Analysis and use of fuzzy intelligent technique for navigation of humanoid robot in obstacle prone zone显示文摘With the increasing use of humanoid robots in several sectors of industrial automation and manufacturing, navigation and path planning of humanoids has emerged as one of the most promising area of research. In this paper, a navigational controller has been developed for a humanoid by using fuzzy logic as an intelligent algorithm for avoiding the obstacles present in the environment and reach the desired target position safely. Here, the controller has been designed by careful consideration of the navigational parameters by the help of fuzzy rules. The sensory information regarding obstacle distances and bearing angle towards the target are considered as inputs to the controller and necessary velocities for avoiding the obstacles are obtained as outputs. The working of the controller has been tested on a NAO humanoid robot in V-REP simulation platform. To validate the simulation results, an experimental platform has been designed under laboratory conditions, and experimental analysis has been performed. Finally, the results obtained from both the environments are compared against each other with a good agreement between them. | Asita Kumar Rath Dayal R.Parhi Harish Chandra Das Manoj Kumar Muni Priyadarshi Biplab Kumar | 2018 | Defence Technology(防务技术)2018,14,6: | 7
Ebola virus disease: past, present and future显示文摘Ebola virus disease is one of the most deadly ailments known to mankind due to its high mortality rate(up to 90%) accompanying with the disease. Ebola haemorrhagic fever(EHF) is an infectious disease of animal that can be transmitted to both human and non-human primates. The first epidemic of EHF occurred in 1976 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The incubation period of ebola is less than 21 days. Ebola virus infections are depicted by immune suppression and a systemic inflammatory response that leads to damage of the vascular, coagulation and immune systems, causing multi-organ failure and shock. Five genetically distinct members of the Filoviridae family responsible for EHF are as follows: Zaire ebolavirus, Sudan ebolavirus, C?te d'Ivoire ebolavirus, Bundibugyo ebolavirus and Reston ebolavirus. The ongoing 2014 West Africa ebola epidemic has been considered as the most serious panic in the medical field with respect to both the number of human cases and death toll. The natural host for ebola virus is unknown, thus it is not possible to carry out programs to regulate or abolish virus from transmission to people. The ebola virus infection provides little chance to develop acquired immunity causing rapid progression of the disease. It is pertinent to mention that at present, there is no antiviral therapy or vaccine that is helpful against ebola virus infection in humans. The impediment of EHF necessitates much better understanding of the epidemiology of the disease, particularly the role of wildlife, as well as bats, in the spread of ebola virus to humans. | Harish Rajak Deepak Kumar Jain Avineesh Singh Ajay Kumar Sharma Anshuman Dixit | 2015 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2015,5,5: | 4

Predicting the presence of adenomatous polyps during colonoscopy with National Cancer Institute Colorectal Cancer Risk-Assessment Tool显示文摘AIM To evaluate the National Cancer Institute(NCI)Colorectal Cancer(CRC)Risk Assessment Tool as a predictor for the presence of adenomatous polyps(AP) found during screening or surveillance colonoscopy.METHODS This is a retrospective single center observational study. We collected data of adenomatous polyps in each colonoscopy and then evaluated the lifetime CRC risk.We calculated the AP prevalence across risk score quintiles, odds ratios of the prevalence of AP across risk score quintiles, area under curves(AUCs)and Youden’s indexes to assess the optimal risk score cut off value for AP prevalence status.RESULTS The prevalence of AP gradually increased throughout the five risk score quintiles:i.e.,27.63%in the first and 51.35%in the fifth quintile. The odd ratios of AP prevalence in the fifth quintile compared to the first and second quintile were 2.76[confidence interval(CI):1.71-4.47]and 2.09(CI:1.32-3.30).The AUC for all patients was 0.62(CI:0.58-0.66).Youden’s Index indicated the optimal risk score cutoff value discriminating AP prevalence status was 3.60.CONCLUSION Patients with the higher NCI risk score have higher risk of AP and subsequent CRC;therefore, measures to increase the effectiveness of CRC detection in these patients include longer withdrawal time, early surveillance colonoscopy, and choosing flexible colonoscopy over other CRC screening modalities. | Hassan Tariq Muhammad Umar Kamal Harish Patel Ravi Patel Muhammad Ameen Shehi Elona Maram Khalifa Sara Azam Aiyi Zhang Kishore Kumar Ahmed Baiomi Danial Shaikh Jasbir Makker | 2018 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2018,24,34: | 3
Comparative study of the results of compound tibial shaft fractures treated by Ilizarov ring fixators and limb reconstruction system fixators显示文摘Purpose: llizarov ring fixator and limb reconstruction system (LRS) fixators have been used in the management of complex tibial fractures with severe soft tissue injuries, compound tibial fractures, and infected tibial nonunion for which conventional internal fixation cannot be contemplated. Fracture union and distraction osteogenesis can be done simultaneously with these external fixators, allowing early weight bearing. Several previous studies have shown almost equal results of rail and ring fixators for the compound tibial shaft fractures. Thus we performed a prospective study to evaluate the union rate, functional outcome and amount of limb lengthening after the treatment of compound tibial shaft fractures with or without infected nonunion by ring or LRS fixators. Methods: This prospective study was done at Sarojini Naidu Medical College and Hospital, Agra, India and included 32 patients of compound tibial shaft fractures with or without infected nonunion. There were 26 males and 6 females and the average age was 40 years. Patients were randomly divided into two groups (n - 16 for each): one underwent llizarov fixation and the other received LRS fixation. Cases were followed up for 3-24 months, 6 months on average from September 2012 to October 2014. Functional and radiological outcomes were assessed using the Association for the Study and Application of Methods of llizarov (ASAMI) criteria for both rail and ring fixators. Results: Union was achieved in all cases. Radiological outcome was found excellent in 68.75%, good in 18.75% and fair in 12.50% of cases treated by rail fixators whereas it was excellent in 56.25%, good in 18.75%, fair in 12.50% and poor in 12.50% of cases treated by ring fixators. Functional result was satis- factory in 75.00% of cases treated by rail fixator and 68.75% of cases treated by ring fixators whereas the corresponding rate of unsatisfactory was 25.00% vs. 31.25%. Conclusion: In our short-term assessment, LRS fixators show a better result than llizarov fixators in terms of fracture union and functional outcome with soft tissue care and limb length. | Chandra Prakash Pal Harish Kumar Deepak Kumar K.S. | 7 | Prevalence of advanced liver fibrosis and steatosis in type-2 diabetics with normal transaminases:A prospective cohort study显示文摘BACKGROUND Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)and type-2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)have an intricate bidirectional relationship.Individuals with T2DM,not only have a higher prevalence of non-alcoholic steatosis, but also carry a higher risk of progression to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.Experts still differ in their recommendations of screening for NAFLD among patients with T2DM.AIM To study the prevalence of NAFLD and advanced fibrosis among our patient population with T2DM.METHODS During the study period(November 2018 to January 2020),59 adult patients with T2DM and 26 non-diabetic control group individuals were recruited prospectively.Patients with known significant liver disease and alcohol use were excluded.Demographic data and lab parameters were recorded.Liver elastography was performed in all patients.RESULTS In the study group comprised of patients with T2DM and normal alanine aminotransferase levels(mean 17.8±7 U/L),81%had hepatic steatosis as diagnosed by elastography.Advanced hepatic fibrosis(stage F3 or F4)was present in 12%of patients with T2DM as compared to none in the control group.Patients with T2DM also had higher number of individuals with grade 3 steatosis[45.8%vs 11.5%,(P<0.00001)and metabolic syndrome(84.7%vs 11.5%,P<0.00001)].CONCLUSION A significant number of patients with T2DM,despite having normal transaminase levels, have NAFLD,grade 3 steatosis and advanced hepatic fibrosis as measured by liver elastography. | Jasbir Makker Hassan Tariq Kishore Kumar Madhavi Ravi Danial Haris Shaikh Vivien Leung Umar Hayat Muhammad T Hassan Harish Patel Suresh Nayudu Sridhar Chilimuri | 2021 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2021,27,6: | 2
Projecting the criticality of COVID-19 transmission in India using GIS and machine learning methods显示文摘There is a new public health catastrophe forbidding the world. With the advent and spread of 2019 novel coro-navirus(2019-nCoV).Learning from the experiences of various countries and the World Health Organization(WHO)guidelines, social distancing, use of sanitizers, thermal screening, quarantining, and provision of lock-down in the cities being the effective measure that can contain the spread of the pandemic.Though complete lockdown helps in containing the spread,it generates complexity by breaking the economic activity chain.Besides, laborers, farmers, and workers may lose their daily earnings.Owing to these detrimental effects, the government has to open the lockdown strategically.Prediction of the COVID-19 spread and analyzing when the cases would stop increasing helps in developing a strategy. An attempt is made in this paper to predict the time after which the number of new cases stops rising, considering the strong implementation of lockdown conditions using three different techniques such as Decision Tree,Support Vector Machine, and Gaussian Process Regression algorithm are used to project the number of cases. Thus, the projections are used in identifying inflection points, which would help in planning the easing of lockdown in a few of the areas strategically. The criticality in a region is evaluated using the criticality index(CI),which is proposed by authors in one of the past of research works. This research work is made available in a dashboard to enable the decision-makers to combat the pandemic. | Farhan Mohammad Khan Akshay Kumar Harish Puppala Gaurav Kumar Rajiv Gupta | 2021 | Journal of Safety Science and Resilience2021,2,2: | 2
Comparison of wear behavior of ABS and Nylon6-Fe powder composite parts prepared with fused deposition modelling显示文摘Fused deposition modeling(FDM) is one of the latest rapid prototyping techniques in which parts can be manufactured at a fast pace and are manufactured with a high accuracy. This research work is carried out to study the friction and wear behavior of parts made of newly developed Nylon6-Fe composite material by FDM. This work also involves the comparison of the friction and wear characteristics of the Nylon6-Fe composite with the existing acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS) filament of the FDM machine. This Is carried out on the pin on disk setup by varying the load(5, 10, 15 and 20 N) and speed(200 and 300 r/min). It is concluded that the newly developed composite is highly wear resistant and can be used in industrial applications where wear resistance is of paramount importance. Morphology of the surface in contact with the Nylon6-Fe composite and ABS is also carried out. | Harish Kumar Garg Rupinder Singh | 2015 | Journal of Central South University2015,22,10: | 2

Environmental variables vis-a-vis distribution of herbaceous tracheophytes on northern sub-slopes in Western Himalayan ecotone显示文摘Background:In the northern hemisphere, the north face of the mountains has a high diversity of species which is attributed to the moist and shady conditions at the north face.Other environmental variables may also influence the species diversity on the northern faces of the mountain and therefore needs to be studied in detail. The northern slopes represent three different sub-slopes—north,north east, and north west.During the current investigation of Pir-Panjal and Dauladhar ranges in Bhadarwah valley,fine-scale studies on the relationship between vegetation and four variables(soil pH,moisture content, electrical conductivity, and steepness)were conducted. The study determined the role of these variables on the vegetation of three different sub-slopes.The sampling was done at the confluence of two communities(forest and grassland)at three sites on the northern sub-slopes of the lesser stratum in western Himalayan. Results:The result revealed that rich herbaceous diversity prevails on the lesser Himalayan stratum(Bhadarwah valley). As many as 65.8%species differ from site to site, whereas species commonality among the sites is minimum. The role of environmental variables on the species composition at different sub-slopes of the north mountain face is deduced through canonical correspondence analysis(CCA).Conclusions:The availability of solar light increases air and soil temperature on the north east–facing slope. All the environmental variables(soil pH,moisture, electrical conductivity, and mountain steepness)are insignificant at pure north face for the species composition. Therefore,it can be concluded that some other environmental variables may influence the species composition which are needed to be further investigated. | Shevita Pandita Vinod Kumar Harish Chander Dutt | 2019 | Ecological Processes2019,8,1: | 1
