4Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 5The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 6Developmental changes in intercellular junctions and Kv channels in the intestine of piglets during the suckling and post-weaning periods显示文摘Background: The intestinal epithelium is an important barrier that depends on a complex mixture of proteins and these proteins comprise different intercellular junctions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the postnatal and developmental changes in morphology, intercellular junctions and voltage-gated potassium(Kv) channels in the intestine of piglets during the suckling and post-weaning periods.Results: Samples of the small intestine were obtained from 1-, 7-, 14-, and 21-d-old suckling piglets and piglets on d 1, 3, 5, and 7 after weaning at 14 d of age. The results showed that the percentage of proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)-positive cells and alkaline phosphatase(AKP) activity, as well as the abundances of E-cadherin,occludin, and Kv1.5 m RNA and claudin-1, claudin-3, and occludin protein in the jejunum were increased from d 1to d 21 during the suckling period(P < 0.05). Weaning induced decreases in the percentage of PCNA-positive cells,AKP activity and the abundances of E-cadherin, occludin and zonula occludens(ZO)-1 m RNA or protein in the jejunum on d 1, 3 and 5 post-weaning(P < 0.05). There were lower abundances of E-cadherin, occludin and ZO-1m RNA as well as claudin-1, claudin-3 and ZO-1 protein in the jejunum of weanling piglets than in 21-d-old suckling piglets(P < 0.05). The abundances of E-cadherin, occludin, ZO-1 and integrin m RNA were positively related to the percentage of PCNA-positive cells.Conclusion: Weaning at 14 d of age induced damage to the intestinal morphology and barrier. 7The Medium Energy X-ray telescope (ME) onboard the Insight-HXMT astronomy satellite显示文摘The Medium Energy X-ray telescope(ME) is one of the three main telescopes on board the Insight hard X-ray modulation telescope(Insight-HXMT) astronomy satellite. ME contains 1728 pixels of Si-PIN detectors sensitive in 5-30 ke V with a total geometrical area of 952 cm^2. The application specific integrated circuit(ASIC) chip, VA32TA6, is used to achieve low power consumption and low readout noise. The collimators define three kinds of field of views(FOVs) for the telescope, 1°×4°, 4°×4°,and blocked ones. Combination of such FOVs can be used to estimate the in-orbit X-ray and particle background components.The energy resolution of ME is ~3 ke V at 17.8 ke V(FWHM) and the time resolution is 255 μs. 9Sequential slip transfer of mixed-character dislocations across Σ3 coherent twin boundary in FCC metals: a concurrent atomistic-continuum study显示文摘Sequential slip transfer across grain boundaries(GB)has an important role in size-dependent propagation of plastic deformation in polycrystalline metals.For example,the Hall–Petch effect,which states that a smaller average grain size results in a higher yield stress,can be rationalised in terms of dislocation pile-ups against GBs.In spite of extensive studies in modelling individual phases and grains using atomistic simulations,well-accepted criteria of slip transfer across GBs are still lacking,as well as models of predicting irreversible GB structure evolution.Slip transfer is inherently multiscale since both the atomic structure of the boundary and the long-range fields of the dislocation pile-up come into play.In this work,concurrent atomistic-continuum simulations are performed to study sequential slip transfer of a series of curved dislocations from a given pile-up onΣ3 coherent twin boundary(CTB)in Cu and Al,with dominant leading screw character at the site of interaction.A Frank-Read source is employed to nucleate dislocations continuously.It is found that subject to a shear stress of 1.2 GPa,screw dislocations transfer into the twinned grain in Cu,but glide on the twin boundary plane in Al.Moreover,four dislocation/CTB interaction modes are identified in Al,which are affected by(1)applied shear stress,(2)dislocation line length,and(3)dislocation line curvature.Our results elucidate the discrepancies between atomistic simulations and experimental observations of dislocation-GB reactions and highlight the importance of directly modeling sequential dislocation slip transfer reactions using fully 3D models.Shuozhi Xu Liming Xiong Youping Chen David L McDowell 2016npj Computational Materials2016,,1:4
10Mussel‑Inspired Redox‑Active and Hydrophilic Conductive Polymer Nanoparticles for Adhesive Hydrogel Bioelectronics显示文摘Conductive polymers(CPs)are generally insoluble,and developing hydrophilic CPs is significant to broaden the applications of CPs.In this work,a mussel-inspired strategy was proposed to construct hydrophilic CP nanoparticles(CP NPs),while endowing the CP NPs with redox activity and biocompatibility.This is a universal strategy applicable for a series of CPs,including polyaniline,polypyrrole,and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene).The catechol/quinone contained sulfonated lignin(LS)was doped into various CPs to form CP/LS NPs with hydrophilicity,conductivity,and redox activity.These CP/LS NPs were used as versatile nanofillers to prepare the conductive hydrogels with long-term adhesiveness.The CP/LS NPs-incorporated hydrogels have a good conductivity because of the uniform distribution of the hydrophilic NPs in the hydrogel network,forming a well-connected electric path.The hydrogel exhibits long-term adhesiveness,which is attributed to the mussel-inspired dynamic redox balance of catechol/quinone groups on the CP/LS NPs.This conductive and adhesive hydrogel shows good electroactivity and biocompatibility and therefore has broad applications in electrostimulation of tissue regeneration and implantable bioelectronics.Donglin Gan Tao Shuai Xiao Wang Ziqiang Huang Fuzeng Ren Liming Fang Kefeng Wang Chaoming Xie Xiong Lu 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,12:4

12LOWER TEMPERATURE 1 Enhances ABA Responses and Plant Drought Tolerance by Modulating the Stability and Localization of C2-Domain ABA-Related Proteins in Arabidopsis显示文摘Plasma membrane-associated abscisic acid(ABA)signal transduction is an integral part of ABA signaling.The C2-domain ABA-related(CAR)proteins play important roles in the recruitment of ABA receptors to the plasma membrane to facilitate ABA signaling.However,how CAR proteins are regulated remains unclear.In this study,we conducted a genetic screen for mutants with altered leaf transpiration and identified an uncharacterized protein,LOWER TEMPERATURE 1(LOT1),which regulates the dynamic localization and stability of CAR proteins.The lotimutant had a lower leaf temperature as compared with the wild type due to higher transpiration.We found that LOT1 physically interacts with CAR9,and ABA reduces LOT1-CAR9 interaction in the nucleus,likely via Ca^2+,resulting in increased localization of CAR9 to the plasma membrane.We further found that the stability of CAR9 is affected by LOT1 less CAR9 proteins were accumulated and more were ubiquitinated in lot1.While the lot1 car9 and/of f car9 mutants were hyposerisitive to ABA,the hyposensitive phenotype of loticould be rescued by CAR9 overexpression.Collectively,our study reveals that LOT1 regulates plant tolerance to drought stress by affecting ABA signaling through regulating the stability and dynamic localization of CAR9.Tao Qin Qiuzhen Tian Guifeng Wang Liming Xiong 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,9:2
13Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 14Defect passivation by nontoxic biomaterial yields 21% efficiency perovskite solar cells显示文摘Defect passivation is one of the most important strategies to boost both the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells(PSCs).Here,nontoxic and sustainable forest-based biomaterial,betulin,is first introduced into perovskites.The experiments and calculations reveal that betulin can effectively passivate the uncoordinated lead ions in perovskites via sharing the lone pair electrons of hydroxyl group,promoting charge transport.As a result,the power conversion efficiencies of the p-i-n planar PSCs remarkably increase from 19.14%to 21.15%,with the improvement of other parameters.The hydrogen bonds of betulin lock methylamine and halogen ions along the grain boundaries and on the film surface and thus suppress ion migration,further stabilizing perovskite crystal structures.These positive effects enable the PSCs to maintain 90%of the initial efficiency after 30 days in ambient air with 60%±5%relative humidity,75%after 300 h aging at 85℃,and 55%after 250 h light soaking,respectively.This work opens a new pathway for using nontoxic and low-cost biomaterials from forest to make highly efficient and stable PSCs.Shaobing Xiong Tianyu Hao Yuyun Sun Jianming Yang Ruru Ma Jiulong Wang Shijing Gong Xianjie Liu Liming Ding Mats Fahlman Qinye Bao 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,4:2
15One-dimensional iron oxides nanostructures显示文摘Iron oxides,including α-Fe2O3,γ-Fe2O3,Fe3O4,etc.are one of the most widely investigated materials for their fundamental properties and potential applications.One-dimensional(1-D) iron oxides nanostructures are the focus of recent research activities because of their wide applications in magnetic refrigeration,information storage,electronics,catalysts,Li-ion battery,pigment,gas sensors,etc.This review covers the recent progress in the synthesis,properties and applications of 1-D iron oxides nanostructures.The paper begins with the introduction to 1-D iron oxides nanostructures,followed by the typical synthetic methods developed for the synthesis of 1-D iron oxides nanostructures.Then,the typical 1-D iron oxides nanostructures,including nanowires/nanorods,nanotubes,nanobelts,nanochains,and special 3-D structures built on 1-D building blocks,are introduced in detail.The properties of 1-D iron oxides nanostructures are then discussed,focusing on the magnetic,gas sensing,and electrochemical and photocatalytic properties.Finally,we draw conclusions and look at the prospects of 1-D iron oxides nanostructures.CHEN Di XIONG Shi RAN SiHan LIU Bin WANG LiMing SHEN GuoZhen 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,7:2
16Surface Passivation and Energetic Modification Suppress Nonradiative Recombination in Perovskite Solar Cells显示文摘Surface passivation via post-treatment is an important strategy for improving power conversion efficiency and operational stability of perovskite solar cells.However,so far the interaction mechanisms between passivating additive and perovskite are not well understood.Here,we report the atomic-scale interaction of surface passivating additive 2,2-difluoroethylammonium bromine(2FEABr)on the MAPbI_(3).It is found that the bulky 2FEA+cations tend to distribute at film surface,while the Br−anions diffuse from surface into bulk.A combination of 19F,207Pb,and 2H solid-state NMR further reveal the Br−anions’partial substitution for the I−sites,the restricted motion of partial MA+cations,and the firmed perovskite lattices,which would improve charge transport and stability of the perovskite films.Optical spectroscopy and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy demonstrate that the 2FEABr induced surface passivation and energetic modification suppress the nonradiative recombination loss.These findings enable the efficiency of the p-i-n structured PSC significantly increasing from 19.44 to 21.06%,accompanied by excellent stability.Our work further establishes more knowledge link between passivating additive and PSC performance.Wei Dong Wencheng Qiao Shaobing Xiong Jianming Yang Xuelu Wang Liming Ding Yefeng Yao Qinye Bao 2022Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,7:2

18Design and preparation of gradient graphite/cermets self-lubricating composites显示文摘Based on the functionally graded materials(FGMs) design concept,the laminated-graded graphite/cermets self-lubricating composite was prepared to achieve the integration of mechanical properties and lubrication performance of the cermet.The effects of the layer number and thickness of graded structure on residual stresses in the gradient composites were investigated by finite element method(FEM).From the FEM analyses,the optimal gradient structure design was obtained corresponding to the following parameters: the number of graded layers n = 2 and the thickness of graded structure t = 1 mm.According to the optimum design,a graded graphite/cermets self-lubricating material with two layers was fabricated by a typical powder metallurgy technique.Compared with the homogenous graphite/cermets composite,the surface hardness and indentation fracture toughness of graded composite were increased by approximately 15.9% and 6.3%,respectively.The results of X-ray diffraction(XRD)stress measurement identified the existence of residual compressive stress on the surface of graded composite.Additionally,the friction and wear tests revealed that the wear resistance of the graphite/cermets self-lubricating composite was improved significantly via the graded structural design,whereas the coefficient of friction changed slightly.Liming Zhou Ji Xiong Zhixing Guo Junliu Ye 2018Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,8:1
