| 1 | Beneficial effects of Houttuynia cordata polysaccharides on “two-hit” acute lung injury and endotoxic fever in rats associated with anti-complementary activities显示文摘Houttuynia cordata Thunb. is a traditional herb used for clearing heat and eliminating toxins,and has also been used for the treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS). In vitro, the crude H. cordata polysaccharides(CHCP) exhibited potent anti-complementary activity through both the classical and alternative pathways by acting on components C3 and C4 of the complement system without interfering with the coagulation system. This study was to investigate the preventive effects of CHCP on acute lung injury(ALI) induced by hemorrhagic shock plus lipopolysaccharide(LPS) instillation(two-hit)and LPS-induced fever in rats. CHCP significantly attenuated pulmonary injury in the 'two-hit' ALI model by reducing pulmonary edema and protein exudation in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF). In addition, it reduced the deposit of complement activation products in the lung and improved oxidantantioxidant imbalance. Moreover, CHCP administration inhibited fever in rats, reduced the number of leukocytes and restored serum complement levels. The inhibition on the inappropriate activation of complement system by CHCP may play an important role in its beneficial effects on inflammatory diseases. | 8 | Catalytic Hydrogenation of Acetic Acid to Acetaldehyde: Synergistic Effect of Bifunctional Co/Ce-Fe Oxide Solid Solution Catalysts显示文摘The large-scale industrial production of acetic acid (HAc) from carbonylation of methanol has enabled intense research interest from direct hydrogenation of HAc to acetaldehyde (AA).Herein,a series of cerium-iron oxide solid solution supported metallic cobalt catalysts were prepared by modified sol-gel method and were applied in gas-phase hydrogenation of HAc to AA.A synergistic effect between the hydrogenation metal cobalt and Ce-Fe oxide solid solution is revealed.Specifically,oxygen vacancies provide the active sites for adsorption of HAc,while highly uniformly dispersed metallic Co adsorbs H2 and activates the reduction of HAc into AA.Moreover,the metallic Co can also assist the cyclical conversion between Fe3+/Fe2+ and Ce3+/Ce4+ on the surface of Ce1.xFexO2-δ supports.The unique effect substantially enhances the ability of the support material to rapidly capture oxygen atoms from HAc.It is found that the catalyst of 5% Co/Ce0.8Fe0.2O2-δ with the highest concentration of oxygen vacancy presents the best catalytic performance (i.e.acetaldehyde yield reaches 49.9%) under the optimal reaction conditions (i.e.623 K and H2 flow rate =10 mL/min).This work indicates that the Co/Ce-Fe oxide solid solution catalyst can be potentially used for the selective hydrogenation from HAc to AA.The synergy between the metallic Co and Ce1-xFexO2-δ revealed can be extended to the design of other composite catalysts. | Naixu Li Qi Zhang Rehana Bibi Quanhao Shen Richard Ngulube Yunyi Liu Jiancheng Zhou | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2019,37,7: | 2 |
| 9 | Development of a C3c-based ELISA method for the determination of anti-complementary potency of Bupleurum polysaccharides显示文摘Traditionally, determination of inhibitory potency of complement inhibitors is performed by the hemolytic assay. However, this assay is not applicable to the lectin pathway, thus impeding the understanding of complement inhibitors against the overall function of the complement system. The main objective of our study was to develop a specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) as an alternative method to assess the anti-complement activity, particularly against the lectin pathway. By using respective coating substrates against different activation pathways, followed by capturing the stable C3c fragments, our ELISA method can be used to screen complement inhibitors against the classical pathway and the lectin pathway. The inhibitory effect of suramin on the classical pathway, as measured by our hemolytic assay is consistent with previous reports. Further assessment of suramin and Bupleurum polysaccharides against the lectin pathway showed a good reproducibility of the method. Comparison of the lectin pathway IC50 between Bupleurum smithii var. parvifolium polysaccharides(1.055 mg/mL) and Bupleurum chinense polysaccharides(0.98 mg/mL) showed that, similar to the classical and alterative pathway, these two Bupleurum polysaccharides had comparable anti-complementary properties against the lectin pathway. | 16 | Tractor path tracking control based on binocular vision显示文摘In the process of field operation management,determining how to accurately realize crop row identification and path tracking control is an essential part of tractor automatic navigation.According to the linear operation in the process of cotton field management,the tractor path tracking control system was designed based on binocular vision and the pure pursuit model.A new crop row detection method based on the Census transform and the PID control algorithm with dead zone were used.First,the upper computer software was developed by C++with the functions of parameter setting and image acquisition and processing.Second,an automatic steering controller was developed based on microprocessor MC9S12XS128 of Freescale.The control program was developed based on modular design using CodeWarrior during development of the PID-based automatic steering control strategy.Finally,a field experiment platform of tractor path tracking control was built,and field experiments under the actual cotton were conducted.The optimal visibility distance was determined by several previous experiments.When the tractor tracks the path with the optimal visibility distance in the growth environment of actual cotton crops,the mean absolute deviation of course angle was 0.95°,and the standard deviation was 1.26°;the mean absolute deviation of lateral position was 4.00 cm,and the standard deviation was 4.97 cm;the mean absolute deviation of front wheel angle was 2.99°,and the standard deviation was 3.67°.The experimental results show that(1)the crop row detection method based on Census transform can identify the crop line and plan the navigation path well,and(2)the tractor path tracking control system based on binocular vision has good stability and high control precision;thus,the control systemcan realize the automatic path tracking control of cotton line operation and meets the agricultural requirements of cotton field operation management. | Shuo Zhang Yunyi Wang Zhongxiang Zhu Zhen Li Yuefeng Du Enrong Mao | 2018 | Information Processing in Agriculture2018,5,4: | 1 |
