Detection of nighttime sea fog/stratus over the Huang-hai Sea using MTSAT-1R IR data显示文摘A dual channel difference (DCD) method is applied to detect nighttime sea fog/stratus over the Huanghai Sea using the infrared (IR) data of shortwave (3.5–4.0 μm) and longwave (10.3–11.3 μm) channels from the Multi-functional Transport Satellite (MTSAT)-1R, i.e., shortwave minus longwave brightness temperature difference (SLTD). Twenty-four sea fog events over the Huanghai Sea during March to July of 2006 and 2007 are chosen to determine a suitable value of SLTD for nighttime sea fog/stratus detection, and it is found that the value of –5.5––2.5°C can be taken as a criterion. Two case examples of sea fog events are especially demonstrated in detail utilizing the criterion, and the results show that the derived sea fog/stratus coverage is quite reasonable. This coverage information is very helpful to analyze the formation and evolution of sea fog/stratus during night and can provide sea fog researchers with observational evidences for model results verification. However, more efforts are needed to further obtain vertical extent information of sea fog/stratus and attempt to discriminate between sea fog and stratus. | GAO Shanhong WU Wei ZHU Leilei FU Gang HUANG Bin | 2009 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2009,28,2: | 36
Regulated cell death(RCD)in cancer:key pathways and targeted therapies显示文摘Regulated cell death(RCD),also well-known as programmed cell death(PCD),refers to the form of cell death that can be regulated by a variety of biomacromolecules, which is distinctive from accidental cell death(ACD).Accumulating evidence has revealed that RCD subroutines are the key features of tumorigenesis, which may ultimately lead to the establishment of different potential therapeutic strategies.Hitherto, targeting the subroutines of RCD with pharmacological small-molecule compounds has been emerging as a promising therapeutic avenue, which has rapidly progressed in many types of human cancers. Thus,in this review,we focus on summarizing not only the key apoptotic and autophagy-dependent cell death signaling pathways, but the crucial pathways of other RCD subroutines, including necroptosis, pyroptosis, ferroptosis, parthanatos, entosis,NETosis and lysosomedependent cell death(LCD)in cancer. Moreover,we further discuss the current situation of several small-molecule compounds targeting the different RCD subroutines to improve cancer treatment, such as single-target,dual or multiple-target small-molecule compounds, drug combinations, and some new emerging therapeutic strategies that would together shed new light on future directions to attack cancer cell vulnerabilities with small-molecule drugs targeting RCD for therapeutic purposes. | Fu Peng Minru Liao Rui Qin Shiou Zhu Cheng Peng Leilei Fu Yi Chen Bo Han | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,9: | 4
Mitotic motor CENP-E cooperates with PRC1 in temporal control of central spindle assembly显示文摘Error-free cell division depends on the accurate assembly of the spindle midzone from dynamic spindle microtubules to ensure chromatid segregation during metaphase-anaphase transition. However, the mechanism underlying the key transition from the mitotic spindle to central spindle before anaphase onset remains elusive.Given the prevalence of chromosome instability phenotype in gastric tumorigenesis,we developed a strategy to model context-dependent cell division using a combination of light sheet microscope and 3D gastric organoids.Light sheet microscopic image analyses of 3D organoids showed that CENP-E inhibited cells undergoing aberrant metaphase-anaphase transition and exhibiting chromosome segregation errors during mitosis.Highresolution real-time imaging analyses of 2D cell culture revealed that CENP-E inhibited cells undergoing central spindle splitting and chromosome instability phenotype.Using biotinylated syntelin as an affinity matrix,we found that CENP-E forms a complex with PRC1 in mitotic cells.Chemical inhibition of CENP-E in metaphase by syntelin prevented accurate central spindle assembly by perturbing temporal assembly of PRC1 to the midzone.Thus,CENP-E-mediated PRC1 assembly to the central spindle constitutes a temporal switch to organize dynamic kinetochore microtubules into stable midzone arrays. These findings reveal a previously uncharacterized role of CENP-E in temporal control of central spindle assembly.Since CENP-E is absent from yeast,we reasoned that metazoans evolved an elaborate central spindle organization machinery to ensure accurate sister chromatid segregation during anaphase and cytokinesis. | Xu Liu Leilei Xu Junying Li Phil Y.Yao Wanjuan Wang Hazrat Ismail Haowei Wang Bryce Liao Zhihong Yang Tarsha Ward Ke Ruan Jianchun Zhang Quan Wu Ping He Xia Ding Dongmei Wang Chuanhai Fu Zhen Dou Feng Yan Wenwen Wang Xing Liu Xuebiao Yao | 2020 | Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,8: | 3
Microwave-assisted pyrolysis of vegetable oil soapstock:Comparative study of rapeseed, sunflower, corn, soybean, rice, and peanut oil soapstock显示文摘In this study, the effects of catalytic temperature and the type of soapstock on products from microwave-assisted pyrolysis were investigated.HZSM-5 was used as the catalyst to study the pyrolysis of six different soapstocks at 200℃,300℃,and 400℃ catalytic temperature. Results showed that the bio-oil yields initially increased and then decreased with the increase in catalytic temperature. When the catalytic temperature was 300℃,the bio-oil reached up to the maximum value(65.8 wt.%).Findings indicated that the composition of bio-oil was related to the degree of unsaturation of fatty acids sodium in the soapstocks. In the case of saturated fatty acid sodium,a series of alkanes was formed, whereas the pyrolysis of monounsaturated fatty acid sodium resulted mainly in cycloalkanes, the cycloalkenes obtained from bio-oil was produced by polyunsaturated fatty acid sodium. | Yunpu Wang Shumei Zhang Qiuhao Wu Dengle Duan Yuhuan Liu Roger Ruan Guiming Fu Leilei Dai Lin Jiang Zhenting Yu Zihong Zeng Xiaojie Tian Xiuhua Yang | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,6: | 3

Biorefinery process for production of bioactive compounds and bio-oil from Camellia oleifera shell显示文摘A biorefinery process was developed in this study to obtain bioactive compounds and bio-oil from Camellia oleifera shells.Four different extraction techniques(water,ethanol,ultrasound-assisted deionized water, and ultrasound-assisted ethanol)were utilized to extract tea saponin and tannin from C.oleifera shells. Results showed that ethanol had better extraction capacity than did deionized water, and ultrasound could promote the dissolution of tannin and tea saponin in solution. The thermogravimetric curves of the samples treated under the four conditions moved toward high temperatures. This phenomenon indicated the thermal stability of the residue was significantly improved. The pretreatment showed a slight effect on the chemical compositions of bio-oil.Specifically,the samples treated with ethanol and ultrasound-assisted deionized water contained higher phenol contents(81.07%and 81.52%,respectively)than the other samples. The content of organic acid decreased with an increase in the phenol content. | Yunpu Wang Linyao Ke Qi Yang Yujie Peng Yanzhe Hu Leilei Dai Lin Jiang Qiuhao Wu Yuhuan Liu Roger Ruan Guiming Fu | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,5: | 1
Isogeometric Boundary Element Analysis for 2D Transient Heat Conduction Problem with Radial Integration Method显示文摘This paper presents an isogeometric boundary element method(IGABEM)for transient heat conduction analysis. The Non-Uniform Rational B-spline(NURBS)basis functions, which are used to construct the geometry of the structures, are employed to discretize the physical unknowns in the boundary integral formulations of the governing equations.Bezier extraction technique is employed to accelerate the evaluation of NURBS basis functions. We adopt a radial integration method to address the additional domain integrals. The numerical examples demonstrate the advantage of IGABEM in dimension reduction and the seamless connection between CAD and numerical analysis. | Leilei Chen Kunpeng Li Xuan Peng Haojie Lian Xiao Lin Zhuojia Fu | 2021 | Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2021,,1: | 1
Three-Dimensional Hexagram Gold Nanoparticles: Synthesis and Growth Mechanism显示文摘This study explained a procedure to synthesize 3 D hexagram gold nanoparticles using a specific morphologically controlled gold precursor reduction. Acetaldehyde acted as the reducing agent along with polyvinyl pyrrolidone as the stabilizing agent with a limited reaction temperature range observed to be near to 25 °C. The resulting special gold nanoparticles were physically characterized and observed to possess an average planar size of 420 nm, an average central thickness of 200 nm, and an average edge thickness of 18 nm. Furthermore, a mechanism model was proposed to describe the oriented growth of gold nanoparticles employing published accounts of the mechanisms involved in the growth of gold hexagonal nanoplates. Moreover, the two major factors that controlled the morphology of synthesized gold nanoparticles were elaborated to provide reference for future fabrication methods of metal nanoparticles in both academia and industry. | Jinsheng Sun Ping Zhang Sheng Fu Leilei Dai Hongdan Wang | 2019 | Transactions of Tianjin University2019,25,1: | 0
DCRL-KG: Distributed Multi-Modal Knowledge Graph Retrieval Platform Based on Collaborative Representation Learning显示文摘The knowledge graph with relational abundant information has been widely used as the basic data support for the retrieval platforms.Image and text descriptions added to the knowledge graph enrich the node information, which accounts for the advantage of the multi-modal knowledge graph. In the field of cross-modal retrieval platforms,multi-modal knowledge graphs can help to improve retrieval accuracy and efficiency because of the abundant relational infor-mation provided by knowledge graphs. The representation learning method is sig-nificant to the application of multi-modal knowledge graphs. This paper proposes a distributed collaborative vector retrieval platform(DCRL-KG)using the multi-modal knowledge graph VisualSem as the foundation to achieve efficient and high-precision multimodal data retrieval.Firstly, use distributed technology to classify and store the data in the knowledge graph to improve retrieval efficiency.Secondly, this paper uses BabelNet to expand the knowledge graph through multi-ple filtering processes and increase the diversification of information. Finally, this paper builds a variety of retrieval models to achieve the fusion of retrieval results through linear combination methods to achieve high-precision language retrieval and image retrieval. The paper uses sentence retrieval and image retrieval experi-ments to prove that the platform can optimize the storage structure of the multi-modal knowledge graph and have good performance in multi-modal space. | Leilei Li Yansheng Fu Dongjie Zhu Xiaofang Li Yundong Sun Jianrui Ding Mingrui Wu Ning Cao Russell Higgs | 2023 | Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,,6: | 0

A Noise-Resistant Superpixel Segmentation Algorithm for Hyperspectral Images显示文摘The superpixel segmentation has been widely applied in many computer vision and image process applications. In recent years, amount of superpixel segmentation algorithms have been proposed. However, most of the current algorithms are designed for natural images with little noise corrupted. In order to apply the superpixel algorithms to hyperspectral images which are always seriously polluted by noise,we propose a noiseresistant superpixel segmentation(NRSS)algorithm in this paper. In the proposed NRSS,the spectral signatures are first transformed into frequency domain to enhance the noise robustness;then the two widely spectral similarity measures-spectral angle mapper(SAM)and spectral information divergence(SID)are combined to enhance the discriminability of the spectral similarity;finally, the superpixels are generated with the proposed frequency-based spectral similarity. Both qualitative and quantitative experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed superpixel segmentation algorithm when dealing with hyperspectral images with various noise levels. Moreover, the proposed NRSS is compared with the most widely used superpixel segmentation algorithm-simple linear iterative clustering(SLIC),where the comparison results prove the superiority of the proposed superpixel segmentation algorithm. | Peng Fu Qianqian Xu Jieyu Zhang Leilei Geng | 2019 | Computers, Materials & Continua2019,,5: | 0
Repurposing non-oncology small-molecule drugs to improve cancer therapy: Current situation and future directions显示文摘Drug repurposing or repositioning has been well-known to refer to the therapeutic applications of a drug for another indication other than it was originally approved for.Repurposing non-oncology small-molecule drugs has been increasingly becoming an attractive approach to improve cancer therapy, with potentially lower overall costs and shorter timelines.Several non-oncology drugs approved by FDA have been recently reported to treat different types of human cancers, with the aid of some new emerging technologies, such as omics sequencing and artificial intelligence to overcome the bottleneck of drug repurposing. Therefore,in this review,we focus on summarizing the therapeutic potential of non-oncology drugs, including cardiovascular drugs, microbiological drugs,small-molecule antibiotics,anti-viral drugs,anti-inflammatory drugs, antineurodegenerative drugs, antipsychotic drugs, antidepressants, and other drugs in human cancers. We also discuss their novel potential targets and relevant signaling pathways of these old non-oncology drugs in cancer therapies.Taken together, these inspiring findings will shed new light on repurposing more non-oncology small-molecule drugs with their intricate molecular mechanisms for future cancer drug discovery. | Leilei Fu Wenke Jin Jiahui Zhang Lingjuan Zhu Jia Lu Yongqi Zhen Lan Zhang Liang Ouyang Bo Liu Haiyang Yu | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2: | 0
Zfhx3 is essential for progesterone/progesterone receptor signaling to drive ductal side-branching and alveologenesis in mouse mammary glands显示文摘Progesterone(Pg)/progesterone receptor(PR) signaling drives mammary gland side-branching and alveologenesis, but the mechanisms through which Pg/PR signaling functions remain to be clarified.Using in vitro and in vivo models and histological and molecular analyses, we determined the role of Zfhx3 transcription factor in mammary gland development driven by Pg/PR signaling. Postnatal deletion of Zfhx3 in mouse mammary epithelial cells attenuated side-branching morphogenesis and alveologenesis. These effects were undetectable in the absence of Pg/PR signaling. During the estrus cycle, Zfhx3 expression corresponded to that of Pg, being at the highest level at the diestrus stage; Zfhx3 deletion inhibited mammary gland branching more potently at diestrus than estrus stage. Loss of Zfhx3 not only attenuated the expansion of stem/progenitor cells driven by Pg/PR signaling, but also impaired the function of Pg/PR signaling in the transcriptional activation of multiple genes. In addition, Pg/PR signaling significantly expanded PR-and Zfhx3-positive epithelial cells, and induced the physical association of ZFHX3 with PR. These findings establish Zfhx3 as an integral transcription factor of Pg/PR signaling in driving side-branching and alveologenesis during mammary gland development. | Gui Ma Ang Gao Yinan Yang Yuan He Xi Zhang Baotong Zhang Zhiqian Zhang Mei Li Xing Fu Dan Zhao Rui Wu Leilei Qi Qingxia Hu Juan Li Liya Fu Zhengmao Zhu Jin-Tang Dong | 2019 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2019,46,3: | 0
Nitrogen deposition suppresses fungal biomass and oxidase activity in faeces of the millipede Spirobolus formosae in a temperate forest显示文摘Atmospheric nitrogen(N)deposition has increased dramatically since the industrial revolution due to human activities. In terrestrial ecosystems, excess nitrogen inputs can greatly affect soil chemical properties, plant growth, and activities of soil microbes and fauna.Millipedes can fragment and consume large quantities of litter, and they regulate nutrient cycling and affect soil fertility through excretion of faeces. Many soil fauna graze on the faeces of millipedes as a part of the soil food web.The decomposition and stabilization of these millipede faeces are especially important in soil carbon dynamics and nutrient cycling, and these processes rely heavily upon microbial activity. However, very few studies have investigated how microbial community structure and oxidase activity of millipede faeces respond to climate change, especially N deposition. Therefore,we designed a microcosm study to investigate this question, which included two treatments,N addition treatment and control(without N addition). We found that:(i)microbial community structure in millipede faeces was altered and the biomass of fungi and actinomycetes in faecal pellets were significantly reduced after N addition, but bacteria still dominated in millipede faeces after N addition,(ii)oxidase activity was suppressed in response to N addition, and(iii)microbial community structure and oxidase activities were significantly correlated to organic carbon and dissolved total nitrogen of faeces. All these changes suggest that millipede excretion activities under nitrogen deposition contribute to carbon stabilization and reduction in greenhouse gas emission owing to the significant role of fungi and associated oxidase in carbon mineralization. It is noteworthy to pay more attention to the function of saprotrophic invertebrates in future N deposition studies. | Mengru Wang Shenglei Fu Hongzhi Zhang Meina Wang Haixiang Xu Leilei Shi | 2019 | Soil Ecology Letters2019,1,1: | 0
Degradable Foam Tray Based on High-concentration Dispersed Cellulose Fibers Obtained by a Hot-press Baking Process显示文摘Degradable industrial packaging foam trays made from cellulose fibers were fabricated using a hot-press baking process.Bleached softwood pulp fibers with a concentration of 30%were dispersed at a high speed under the action of a dispersant. The effects of the dispersant dosage of the fibers on the porosity, foam density, and static compression characteristics were discussed.Furthermore, the effects of the reinforcing adhesive including polyvinyl alcohol(PVA),and cassava starch on the physical and mechanical properties of the foam trays were studied,as well as the relationship between these properties and the microstructure of the foam trays. The dispersant enhanced the rheological and blistering properties of the fiber dispersion. As the dispersant dosage increased from 2%to 4%,the foam density gradually increased and the compressive strain performance and residual compressive strain of the foam trays decreased.Under the condition of constant dosage of dispersant, increasing the fiber proportion from 67%to 77%improved the porosity and foam density and slightly reduced the static compression performance. In additioton, the static compression resistance of the foamed materials was improved by increasing the PVA dosage since PVA was beneficial for improving the strength of the foam trays. | Ruijuan Zhang Yanqun Su Tao Zhao Jingang Liu Hongjie Zhang Leilei Hou Xianling Fu Qi Chen | 2023 | Paper And Biomaterials2023,8,4: | 0
Robust Core Tensor Dictionary Learning with Modified Gaussian Mixture Model for Multispectral Image Restoration显示文摘The multispectral remote sensing image(MS-RSI)is degraded existing multi-spectral camera due to various hardware limitations. In this paper,we propose a novel core tensor dictionary learning approach with the robust modified Gaussian mixture model for MS-RSI restoration.First, the multispectral patch is modeled by three-order tensor and high-order singular value decomposition is applied to the tensor. Then the task of MS-RSI restoration is formulated as a minimum sparse core tensor estimation problem. To improve the accuracy of core tensor coding, the core tensor estimation based on the robust modified Gaussian mixture model is introduced into the proposed model by exploiting the sparse distribution prior in image. When applied to MS-RSI restoration, our experimental results have shown that the proposed algorithm can better reconstruct the sharpness of the image textures and can outperform several existing state-of-the-art multispectral image restoration methods in both subjective image quality and visual perception. | Leilei Geng Chaoran Cui Qiang Guo Sijie Niu Guoqing Zhang Peng Fu | 2020 | Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,10: | 0
