2Correlation between BRAF^(V600E) mutation and clinicopathological features in pediatric papillary thyroid carcinoma显示文摘In adults, the presence of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in papillary thyroid cancer(PTC) has been demonstrated to be strongly associated with aggressive cancer-cell characteristics and poor patient prognosis. In contrast, the frequency of this mutation in pediatric PTC has undergone limited study, and the few available estimates range from 0 to 63%. Furthermore, the role of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in pediatric PTC is controversial; thus, the present study aimed to investigate the prevalence and role of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation in48 pediatric patients with PTC, aged 3–13 years. Of these patients, 41 were diagnosed with classic PTC, five were found to have a follicular variant of PTC, and two to exhibit a diffuse sclerosing PTC variant. The BRAF^(V600E) mutation was identified to be present in 35.4% of the 48 analyzed patients, and in 41.5% of the patients diagnosed with classical PTC. Furthermore, the presence of the BRAF^(V600E) mutation was found to be associated with a patient age at diagnosis of less than ten years(P=0.011), the performance of a thyroidectomy(P=0.03), exhibited tumor multifocality(P=0.02) and/or extra-thyroidal invasion(P=0.003), and both a low MACIS(Metastases, Age, Completeness of resection, Invasion, Size)(P=0.036) and AMES(Age, Metastasis, Extent of tumor,Size)(P=0.001)score. 4Cationic conjugated polymers for homogeneous and sensitive fluorescence detection of hyaluronidase显示文摘The cationic charged water-soluble polyfluorenes containing 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole (BT) units (P1-3) have been synthesized and characterized. These polymers demonstrate intramolecular energy transfer from the fluorene units to the BT sites when oppositely charged hyaluronan is added due to the formation of electrostatic complexes, followed by a shift in emission color from blue to green or brown. Upon adding hyaluronidase, the hyaluronan is cleaved into fragments. The relatively weak electrostatic interactions of hyaluronan fragments with polyfluorenes keep their main chains separated and energy transfer from the fluorene units to the BT sites is inefficient, and the polyfluorenes recover their blue emissions. The complexes of conjugated polymers/hyaluronan can be utilized as probes for sensitive and facile fluorescence assays for hyaluronidase. 5An Efficient Multi-hop Broadcast Protocol for Emergency Messages Dissemination in VANETs显示文摘Black-burst based multi-hop broadcast protocols are effective means to disseminate Emergency messages(EMs)in Vehicular ad hoc networks(VANETs).However,Clear to broadcast(CTB)collision will happen and reduce propagation speed.Aiming at this problem,we propose a Black-burst and multi-channel based multihop broadcast(BMMB)protocol.Vehicles with multiple antennas can transmit and sense black-burst at different channels simultaneously based on multi-channel technology.Compared with existing black-burst based methods,BMMB shortens the iterative procedure to find out the optimal segment.Only one relay vehicle can be rapidly selected within the optimal segment without CTB collision.BMMB enables alternative broadcast methods,i.e.,unidirectional broadcast and multi-directional broadcast for straight roads and intersections respectively.Theoretical analysis is done for performance evaluation of BMMB,and simulation results demonstrate that BMMB performs better in terms of average one-hop delay and propagation speed.WU Libing NIE Lei FAN Jing HE Yanxiang LIU Qin WU Dan 2017Chinese Journal of Electronics2017,26,3:4
6Improved oxygen reduction reaction via a partially oxidized Co-CoO catalyst on N-doped carbon synthesized by a facile sand-bath method显示文摘High active and durable non-noble metal electrocatalysts are urgently developed to satisfy the high performance oxygen reduction reaction(ORR). We successfully synthesized Co-CoOx anchored on nitrogen-doped carbon via a facile sand-bath method(SBM), i.e., Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM). The as-obtained Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM) exhibited overwhelming superiorities to Co-CoO/N-C prepared by conventional heat treatment(CHT), particularly in electrochemical performance of ORR. Although Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM)showed smaller specific surface area of 276.8 m^2/g than that of 939.5 m^2/g from Co-CoO/N-C(CHT), the Co-CoOx/N-C(SBM) performed larger pore diameter and more Co_3O_4 active component resulting in better ORR performance in 0.1 mol/L KOH solution. The Co-CoO_x/N-C(SBM) delivered onset potential of 0.91 V vs. RHE, mid-wave potential of 0.85 V vs. RHE and limited current density of 5.46 mA/cm^2 much better than those of the Co-CoO/N-C(CHT). 8Defective ZnS nanoparticles anchored in situ on N-doped carbon as a superior oxygen reduction reaction catalyst显示文摘Defect engineering has been used to develop low-cost and effective catalysts to boost oxygen reduction reactions.However,the development of catalysts that use metal cation vacancies as the active sites for oxygen reduction reaction is lacking.In this study,ZnS nanoparticles on N-doped carbon serve as an oxygen reduction reaction catalyst.These catalysts were prepared via a one-step method at 900℃.Amazingly,the high-resolution transmission electron microscope image revealed obvious defects in the ZnS nanoparticles.These facilitated the catalyst synthesis,and the product displayed good electrocatalytic performance for the oxygen reduction reaction in an alkaline medium,including a lower onset potential,lower mid-wave potential,four electron transfer process,and better durability compared with 20 wt%Pt/C.More importantly,the density functional theory results indicated that using the Zn vacancies in the prepared catalyst as active sites required a lower reaction energy to produce OOH*from*OO toward oxygen reduction reaction.Therefore,the proposed catalyst with Zn vacancies can be used as a potential electrocatalyst and may be substitutes for Pt-based catalysts in fuel cells,given the novel catalyst’s resulting performance.Libing Hu Zengxi Wei Feng Yu Huifang Yuan Mincong Liu Gang Wang Bangfiua Peng Bin Dai Jianmin Ma 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,12:3
9Inhibitor of DNA binding 2 accelerates nerve regeneration after sciatic nerve injury in mice显示文摘Inhibitor of DNA binding 2(Id2)can promote axonal regeneration after injury of the central nervous system.However,whether Id2 can promote axonal regeneration and functional recovery after peripheral nerve injury is currently unknown.In this study,we established a mouse model of bilateral sciatic nerve crush injury.Two weeks before injury,AAV9-Id2-3×Flag-GFP was injected stereotaxically into the bilateral ventral horn of lumbar spinal cord.Our results showed that Id2 was successfully delivered into spinal cord motor neurons projecting to the sciatic nerve,and the number of regenerated motor axons in the sciatic nerve distal to the crush site was increased at 2 weeks after injury,arriving at the tibial nerve and reinnervating a few endplates in the gastrocnemius muscle.By 1 month after injury,extensive neuromuscular reinnervation occurred.In addition,the amplitude of compound muscle action potentials of the gastrocnemius muscle was markedly recovered,and their latency was shortened.These findings suggest that Id2 can accelerate axonal regeneration,promote neuromuscular reinnervation,and enhance functional improvement following sciatic nerve injury.Therefore,elevating the level of Id2 in adult neurons may present a promising strategy for peripheral nerve repair following injury.The study was approved by the Experimental Animal Ethics Committee of Jinan University(approval No.20160302003)on March 2,2016.Zhong-Hai Huang Ai-Ying Feng Jing Liu Libing Zhou Bing Zhou Panpan Yu 2021Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,12:2
10Efficient purification of Al_(30) by organic complexation method显示文摘A method was developed for preparing high purity Al30O8(OH)56(H2O)_(24)^(18)+(Al30) through elimination of impurities by complexation.Polyaluminum chloride II(PAC_(30))with Al_(c )content of 75%was adopted as the source of Al_(30).The PAC_(30)was prepared under conditions of total aluminum concentration 0.1 mol/L and OH^-/Al ratio 2.2 to obtain the highest content of Al_(30).A precipitation/metathesis method,organic solvent precipitation method and organic complexation method were examined to separate and purify Al_(30).It was found that only by the organic complexation method could high purity Al_(30)products be obtained in large yield economically.In the experiments,benzoic acid was used as the coordinating reagent to decompose the main impurity AlO_4Al_(12)(OH)_(24)(H_2O)_(12)^(7+)(Al_(13)),and the Al_(30)product could be obtained by precipitation and metathesis operations.It was noteworthy that the decomposition of impurities by benzoic acid could be completed in 2 hr.The Al_(30)product was characterized by Ferron assay,^(27)Al-NMR,SEM,XRD and TGA.The results showed that the purity of the Al_(30)product could exceed 92%.Libing Liu Qinxue Yang Pin Wang Feng Xiao Ruyuan Jiao Guangyu An Dongsheng Wang 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,6:2

12An Improved Markov Chain Model Based on Autocorrelation and Entropy Techniques and Its Application to State Prediction of Water Resources显示文摘According to the relationships among state transition probability matrixes with different step lengths, an improved Markov chain model based on autocorrelation and entropy techniques was introduced. In the improved Markov chain model, the state transition probability matrixes can be adjusted. The steps of the historical state of the event, which was significantly related to the future state of the event, were determined by the autocorrelation technique, and the impact weights of the event historical state on the event future state were determined by the entropy technique. The presented model was applied to predicting annual precipitation and annual runoff states, showing that the improved model is of higher precision than those existing Markov chain models, and the determination of the state transition probability matrixes and the weights is more reasonable. 13Transcriptome and physiological analyses provide insights into the leaf epicuticular wax accumulation mechanism in yellowhorn显示文摘Plantations and production of yellowhorn,one of the most important woody oil and urban greening trees widely cultivated in northern China,have gradually become limited by drought stress.The epicuticular wax layer plays a key role in the protection of yellowhorn trees from drought and other stresses.However,there is no research on the mechanism of wax loading in yellowhorn trees.In this study,we investigated the anatomical and physiological characteristics of leaves from different germplasm resources and different parts of the same tree and compared their cuticle properties.In addition,the different expression patterns of genes involved in wax accumulation were analyzed,and a coexpression network was built based on transcriptome sequencing data.Morphological and physiological comparisons found that the sun leaves from the outer part of the crown had thicker epicuticular wax,which altered the permeability and improved the drought resistance of leaves,than did shade leaves.Based on transcriptome data,a total of 3008 and 1324 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified between the sun leaves and shade leaves in glossy-and non-glossy-type germplasm resources,respectively.We identified 138 DEGs involved in wax biosynthesis and transport,including structural genes(such as LACS8,ECH1,and ns-LTP)and transcription factors(such as MYB,WRKY,and bHLH transcription factor family proteins).The coexpression network showed a strong correlation between these DEGs.The differences in gene expression patterns between G-and NG-type germplasm resources under different light conditions were very clear.These results not only provide a theoretical basis for screening and developing drought-resistant yellowhorn germplasm resources but also provide a data platform to reveal the wax accumulation process of yellowhorn leaves.Yang Zhao Xiaojuan Liu Mengke Wang Quanxin Bi Yifan Cui Libing Wang 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:2

17Oligo(p-phenylenevinylene)-rhodium complex as intracellular catalyst for enhancing biosynthesis of polyhydroxybutyrate biomaterials显示文摘Microbial synthesis utilizes sustainable resources to produce valuable chemicals,as a potential alternative to petroleum-based chemical industry.Although metabolic engineering is an efficient method to enhance the biosynthesis efficacy of microorganisms,it requires complicated biological procedures.Herein,we report a facile intracellular catalysis system for augmenting the production of bio-based material in microorganism.Covalent linking of oligo(p-phenylenevinylene)(OPV)and cyclopentadienyl rhodium(Ⅲ)bipyridine offers intracellular metal catalyst(OPV-Rh).The OPV-Rh complex displayed certain resistance to toxic biomolecules,which guaranteed its catalytic activity in complicated biological systems.With uptake by Gramnegative bacterium Ralstonia eutropha H16(R.eutropha H16),the OPV-Rh complex promotes the transformation of intracellular NADP+to NADPH,which further enhances the biosynthesis of polyhydroxybutyrate(PHB)by this microorganism.This work demonstrates that synthetic metal catalyst can be employed for regulating microbial biosynthesis intracellularly.Nan Dai Hao Zhao Wen Yu Fengting Lv Libing Liu Shu Wang 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,1:2

In this mini-review, we mainly introduced the applications of CCPs in detection and inactivation of pathogen with typical examples, and also briefly discussed the relevant mechanisms. 20Design of antibacterial peptide-like conjugated molecule with broad spectrum antimicrobial ability显示文摘Increasing multidrug-resistant(MDR) superbugs emerge worldwide causing a public health crisis. Consequently, it is urgent to find new antibiotics with efficient broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. By virtue of versatility in molecular design, a new peptide-like cell membrane-broken molecule, oligo-(7,7′-bifluoren-benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole)(OFBT) possessing a conjugated backbone and eight pendant guanidyl moieties was designed and synthesized. OFBT exhibits favorable broad-spectrum of antimicrobial activity to pathogens including Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, and fungi with the minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)below 3.0 μM.
