3Conceptual design of an extractive distillation process for the separation of azeotropic mixture of n-butanol-isobutanol-water显示文摘In many chemical processes, large amounts of wastewater containing butanol and isobutanol are produced.Given that n-butanol-isobutanol-water can form triple azeotrope, high-purity butanol cannot be recovered from the wastewater by ordinary distillation. To economically and effectively recover butanol from this kind of wastewater, 1,4-butanediol is selected as an extractant to break the formation of the azeotropes, and a doubleeffect extractive distillation process is proposed. The conceptual design of the proposed process is accomplished based on process simulation. With the proposed process, the purity of recovered butanol and water is greater than 99.99 wt%. In comparison with the conventional azeotropic distillation process, economic analysis shows that the operating cost of the proposed process is lower: when the capacity of wastewater treatment is 100 t·h^(-1), the total operating cost decreases by 5.385 ×10~6 USD per year, and the total annual cost of the new process decreases by 5.249 ×10~6 USD per year. In addition, in the extractive distillation system, variable effects on separation purities and cost are more complex than those in the ordinary distillation system. 4China's Energy Consumption Forecasting by GMDH Based Auto-Regressive Model显示文摘It is very significant for us to predict future energy consumption accurately. As for China's energy consumption annual time series, the sample size is relatively small. This paper combines the traditional auto-regressive model with group method of data handling(GMDH) suitable for small sample prediction, and proposes a novel GMDH based auto-regressive(GAR) model. This model can finish the modeling process in self-organized manner, including finding the optimal complexity model, determining the optimal auto-regressive order and estimating model parameters. Further, four different external criteria are proposed and the corresponding four GAR models are constructed. The authors conduct empirical analysis on three energy consumption time series, including the total energy consumption, the total petroleum consumption and the total gas consumption. 5Conceptual design of energy-saving stripping process for industrial sour water显示文摘Sour water contains ammonia,carbon dioxide,and hydrogen sulfides,producing from oil refining,coking,and coal gasification.To reduce the energy consumption in sour water stripping,a novel process is proposed which integrates with the bottom flashing mechanical vapor recompression heat pump(MVRHP)for treating such wastewater.Here,Aspen PlusTM as a powerful set of chemical process simulation software is utilized to investigate the economy and feasibility of the novel process.Comparison of the results of two process simulations,it can be seen that it is possible to reduce the total annual cost by nearly 45%to adopt the novel process,despite the capital investment increase 45%more than the conventional process.Thus,the provided conceptual design will play a guiding role in the industrialization of the process.Hengjun Gai Shuo Chen Kaiqiang Lin Xiaowei Zhang Chun Wang Meng Xiao Tingting Huang Hongbing Song 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,5:2
6Modified g-C_(3)N_(4) derived from ionic liquid and urea for promoting visible-light photodegradation of organic pollutants显示文摘In this work,modified g-C_(3)N_(4) was fabricated successfully by calcination of ionic liquid(IL) and urea.The addition of IL changed the polymerization mode of urea,induced the self-assembly of urea molecules,modified the morphological structure of the tightly packed g-C_(3)N_(4),and extended the electron conjugation system.When using 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride([Bmim]Cl) as a modifier,the heteroatom Cl could be inserted into the g-C_(3)N_(4) to optimize the electronic structure.The results of characterizations indicate that the unique structure of modified g-C_(3)N_(4) has an expanded electron delocalization range,introduces an interlayer charge transmission channel,promotes the charge transmission,reduces the band gap,enhances the absorption of visible light,and inhibits electron-hole recombination.Modified g-C_(3)N_(4) showed excellent photocatalytic performance for the degradation of rhodamine B and tetracycline.Furthermore,the effect of different anions in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium salts([Bmim]Cl,[Bmim]Br,[Bmim][BF_(4)],and [Bmim][PF_6]) on the structure and function of g-C_(3) N_(4) are discussed.Hongbing Song Lei Liu Bingxiao Feng Haozhong Wang Meng Xiao Hengjun Gai Yubao Tang Xiaofei Qu Tingting Huang 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,12:2
7Template-free synthesis of hollow TiO2 nanospheres supported Pt for selective photocatalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde显示文摘Heterogeneous photocatalytic system are widely applied to degrade organic pollutants or converse into high value-added chemicals. Both environmental and energy aspects should be considered to improve these chemical processes, favoring reaction conditions that involve room temperature and ambient O2 pressure. In the present work, hollow titanium dioxide nanospheres were fabricated via template-free method. The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, transmission electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by photocatalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde with visible light under atmospheric pressure at room temperature. The designed hollow structure(2%Pt–TiO2–5) not only exhibited a very high surface area,but also promoted photonic behavior and multiple light scattering, which as an efficient photocatalyst performed moderate conversion(about 20%) and high selectivity(> 99%) for oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde at room temperature with visible light in solvent of toluene.This work suggests that both hollow structure and Pt nanoparticles have great potential for execution of oxidative transformations under visible light.Hongbing Song Zong Liu Yongjie Wang Na Zhang Xiaofei Qu Kai Guo Meng Xiao Hengjun Gai 2019Green Energy & Environment2019,4,3:2
8Public-transcriptome-database-assisted selection and validation of reliable reference genes for qRT-PCR in rice显示文摘Accurate quantitative reverse transcription PCR(q RT-PCR)requires reliable reference genes whose expression does not vary in different tissues and developmental stages.However,few reliable reference genes are available for q RT-PCR in rice(Oryza sativa).Here,we established an effective strategy for identifying novel reference genes(NRGs)for reliable normalization of q RT-PCR data in various rice organs and developmental stages.We selected candidate NRGs using the Information Commons for Rice Database and confirmed their expression in Rice Expression Profile Database(Rice XPro)data.Genes with low variation(<2.5 cycle quantification)across tissues and developmental stages,and little fluctuation in expression in heatmaps from Rice XPro data were considered stable NRGs.To validate this strategy,we selected 11 candidate NRGs and calculated their expression stability in different spatio-temporal conditions using five programs,and compared these genes with five established reference genes(ERGs).Only one of the ERGs(UBQ5)was reliable and 10 of the candidate NRGs were more stable than the four remaining ERGs.Therefore,public transcriptomic databases are useful for identifying NRGs.We selected two NRGs,UFC1(Homolog of UFM1-Conjugating Enzyme 1)and Fha B(Homolog of Adhesin Fha B)for q RT-PCR analysis in rice;their homologs might be suitable for other monocot plants.Zhe Zhao Zixu Zhang Zhi Ding Hengjun Meng Rongxin Shen Huiwu Tang Yao-Guang Liu Letian Chen 2020Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,1:2
9Effect of ionic strength and mixing ratio on complex coacervation of soy protein isolate/Flammulina velutipes polysaccharide显示文摘Soy protein isolate(SPI)is a commercial protein with balanced amino acids,while the poor solubility impedes its use in traditional foods.To overcome the problem,the complex coacervation of SPI/Flammulina velutipes polysaccharide(FVP)were investigated.Initial results revealed that the suitable amounts of FVP contributed to reducing the turbidity of SPI solution.Under electrostatic interaction,the formation of SPI/FVP coacervates were spontaneous and went through a nucleation and growth process.Low salt concentration(C_(NaCl)=10,50 mmol/L)led to an increase in the critical pH values(pHc,pHφ1)while the critical pH values decreased when C_(NaCl)≥100 mmol/L.The concentration of NaCl ions increased the content ofα-helix.With the increase of FVP,the critical pH values decreased and the content ofβ-sheet increased through electrostatic interaction.At SPI/FVP ratio of 10:1 and 15:1,the complex coacervation of SPI/FVP were saturated,and the coacervates had the same storage modulus value.SPI/FVP coacervates exhibited solid-like properties and presented the strongest storage modulus at C_(NaCl)=50 mmol/L.The optimal pH,SPI/FVP ratio and NaCl concentration of complex coacervation were collected,and the coacervates demonstrated a valuable application potential to protect and deliver bioactives and food ingredients.Junmiao Zhang Hengjun Du Ning Ma Lei Zhong Gaoxing Ma Fei Pei Hui Chen Qiuhui Hu 2023Food Science and Human Wellness2023,12,1:2
10Effect of cooling rate followingβforging on texture evolution and variant selection duringβ→αtransformation in Ti-55511 alloy显示文摘The control of the post-forging cooling rate has been a key issue in the industrial production process of titanium alloys. We investigated texture evolution and variant selection(VS) during β → α transformation through high-temperature compression experiments followed by quantitative control of varying cooling rates. Results show that post-forging cooling rates affect β grains, α variants, and α/β textures. The αprecipitation inhibits motions of β static recrystallization(β_(SRX)) grain boundaries and thus leads to grain refining from 0.1 ℃/s to 0.05 ℃/s. Further analysis reveals that lamellae grain boundary widmanstattenα(α_(WGB)) keeps growing rapidly within β-grain in an interface instability manner at 0.1–0.05 ℃/s. Most of α-phase with 50°–60°/<-12–10> is preferentially precipitated at β-medium angle GBs between 30°and 45° and strictly follows BOR with the side of of adjacent β-grain with the same or similar {110} or{111}. Moreover, the texture type transforms gradually from RGoss {110} <1–10> to Brass {110} <1–12>from 25 ℃/s to 1 ℃/s. βgrains exhibit(102) [-201] texture, while the corresponding α has textures of<0001>//Z and <11–20>//Y from 1 ℃/s to 0.05 ℃/s. 153D printed triboelectric nanogenerator as self-powered human–machine interactive sensor for breathing-based language expression显示文摘Human–machine interfaces(HMIs)are important windows for a human to communicate with the outside world.The current HMI devices such as cellphones,tablets,and computers can be used to help people with aphasia for language expression.However,these conventional HMI devices are not friendly to some particular groups who also lose their abilities of physical movements like in the intensive care unit(ICU)or vegetative patients to realize language expression.Herein,we report a breath-driven triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)acting as a HMI sensor for language expression through human breathing without voice controls or manual operations.The TENG is integrated within a mask and fabricated via a three-dimensional(3D)printing method.When wearing the mask,the TENG can produce responsive electric signals corresponding to the airflow from breathing,which is capable of recognizing human breathing types with different intensities,lengths,and frequencies.On the basis of the breathing recognition ability,a breathing-based language expressing system is further developed through introducing the Morse code as a communication protocol.Compared with conventional language expressing devices,this system can extract subjective information of a person from breathing behaviors and output corresponding language text,which is not relying on voices or physical movements.This research for the first time introduces the self-powered breathing-based language expressing method to the field of HMI technology by using a 3D printed TENG,and could make HMI interactions become more friendly and fascinating.Pengcheng Zhu Baosen Zhang Hongyi Wang Yiheng Wu Hengjun Cao Liubing He Chaoyue Li Xuepeng Luo Xing Li Yanchao Mao 2022Nano Research2022,15,8:1
