| 2 | Predicting the presence of adenomatous polyps during colonoscopy with National Cancer Institute Colorectal Cancer Risk-Assessment Tool显示文摘AIM To evaluate the National Cancer Institute(NCI)Colorectal Cancer(CRC)Risk Assessment Tool as a predictor for the presence of adenomatous polyps(AP) found during screening or surveillance colonoscopy.METHODS This is a retrospective single center observational study.We collected data of adenomatous polyps in each colonoscopy and then evaluated the lifetime CRC risk.We calculated the AP prevalence across risk score quintiles,odds ratios of the prevalence of AP across risk score quintiles,area under curves(AUCs)and Youden’s indexes to assess the optimal risk score cut off value for AP prevalence status.RESULTS The prevalence of AP gradually increased throughout the five risk score quintiles:i.e.,27.63%in the first and 51.35%in the fifth quintile.The odd ratios of AP prevalence in the fifth quintile compared to the first and second quintile were 2.76[confidence interval(CI):1.71-4.47]and 2.09(CI:1.32-3.30).The AUC for all patients was 0.62(CI:0.58-0.66).Youden’s Index indicated the optimal risk score cutoff value discriminating AP prevalence status was 3.60.CONCLUSION Patients with the higher NCI risk score have higher risk of AP and subsequent CRC;therefore,measures to increase the effectiveness of CRC detection in these patients include longer withdrawal time,early surveillance colonoscopy,and choosing flexible colonoscopy over other CRC screening modalities. | Hassan Tariq Muhammad Umar Kamal Harish Patel Ravi Patel Muhammad Ameen Shehi Elona Maram Khalifa Sara Azam Aiyi Zhang Kishore Kumar Ahmed Baiomi Danial Shaikh Jasbir Makker | 2018 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2018,24,34: | 3 |

| 4 | A Comparative Study on the Effects of Vaginal Misoprostol and Vaginal Misoprostol Plus Estradiol on Labor Induction显示文摘Background:Cervical ripening is an important factor in predicting successful labor induction.In an unfavorable cervix,ripening should be done before induction.In this study,the effect of misoprostol and that of misoprostol plus estradiol on cervical ripening were compared.Methods:This randomized,double-blinded study included a total of 190 pregnant women who were identified for pregnancy termination due to maternal or fetal cause at 37 weeks with Bishop score of less than 4.The patients were assessed between April 2015 to April 2016 in two university hospitals at northeast Iran(Omol-Banin Hospital and Emam Reza Hospital,Mashhad).The patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly assigned to two groups:the intervention group(Group A),who received 25 micrograms of vaginal misoprostol plus 50 micrograms of estradiol,and the control group(Group B),who received 25 micrograms of vaginal misoprostol only.Misoprostol was administered at 4-hour intervals until cervical ripening(Bishop score≥8)or upon initiation of active phase in both the groups.The maximum dosage of misoprostol was three doses,whereas estradiol was administered only once.Results:In this study,the main causes of pregnancy termination were ROM and post-term.There was no significant statistical difference in the Bishop score between the two groups(P=0.13).In addition,no significant difference was observed in the duration of time for cervical ripening(Bishop≥8)between the two groups(P=0.7).The duration between drug administration to the initiation of active phase and also from active phase to delivery showed no significant differences between the two groups(P=0.49 and 0.24,respectively).There was also no significant difference in the delivery route(operative vaginal delivery or Cesarean section)(P=0.2 and P=0.91,respectively).Conclusion:From this study,the use of misoprostol plus estradiol did not improve cervical ripening or decrease the induction time.Further studies are recommended to investigate complementary results. | Seyedeh Azam Pourhoseini Sara Mirzaeian Masuomeh Mirteimouri Mona Najaf Najafi Fatemeh Tara Farideh Akahlghi Elham Abdollahi | 2022 | Journal of Clinical and Nursing Research2022,6,2: | 0 |
| 5 | Automatic Microplot Localization Using UAV Images and a Hierarchical Image-Based Optimization Method显示文摘To develop new crop varieties and monitor plant growth,health,and traits,automated analysis of aerial crop images is an attractive alternative to time-consuming manual inspection.To perform per-microplot phenotypic analysis,localizing and detecting individual microplots in an orthomosaic image of a field are major steps.Our algorithm uses an automatic initialization of the known field layout over the orthomosaic images in roughly the right position.Since the orthomosaic images are stitched from a large number of smaller images,there can be distortion causing microplot rows not to be entirely straight and the automatic initialization to not correctly position every microplot.To overcome this,we have developed a three-level hierarchical optimization method.First,the initial bounding box position is optimized using an objective function that maximizes the level of vegetation inside the area.Then,columns of microplots are repositioned,constrained by their expected spacing.Finally,the position of microplots is adjusted individually using an objective function that simultaneously maximizes the area of the microplot overlapping vegetation,minimizes spacing variance between microplots,and maximizes each microplot’s alignment relative to other microplots in the same row and column.The orthomosaics used in this study were obtained from multiple dates of canola and wheat breeding trials.The algorithm was able to detect 99.7%of microplots for canola and 99%for wheat.The automatically segmented microplots were compared to ground truth segmentations,resulting in an average DSC of 91.2%and 89.6%across all microplots and orthomosaics in the canola and wheat datasets. | Sara Mardanisamani Tewodros WAyalew Minhajul Arifin Badhon Nazifa Azam Khan Gazi Hasnat Hema Duddu Steve Shirtliffe Sally Vail Ian Stavness Mark Eramian | 2021 | Plant Phenomics2021,3,1: | 0 |
| 6 | Hepatitis in slaughterhouse workers显示文摘Slaughterhouse workers(SHW) are at increased risk of hepatitis which can occur due to different organisms and should be investigated for viral, bacterial, and parasitic organisms. Slaughter house personnel including butchers are at a higher risk of infections from cuts and blood-letting, with the possible risk of the transmission of blood-borne pathogens to their colleagues. The objective of this review is to evaluate the common etiologies of hepatitis in SHW which will assist in the assessment of these patients presenting with transaminitis. Types of Microorganisms causing hepatitis with their reservoirs, routes of transmission,laboratory diagnosis, clinical features, treatment options and preventive strategies are included in this review. Proper investigation and awareness is of utmost importance as it causes significant financial constraints derived from workers health cost and from livestock production losses when the disease is confirmed.
