| 3 | Effects of icariin on cGMP-specific PDE5 and cAMP-specific PDE4 activities显示文摘Aim:To clarify the mechanism of the therapeutic action of icariin on erectlile dysfunction(ED).Methods:PDE5 was isolated from the human platelet and PDE4 form the rat liver tissue using the FPLC system (Pharmacia,Milton Keynes,UK)and the Mono Q column.The inhibitory effects of icariin on PDE5 and PDE4 activities were investigated by the two-step radioisotope procedure with [^3H]-c GMP/[^3H]-cAMP.Papaverine served as the control drug.Results:Icariin and papaverine showed dose-dependent inhibitory effects on PDE5 and PDE4 activities.The IC50 of Icariin and papaverine on PDE5 were 0.432μ mol/L and 0.680μmol/L,respectively and those on PDE4,73.50μmol/L and 3.07μmol/L,respectively.The potencies of selectivity of icariin and papaverine on PDE5(PDE4/PDE5 of IC50)were 167.67 times and 4.54 times,respectively.Conclusion:Icariin is a cGMP-specific PDE5 inhibitor that may be developed into an oral effective agent for the treatment of ED. | ZC Xin EK Kim CS Lin WJ Liu L Tian YM Yuan J Fu | 2003 | Asian Journal of Andrology2003,5,1: | 38 |

| 8 | Combinations of Hd2 and Hd4 genes determine rice adaptability to Heilongjiang Province, northern limit of China显示文摘Heading date is a key trait in rice domestication and adaption, and a number of quantitative trait loci(QTLs)have been identified. The rice(Oryza sativa L.) cultivars in the Heilongjiang Province, the northernmost region of China,have to flower extremely early to fulfill their life cycle.However, the critical genes or different gene combinations controlling early flowering in this region have not been determined. QTL and candidate gene analysis revealed that Hd2/Ghd7.1/Os PRR37 plays a major role in controlling rice distribution in Heilongjiang. Further association analysis with a collection of rice cultivars demonstrated that another three major QTL genes(Hd4/Ghd7, Hd5/DTH8/Ghd8, and Hd1)also participate in regulating heading date under natural long day(LD) conditions. Hd2/Ghd7.1/Os PRR37 and Hd4/Ghd7 are two major QTLs and function additively. With the northward rice cultivation, the Hd2/Ghd7.1/Os PRR37 and Hd4/Ghd7 haplotypes became non-functional alleles. Hd1 might be non-functional in most Heilongjiang rice varieties,implying that recessive hd1 were selected during local rice breeding. Non-functional Hd5/DTH8/Ghd8 is very rare, but constitutes a potential target for breeding extremely early flowering cultivars. | 9 | Preparation of modified Ce-SAPO-34 catalysts and their catalytic performances of methanol to olefins显示文摘The modified Ce-SAPO-34 catalysts were prepared with three methods, i.e., the liquid ion exchange with air calcination, impregnation with air calcination and impregnation with steam calcination methods. The catalytic performances of the catalysts for methanol to olefins were investigated. The properties of the catalysts were characterized using XRD, BET, XRF, FT-IR and NH3-TPD. The results indicated that compared to the SAPO-34 catalyst the catalyst prepared with the impregnation and air calcination prolonged the lifetime by 40 min and improved the selectivity to ethylene by 5% (mol) and the catalyst prepared with the impregnation and steam calcination showed the best modification effect, prolonging the lifetime by 70 min and improving the ethylene selectivity by 10% (mol). The catalyst prepared with the liquid ion exchange showed similar behaviour as the SAPO-34 catalyst. | 11 | Effects of seasonal water-level fluctuation on soil pore structure in the Three Gorges Reservoir,China显示文摘Inundation of the Three Gorges Reservoir has created a 30-m water-level fluctuation zone with seasonal hydrological alternations of submergence and exposure, which may greatly affect soil properties and bank stability. The aim of this study was to investigate the response of soil pore structure to seasonal water-level fluctuation in the reservoir, and particularly, the hydrological change of wetting and drying cycles. Soil pore structure was visualized with industrial X-ray computed tomography and digital image analysis techniques. The results showed that soil total porosity(? 100 ?m), total pore number, total throat number, and mean throat surface area increased significantly under wetting and drying cycles. Soil porosity, pore number and throat numberwithin each size class increased in the course of wetting and drying cycles. The coordination number, degree of anisotropy and fractal dimension were indicating an increase. In contrast, the mean shape factor, pore-throat ratio, and Euler-Poincaré number decreased due to wetting and drying cycles. These illustrated that the wetting and drying cycles made soil pore structure become more porous, continuous, heterogeneous and complex. | 12 | Neogene Paleoseismic Events and the Shanwang Biota's Burial in the Linqu Area,Shandong Province,China显示文摘Several paleoseismic events are recorded in the Neogene Linqu Group, exposed in the Linqu area, Shandong Province, China. The events were interpreted on the basis of fieldwork and laboratory analysis, which showed the presence of seismites with plastically deformed soft-sediment deformation structures in the Shanwang Formation, and of seismic volcanic rocks in the Yaoshan Formation which show brittle deformation. The earthquake-triggered soft-sediment deformations in the seismites include load structures, ball-and-pillow structures, flame structures, pillow-like beds, boudinage structures, slump folds, syn-depositional faults, veins of liquefied sand, and dikes of liquefied sandy lime-mud. The seismic activity is also reflected in what might be called ‘brittle seismites'; these originated when, under the influence of seismic vibrations, semi-consolidated conglomerate was shattered. Moreover, volcanic activity is related to intense earthquakes that affected basalts intercalated with sand layers; these successions are known as ‘seismic volcanic rocks', which are characterized by veins of liquefied sand intruding the basalts. All above traces of paleoseismic activity were left from one single time span of 4 Ma with active seismicity that took place 14–10 Ma. This time span is known as ‘the Linqu Neogene Paleoseismic Active Period', which is divided into four paleoseismic episodes, which were responses to tectonic extension and basin rifting in this area. It even includes the activity of the Yishu Fault Zone during the Miocene and the Neogene. The ratios of trace elements in the seismites, w(La)/w(Sc) and w(La)/w(Th) are higher than the average value of the upper crust, but w(Th)/w(Sc) is lower; this is geochemical evidence for the basin rifting that resulted in a high sedimentation rate. The intense and frequent paleo-earthquakes are held responsible for the rapid burial of the Shanwang Biota. We examined electrophysiological measures during recognition failure in order to determine the influence of retrieval orientation for item versus source information. Recognition failure was associated with brain potentials distinct from those associated with success. Furthermore, source-memory failures were associated with earlier-onset brain potentials with a more anterior distribution compared to item-memory failures. | 15 | Surgical treatment for primary angle closure-glaucoma: a Meta analysis显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of trabeculectomy,phacotrabeculectomy plus intraocular lens implantation(phacotrab+IOL group) and phacoemulsification with IOL(phaco+IOL) in primary angle-closure glaucoma(PACG).METHODS: It was a systematic review and meta-analysis,randomized controlled trials(RCT) and clinical controlled trials(CCT) were collected through electronic searches of the Cochrane Library,PubMed,EMbase,Wanfang Database online,Chinese journal Full-text Database,Chinese Scientific Journals Full-text Database (from the date of building the database to October 2010) We also checked the bibliographies of retrieved articles.All the related data that matched our standards were abstracted.The quality of included trials was evaluated according to the Dutch Cochrane Centre.RevMan 5.0 software was used for Meta-analysis.RESULTS: A total of 5 RCT and 11 CCT involving 1495 eyes were included.The results of meta-analysis showed that phacotrab+IOL group was superior than trabeculectomy(trab group) (MD -3.93,95%CI [-7.31,-0.54]) which was also superior than phaco+IOL group(MD 0.52,95%CI [0.10,0.95]) in decreasing Intraocular Pressure(IOP).Phacotrab group(MD -1.45,95%CI [-1.68,-1.22])and phaco group (MD-1.12,95%CI [-1.87,-0.37])are both deeper than trab group in the anterior chamber depth.In increasing the coefficient of outflow facility of aqueous humor(C values) there was no statistical difference in the three groups.And there was no statistical difference between phacotrab groups and phaco groups in visual acuity but phacotrab group was superior than phaco group (MD 1.07,95%CI [0.73,1.40])in the use of IOP-lowering drugs.There was no statistical difference among three groups.CONCLUSION: Current evidence suggests that phacotrab+ IOL group was superior than trab group which was also superior than phaco+IOL group in decreasing IOP.Phacotrab group and phaco group are both deeper than trab group in the anterior chamber depth.Phacotrab group was superior than phaco group in the use of IOP-lowering drugs. | Bo-Lin Deng, Jing Tian | 2011 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2011,4,3: | 5 |

| 18 | Shape and position of Earth's bow shock near-lunar orbit based on ARTEMIS data显示文摘Earth's bow shock is the result of interaction between the supersonic solar wind and Earth's magnetopause. However, data limitations mean the model of the shape and position of the bow shock are based largely on near-Earth satellite data. The model of the bow shock in the distant magnetotail and other factors that affect the bow shock, such as the interplanetary magnetic field(IMF) B_y, remain unclear. Here, based on the bow shock crossings of ARTEMIS from January 2011 to January 2015, new coefficients of the tail-flaring angle a of the Chao model(one of the most accurate models currently available) were obtained by fitting data from the middle-distance magnetotail(near-lunar orbit, geocentric distance -20R_E>X>-50R_E). In addition, the effects of the IMF B_y on the flaring angle a were analyzed. Our results showed that:(1) the new fitting coefficients of the Chao model in the middle-distance magnetotail are more consistent with the observed results;(2) the tail-flaring angle a of the bow shock increases as the absolute value of the IMF B_y increases. Moreover, positive IMF B_y has a greater effect than negative IMF B_y on flaring angle. | 19 | Assessing current stocks and future sequestration potential of forest biomass carbon in Daqing Mountain Nature Reserve of Inner Mongolia, China显示文摘Assessment of regional forest carbon stocks and underlying controls is critical for guiding forest management in the context of carbon sequestration. We investigated the variations in tree biomass carbon stocks relating to forest types, and estimated the total tree biomass carbon stocks and projected gains through natural stand development by 2020 and 2050 in the Daqing Mountain Nature Reserve based on Category II data of the Forest Inventory of Inner Mongolia for the period ending 2008. Over a total area of 388,577 ha,this nature reserve currently stores an estimated 2221 Gg C in tree aboveground biomass alone, with potential to grow by more than 30 % to reach 2938 Gg C by 2020 and nearly double to 4092 Gg C by 2050 through natural development of the existing forest stands. The tree biomass carbon density and potential gain in tree biomass carbon stocks vary markedly among forest types and with stand development.The variations in the potential change of tree biomass carbon density for the periods 2008–2020 and 2008–2050 among forest types partly reflect the varying relationships of tree biomass carbon density with stand age for different tree species, and partly are attributable to variations in the stand age structure among different forest types. Of the major forest types, the ranking of projected changes in tree biomass carbon density are not consistent with variations in the relationship between tree biomass carbon density and stand age, neither are they explainable by variations in stand age structures, implying the interactive effect between forest type and stand dynamics on temporal changes in tree biomass carbon density. Birch rank highest for future biomass carbon sequestration because of its dominance in cover area and better age structure for potential gain in tree biomass carbon stocks. Poplar and larch were out-performers compared to other forest types given their greater contribution to total tree biomass carbon stocks relative to their distributional areas. Findings in this study illustrate that protection and proper management of under-aged forests can deliver marked gains in biomass carbon sequestration.
