2Experimental study of an aircraft fuel tank inerting system显示文摘In this work, a simulated aircraft fuel tank inerting system has been successfully established based on a model tank. Experiments were conducted to investigate the influences of different operating parameters on the inerting effectiveness of the system, including flow rate of the inert gas(nitrogen-enriched air), inert gas concentration, fuel load of the tank and different inerting approaches. The experimental results show that under the same operating conditions, the time span of a complete inerting process decreased as the flow rate of inert gas was increased; the time span using the inert gas with 5% oxygen concentration was much longer than that using pure nitrogen;when the fuel tank was inerted using the ullage washing approach, the time span increased as the fuel load was decreased; the ullage washing approach showed the best inerting performance when the time span of a complete inerting process was the evaluation criterion, but when the decrease of dissolved oxygen concentration in the fuel was also considered to characterize the inerting effectiveness, the approach of ullage washing and fuel scrubbing at the same time was the most effective.Cai Yan Bu Xueqin Lin Guiping Sun Bing Zeng Yu Li Zixuan 2015Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,2:15
3Experimental investigation on operating instability of a dual compensation chamber loop heat pipe显示文摘The operating instability of a dual compensation chamber loop heat pipe (DCC-LHP) including temperature hysteresis, reverse flow and temperature oscillation is described and explained in this paper. Test results indicate that the steady state operating temperature under the variable conductance mode is not the same during the power cycle tests with the same heat load, and it is lower during the power reduction cycle than that during the power increase cycle. Orientation has an effect on the heat load range when temperature hysteresis occurs, and the effect of power variation amplitude can be ignored. Reverse flow tends to occur in some of the startups at low heat loads, even if vapor existed in the vapor grooves initially, which is caused by a higher pressure inside the wick due to evaporation in the evaporator core or vapor penetration into it. Temperature oscillation tends to occur in some of the startups at low head loads or some steady-state operations at high heat loads. 4Experimental study of curvature effects on jet impingement heat transfer on concave surfaces显示文摘Experimental study of the local and average heat transfer characteristics of a single round jet impinging on the concave surfaces was conducted in this work to gain in-depth knowledge of the curvature effects.The experiments were conducted by employing a piccolo tube with one single jet hole over a wide range of parameters:jet Reynolds number from 27000 to 130000,relative nozzle to surface distance from 3.3 to 30,and relative surface curvature from 0.005 to 0.030.Experimental results indicate that the surface curvature has opposite effects on heat transfer characteristics.On one hand,an increase of relative nozzle to surface distance(increasing jet diameter in fact)enhances the average heat transfer around the surface for the same curved surface.On the other hand,the average Nusselt number decreases as relative nozzle to surface distance increases for a fixed jet diameter.Finally,experimental data-based correlations of the average Nusselt number over the curved surface were obtained with consideration of surface curvature effect.This work contributes to a better understanding of the curvature effects on heat transfer of a round jet impingement on concave surfaces,which is of high importance to the design of the aircraft anti-icing system.Zhou Ying Lin Guiping Bu Xueqin Bai Lizhan Wen Dongsheng 2017Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,2:6
5Experimental investigation and correlation development of jet impingement heat transfer with two rows of aligned jet holes on an internal surface of a wing leading edge显示文摘Extensive experimental studies on the heat transfer characteristics of two rows of aligned jet holes impinging on a concave surface in a wing leading edge were conducted, where50000 Rej 90000, 1.74 H/d 27.5, 66° a 90°, and 13.2 r/d 42.03. The finding was that the heat transfer performance at the jet-impingement stagnation point with two rows of aligned jet holes was the same as that with a single row of jet holes or the middle row of three-row configurations when the circumferential angle of the two jet holes was larger than 30°. The attenuation coefficient distribution of the jet impingement heat transfer in the chordwise direction was so complicated that two zones were divided for a better analysis. It indicated that: the attenuation coefficient curve in the jet impingement zone exhibited an approximate upside-down bell shape with double peaks and a single valley; the attenuation coefficient curve in the non-jet impingement zone was like a half-bell shape, which was similar to that with three rows of aligned jet holes; the factors,including Rej, H/d and r/d, affected the attenuation coefficient value at the valley significantly.When r/d was increased from 30.75 to 42.03, the attenuation rates of attenuation coefficient increased only by 1.8%. 6Convective heat transfer characters of nanoparticle enhanced latent functionally thermal fluid显示文摘The latent heat of the microencapsulated phase change material(MPCM)increases the effective ther-mal capacity of latent functionally thermal fluid.However,researchers found that the heat transfer performance of such fluids was diminished due to the reduction of the low thermal conductivity of MPCM.For this reason,the nanoparticle enhanced latent functionally thermal fluids were formulated and the heat transfer behaviors of these fluids in a vertical circular tube at the laminar regime were conducted.The result showed that slurries containing 0.5% TiO2 nanoparticles by mass and 5%―20% MPCM by mass exhibited improved heat transfer rates in comparison with the conventional latent functionally thermal fluid and that the enhancement increased with the increasing MPCM concentration and up to 18.9% of the dimensionless wall temperature was reduced.WANG Liang LIN GuiPing CHEN HaiSheng DING YuLong 2009Science China(Technological Sciences)2009,52,6:4
7Numerical simulation of heat transfer of latent functionally thermal fluid in tubes with coaxially inserted cylindrical bars in laminar显示文摘The heat transfer of latent functionally thermal fluid in three kinds of tubes with coaxially inserted cylindrical bars is numerically researched using equivalent spe- cific heat model, and the flow fields are analyzed with field synergy field. It is found that in the tubes with coaxially inserted cylindrical bars, the heat transfer effects of functionally thermal fluid become more and more pronounced with the Ste de- creasing. This is similar to be case of functionally thermal fluid flowing in smooth straight tubes. Compared with the results receiving from smooth straight tubes, the heat transfer of functional thermal fluid in tubes with coaxially inserted cylindrical bars has been significantly enhanced. 8Thermal performance of a 3D printed lattice-structure heat sink packaging phase change material显示文摘Thermal storage technology is becoming more and more significant with the increase of high-power equipment in space applications.In this paper,3 D printing technology and Phase Change Material(PCM)were combined into a Thermal Energy Storage(TES)system,which could fulfill the requirements of light weight and high thermal conductivity.A 3 D-printed lattice-structure TES plate with N-tetradecane as the PCM and aluminum alloy as the thermal conductivity enhancer was manufactured,and experimentally tested in a thermal vacuum chamber.In addition,a simplified simulation model of the lattice cell was established to clearly analyze the heat transfer process of the TES plate.The effects of initial temperature distribution and heat load gradient on the thermal storage performances were investigated experimentally and theoretically.The equivalent thermal conductivity of the 3 D-printed lattice-structure TES plate turns out to be 13 times of the pure PCM thanks to the aluminum skeleton.The heat transfer enhancement appears at the end of the phase change stage due to the sudden mixture of the PCM with different temperature.The simulation results agree well with the experimental data.The equivalent thermal conductivity obtained by the phase change simulations are a little higher than those of the experiments,which is mainly caused by the initial uneven temperature distribution in the tests.Additionally,the effects of non-uniform heat load and the presence of the PCM in the TES plate are studied.This work successfully validates the feasibility and effectiveness of 3 D printing technology and TES technology for the temperature control in space applications.Yuandong GUO Huning YANG Guiping LIN Haichuan JIN Xiaobin SHEN Jiang HE Jianyin MIAO 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,5:2
9Evolution of Neolithic site distribution(9.0–4.0 ka BP) in Anhui,East China显示文摘Based on archaeological surveys of Neolithic cultural development and GIS spatial analysis,this study reproduced the main characteristics of temporal distribution and settlement selection of the sites from the Neolithic Age in Anhui and identified a relationship between environmental evolution and human activity.The results show that altitude,slope direction,and slope gradient were consistent among the settlements at different stages of the Neolithic Age in Anhui,and the sites were mostly distributed in hilly and plain areas on southeast-or south-facing slopes of low gradients close to rivers.We determined that early Neolithic Age(9.0–7.0 ka BP) sites were scattered in small numbers and likely had little cultural exchange with communities of other provinces.The environmental characteristics of various regions in Anhui indicated that the climate was warm and humid with extensive water distribution.The sites of the mid Neolithic Age(7.0–5.0 ka BP) increased rapidly with wide distribution.They were mainly distributed in the plain area north of the Huaihe River and the southwestern areas of Anhui.In the mid Neolithic Age,the warm and humid climate gradually dried,and our ancestors slowly developed cultural exchanges.The largest number of sites existed during the late Neolithic Age(5.0–4.0 ka BP),and were distributed throughout the province.During this period,the overall climate was relatively dry,but humans could still obtain water and other resources through migration.The relatively benign climate facilitated cultural interaction and exchange,which increased during this time,and the Wanjiang culture matured.We also determined that as early civilization evolved,cultures in different regions responded differently to environmental changes.In humid subtropical regions,especially in low-lying plains and areas beside lakes,rivers,and coastal areas,the relatively dry climate in the late period of the middle Holocene,prefaced by a period of high humidity,was conducive to the development of human culture.The evidence from the Neolithic settlements in Anhui therefore reflects this subtropical man-land relationship between cultural development and environmental conditions.WU Li SUN Xiaoling SUN Wei ZHU Cheng ZHU Tongxin LU Shuguang ZHOU Hui GUO Qingchun GUAN Houchun XIE Wei KE Rui LIN Guiping 2020Journal of Geographical Sciences2020,30,9:2
10A simple method for solving unidirectional methane gas flow in coal seam based on similarity solution显示文摘The equation used to model the unidirectional flow of methane gas in coal seams is usually formulated as a nonlinear partial differential equation, which needs to be solved numerically with a computer program.Nevertheless, for people without access to the computer program, the conventional numerical method may be inconvenient. Thus, the objective here is to seek some method simpler than the conventional one for solving the flow problem. A commonly used model of the unidirectional methane gas flow is considered, where the methane adsorption is described by the Langmuir isotherm and the free gas is treated as real gas. By introducing the similarity solution, a simple method for solving the flow model is proposed, which can be done on a hand calculator. 11Biomimetic ultrathin pepsomes for photo-controllable catalysis显示文摘Artificial vesicles for mimicking the unique structures and functions of natural organelles represent a promising scientific object in biomimicry.However,the development of the stimuli-responsive and ultrathin vesicles assembled from sequence-defined biomimetic polymers for controllable applications is still a significant challenge.Herein,we report the self-assembly of azobenzene-based amphiphilic alternating peptoids to generate photo-responsive and ultrathin peptoid vesicle(pepsomes)with an average diameter of∼180 nm.Both cryo-transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and dissipative particle dynamics simulation proved that the vesicular membrane was the ultrathin bilayer structure around∼1.6 nm.The photo-responsive ability of pepsomes was demonstrated by the reversible size changes upon the alternative irradiation with ultraviolet(UV)and visible lights,which was attributable to the photoisomerization virtue of azobenzene moiety.As a proof-of-concept,the photo-controllable catalytic action of gold nanoparticles-decorated pepsomes was evaluated toward the borohydride-mediated reduction from 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol.Photo-controllable reversible and recyclable catalytic activity was effectively modulated using the alternative irradiation with UV and visible lights for five cycles.Our work provides a simple strategy to prepare stimuli-responsive and ultrathin vesicles for potential application on nanocatalysis.Guiping Peng Haibao Jin Fan Liu Xiaoyan Yang Pengliang Sui Shaoliang Lin 2022Science China Chemistry2022,65,12:1
