1Anti-inflammatory activity of curcumin-loaded tetrahedral framework nucleic acids on acute gouty arthritis显示文摘Gouty arthritis is a very familiar inflammatory arthritis.Controlling inflammation is the key to preventing gouty arthritis.However,colchicine,the most highly represented drug used in clinical practice,has strict contraindications owing to some severe side effects.Curcumin(Cur),a natural anti-inflammatory drug,has demonstrated good safety and efficacy.However,the rapid degradation,poor aqueous solubility,and low bioavailability of Cur limit its therapeutic effect.To strengthen the effectiveness and bioavailability of Cur.Cur loaded tetrahedral framework nucleic acids(Cur-TFNAs)were synthesized to deliver Cur.Compared with free Cur,Cur-TFNAs exhibit a preferable drug stability,good biocompatibility(CCK-8 assay),ease of uptake(immunofluorescence),and higher tissue utilization(in vivo biodistribution).Most importantly,Cur-TFNAs present better anti-inflammatory effect than free Cur both in vivo and in vitro experiments through the determination of inflammation-related cytokines expression.Therefore,we believe that Cur-TFNAs have great prospects for the prevention of gout and similar inflammatory diseases.Mei Zhang Xiaolin Zhang Taoran Tian Qi Zhang Yuting Wen Junyao Zhu Dexuan Xiao Weitong Cui Yunfeng Lin 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,2:10

3Retina-Inspired Organic Heterojunction-Based Optoelectronic Synapses for Artificial Visual Systems显示文摘For the realization of retina-inspired neuromorphic visual systems which simulate basic functions of human visual systems,optoelectronic synapses capable of combining perceiving,processing,and memorizing in a single device have attracted immense interests.Here,optoelectronic synaptic transistors based on tris(2-phenylpyridine)iridium(Ir(ppy)_(3))and poly(3,3-didodecylquarterthiophene)(PQT-12)heterojunction structure are presented.The organic heterojunction serves as a basis for distinctive synaptic characteristics under different wavelengths of light.Furthermore,synaptic transistor arrays are fabricated to demonstrate their optical perception efficiency and color recognition capability under multiple illuminating conditions.The wavelength-tunability of synaptic behaviors further enables the mimicry of mood-modulated visual learning and memorizing processes of humans.More significantly,the computational dynamics of neurons of synaptic outputs including associated learning and optical logic functions can be successfully demonstrated on the presented devices.This work may locate the stage for future studies on optoelectronic synaptic devices toward the implementation of artificial visual systems.Junyao Zhang Yang Lu Shilei Dai Ruizhi Wang Dandan Hao Shiqi Zhang Lize Xiong Jia Huang 2021Research2021,,1:3
4Applying a new method for direct collection, volume quantification and determination of N_2 emission from water显示文摘The emission of N2 is important to remove excess N from lakes, ponds, and wetlands. To investigate the gas emission from water, Gao et al.(2013) developed a new method using a bubble trap device to collect gas samples from waters. However, the determination accuracy of sampling volume and gas component concentration was still debatable. In this study, the method was optimized for in situ sampling, accurate volume measurement and direct injection to a gas chromatograph for the analysis of N2 and other gases. By the optimized new method, the recovery rate for N2 was 100.28% on average; the mean coefficient of determination(R2) was 0.9997; the limit of detection was 0.02%. We further assessed the effects of the new method, bottle full of water, vs. vacuum bag and vacuum vial methods, on variations of N2 concentration as influenced by sample storage times of 1,2, 3, 5, and 7 days at constant temperature of 15°C, using indices of averaged relative peak area(%) in comparison with the averaged relative peak area of each method at 0 day.The indices of the bottle full of water method were the lowest(99.5%–108.5%) compared to the indices of vacuum bag and vacuum vial methods(119%–217%). Meanwhile, the gas chromatograph determination of other gas components(O2, CH4, and N2O) was also accurate. 6Comparative study of MCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y)(M=Cu,Mn,Fe)catalysts for selective reduction of NO by CO:Activity and reaction pathways显示文摘Basic oxygen furnace steelmaking leads to the production of CO-rich off-gas.When CO and NO are combined in off-gas,selective catalytic reduction by CO(CO-SCR)effectively achieves the synergistic removal of both pollutants.In this paper,CuCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y),MnCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y),and FeCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y) catalysts are prepared and evaluated for their CO-SCR activity,and the results show that the reaction system needs to be anaerobic;thus,the CO-SCR reaction can be dominant.The T_(90) values of CuCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y) and FeCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y) are 200℃ and 223℃,respectively.The activities of these two catalysts are higher than that of MnCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y)(T_(90)=375℃).Linear nitrate and bridged bidentate nitrate are the main intermediate species involved in NO conversion on the catalyst surface,and bidentate CO_(3)^(2-)��coordination is the main intermediate species involved in CO conversion on the catalyst surface.CuCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y) has high lattice oxygen mobility and is more likely to react with NO and CO.In the presence of oxygen,most CO is oxidized by O_(2),which increases continuously to 100%,100%,and 98%for CuCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y),FeCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y),and MnCe_(0.75)Zr_(0.25)O_(y),respectively;additionally,CO is oxidized by O_(2),and the CO-SCR reaction cannot be carried out.Junyao He Running Kang Xiaolin Wei Junqin Huang Feng Bin Kwun Nam Hui Kwan San Hui Dongyin Wu 2021Carbon Resources Conversion2021,4,1:2
7Intramedullary schwannoma of the upper cervical spinal cord:a case study of identification in pathologic autopsy显示文摘Intramedullary schwannoma of the upper cervical spinal cord is rarely reported in forensic medicine.We herein report a case involving a patient who died of compression from an intramedullary schwannoma in the upper cervical spinal cord.A 30-year-old man initially presented with a five-day history of pain in the left chest that progressed to weakening in the left arm.Although the patient was treated with analgesic poultices,he developed inspiratory dyspnoea and died while working the next day without having undergone any medical imaging examination or surgical treatment.Anatomical and histopathological examinations revealed an intramedullary schwannoma in the left cervical spinal cord(C_(3)-C_(5))underneath the spinal nerve root.The cause of death might have been asphyxia secondary to the tumour,which interfered with the nerve function in the respiratory muscles.This finding suggests that an autopsy is essential for pathologists and medicolegists to comprehensively undertake their due obligation to obtain“the first evidence”,especially when there is a lack of directly related evidence.As part of the central nervous system,the spinal cord could be systematically included in a routine pathological autopsy in some cases.Xianxian Li Guangtao Xu Ruibing Su Junyao Lv Xiaoping Lai Xiaojun Yu 2017Forensic Sciences Research2017,2,1:2
8Microcalorimetric Study on Tyrosine Oxidation Catalyzed by Tyrosinase显示文摘Through the method of initial heat release rate, the kinetic property of tyrosine oxidationcatalyzed by tyrosinase from Pseudomonas maltophilia was investigated using a LKB-2107 batchmicrocalorimeter. Tyrosine was catalyzed and oxidized into L-dopa, then into melanin catalyzed bytyrosinase. 10Carbon sequestration and emissions mitigation in paddy fields based on the DNDC model: A review显示文摘The DeNitrification–DeComposition(DNDC)model is a process model with a series of carbon and nitrogen biogeochemistry in agro-ecosystems.It incorporates the driving factors of the ecological environment and aims to simulate the carbon and nitrogen cycle in the terrestrial ecosystem.Furthermore,the model can be applied effectively in a paddy ecosystem.Based on an investigation and literature review,this study summarized and analyzed the impact of agricultural practices such aswatermanagement,fertilizer application,and strawincorporation on greenhouse gas emissions and soil carbon storage.After years of improvement,the DNDC model can presently be used effectively to evaluate the carbon sequestration and emissions mitigation potential of various agricultural practices.However,the related details of scientific processes of agricultural management,such as biochar incorporation and plastic mulching in paddy fields,should be added or modified and combined with experimental cases of actual agricultural practices to complete the calibration of the model,provide theoretical support for its promotion,and establish a reliable method of evaluating carbon sequestration and emissions mitigation in paddy fields.Shan Yin Xianxian Zhang Junyao Lyu Yuee Zhi Feng Chen Longqin Wang Chunjiang Liu Sheng Zhou 2020Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture2020,,1:1
11Tetrahedral framework nucleic acids promote the biological functions and related mechanism of synovium-derived mesenchymal stem cells and show improved articular cartilage regeneration activity in situ显示文摘Many recent studies have shown that joint-resident mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)play a vital role in articular cartilage(AC)in situ regeneration.Specifically,synovium-derived MSCs(SMSCs),which have strong chondrogenic differentiation potential,may be the main driver of cartilage repair.However,both the insufficient number of MSCs and the lack of an ideal regenerative microenvironment in the defect area will seriously affect the regeneration of AC.Tetrahedral framework nucleic acids(tFNAs),notable novel nanomaterials,are considered prospective biological regulators in biomedical engineering.Here,we aimed to explore whether tFNAs have positive effects on AC in situ regeneration and to investigate the related mechanism.The results of in vitro experiments showed that the proliferation and migration of SMSCs were significantly enhanced by tFNAs.In addition,tFNAs,which were added to chondrogenic induction medium,were shown to promote the chondrogenic capacity of SMSCs by increasing the phosphorylation of Smad2/3.In animal models,the injection of tFNAs improved the therapeutic outcome of cartilage defects compared with that of the control treatments without tFNAs.In conclusion,this is the first report to demonstrate that tFNAs can promote the chondrogenic differentiation of SMSCs in vitro and enhance AC regeneration in vivo,indicating that tFNAs may become a promising therapeutic for AC regeneration.Liwei Fu Pinxue Li Junyao Zhu Zhiyao Liao Cangjian Gao Hao Li Zhen Yang Tianyuan Zhao Wei Chen Yu Peng Fuyang Cao Chao Ning Xiang Sui Quanyi Guo Yunfeng Lin Shuyun Liu 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,3:1

17Tetrahedral framework nucleic acids promote scarless healing of cutaneous wounds via the AKT-signaling pathway显示文摘While the skin is considered the first line of defense in the human body,there are some vulnerabilities that render it susceptible to certain threats,which is an issue that is recognized by both patients and doctors.Cutaneous wound healing is a series of complex processes that involve many types of cells,such as fibroblasts and keratinocytes.This study showed that tetrahedral framework nucleic acids(tFNAs),a type of self-assembled nucleic-acid material,have the ability to promote keratinocyte(HaCaT cell line)and fibroblast(HSF cell line)proliferation and migration in vitro.In addition,tFNAs increased the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)in HSF cells and reduced the production of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α)and interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β)in HaCaT cells by activating the AKT-signaling pathway.During in vivo experiments,tFNA treatments accelerated the healing process in skin wounds and decreased the development of scars,compared with the control treatment that did not use tFNAs.This is the first study to demonstrate that nanophase materials with the biological features of nucleic acids accelerate the healing of cutaneous wounds and reduce scarring,which indicates the potential application of tFNAs in skin tissue regeneration.Junyao Zhu Mei Zhang Yang Gao Xin Qin Tianxu Zhang Weitong Cui Chenchen Mao Dexuan Xiao Yunfeng Lin 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:1
18Mapping China’s offshore mariculture based on dense time-series optical and radar data显示文摘Due to the weak information about cultural targets in the complex marine environment,an omission problem exists in large-scale mariculture extraction using single-view and single-source images.To overcome this problem,we developed a mariculture extraction method that combines dense time-series Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-1 data.A high-precision Chinese mariculture distribution map for 2020 was produced with an overall accuracy of 94.00%and a kappa coefficient of 0.91.The results show that(1)the total area of mariculture was 1173249.22 ha on the national scale,which was significantly larger than the previous studies(459595.70 and 205920.28 ha,respectively),with Shandong Province(39.09%)having the largest proportion;(2)China’s mariculture presented a spatial distribution characteristic of‘Denser North and Sparser South’,and mariculture was centralized in the coastal zones of the northern provinces(60.76%)rather than the southern provinces;(3)the official production statistics and remote sensing-derived mariculture area revealed a highly corresponding trend at the provincial level,with an R2 reaching 0.78,which is much higher than the 0.07 and 0.41 values of the comparison data.The results directly provide data reference for mariculture production estimation and site selection or ideas for mariculture extraction in other regions and globally.Xiaoliang Liu Zhihua Wang Xiaomei Yang Yueming Liu Bin Liu Junyao Zhang Ku Gao Dan Meng Yaxin Ding 2022International Journal of Digital Earth2022,15,1:1

20Sphingolipid synthesis inhibitor fumonisin B1 causes verticillium wilt in cotton显示文摘Verticillium wilt caused by Verticillium dahliae is a major disease of cotton. Acidic protein–lipopolysaccharide complexes are thought to be the toxins responsible for its symptoms. Here,we determined that the sphingolipid biosynthesis inhibitor fumonisin B1(FB1) acts as a toxin and phenocopies the symptoms induced by V. dahliae. Knocking out genes required for FB1 biosynthesis reduced V. dahliae pathogenicity. Moreover, we showed that overexpression of a FB1 and V. dahliae both downregulated gene, Gh IQD10, enhanced verticillium wilt resistance by promoting the expression of brassinosteroid and anti-pathogen genes.
