1microRNAs-powerful repression comes from small RNAs显示文摘microRNAs (miRNAs) encode a novel class of small, non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression post-trancriptionally. miRNAs comprise one of the major non-coding RNA families, whose diverse bio- logical functions and unusual capacity for gene regulation have attracted enormous interests in the RNA world. Over the past 16 years, genetic, biochemical and computational approaches have greatly shaped the growth of the field, leading to the identification of thousands of miRNA genes in nearly all metazoans. The key molecular machinery for miRNA biogenesis and silencing has been identified, yet the precise biochemical and regulatory mechanisms still remain elusive. However, recent findings have shed new light on how miRNAs are generated and how they function to repress gene expression. miRNAs provide a paradigm for endogenous small RNAs that mediate gene silencing at a genome-wide level. The gene silencing mediated by these small RNAs constitutes a major component of gene regu- lation during various developmental and physiological processes. 4Mechanistic and therapeutic perspectives for cardiac arrhythmias:beyond ion channels显示文摘Cardiac arrhythmias are among the most common causes of death in the world. Foundational studies established the critical role of ion channel disorders in arrhythmias, yet defects in ion channels themselves, such as mutations, may not account for all arrhythmias. Despite the progress made in recent decades, the antiarrhythmic drugs currently available have limited effectiveness,and the majority of these drugs can have proarrhythmic effects. 6Blocking the JAK2/STAT3 and ERK pathways suppresses the proliferation of gastrointestinal cancers by inducing apoptosis显示文摘Dysregulated crosstalk between different signaling pathways contributes to tumor development,including resistance to cancer therapy.In the present study,we found that the mitogen-activated extracellular signal-regulated kinase(MEK)inhibitor trametinib failed to suppress the proliferation of PANC-1 and MGC803 cells by activating the Janus kinase 2(JAK2)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)signaling pathway,while the JAK2 inhibitor fedratinib failed to inhibit the growth of the PANC-1 cells upon stimulation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)signaling.In particular,the most prominent enhancement of the anti-proliferative effect resulted from the concurrent blockage of the JAK2/STAT3 and ERK signaling pathways.Furthermore,the combination of the two inhibitors resulted in a reduced tumor burden in mice.Our evidence suggests novel crosstalk between JAK2/STAT3 and ERK signaling in gastric cancer(GC)and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)cells and provides a therapeutic strategy to overcome potential resistance in gastrointestinal cancer.Xi WANG Chunyan DAI Yifei YIN Lin WU Weiyang JIN Yufei FU Zhe CHEN Ke HAO Bin LU 2021Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,6:4

8Highly-efficient thermoelectric-driven light-emitting diodes based on colloidal quantum dots显示文摘Driven by sub-bandgap electric work and Peltier heat,thermoelectric-driven light-emitting diodes(TED-LEDs)not only offer much enhanced power-conversion-efficiency but also eliminate the waste heat generated during the operation of LEDs.However,costeffective and high-efficiency TED-LEDs are not readily accessible for the epitaxially grown III-V LEDs due to the high chip cost and efficiency droop at low-medium brightness(current densities).Here we show that electroluminescence of colloidal quantum dots(QDs)LEDs(QLEDs)circumvents the deficiencies faced by conventional LEDs.The optimal red-emitting device fabricated by cost-effective solution processing technics exhibits external-and internal-power-conversion-efficiency of 21.5%and 93.5%at 100 cd/m^(2),suited for high-efficiency solid-state lighting and high-resolution display.At this brightness,the electric driving voltage(V)of 1.89 V is lower than the photon voltage(Vp=hv/q=1.96 V,q being the elemental charge).With typical Vp=1.96 V,electroluminescence can be detected with the driving voltage as low as 1.0-1.2 V.Luminance of the thermoelectric-driven QLEDs(TED-QLEDs)remains ideally diffusion-dominated with the driving voltage lower than~1.5 V,and further improvement on charge transport is expected to extend the linear ideality to all practical driving voltages.Xing Lin Xingliang Dai Zikang Ye Yufei Shu Zixuan Song Xiaogang Peng 2022Nano Research2022,15,10:2

11Joint Power and Duty-Cycle Design Using Alternating Optimization Algorithm under Energy Harvesting Architectures显示文摘In the emerging sixth generation(6G)communication network,energy harvesting(EH)is a promising technology to achieve the unlimited energy supply and hence makes the wireless communication systems self-sustainable in terms of energy.However,in practice,the efficiency of energy harvesting is often low due to the limited device capability.In this paper,we formulate three types of different EH architectures,i.e.,the harvest-use architecture,the harvest-store-use architecture,and the harvest-use-store architecture from the perspective of energy storage efficiency.We propose resource allocation schemes to jointly design the sensor power and duty-cycle via an alternating optimization algorithm under the above EH architectures,in both simultaneous and non-simultaneous harvesting and utilization models,aiming at achieving a higher throughput and energy efficiency.Non-ideal circuit power is also considered.Numerical results show that our proposed schemes under EH architectures outperform the existing classic continuous transmission schemes.Tong Wang Xiang Yang Feng Deng Lin Gao Yufei Jiang Zhihua Yang 2020China Communications2020,17,12:1
12In-situ constructing visible light CdS/Cd-MOF photocatalyst with enhanced photodegradation of methylene blue显示文摘Based on high specific surface area,high porosity of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)and excellent vis-ible light response of CdS,the CdS/Cd-MOF nanocomposites were constructed by in-situ sulfurization to form CdS using Cd-MOF as precursor and the CdS loading was controlled by the dose of thioac-etamide.Under the irradiation of simulated sunlight,the degradation rate of methylene blue(MB)by 10mg MOF/CdS-6(mass ratio of MOF to thioacetamide is 6:1)was 91.9%in 100min,which was higher than that of pure Cd-MOF(62.3%)and pure CdS(67.5%).This is attributed to the larger specific surface area of the composite catalysts,which provides more active sites.Meanwhile,the loading of CdS obvi-ously broadens the light response range of Cd-MOF and improves the utilization of visible light.The Mott-Schottky model experiment shows that the formed type-Ⅱheterojunction between Cd-MOF and CdS can effectively inhibit the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes.Meanwhile,the photocurrent intensity of MOF/CdS-6 is 8 times and 2.5 times of that of pure Cd-MOF and CdS.In addi-tion,MOF/CdS-6 showed good photocatalytic performance after five cycles,showing excellent stability and reusability.Cheng Jing Yufei Zhang Junjie Zheng Shengsong Ge Jing Lin Duo Pan Nithesh Naik Zhanhu Guo 2022Particuology2022,20,10:1

20Determination of mechanical parameters for jointed rock masses显示文摘Combining with empirical method, laboratory test and numerical simulation, a comprehensive system was presented to determine the mechanical parameters of jointed rock masses. The system has the following four functions: (1) Based on the field investigation of joints, the system can consider rock mass structures, by using network simulation technology. (2) Rock samples are conducted by numerical simulation with the input engineering mechanical parameters of rocks and joints obtained from laboratory tests. (3) The whole stress-strain curve of jointed rock masses under certain normal stress can be plotted from numerical simulation, and then the shear strength parameters of jointed rock masses can be obtained from the whole stress-strain curves under different normal stresses. (4) The statistical values of mechanical parameters of jointed rock masses can be determined according to numerical simulation. Based on the statistical values, combining with engineering experiences and geological investigations, the comprehensive mechanical parameters of jointed rock masses can be achieved finally.
