2A preliminary analysis of the surface chemistry of atmospheric aerosol particles in a typical urban area of Beijing显示文摘Atmospheric aerosol particle samples were collected using an Ambient Eight Stage(Non-Viable) Cascade Impactor Sampler in a typical urban area of Beijing from 27 th Sep.to 5th Oct.,2009.The surface chemistry of these aerosol particles was analyzed using Static Time of Flight-Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry(Static TOF-SIMS).The factors influencing surface compositions were evaluated in conjunction with the air pollution levels,meteorological factors,and air mass transport for the sampling period.The results show that a variety of organic ion groups and inorganic ions/ion groups were accumulated on the surfaces of aerosol particles in urban areas of Beijing;and hydrophobic organic compounds with short-or middle-chain alkyl as well as hydrophilic secondary inorganic compounds were observed.All these compounds have the potential to affect the atmospheric behavior of urban aerosol particles.PM1.1–2.1and PM3.3–4.7had similar elements on their surfaces,but some molecules and ionic groups demonstrated differences in Time of Flight-Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry spectra.This suggests that the quantities of elements varied between PM1.1–2.1and PM3.3–4.7.In particular,more intense research efforts into fluoride pollution are required,because the fluorides on aerosol surfaces have the potential to harm human health.The levels of air pollution had the most significant influence on the surface compositions of aerosol particles in our study.Hence,heavier air pollution was associated with more complex surface compositions on aerosol particles.In addition,wind,rainfall,and air masses from the south also greatly influenced the surface compositions of these urban aerosol particles.Zhengzheng Zhang Hong Li Hongyan Liu Runxiang Ni Jinjuan Li Liqun Deng Defeng Lu Xueli Cheng Pengli Duan Wenjun Li 2016Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,9:5
3Cyst(e)ine in nutrition formulation promotes colon cancer growth and chemoresistance by activating mTORCl and scavenging ROS显示文摘Weight loss and cachexia are common problems in colorectal cancer patients;thus,parenteral and enteral nutrition support play important roles in cancer care.However,the impact of nonessential amino acid components of nutritional intake on cancer progression has not been fully studied.In this study,we discovered that gastrointestinal cancer patients who received cysteine as part of the parenteral nutrition had shorter overall survival(P<0.001)than those who did not.Cystine indeed robustly promotes colon cancer cell growth in vitro and in immunodeficient mice,predominately by inhibiting SESN2 transcription via the GCN2-ATF4 axis,resulting in mTORCl activation.mTORCl inhibitors Rapamycin and Everolimus block cystine-induced cancer cell proliferation.In addition,cystine confers resistance to oxaliplatin and irinotecan chemotherapy by quenching chemotherapy-induced reactive oxygen species via synthesizing glutathione.We demonstrated that dietary deprivation of cystine suppressed colon cancer xenograft growth without weight loss in mice and boosted the antitumor effect of oxaliplatin.These findings indicate that cyst(e)ine;as part of supplemental nutrition,plays an important role in colorectal cancer and manipulation of cyst(e)ine content in nutritional formulations may optimize colorectal cancer patient survival.Jiao Wu Sai-Ching Jim Yeung Sicheng Liu Aiham Qdaisat Dewei Jiang Wenli Liu Zhuo Cheng Wenjing Liu Haixia Wang Lu Li Zhongmei Zhou Rong Liu Chuanyu Yang Ceshi Chen Runxiang Yang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,6:2

5FBXW7βloss-of-function enhances FASN-mediated lipogenesis and promotes colorectal cancer growth显示文摘Continuous de novo fatty acid synthesis is required for the biosynthetic demands of tumor.FBXW7 is a highly mutated gene in CRC,but its biological functions in cancer are not fully characterized.Here,we report that FBXW7β,a FBXW7 isoform located in the cytoplasm and frequently mutated in CRC,is an E3 ligase of fatty acid synthase(FASN).Cancer-specific FBXW7βmutations that could not degrade FASN can lead to sustained lipogenesis in CRC.COP9 signalosome subunit 6(CSN6),an oncogenic marker of CRC,increases lipogenesis via interacting with and stabilizing FASN.Mechanistic studies show that CSN6 associates with both FBXW7βand FASN,and antagonizes FBXW7β’s activity by enhancing FBXW7βautoubiquitination and degradation,which in turn prevents FBXW7β-mediated FASN ubiquitination and degradation,thereby regulating lipogenesis positively.Both CSN6 and FASN are positively correlated in CRC,and CSN6-FASN axis,regulated by EGF,is responsible for poor prognosis of CRC.The EGF-CSN6-FASN axis promotes tumor growth and implies a treatment strategy of combination of orlistat and cetuximab.Patient-derived xenograft experiments prove the effectiveness of employing orlistat and cetuximab combination in suppressing tumor growth for CSN6/FASN-high CRC.Thus,CSN6-FASN axis reprograms lipogenesis to promote tumor growth and is a target for cancer intervening strategy in CRC.Wenxia Wei Baifu Qin Weijie Wen Boyu Zhang Haidan Luo Yuzhi Wang Hui Xu Xiaoshan Xie Sicheng Liu Xin Jiang Mengan Wang Qin Tang Jiayu Zhang Runxiang Yang Zongmin Fan Haiwen Lyu Junzhong Lin Kai Li Mong-Hong Lee 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,6:0
6Toxicity effects of disinfection byproduct chloroacetic acid to Microcystis aeruginosa: Cytotoxicity and mechanisms显示文摘Chlorine-based disinfectants are widely used for disinfection in wastewater treatment.The mechanism of the effects of chlorinated disinfection by-products on cyanobacteria was unclear.Herein,the physiological effects of chloroacetic acid(CAA)on Microcystis aeruginosa(M.aeruginosa),including acute toxicity,oxidative stress,apoptosis,production of microcystin-LR(MC-LR),and the microcystin transportation-related gene mcyH transcript abundance have been investigated.CAA exposure resulted in a significant change in the cell ultrastructure,including thylakoid damage,disappearance of nucleoid,production of gas vacuoles,increase in starch granule,accumulation of lipid droplets,and disruption of cytoplasm membranes.Meanwhile,the apoptosis rate of M.aeruginosa increased with CAA concentration.The production of MC-LR was affected by CAA,and the transcript abundance of mcyH decreased.Our results suggested that CAA poses acute toxicity to M.aeruginosa,and it could cause oxidative damage,stimulate MC-LR production,and damage cell ultrastructure.This study may provide information about the minimum concentration of CAA in the water environment,which is safe for aquatic organisms,especially during the global coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic period.Jing Ye Jiawei Ni Fuxiang Tian Xiyan Ji Meifang Hou Yuanting Li Lei Yang Runxiang Wang Wenwu Xu Liang Meng 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,7:0
