| 2 | Polypropylene Separators with Robust Mussel-inspired Coatings for High Lithium-ion Battery Performances显示文摘The performances of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)are dependent on the wettability and stability of porous separators.Musselinspired coatings seem to be useful to improve the surface wettability of commercialized polyolefin separators.However,it is still a challenge to guarantee their stability under polar electrolytes.Herein,we report a facile and versatile way to enhance the wettability and stability of polypropylene separators by constructing robust polydopamine(PDA)coatings triggered with CuSO4/H2O2.These coatings were conveniently deposited on the polypropylene separator surfaces and the PDA-coated separators exhibited the improved surface wettability and thermal stability.The electrolyte uptake increased nearly two folds from the pristine separator to the modified ones.Correspondingly,the ionic conductivity also rose from 0.82 mS·cm^-1 to 1.30 mS·cm^-1.Most importantly,the CuSO4/H2O2-triggered PDA coatings were very stable under strong polar electrolytes,endowing the cells with excellent cycle performance and enhanced C-rate capacity.Overall,the results unequivocally demonstrate that application of PDA coatings on polyolefin separator triggered by CuSO4/H2O2 is a facile and efficient method for improving the wettability and stability of separators for high LIBs performance. | Chao Zhang Hong-Qing Liang Jun-Ke Pi Guang-Peng Wu Zhi-Kang Xu | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2019,37,10: | 5 |

| 16 | Intersected functional zone of transcriptional regulators patterns stemness within stem cell niche of root apical meristem显示文摘Root stem cell niche(SCN)consists of a quiescent center(QC)and surrounding stem cells.Disrupted symplastic communication leads to loss of stemness in the whole SCN.Several SCN regulators were reported to move between cells for SCN main-tenance.However,single mutant of these regulators is insu?cient to abolish QC stemness despite the high differentiation rate in surrounding stem cells.To dis-sect the mechanism behind such distinct stemness in SCN,we combined the mis-expression strategy with pWOX5:icals3m system in which QC is symplastically isolated.We found the starch accumulation in QC could be synergistically repressed by WUSCHEL-RE-LATED HOMEOBOX 5(WOX5),SHORT-ROOT(SHR),SCARCROW(SCR),and PLETHORA(PLT).Like PLTs,other core regulators also exhibited dimorphicfunctions by inhibiting differentiation at a higher dose while promoting cell division at a low protein level.Being located in the center of the intersected ex-pression zones,QC cells receive the highest level of core regulators,forming the most robust stemness within SCN.WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMEOBOX 5 was su?cient to activate PLT1/2 expression,contributing to the QC-enriched PLTs.Our results provide ex-perimental evidence supporting the long-standing hypothesis that the combination of spatial ex-pression,synergistic function and dosage effect of core regulators result in spatially distinct stemness in SCN. | Meizhi Xu Xu Gu Nengsong Liang Xinxin Bian Hong Wang Yaxin Qin Limin Pi Shuang Wu | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,7: | 1 |
