2Optimal power allocation for secure directional modulation networks with a full-duplex UAV user显示文摘This paper makes an investigation of a secure unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)-aided communication network based on directional modulation(DM). In this network, ground base station(GBS) acts as a control center to transmit confidential message and artificial noise(AN). The UAV user, moving along a linear flight trajectory, is intended to receive the useful information from GBS. At the same time, it also sends AN signals to further interference eavesdropper’s channel. Aiming at maximizing secrecy rate during the UAV flight process, a joint optimization problem is formulated with respect to power allocation(PA)factors, beamforming vector and AN projection matrices. For simplicity, maximum rate transmission, nullspace projection and the leakage-based method are applied to form the transmit beamforming vector, AN projection matrix at GBS, and AN projection vector at UAV user, respectively. Following this, the optimization problem reduces to a bivariate optimization programme with two PA factors. An alternating iterative algorithm(AIA) is proposed to optimize the two PA factors. 3Overexpression of miR-101 suppresses collagen synthesis by targeting EZH2 in hypertrophic scar fibroblasts显示文摘Background:MicroRNA-101(miR-101)is a tumor suppressor microRNA(miRNA)and its loss is associated with the occurrence and progression of various diseases.However,the biological function and target of miR-101 in the pathogenesis of hypertrophic scars(HS)remains unknown.Methods:We harvested HS and paired normal skin(NS)tissue samples from patients and cultured their fibroblasts(HSF and NSF,respectively).We used quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH),enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISA)and Western blot analyses to measure mRNA levels and protein expression of miR-101,enhancer of zeste homolog 2(EZH2),collagen 1 and 3(Col1 and Col3)andα-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)in different in vitro conditions.We also used RNA sequencing to evaluate the relevant signaling pathways and bioinformatics analysis and dual-luciferase reporter assays to predict miR-101 targets.We utilized a bleomycin-induced fibrosis mouse model in which we injected miR-101 mimics to evaluate collagen deposition in vivo.Results:We found low expression of miR-101 in HS and HSF compared to NS and NSF.Overexpressing miR-101 decreased Col1,Col3 andα-SMA expression in HSF.We detected high expression of EZH2 in HS and HSF.Knockdown of EZH2 decreased Col1,Col3 andα-SMA in HSF.Mechanistically,miR-101 targeted the 3-untranslated region(3UTR)of EZH2,as indicated by the decreased expression of EZH2.Overexpressing EZH2 rescued miR-101-induced collagen repression.MiR-101 mimics effectively suppressed collagen deposition in the bleomycin-induced fibrosis mouse model.Conclusions:Our data reveal that miR-101 targets EZH2 in HS collagen production,providing new insight into the pathological mechanisms underlying HS formation.Jie Li Yan Li Yunchuan Wang Xiang He Jing Wang Weixia Cai Yanhui Jia Dan Xiao Jian Zhang Ming Zhao Kuo Shen Zichao Li Wenbin Jia Kejia Wang Yue Zhang Linlin Su Huayu Zhu Dahai Hu 2021Burns & Trauma2021,9,1:3
4NLRP3 Deficiency Attenuates Secondary Degeneration of Visual Cortical Neurons Following Optic Nerve Injury显示文摘In the visual pathway, optic nerve(ON) injury may cause secondary degeneration of neurons in distal regions, such as the visual cortex. However, the role of the neuroinflammatory response in regulating secondary impairment in the visual cortex after ON injury remains unclear. The NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3) is an important regulator of neuroinflammation. In this study, we established a mouse model of unilateral ON crush(ONC) and showed that the expression of NLRP3 was significantly increased in the primary visual cortex(V1) as a response to ONC and that the NLRP3 inflammasome was activated in the contralateral V1 1 days–14 days after ONC. Ablation of the NLRP3 gene significantly decreased the trans-neuronal degeneration within 14 days. Visual electrophysiological function was improved in NLRP3-/- mice. 12Natural interface-mediated self-assembly of graphene-isolatednanocrystals for plasmonic arrays construction and personalized information acquisition显示文摘As Interface mediated self-assembly of nanocrystals provide excellent strategy for sensing,catalysis or photonics,the construction of innovative interfaces and development of versatile strategies for nanocrystal synthesis are urgently needed.Herein,latent fingerprints(LFPs),the most common markers for human identity,are used as naturally accessible interface for organization of graphene isolated nanocrystals(GINs).Excitingly,the selective adsorption of GINs on lipidic ridge provides a universal approach for the in-situ construction of the plasmonic arrays.Such system with intrinsic chrominance and Raman signal enables the high resolution colorimetric and surfaced-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)dual-mode imaging,which can detail the structures of the LFPs from 1st to 3rd level even the LFPs are shielded.Furthermore,the interface can be constructed on diverse materials by a simple finger-pressing process and the densely packed arrays can serve as superior SERS substrate for label-free,non-invasive acquisition of molecule information especially residues in LFPs.The combination of chemical composition with detailed structures efficiently recognizes the human identity and could help link it to a crime scene.Overall,the LFPs can act as natural platform for interface mediated localized assembly and personalized information acquisition for forensic science or precise medicine.Shen Wang Tianhuan Peng Shengkai Li Linlin Wang Liang Zhang Zhiwei Yin Xin Xia Xinqi Cai Xiaoxu Cao Long Chen Zhuo Chen Weihong Tan 2022Nano Research2022,15,10:1

14Necessity and proper way of intermediate kissing balloon dilation for culotte stenting: further insights from bench testing显示文摘Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate whether intermediate kissing balloon dilation(IKBD) is necessary during mini-culotte stenting(MCS) and how it can be properly conducted. Methods: MCS was emulated in a bifurcation model with a branch diameter difference(BDD) in three-step sizes of 0.50, 0.75 and 1.00 mm, and with intermediate balloon dilation(IBD) in three treatments of routine intermediate solo balloon dilation(rISBD), concurrent IKBD(cIKBD) or sequential IKBD. Microcomputed tomography was performed to assess stent under-expansion(SUE) around the polygon of confluence(POC), residual ostial stenosis(ROS) at the ostial side-branch(SB) and main-branch(MB) and stent cell distortion(SCD) in the bifurcation segments. Results: There were both main and interactive effects of IBD and BDD on ROS at the ostial SB and SCD in the ostial SB, but there were only main effects of IBD or BDD on SUE around the POC, ROS at the ostial MB and SCD in the ostial MB. Analysis of the main effects showed that SUE around the POC or ROS at the ostial SB was significantly different between sI KBD and rISBD and between cI KBD and rISBD. There was also a significant difference in SCD in the ostial SB between sI KBD and rI SBD and between sI KBD and cIKBD. Analysis of the interactive effects showed that ROS at the ostial SB or SCD in the ostial SB was affected by all IBD treatments in all BDD step-sizes. Moreover, increasing the BDD step-sizes significantly increased ROS at the ostial SB as treated by rISBD and SCD in the ostial SB as treated by rISBD or cIKBD. 15Biofilm removal mediated by Salmonella phages from chicken-related source显示文摘Salmonella and their biofilm formation are the primary bacterial causes of foodborne outbreaks and crosscontamination. The objective of the study was to investigate the potential of Salmonella phages as an alternative technology for biofilm removal. In this work, 21 Salmonella phages were isolated from a chicken farm and slaughter plant and the phage(CW1)with the broadest spectrum was characterized. Complete genome sequence analysis revealed that the genomes of phage CW1 is composed of 41 763 bp with 58 open reading frames(ORFs)and a holin-endolysin system and it does not encode any virulence or lysogeny. A phage cocktail consisted of CW1(with the broadest spectrum of 70.49%)and CW11, M4 and M10(with a high lytic activity of more than 67.11%)was established. Treatment with the cocktail reduced the cells in the developing biofilm and mature biofilm by 0.79 lg(CFU/cm~2)and 0.4 lg(CFU/cm~2), respectively. More dead cells and scattered extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)were observed by confocal laser scanning microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Raman analysis found that carbohydrates and proteins were the identification receptors for scattered EPS. 17Autoinhibitory structure of preligand association state implicates a new strategy to attain effective DR5 receptor activation显示文摘Members of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily(TNFRSF)are important therapeutic targets that can be activated to induce death of cancer cells or stimulate proliferation of immune cells.Although it has long been implicated that these receptors assemble preligand associated states that are required for dominant interference in human disease,such states have so far eluded structural characterization.Here,we find that the ectodomain of death receptor 5(DR5-ECD),a representative member of TNFRSF,can specifically self-associate when anchored to lipid bilayer,and we report this self-association structure determined by nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR).Unexpectedly,two non-overlapping interaction interfaces are identified that could propagate to higher-order clusters.Structure-guided mutagenesis indicates that the observed preligand association structure is represented on DR5-expressing cells.The DR5 preligand association serves an autoinhibitory role as single-domain antibodies(sdAbs)that partially dissociate the preligand cluster can sensitize the receptor to its ligand TRAIL and even induce substantial receptor signaling in the absence of TRAIL.Unlike most agonistic antibodies that require multivalent binding to aggregate receptors for activation,these agonistic sdAbs are monovalent and act specifically on an oligomeric,autoinhibitory configuration of the receptor.Our data indicate that receptors such as DR5 can form structurally defined preclusters incompatible with signaling and that true agonists should disrupt the preligand cluster while converting it to signaling-productive cluster.This mechanism enhances our understanding of a long-standing question in TNFRSF signaling and suggests a new opportunity for developing agonistic molecules by targeting receptor preligand clustering.Gang Du Linlin Zhao Yumei Zheng Anissa Belfetmi Tiantian Cai Boying Xu Karen Heyninck Kim Van Den Heede Marie-Ange Buyse Pietro Fontana Michael Bowman Lih-Ling Lin Hao Wu James Jeiwen Chou 2023Cell Research2023,33,2:0

19Fully-exposed Pt clusters stabilized on Sn-decorated nanodiamond/graphene hybrid support for efficient ethylbenzene direct dehydrogenation显示文摘The pursuit of energy conservation and environmental protection has always been a hot topic in the catalytic fields,which is inseparable from the rational designing of efficient catalysts and an in-depth understanding of the catalytic reaction mechanism.In this work,fully-exposed Pt clusters were fabricated on the atomically dispersed Sn decorated nanodiamond/graphene(Sn-ND@G)hybrid support and employed for direct dehydrogenation(DDH)of ethylbenzene(EB)to styrene(ST).The detailed structural characterizations revealed the fully-exposed Pt clusters were stabilized on Sn-ND@G,assisted by the spatial separation of atomically dispersed Sn species.The as-prepared Pt/Sn-ND@G catalyst showed enhanced ST yield(136.2 molEB·molpt-1·h-1 EB conversion rate and 99.7%ST selectivity)and robust long-term stability at 500℃for the EB DDH reaction,compared with the traditional ND@G supported Pt nanoparticle catalyst(Pt/ND@G).The ST prefers to desorb from the fully-exposed Pt clusters,resulting in the enhanced DDH catalytic performance of the Pt/Sn-ND@G catalyst.The present work paves a new way for designing highly dispersed and stable supported metal catalysts for DDH reactions.Linlin Wang Xuetao Qin Ting Sun Xiangbin Cai Mi Peng Zhimin Jia Xiaowen Chen Ning Wang Jiangyong Diao Hongyang Liu Ding Ma 2022Nano Research2022,15,12:0
20Potential responses of vegetation to atmospheric aerosols in arid and semi-arid regions of Asia显示文摘Changes in atmospheric aerosols have profound effects on ecosystem productivity,vegetation growth and activity by directly and indirectly influencing climate and environment conditions.However,few studies have focused on the effects of atmospheric aerosols on vegetation growth and activity in the vulnerable arid and semi-arid regions,which are also the source areas of aerosols.Using the datasets of aerosol optical depth(AOD),normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)and multiple climatic variables including photosynthetically active radiation(PAR),surface solar radiation(SSR),surface air temperature(TEM)and total precipitation(PRE),we analyzed the potential responses of vegetation activity to atmospheric aerosols and their associated climatic factors in arid and semi-arid regions of Asia from 2005 to 2015.Our results suggested that areas with decreasing growing-season NDVI were mainly observed in regions with relatively sparse vegetation coverage,while AOD tended to increase as NDVI decreased in these regions.Upon further analysis,we found that aerosols might exert a negative influence on vegetation activity by reducing SSR,PAR and TEM,as well as suppressing PRE in most arid and semi-arid regions of Asia.Moreover,the responses of atmospheric aerosols on vegetation activity varied among different growing stages.At the early growing stage,higher concentration of aerosol was accompanied with suppressed vegetation growth by enhancing cooling effects and reducing SSR and PAR.At the middle growing stage,aerosols tended to alter microphysical properties of clouds with suppressed PRE,thereby restricting vegetation growth.At the late growing stage,aerosols exerted significantly positive influences on vegetation activity by increasing SSR,PAR and TEM in regions with high anthropogenic aerosols.Overall,at different growing stages,aerosols could influence vegetation activity by changing different climatic factors including SSR,PAR,TEM and PRE in arid and semi-arid regions of Asia.This study not only clarifies the impacts of aerosols on vegetation activity in source areas,but also explains the roles of aerosols in climate.JIAO Linlin WANG Xunming CAI Diwen HUA Ting 2021Journal of Arid Land2021,13,5:0
