1Low-temperature conversion of ammonia to nitrogen in water with ozone over composite metal oxide catalyst显示文摘As one of the most important water pollutants, ammonia nitrogen emissions have increased year by year, which has attracted people's attention. Catalytic ozonation technology, which involves production of ·OH radical with strong oxidation ability, is widely used in the treatment of organic-containing wastewater. In this work, MgO-Co_3O_4 composite metal oxide catalysts prepared with different fabrication conditions have been systematically evaluated and compared in the catalytic ozonation of ammonia(50 mg/L) in water. In terms of high catalytic activity in ammonia decomposition and high selectivity for gaseous nitrogen, the catalyst with MgO-Co_3O_4 molar ratio 8:2, calcined at 500°C for 3 hr, was the best one among the catalysts we tested, with an ammonia nitrogen removal rate of 85.2% and gaseous nitrogen selectivity of44.8%. In addition, the reaction mechanism of ozonation oxidative decomposition of ammonia nitrogen in water with the metal oxide catalysts was discussed. Moreover, the effect of coexisting anions on the degradation of ammonia was studied, finding that SO_2-4 and HCO-3 could inhibit the catalytic activity while CO_2-3 and Br-could promote it. The presence of coexisting cations had very little effect on the catalytic ozonation of ammonia nitrogen. 2Luminescent metal nanoclusters for biomedical applications显示文摘Luminescent metal nanoclusters (NCs) have recently emerged as a novel class of luminescent nanomaterials and hold significant potential in biomedicine owing to their ultrasmall (<2nm) size,excellent photostability,and good biocompatibility.The recent rapid advances in the synthesis and functionalization of luminescent metal NCs have enabled scientists to develop colorful nanomaterials and nanodevices for a wide range of biomedical applications.In this review,we summarize the characteristics and advantages of luminescence from metal NCs,and highlight their applications in biomedicine.We focus on the research in biomedical detection,bio-imaging,drug delivery,and therapy,especially for the advances in the last five years.Luminescent metal NCs display a series of unique superiorities in biomedical applications,and the recent achievements have brought a lot of benefits to the diagnosis and treatment of clinical diseases,especially for tumors and cancers.Finally,we put forward the main challenges that currently still hinder the basic science studies and the practical development of luminescent metal NCs in biomedical applications.Overall,we expect that luminescent metal NCs will play a much more important role in future biomedicine and clinical applications.Yu Su Tiantian Xue Yuxin Liu Jinxia Qi Rongchao Jin Zhenkun Lin 2019Nano Research2019,12,6:6

4HSP70L1-mediated intracellular priming of dendritic cell vaccination induces more potent CTL response against cancer显示文摘Heat-shock protein(HSP)-based immunotherapy is established on its adjuvant effects when applied via an extracellular approach to pulse and activate dendritic cells(DCs).Our previous studies indicate that DCs pulsed with recombinant fusion proteins of antigenic fragment and HSP70-like protein 1(HSP70L1)are potent in stimulating antigen-specific Th1 responses.We herein evaluated the cytotoxic T cell(CTL)response by an intracellular approach of priming DCs with transfection of recombinant adenovirus-expressing the fusion gene of the 576–699 fragment of carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)and HSP70L1.As compared with DCs pulsed with extracellular fusion protein,the DCs transfected with recombinant adenovirus expressing the fusion gene displayed equivalent mature phenotypes but less inflammatory appearance.However,the transfected DCs were superior to the pulsed DCs in inducing CEA-specific CTLs.Consistently,immunization of HLA-A2.1/H-2Kb transgene mice with the transfected DCs could induce more quantities of HLA-A2.1-restricted CEA-specific CTLs,protecting nude mice more significantly from human CEA-expressing colon tumor challenge when adoptively transferred.Mechanistic investigation indicated that intracellular expression of the fusion protein empowered the transfected DCs by activation of STAT1 possibly via inducing IFN-βand ERK pathways.Therefore,the more potent ability to induce anti-CEA CTL responses enables the DCs,which transfected with recombinant adenovirus expressing the fusion gene of antigenic CEA fragment and Th1 adjuvant,as an alternative promising approach for the immunotherapy of CEA-positive tumors.Shuxun Liu Lin Yi Ma Ling Jinxia Jiang Lijun Song Juan Liu Xuetao Cao 2018Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,2:2

6The E3 ubiquitin ligase NEDD4-1 protects against acetaminophen-induced liver injury by targeting VDAC1 for degradation显示文摘Acetaminophen(APAP)overdose is a major cause of liver injury.Neural precursor cell expressed developmentally downregulated 4—1(NEDD4-1)is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that has been implicated in the pathogenesis of numerous liver diseases;however,its role in APAP-induced liver injury(AILI)is unclear.Thus,this study aimed to investigate the role of NEDD4-1 in the pathogenesis of AILI.We found that NEDD4-1 was dramatically downregulated in response to APAP treatment in mouse livers and isolated mouse hepatocytes.Hepatocyte-specific NEDD4-1 knockout exacerbated APAP-induced mitochondrial damage and the resultant hepatocyte necrosis and liver injury,while hepatocyte-specific NEDD4-1 overexpression mitigated these pathological events both in vivo and in vitro.Additionally,hepatocyte NEDD4-1 deficiency led to marked accumulation of voltage-dependent anion channel 1(VDAC1)and increased VDAC1 oligomerization.Furthermore,VDAC1 knockdown alleviated AILI and weakened the exacerbation of AILI caused by hepatocyte NEDD4-1 deficiency.Mechanistically,NEDD4-1 was found to interact with the PPTY motif of VDAC1 through its WW domain and regulate K48-linked ubiquitination and degradation of VDAC1.Our present study indicates that NEDD4-1 is a suppressor of AILI and functions by regulating the degradation of VDAC1.Yiwei Zhu Lin Lei Xinghui Wang Linfang Chen Wei Li Jinxia Li Chenchen Zhao Xiliang Du Yuxiang Song Wenwen Gao Guowen Liu Xinwei Li 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,4:1

10IL-21 regulates macrophage activation in human monocytic THP-1-derived macrophages显示文摘Background:Interleukin-21(IL-21)has a regulatory effect on various immune cells.Its effect on macrophage function remains unclear.Aims:This study aimed to investigate the effect of IL-21 on the macrophagesmediated inflammatory response and explore its mechanism.Materials&Methods:Phorbol myristate acetate was used to induce THP-1-derived macrophages.Then,cells were stimulated with IL-21 and/or lipopolysaccharide(LPS).To determine the effect of IL-21 on the production of inflammatory factors in THP-1-derived macrophages,the messenger RNA(mRNA)and protein levels of IL-6,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),IL-8,and IL-10 were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),respectively.Meanwhile,to explore the effect of IL-21 on macrophage polarization,macrophage phenotype,gene expression,and cytokine secretion mediated by THP-1-derived macrophage were detected by flow cytometry,RT-PCR,and ELISA.Results:First,we found that the IL-21 receptor was expressed in THP-1-derived macrophages.IL-21 enhanced LPS-mediated TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-10 production in THP-1-derived macrophages.During the polarization of THP-1-derived macrophages to M1-like macrophages,IL-21 induced the expression of macrophage surface markers CD86 and CD80,and related genes,such as TNF-α,IL-6,IL-1β,and DC-SIGN mRNA,inhibited Dectin-1 mRNA expression and promoted the secretion of TNF-α.During the polarization of THP-1-derived macrophages to M2-like macrophages,IL-21 enhanced the expression of macrophage surface markers CD86 and CD163,and related genes,such as TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-10,Dectin-1,and DC-SIGN mRNA,and promoted the secretion of IL-10.Conclusion:IL-21 promotes LPS-mediated production of inflammatory cytokines by THP-1-derived macrophages;IL-21 plays a two-way regulatory role in THP-1-derived macrophage polarization.Leilei Jian Changhong Li Lin Sun Zhenzhen Ma Xinyu Wang Ruohan Yu Xiangyuan Liu Jinxia Zhao 2021Rheumatology & Autoimmunity2021,1,1:0
11Gonadal transcriptomic analysis and differentially expressed genes between the testes and ovaries in Trachinotus ovatus显示文摘The Trachinotus ovatus is a popular aquaculture species in China.There are no obvious morphological differences between male and female fish,even during maturity,prompting research studies on sex-related features of this fish.To examine sex determination-and gonadal development-related genes,we conducted transcriptome analysis of the ovaries and testes of T.ovatus.A total of 345,972,132 high-quality clean reads were obtained from 12 libraries.In addition,28,137 gonad-expressed unigenes were obtained by mapping the clean reads to the T.ovatus reference genome.A total of 8,237 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified between stage I ovaries and testes,including 3,235 testicular upregulated and 5,002 ovarian upregulated genes.Furthermore,13,448 DEGs were obtained between stage III ovarian and testicular libraries,including 7,576 testicular upregulated and 5,872 ovarian upregulated genes.The DEGs included some sex-determining genes such as sry,dmrt1,and amh.DEGs between ovarian and testicular libraries were significantly enriched with KEGG pathways that are involved in gonadal development,sex determination,and gonadal function.Then,10 DEGs(seven testicular upregulated and three ovarian upregulated unigenes)were selected for quantitative real-time PCR analysis.Four genes(zinc-binding protein A33-like,pro-opiomelanocortin-like,leucine-rich repeat and transmembrane domain-containing protein 2-like,and forkhead boxC1)showed a specific testicular expression pattern.The gonadally expressed as well as testicular and ovarian DEGs provide useful information for further research on the reproductive biology of T.ovatus.Pingping He Peng Zhu Pinyuan Wei Xiaofei Zhuo Yuan Ma Xiaohan Chen Yong Lin Youhou Xu Hui Luo Jinxia Peng 2022Aquaculture and Fisheries2022,7,1:0
12Strong Coupling of Magnetism and Lattice Induces Near-Zero Thermal Expansion over Broad Temperature Windows in ErFe10V2−xMox Compounds显示文摘Alloys with low thermal expansion could overcome thermal stress issues under temperature-fluctuated conditions and possess important application prospects,while they are restricted to finite chemical components and temperature windows.In this study,we report a novel class of near-zero thermal expansion(near ZTE)alloys,ErFe_(10)V_(2−x)Mo_(x),over a wide temperature range(120–440 K).Neutron diffraction and magnetic measurements demonstrated that the ErFe_(10)V_(2−x)Mo_(x)compounds exhibited complex ferrimagnetic(FIM)structures below Curie temperature(TC).The near-ZTE behaviors were closely related to the itinerant Fe 3d moments in the collinear FIM states,as well as the geometric[−Fe−Fe−]linkages.Further,X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES)spectra revealed that the nonmagnetic substitution changed the electronic valence states of Fe atoms,which,in turn,changed Fe 3d moments and TC,hence,regulating the thermal expansion behaviors.Our work provides an insight into chemical modifications of thermal expansion in magnetic intermetallic compounds.Wenjie Li Kun Lin Yili Cao Chengyi Yu Chin-Wei Wang Xinzhi Liu Kenichi Kato Yilin Wang Jiaou Wang Qiang Li Jun Chen Jinxia Deng Hongjie Zhang Xianran Xing 2021CCS Chemistry2021,3,3:0
13Associated Bacteriostasis Research of Coptidis Rhizoma-Folium Isatidis and Coptidis Rhizoma-Flos Poprli against Escherichia coli O2显示文摘[Objective] The paper was to explore the combined inhibitory effect of rhizoma coptidis-folium isatidis and rhizoma coptidis-flos poprli against Escherichia coli O2.[Method] Contrast test of single and associated bacteriostasis against known serotype E. coli O2 was conducted using microcheckerboard method.[Result] The MIC of rhizoma coptidis, folium isatidis and flos poprli were 1/8 extracting liquid, 1/8 extracting liquid and 1/2 extracting liquid, respectively. When combined with folium isatidis or flos poprli, the MIC of rhizoma coptidis was 1/8 extracting liq-uid or 1/16 extracting liquid compared with single use.
