| 2 | Triboelectric–Electromagnetic Hybrid Generator for Harvesting Blue Energy显示文摘Progress has been developed in harvesting lowfrequency and irregular blue energy using a triboelectric–electromagnetic hybrid generator in recent years. However,the design of the high-efficiency, mechanically durable hybrid structure is still challenging. In this study, we report a fully packaged triboelectric–electromagnetic hybrid generator(TEHG), in which magnets were utilized as the trigger to drive contact–separation-mode triboelectric nanogenerators(CS-TENGs) and coupled with copper coils to operate rotary freestanding-mode electromagnetic generators(RF-EMGs). The magnet pairs that produce attraction were used to transfer the external mechanical energy to the CS-TENGs, and packaging of the CS-TENGpart was achieved to protect it from the ambient environment. Under a rotatory speed of 100 rpm, the CS-TENGs enabled the TEHG to deliver an output voltage, current,and average power of 315.8 V, 44.6 μA, and ~ 90.7 μW,and the output of the RF-EMGs was 0.59 V, 1.78 m A, and 79.6 μW, respectively. The cylinder-like structure made the TEHG more easily driven by water flow and demonstrated to work as a practical power source to charge commercial capacitors. | 3 | Low-noise 1.3 μm InAs/GaAs quantum dot laser monolithically grown on silicon显示文摘We report low-noise, high-performance single transverse mode 1.3 μm InAs/GaAs quantum dot lasers monolithically grown on silicon(Si) using molecular beam epitaxy. The fabricated narrow-ridge-waveguide Fabry–Perot(FP) lasers have achieved a room-temperature continuous-wave(CW) threshold current of 12.5 mA and high CW temperature tolerance up to 90°C. An ultra-low relative intensity noise of less than-150 dB∕Hz is measured in the 4–16 GHz range. Using this low-noise Si-based laser, we then demonstrate 25.6 Gb/s data transmission over13.5 km SMF-28. | 6 | Infective viruses produced from full-length complementary DNA of swine vesicular disease viruses HK/70 strain显示文摘The full-length cDNA clone of swine vesicular disease virus HK/70 strain named pSVOK12 was constructed in order to study the antigenicity, replication, maturation and pathogenicity of swine vesicular disease virus. In vitro transcription RNA from pSVOK12 transfected IBRS-2 cells and the re- covered virus RNA were isolated and sequenced, then indirect hemagglutination test, indirect im- munofluorescence assays, eleectron microscope test, 50% tissue culture infecting dose (TCID50) assays and mouse virulence studies were performed to study the antigenicity and virulence of the recovered virus. The result showed that the infectious clones we ob- tained and the virus derived from pSVOK12 had the same biological properties as the parental strain HK/70. | 7 | CRISPR/Cas9 editing of wheat TaQ genes alters spike morphogenesis and grain threshability显示文摘The Ta Q alleles as one of the AP2-like transcription factors in common wheat(Triticum aestivum) play an important role in the evolution of spike characteristics from wild and domesticated emmer to modern wheat cultivars. Its loss-of-function mutant not only changed threshability and spike architecture but also affected plant height, flowering time, and floret structure. However, the comprehensive functions of Ta AQ and Ta Dq genes in wheat have not been fully elucidated yet. Here, CRISPR/Sp Cas9 was used to edit wheat Ta AQ and Ta Dq. We obtained homozygous plants in the T1 generation with loss of function of only Ta AQ or Ta Dq and simultaneous loss of function of Ta AQ and Ta Dq to analyze the effect of these genes on wheat spikes and floret shapes. The results demonstrated that the Ta AQ-edited plants and the Ta AQ and Ta Dq simultaneously-edited plants were nearly similar in spike architecture, whereas the Ta Dq-edited plants were different from the wild-type ones only in plant height. Moreover, the Ta AQ-edited plants or the Ta AQ and Ta Dq simultaneously-edited plants were more brittle than the wild-type and the Ta Dqedited plants. Based on the expression profiling, we postulated that the VRN1, FUL2, SEP2, SEP5, and SEP6 genes might affect the number of spikelets and florets per spike in wheat by regulating the expression of Ta Q. Combining the results of this report and previous reports, we conceived a regulatory network of wheat traits, including plant height, spike shape, and floral organs, which were influenced by AP2-like family genes. | 8 | Spatially Bandgap-Graded Mo S2(1-x)Se2x Homojunctions for Self-Powered Visible–Near-Infrared Phototransistors显示文摘Ternary transition metal dichalcogenide alloys with spatially graded bandgaps are an emerging class of two-dimensional materials with unique features,which opens up new potential for device applications.Here,visible–near-infrared and self-powered phototransistors based on spatially bandgap-graded MoS2(1−x)Se2x alloys,synthesized by a simple and controllable chemical solution deposition method,are reported.The graded bandgaps,arising from the spatial grading of Se composition and thickness within a single domain,are tuned from 1.83 to 1.73 eV,leading to the formation of a homojunction with a builtin electric field.Consequently,a strong and sensitive gate-modulated photovoltaic effect is demonstrated,enabling the homojunction phototransistors at zero bias to deliver a photoresponsivity of 311 mA W−1,a specific detectivity up to^10^11 Jones,and an on/off ratio up to^10^4.Remarkably,when illuminated by the lights ranging from 405 to 808 nm,the biased devices yield a champion photoresponsivity of 191.5 A W−1,a specific detectivity up to^1012 Jones,a photoconductive gain of 10^6–10^7,and a photoresponsive time in the order of^50 ms.These results provide a simple and competitive solution to the bandgap engineering of two-dimensional materials for device applications without the need for p–n junctions. | Hao Xu Juntong Zhu Guifu Zou Wei Liu Xiao Li Caihong Li Gyeong Hee Ryu Wenshuo Xu Xiaoyu Han Zhengxiao Guo Jamie HWarner Jiang Wu Huiyun Liu | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,2: | 4 |
| 9 | Sequencing and analysis for the full-length genome RNA of foot-and-mouth disease virus China/99显示文摘The complete nucleotide sequence of genomic RNA of foot and mouth disease virus (FMDV) strain China/99 from infected bovine tongue epithelium is presented. The nucleotide sequence extending from the 5′ end of the genomic RNA to the 5′ end of poly (A) tail contains 8173 nucleotides (nt). Its open reading frame, which encodes a single polypeptide of 2332 amino acids, encompasses 6999 nt starting from the initiation codon AUG and terminating at the UAA codon 93 bases upstream from the 5′ end of poly (A) tract. The 5′ untranslated region (UTR) is composed of 1081nt. The consensus of the 1d gene of FMDV strain China/99 compared with that of UKG/6/2001, UKG/12/2001, China/99HN4 and China/3/Tibet is over 97%. The result showed the stains belong to the members of the Pan-Asia family. There is a remarkable differentiation in the function-unknown (FUR), p2 and p3 regions between FMDV isolates from infected cattle and swine, especially in 3a gene. No deletion was found in genes l, 1a, 1b, 2a, 2c, 3b, and 3d. These genes might be indispensable to the surviving of FMDV. | 10 | 1.3 μm InAs/GaAs quantum dot lasers on silicon with GaInP upper cladding layers显示文摘We report on the first electrically pumped continuous-wave(CW) In As/Ga As quantum dot(QD) laser grown on Si with a GaInP upper cladding layer. A QD laser structure with a Ga_(0.51)In_(0.49)P upper cladding layer and an Al_(0.53)Ga_(0.47)As lower cladding layer was directly grown on Si by metal–organic chemical vapor deposition. It demonstrates the postgrowth annealing effect on the QDs was relieved enough with the GaInP upper cladding layer grown at a low temperature of 550°C. Broad-stripe edge-emitting lasers with 2-mm cavity length and 15-μm stripe width were fabricated and characterized. | 11 | Laccase Immobilized on Mesoporous Silica Materials and Its Corrosion Inhibition Performance in Circulating Cooling Water System显示文摘Mesoporous SiO_2 microspheres were synthesized using the sol-gel method and were characterized by TEM, FT-IR and BET techniques. The diameter of the microspheres is about 100—150 nm, and the average mesopore diameter is 2.55 nm, while the specific surface area is 1 088.9 m2/g. Mesoporous SiO_2 microspheres adsorb glutaraldehyde and immobilize laccase by means of the aldehyde group in glutaral which can react with the amidogen of laccase. The immobilization conditions were optimized at a glutaraldehyde concentration of 0.75%, a crosslinking time of 8 h, a laccase concentration of 0.04 L/L and an immobilization time of 10 h. When diesel leakage concentration was 80 mg/L, the highest corrosion inhibition efficiency of immobilized laccase reached 49.23%, which was slightly lower than the corrosion inhibition efficiency of free laccase(59%). The diesel degradation ratio could reach up to 45%. | 16 | Ⅲ–Ⅴ ternary nanowires on Si substrates: growth, characterization and device applications显示文摘Over the past decades, the progress in the growth of materials which can be applied to cutting-edge technologies in the field of electronics, optoelectronics and energy harvesting has been remarkable. Among the various materials, group Ⅲ–Ⅴ semiconductors are of particular interest and have been widely investigated due to their excellent optical properties and high carrier mobility. However, the integration of Ⅲ–Ⅴ structures as light sources and numerous other optical components on Si,which is the foundation for most optoelectronic and electronic integrated circuits, has been hindered by the large lattice mismatch between these compounds. This mismatch results in substantial amounts of strain and degradation of the performance of the devices. Nanowires(NWs) are unique nanostructures that induce elastic strain relaxation, allowing for the monolithic integration of Ⅲ–Ⅴ semiconductors on the cheap and mature Si platform. A technique that ensures flexibility and freedom in the design of NW structures is the growth of ternary Ⅲ–Ⅴ NWs, which offer a tuneable frame of optical characteristics, merely by adjusting their nominal composition. In this review, we will focus on the recent progress in the growth of ternary Ⅲ–Ⅴ NWs on Si substrates. After analysing the growth mechanisms that are being employed and describing the effect of strain in the NW growth, we will thoroughly inspect the available literature and present the growth methods, characterization and optical measurements of each of the Ⅲ–Ⅴ ternary alloys that have been demonstrated. The different properties and special treatments required for each of these material platforms are also discussed. Moreover, we will present the results from the works on device fabrication, including lasers, solar cells, water splitting devices, photodetectors and FETs, where ternary Ⅲ–Ⅴ NWs were used as building blocks. | 18 | CmMLO17 and its partner CmKIC potentially support Alternaria alternata growth in Chrysanthemum morifolium显示文摘The Mildew Resistance Locus O(MLO)gene family has been investigated in many species.However,there are few studies on chrysanthemum MLO genes.We report in this study that CmMLO17 in Chrysanthemum morifolium was upregulated after Alternaria alternata infection.Silencing of CmMLO17 by artificial microRNA resulted in reduced susceptibility of chrysanthemum to A.alternata infection.Genes in the abscisic acid(ABA)and Ca 2+signaling pathways were upregulated in the CmMLO17-silenced line R20 compared to the wild-type plants.We speculated that CmMLO17-silenced plants had a faster and stronger defense response that was mediated by the ABA and Ca 2+signaling pathways,resulting in reduced susceptibility of chrysanthemum to A.alternata infection.In addition,a candidate gene,CmKIC,that may interact with CmMLO17 was discovered by the yeast two-hybrid assay.The interaction between CmMLO17 and CmKIC was confirmed using the yeast two-hybrid assay and bimolecular fluorescence complementation(BiFC)analysis.CmMLO17 and CmKIC were both located on the plasma membrane,and CmKIC was also located on the nucleus.CmKIC overexpression increased the susceptibility of chrysanthemum to A.alternata,whereas CmKIC silencing resulted in reduced susceptibility.Therefore,CmMLO17 and CmKIC may work together in C.morifolium to support the growth of A.alternata.The results of this study will provide insight into the potential function of MLO and improve the understanding of plant defense responses to necrotrophic pathogens. | Jingjing Xin Ye Liu Huiyun Li Sumei Chen Jiafu Jiang Aiping Song Weimin Fang Fadi Chen | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 1 |
