2An autotrophic nitrogen removal process:Short-cut nitrification combined with ANAMMOX for treating diluted effluent from an UASB reactor fed by landfill leachate显示文摘A combined process consisting of a short-cut nitrification (SN) reactor and an anaerobic ammonium oxidation upflow anaerobic sludge bed (ANAMMOX) reactor was developed to treat the diluted effluent from an upflow anaerobic sludge bed (UASB) reactor treating high ammonium municipal landfill leachate.The SN process was performed in an aerated upflow sludge bed (AUSB) reactor (working volume 3.05 L),treating about 50% of the diluted raw wastewater.The ammonium removal efficiency and the ratio of NO 2 N to NOx-N in the effluent were both higher than 80%,at a maximum nitrogen loading rate of 1.47 kg/(m 3 ·day).The ANAMMOX process was performed in an UASB reactor (working volume 8.5 L),using the mix of SN reactor effluent and diluted raw wastewater at a ratio of 1:1.The ammonium and nitrite removal efficiency reached over 93% and 95%,respectively,after 70-day continuous operation,at a maximum total nitrogen loading rate of 0.91 kg/(m 3 ·day),suggesting a successful operation of the combined process.The average nitrogen loading rate of the combined system was 0.56 kg/(m 3 ·day),with an average total inorganic nitrogen removal efficiency 87%.The nitrogen in the effluent was mostly nitrate.The results provided important evidence for the possibility of applying SN-ANAMMOX after UASB reactor to treat municipal landfill leachate.Jie Liu Jian'e Zuo Tang Yang Shuquan Zhu Sulin Kuang Kaijun Wang 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,5:26
3Development of transplanting manipulator for hydroponic leafy vegetables显示文摘The production of hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings uses coco-peat as culture substrate in South China.Coco-peat has lowered density than peat-moss,and the friction between substrate block and pickup tool is small.So,it is hard to pick up in mechanism transplantation.In order to increase the friction,the existing transplanting manipulator had relatively complex structures.To simplify the structure of transplanting manipulator and improve the stability of picking up substrate block,four stainless steel fingers with rectangular cross-section were used in this research.A vertical driving was used to realize the coupling effect that could insert and shrink at the same time,by applying different combination of constraints to the steel fingers.This could increase friction between the steel fingers and the substrate block,and then enhance the stability of the substrate block.Different combinations of constraints were applied to the rectangular stainless steel fingers(3 mm×0.8 mm).The working videos of steel fingers were taken by high-speed photography.High-speed motioned analysis software was used to acquire and analyze traces of steel fingers movements.When the length which top end of the steel fingers moved outward(M)is equal to 1.5 mm,the length which guiding part widened(N)is equal to 1 mm,the shrinking distance of steel fingers is 4.2 mm.In this research,16-day hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings were used for performance,which cultivated with coco-peat substrate with the moisture in the substrate at 81%.The transplanting manipulator was attached to a Denso robotic arm to conduct transplanting performance test.When the shrinking distance of steel fingers increased from 0 mm to 3.2 mm and the inserting angle decreased from 80°to 77°,the lifting force of substrate block increased by 118%from 1.45 N to 3.16 N.However,excessive shrinkage stirred the substrate block,which would reduce the friction between the substrate block and pickup parts and lowered the lifting force of pickup part in the substrate block.The experimental results also demonstrated that when the shrinking distance of the steel fingers reached 3.2 mm and the root distribution rate reached 46%,the success rate of transplantation was 80%.When the leafy vegetable plug-seedlings root distribution rate reached 92%,the success rate of transplantation was 96.67%.The degree of root distribution rate was positively correlated with the transplantation success rate.Therefore,in order to ensure an acceptable success rate of transplantation,the root distribution rate of leafy vegetable plug-seedlings should be at least 90%.This study provides a technical reference for developing simplified transplanting manipulator that can be used to transplant the hydroponic leafy vegetable plug-seedlings with coco-peat as the culture substrate.Bo Li Song Gu Qi Chu Yanli Yang Zhongjian Xie Kaijun Fan Xiaogeng Liu 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,6:4
4Methanogenic community dynamics in anaerobic co-digestion of fruit and vegetable waste and food waste显示文摘A lab-scale continuously-stirred tank reactor (CSTR), used for anaerobic co-digestion of fruit and vegetable waste (FVW) and food waste (FW) at different mixture ratios, was operated for 178 days at the organic loading rate of 3 kg VS (volatile solids)/(m3·day). The dynamics of the Archaeal community and the correlations between environmental variables and methanogenic community structure were analyzed by polymerase chain reactions-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) and redundancy analysis (RDA), respectively. PCR-DGGE results demonstrated that the mixture ratio of FVW to FW altered the community composition of Archaea. As the FVW/FW ratio increased, Methanoculleus, Methanosaeta and Methanosarcina became the predominant methanogens in the community. Redundancy analysis results indicated that the shift of the methanogenic community was significantly correlated with the composition of acidogenic products and methane production yield. Different mixture ratios of substrates led to different compositions of intermediate metabolites, which may affect the methanogenic community. 5Autonomous navigation method and technology implementation of high-precision solar spectral velocity measurement显示文摘The velocity information of spacecraft can be directly obtained by the autonomous navigation method based on astronomical spectral velocity measurement. It provides complete direct velocity measurement information for the traditional navigation methods represented by astronomical angle measurement and astronomical ranging, which is of great significance for spacecraft high precision autonomous navigation. This paper comprehensively introduces the principle and navigation method of astronomical spectral velocity measurement, as well as the technical realization of the solar atomic frequency discriminator for autonomous navigation(SAFDAN) based on atomic frequency discrimination velocity measurement. The new SAFDAN is the first instrument to measure the Doppler velocity of spacecraft relative to the Sun. 6Analysis on Chinese Airline Network Invulnerability显示文摘Air transportation systems are often subject to failures or attacks induced by unexpected abominable weather or temporal airspace occupation, while complex networks have been springing up as a convenient yet efficient tool to represent and analyze various realistic complex systems such as realistic airline system. In terms of Chinese airline network formed during the spring festival timespan, structural empirical research and invulnerability simulation analysis against various deliberate attack strategies were made using complex network theory, where nodes and edges denotes domestic airports and direct flights between them respectively. 7Air plasma-sprayed high-entropy (Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Eu_(0.2)Er_(0.2))_(3)Al_(5)O_(12) coating with high thermal protection performance显示文摘High-entropy rare-earth aluminate(Y_(0.2)Yb_(0.2)Lu_(0.2)Eu_(0.2)Er_(0.2))_(3)Al_(5)O_(12)(HE-RE_(3)Al_(5)O_(12))has been considered as a promising thermal protection coating(TPC)material based on its low thermal conductivity and close thermal expansion coefficient to that of Al2O3.However,such a coating has not been experimentally prepared,and its thermal protection performance has not been evaluated.To prove the feasibility of utilizing HE-RE_(3)Al_(5)O_(12) as a TPC,HE-RE_(3)Al_(5)O_(12) coating was deposited on a nickelbased superalloy for the first time using the atmospheric plasma spraying technique.The stability,surface,and cross-sectional morphologies,as well as the fracture surface of the HE-RE_(3)Al_(5)O_(12) coating were investigated,and the thermal shock resistance was evaluated using the oxyacetylene flame test.The results show that the HE-RE_(3)Al_(5)O_(12) coating can remain intact after 50 cycles at 1200℃ for 200 s,while the edge peeling phenomenon occurs after 10 cycles at 1400℃ for 200 s.This study clearly demonstrates that HE-RE_(3)Al_(5)O_(12) coating is effective for protecting the nickel-based superalloy,and the atmospheric plasma spraying is a suitable method for preparing this kind of coatings.Kailun WANG Jinpeng ZHU Hailong WANG Kaijun YANG Yameng ZHU Yubin QING Zhuang MA Lihong GAO Yanbo LIU Sihao WEI Yongchun SHU Yanchun ZHOU Jilin HE 2022Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,10:2

11Immediate and legacy effects of snow exclusion on soil fungal diversity and community composition显示文摘Background:Soil fungi play crucial roles in ecosystem functions.However,how snow cover change associated with winter warming affects soil fungal communities remains unclear in the Tibetan forest.Methods:We conducted a snow manipulation experiment to explore immediate and legacy effects of snow exclusion on soil fungal community diversity and composition in a spruce forest on the eastern Tibetan Plateau.Soil fungal communities were performed by the high throughput sequencing of gene-fragments.Results:Ascomycota and Basidiomycota were the two dominant fungal phyla and Archaeorhizomyces,Aspergillus and Amanita were the three most common genera across seasons and snow manipulations.Snow exclusion did not affect the diversity and structure of soil fungal community in both snow-covered and snow-free seasons.However,the relative abundance of some fungal communities was different among seasons.Soil fungal groups were correlated with environmental factors(i.e.,temperature and moisture)and soil biochemical variables(i.e.,ammonium and enzyme).Conclusions:These results suggest that the season-driven variations had stronger impacts on soil fungal community than short-term snow cover change.Such findings may have important implications for soil microbial processes in Tibetan forests experiencing significant decreases in snowfall.Li Zhang Yuzhi Ren Kaijun Yang Zhijie Li Bo Tan Yang Liu Han Li Chengming You Sining Liu Lixia Wang Rui Yin Jian Zhang Zhenfeng Xu 2021Forest Ecosystems2021,8,2:1
12Early application of nerve growth factor affects serum inflammatory cytokine levels in neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy显示文摘BACKGROUND: It has been demonstrated that there are changes of various cytokines, chemokines and adhesion factors in neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). What are the changes of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 in serum of HIE neonates. OBJECTIVE: To observe the dynamic changes of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 in peripheral serum at different time after HIE in neonates, and analyze the possible therapeutic efficacy of early application of NGF. DESIGN: A non-randomized controlled observation synchronically. SETTING: Department of Neonatology, Sun Yat-sen Hospital affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University. PARTICIPANTS: Sixty neonates with HIE were selected from the Department of Neonatology, Sun Yat-sen Hospital affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University from January 2004 to October 2006, including 32 boys and 28 girls, who were all accorded with the diagnostic standards for moderate to severe HIE. The neonates were divided into two groups NGF-treated group (n =30), HIE group (n =30). The HIE neonates in the NGF-treated group were given routine treatment and intramuscular injection of NGF within 24 hours after birth. Those in the HIE group were given routine treatments. Meanwhile, 30 apneic normal neonates (17 boys and 13 girls) at the same period were selected as the control group. The gestational age was 37–42 weeks in all the three groups, the body mass at birth was 2 500–4 000 g. Informed contents were obtained from the relatives of all the enrolled neonates. METHODS: The HIE neonates in the NGF-treated group were given routine treatment and intramuscular injection of NGF (2 000 U) within 24 hours after birth, once a day, 10 days as a course. Those in the HIE group were given routine treatments. Blood samples (3 mL) were drawn from femoral vein in all the neonates 1, 3 and 7 days after birth. The levels of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 in serum were detected with enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA). MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Serum levels of interleukin-6 and interleukin-18 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth. RESULTS: All the 60 HIE neonates and 30 normal neonates were involved in the final analysis of results. ① Serum level of interleukin-6: The serum levels of interleukin-6 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the HIE group were all lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05), and gradually recovered to the normal level as time prolonged. The serum levels of interleukin-6 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the NGF-treated group were higher than those in the HIE group (P < 0.05). ②Serum level of interleukin-18: The serum levels of interleukin-18 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the HIE group were all higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05), especially that at 3 days. The serum levels of interleukin-18 at 1, 3 and 7 days after birth in the NGF-treated group were lower than those in the HIE group (P < 0.05). 13Multi-Scale Superhydrophobic Anti-Icing Coating for Wind Turbine Blades显示文摘As a surface functional material,super-hydrophobic coating has great application potential in wind turbine blade anti-icing,self-cleaning and drag reduction.In this study,ZnO and SiO2 multi-scale superhydrophobic coatings with mechanical flexibility were prepared by embedding modified ZnO and SiO2 nanoparticles in PDMS.The prepared coating has a higher static water contact angle(CA is 153°)and a lower rolling angle(SA is 3.3°),showing excellent super-hydrophobicity.Because of its excellent superhydrophobic ability and micro-nano structure,the coating has good anti-icing ability.Under the conditions of−10C and 60%relative humidity,the coating can delay the freezing time by 1511S,which is 10.7 times slower than the normal freezing time.More importantly,due to the mechanical properties provided by SiO2 and the synergistic effect of micro-nano particles,the coating has excellent mechanical durability.After 10 wear tests,the contact angle of the coating is still as high as 141°and the rolling angle is 6.8°.This research provides a theoretical reference for the preparation of a mechanically stable coating with a simple preparation process,as well as a basic research on the anti-icing behavior of the coating.Jiangyong Bao Jianjun He Biao Chen Kaijun Yang Jun Jie Ruifeng Wang Shihao Zhang 2021Energy Engineering2021,118,4:1

16Mutations of Desmoglein‑2 in Sudden Unexplained Death in the Chinese Han Population显示文摘Sudden unexplained death(SUD)remains a puzzle in forensic medicine.Desmoglein‑2(DSG2)has been linked to arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy which may cause life‑threatening ventricular arrhythmias and sudden death.Fatal arrhythmias resulting in sudden death also occur in the absence of morphologic cardiac abnormalities at autopsy.We hypothesized that DSG2 mutations may be responsible for certain Chinese SUD cases.We sequenced all 15 exons of DSG2 in DNA extracted from postmortem heart tissues of 25 Chinese patients dying from SUD.The primers were designed using the Primer Express 3.0 software.Direct sequencing for both sense and antisense strands was performed with a BigDye Terminator DNA sequencing kit on a 3130 Xl Genetic Analyzer.Mutation damage prediction was made using Mutation Taster,PolyPhen,and SIFT software.In 2 of 25 cases of Chinese SUD samples,two DSG2 heterozygous mutations(p.P927 L and p.T1070M)were identified,and one is probably damaging.We concluded that DSG2 mutations may be related to the occurrence of part of SUD cases in the Chinese Han population.Junyi Lin Yulei Yang Ziqin Zhao Yiwen Shen Kaijun Ma Mingchang Zhang 2019Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine2019,5,2:0

19Breaking Mirror Circularly Polarized Luminescence of Chiral Metal-Organic Frameworks by High-Pressure Stimulation显示文摘Understanding high-pressure-stimulated circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)of enantiomers remains a challenging but significant task in fundamental research and optical applications.Here,we combined in situ high-pressure photoluminescence with circularly polarized light to study how high pressure stimulated the CPL of crystalline enantiomers.Chiral lanthanide(Ln)-tartrate(Tar)metal-organic frameworks(MOFs;Ln=Eu,Tb)were synthesized to study their CPL from atmospheric pressure to 10 GPa.Under atmospheric pressure,D-and L-Eu(Tar)showed strong andmirror CPL.CPL intensity changes,emission wavelength shifts,and signal inversions were induced by increasing pressure.Note that the D-Eu(Tar)enantiomer showed strong CPL with a maximal dissymmetric factor(g_(lum))of 0.69 under 3 GPa,which is much higher than that under atmospheric pressure and of other reported MOF-based CPL materials.More interestingly,D-and L-Ln(Tar)enantiomers display obvious asymmetric CPL signals with increasing pressure,demonstrating that high pressure can break the mirror CPL of the MOF enantiomers.Our findings provide a critical understanding on in situ high-pressure CPL of chiral materials and establish a new optical phenomenon where high pressure can break the mirror CPL of enantiomers.Laizhi Sui Zhi-Bin Jin Guangming Niu Jutao Jiang Qiao-Hong Li Li-Mei Chang Kaijun Yuan Zhi-Gang Gu Jian Zhang Xueming Yang 2023CCS Chemistry2023,5,10:0
