| 1 | Effect of seawater on incident plane P and SV waves at ocean bottom and engineering characteristics of offshore ground motion records off the coast of southern California, USA显示文摘The effect of seawater on vertical ground motions is studied via a theoretical method and then actual offshore ground motion records are analyzed using a statistical method. A theoretical analysis of the effect of seawater on incident plane P and SV waves at ocean bottom indicate that on one hand, the affected frequency range of vertical ground motions is prominent due to P wave resonance in the water layer if the impedance ratio between the seawater and the underlying medium is large, but it is greatly suppressed if the impedance ratio is small; on the other hand, for the ocean bottom interface model selected herein, vertical ground motions consisting of mostly P waves are more easily affected by seawater than those dominated by SV waves. The statistical analysis of engineering parameters of offshore ground motion records indicate that:(1) Under the infl uence of softer surface soil at the seafl oor, both horizontal and vertical spectral accelerations of offshore motions are exaggerated at long period components, which leads to the peak spectral values moving to a longer period.(2) The spectral ratios(V/H) of offshore ground motions are much smaller than onshore ground motions near the P wave resonant frequencies in the water layer; and as the period becomes larger, the effect of seawater becomes smaller, which leads to a similar V/H at intermediate periods(near 2 s). | 3 | Exosome-encapsulated miR-505 from ox-LDL-treated vascular endothelial cells aggravates atherosclerosis by inducing NET formation显示文摘Neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)play an important role in the pathological process of atherosclerosis(AS).This study aims to evaluate whether exosomes from oxidized low-density lipoprotein(ox-LDL)-treated vascular endothelial cells(VECs)aggravate AS by inducing NET formation.Exosomes from the peripheral blood of healthy donors and AS patients(namely NC-EXO and AS-EXO,respectively)and exosomes from human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)treated without or with ox-LDL(namely normal EXO and ox-LDL-EXO,respectively)were isolated,identified,and co-cultured with neutrophils from peripheral blood of healthy donors.NET formation was evaluated by immunofluorescence staining and determining the content of cell-free DNA and myeloperoxidase-DNA complex.Dual-luciferase reporter assay,chromatin immunoprecipitation assay,quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction,and western blot analysis were performed to explore the underlying mechanisms.We found that AS-EXO and ox-LDLEXO in duced NET release from n eutrophils.Meeh a nistically,ox-LDL treatment in HUVECs might activate the NF-κB pathway,which transcriptionally activates miR-505,and then the exosome-encapsulated high miR-505 expression targeted and inhibited SIRT3 in neutrophils,thereby inducing reactive oxygen species(ROS)level increase and NET release by neutrophils.Further in vivo experiments showed that ox-LDLEXO accelerated AS progression in AS mice.In summary,exosome-encapsulated miR-505 from ox-LDLtreated VECs aggravates AS by inducing NET formation. | Li Chen Liqun Hu Qing Li Jian Ma Hongqi Li | 2019 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,12: | 11 |
| 4 | Mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomal miR-21a-5p promotes M2 macrophage polarization and reduces macrophage infiltration to attenuate atherosclerosis显示文摘Atherosclerosis(AS)is the main pathological basis for ischemic cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.Mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)-derived exosomes have the potential to alleviate AS,while the underlying mechanism remains unclear.Here,we aimed to investigate the mechanism of MSC-derived exosomes in AS.The AS mouse model was prepared by feeding ApoE–/–mice with high-fat diet.AS mice were administered with MSC-derived exosomes,and the atherosclerotic plaque area was analyzed by Oil Red O staining.Mouse RAW264.7 macrophages were incubated with MSC-derived exosomes.The macrophage infiltration,macrophage proportion,and cell migration were estimated by immunohistochemistry,flow cytometry,or Transwell assay.The relationship between miR-21a-5p and kruppel-like factor 6(KLF6)or extracellular signal-regulated protein kinases 2(ERK2)was verified by luciferase reporter assay.We found that MSC-derived exosomes promoted M2 polarization of macrophages and reduced plaque area and macrophage infiltration in AS mice.miR-21a-5p overexpression caused an increase of M2 macrophages in RAW264.7 cells and led to a decrease in migration of RAW264.7 cells.Moreover,both KLF6 and ERK2 are the targets of miR-21a-5p.MSC-derived exosomes containing miR-21a-5p promoted M2 polarization of RAW264.7 cells by suppressing KLF6 expression.MSC-derived exosomes containing miR-21a-5p inhibited migration of RAW264.7 cells through inhibiting the ERK1/2 signaling pathway.In conclusion,MSC-derived exosomes containing miR-21a-5p promote macrophage polarization and reduce macrophage infiltration by targeting KLF6 and ERK1/2 signaling pathways,thereby attenuating the development of AS.Thus,MSC-derived exosomes may be a promising treatment for AS. | Jian Ma Li Chen Xiang Zhu Qing Li Liqun Hu Hongqi Li | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,9: | 7 |

| 14 | Fast motion estimation algorithm for H.264/AVC based on centered prediction显示文摘H.264/AVC video coding standard can achieve roughly half of the bit-savings over MPEG2 and MPEG4 for a given quality. However, this comes at a cost in considerably increased complexity at the encoder and thus increases the difficulty in hardware implementation. The high redundancy that exists between the successive frames of a video sequence makes it possible to achieve a high data compression ratio. Motion estimation (ME) plays an important role in motion compensated video coding. A fast motion estimation algorithm for H.264/AVC is proposed based on centered prediction, called centered prediction based fast mixed search algorithm (CPFMS). It makes use of the spatial and temporal correlation in motion vector (MV) fields and feature of all-zero blocks to accelerate the searching process. With the initialized searching point prediction, adaptive search window changing and searching direction decision, CPFMS is provided to reduce computation in block-matching process. The experimental results show that the speed of CPFMS is nearly 12 times of FS with a negligible peak signal-noise ratio (PSNR) loss.
