85.46%, respectively,which is comparable to the tiny-YOLOv3. 11The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 13Thermal decomposition and oxidation of bastnaesite concentrate in inert and oxidative atmosphere显示文摘To clearly elucidate the oxidative roasting behaviors of the bastnaesite, the thermal decomposition and oxidation of the bastnaesite concentrate in inert and oxidative atmosphere have been investigated in detail. Experimental data indicated that the initial decomposition temperature of the concentrate under N_2 atmosphere is 150 ℃ higher than that under O_2 atmosphere,most likely because the oxidation of the cerium induces the decomposition of the concentrate. For the roasted samples under N_2 atmosphere at500 ℃ and above,the oxidation efficiency of the cerium is 19.8%-26.8% because of the fact that rareearth fluorocarbonate is first decomposed to form rare-earth oxyfluoride and CO_2, and the cerium oxyfluoride is then partially oxidized by the CO_2 gas. The rest cerium in these samples can be further oxidized in air at room temperature, with the oxidation efficiency of the cerium gradually increasing to above 80% in 7 d. This can be attributed to the obvious changes in the inner morphology of the roasted samples under N_2 atmosphere at high temperatures, which largely induce the diffusion of the air and improves the oxidation activity of CeOF, and further induces the oxidation of CeOF by the air. XRD and XPS techniques were used to further verify the significant differences in the thermal decomposition behaviors of the bastnaesite concentrate under N_2 and O_2 atmosphere. Moreover, no oxidation of Pr^(3+) to Pr^(4+) in the roasted samples under both N_2 and O_2 atmosphere is observed. 16Interleukin-22 contributes to liver regeneration in micewith concanavalin A-induced hepatitis after hepatectomy显示文摘AIM: To investigate the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of interleukin(IL)-22 in liver regeneration in mice with concanavalin A(Con A)-induced liver injury following 70% hepatectomy.METHODS: Mice were injected intravenously with Con A at 10 μg/g body weight 4 d before 70% hepatectomy to create a hepatitis model, and recombinant IL-22 was injected at 0.125 μg/g body weight 30 min prior to 70% hepatectomy to create a therapy model. Control animals received an intravenous injection of an identical volume of normal saline.RESULTS: IL-22 treatment prior to 70% hepatectomy performed under general anesthesia resulted in reductions in the biochemical and histological evidence of liver injury, earlier proliferating cell nuclear antigen expression and accelerated recovery of liver mass. IL-22 pretreatment also significantly induced signal transducer and activator of transcription factor 3(STAT3) activation and increased the expression of a variety of mitogenic proteins, such as Cyclin D1. Furthermore, alpha fetal protein m RNA expression was significantly elevated after IL-22 treatment.CONCLUSION: In this study, we demonstrated that IL-22 is a survival factor for hepatocytes and prevents and repairs liver injury by enhancing pro-growth pathways via STAT3 activation. 17CD74 and macrophage migration inhibitory factor as therapeutic targets in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To investigate the relationship and molecular features of CD74/macrophage migration inhibitory factor(MIF)/Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4) in gastric cancer.METHODS:CD74,MIF and TLR4 expression in the paraffin-embedded sections of gastric cancer from 120 patients were detected by immunohistochemical staining.Knock down of CD74 expression in gastric cancer cell line MKN-45 was performed by lentivirus transduction and detected by Western blotting.MKN-45 cell proliferation assay under the stimulants was measured by the cell counting kit 8(CCK8) assay and MIF concentration in the culture medium was detected by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay.Surface staining of CD74 in the MKN-45 cell line under the stimulation of lipopolysaccharide(LPS) was measured by flow cytometry.MIF,CD74 and TLR4 co-localization in the MKN-45 cell line was performed by the immunoprecipitation.RESULTS:CD74,MIF and TLR4 were found to be expressed in gastric cancer and increased significantly in the advanced stage,and were also associated with lymph node metastasis.Correlation analysis revealed that CD74 was positively correlated with MIF(r = 0.2367,P < 0.01) and both proteins were also associated with TLR4(r = 0.4414,r = 0.5001,respectively,P < 0.01).LPS can significantly promote MKN-45 cell proliferation(3.027 ± 0.388 vs 4.201 ± 0.092,P < 0.05),induce MIF production(54.333 ± 2.906 pg/mL vs 29.667 ± 3.180 pg/mL,P < 0.01) and cell surface expression of CD74(75.6% ± 4.046%vs 9.4% ± 0.964%,P < 0.01) at LPS concentration of 1 μg/mL compared to medium control.Knockdown of CD74 or using antiCD74 and MIF antagonist ISO-1 significantly reduced LPS-induced MKN-45 cell proliferation(4.201 ± 0.092 vs 3.337 ± 0.087,4.534 ± 0.222 vs 3.368 ± 0.290,4.058 ± 0.292vs 2.934 ± 0.197,respectively,P < 0.01).MIF,CD74 and TLR4 could co-localize in the MKN-45 cell line.CONCLUSION:Upregulation of MIF,CD74 and TLR4 are associated with increasing clinical stage and provide an opportunity as novel gastric cancer chemoprevention and/or treatment strategy.Ying-Xia Zheng Ming Yang Ting-Ting Rong Xiang-Liang Yuan Yan-Hui Ma Zhi-Hao Wang Li-Song Shen Long Cui 2012World Journal of Gastroenterology2012,18,18:8
18Joint Computing and Communication Resource Allocation for Satellite Communication Networks with Edge Computing显示文摘Benefit from the enhanced onboard processing capacities and high-speed satellite-terrestrial links,satellite edge computing has been regarded as a promising technique to facilitate the execution of the computation-intensive applications for satellite communication networks(SCNs).By deploying edge computing servers in satellite and gateway stations,SCNs can achieve significant performance gains of the computing capacities at the expense of extending the dimensions and complexity of resource management.Therefore,in this paper,we investigate the joint computing and communication resource management problem for SCNs to minimize the execution latency of the computation-intensive applications,while two different satellite edge computing scenarios and local execution are considered.Furthermore,the joint computing and communication resource allocation problem for the computation-intensive services is formulated as a mixed-integer programming problem.A game-theoretic and many-to-one matching theorybased scheme(JCCRA-GM)is proposed to achieve an approximate optimal solution.Numerical results show that the proposed method with low complexity can achieve almost the same weight-sum latency as the Brute-force method.Shanghong Zhang Gaofeng Cui Yating Long Weidong Wang 2021China Communications2021,18,7:8
19Diacylglycerol Compounds from Barks of Betula platyphylla with Inhibitory Activity against Acyltransferase显示文摘Objective To identify the active compounds from the barks of Betula platyphylla for inhibitory on diacylglycerol acyltransferase(DGAT1).Methods Bioassay-guided fractionation resulted in the isolation of DGAT1 inhibitory activity of lupane triterpenes.Results Ten compounds were identified as lupenone(1),lupeol(2),betulinic acid(3),betulinaldehyde(4),betulin(5),3-deoxybetulonic acid(6),glochidonol(7),lup-20/29-ene-1β/3β-diol(8),3α-hydroxy-lup-20(29)-en-23,28-dioic acid(9),and 3α,11α-dihydroxy-23-oxo-lup-20(29)-en-28-oic acid(10).Compounds 3-6,9,and 10 inhibited DGAT1 with IC50 values ranging from(11.2±0.3)to(38.6±1.2)μmol/L.Conclusion Compounds 6,9,and 10 are first isolated from the barks of B.platyphylla.,and compounds 3-6,9,and 10 from the barks of B.platyphylla are responsible for the inhibition on DGAT1.Nan Zhang Na Li Ya-nan Sun Jia-lin Li Shan-shan Xing Zhen-dong Tuo Long Cui 2014Chinese Herbal Medicines2014,6,2:8
